Singapore entry details and exceptions

Entry to Singapore is applicable to the following:

    -Singapore Citizens and permanent residents (PR)
    -Long term pass holders and immediate relatives of Singapore citizens/PRs.
    -Short term social/business visitors - must have a valid SafeTravel Pass or Air Travel Pass.
Approved short-term visitors must present an insurance that has a minimum coverage of SGD30,000 for COVID-19 medical treatment.

All travelers, except Singapore citizens and PRs need to present an entry approval from authorities upon entry to the country.

All travelers are required to submit an electronic health declaration within 72 hours prior to arrival to Singapore and download the Trace Together App.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Visitors from South Africa must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 48 hours before departing to Singapore.

Details and exceptions
All travelers aged 3 and above are required to show proof of negative PCR test result. Upon arrival, travelers will be tested again at their own cost.
For travelers who will be required to serve a Stay Home Notice, they will be required to be tested prior to the end of their isolation period.

Quarantine requirements

Visitors from South Africa will need to quarantine for 14 days upon entering Singapore.

Traveler must also take rapid antigen tests during quarantine and also take a COVID-19 PCR test at the end of quarantine.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Travellers returning from Singapore must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departure to South Africa.

Details and exceptions
traveler with no proof of a negative COVID-19 test result will be required to do an antigen test on arrival at his or her own cost and if positive for COVID-19, he or she will be required to isolate at their own cost, for a period of 10 days.
Children under the age of 5 are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 test.
Quarantine requirements

Visitors returning from Singapore are not required to quarantine upon entering South Africa.

Details and exceptions
Travelers who display any COVID-19–related symptoms must be tested on arrival. In the event that the result of the COVID-19 test is positive, they will be required to quarantine for 10 days. The cost of testing and quarantine will be on the travelers' expense.
