Peru entry details and exceptions

The entry to Peru of non-resident foreigners from South Africa or those who have made a stopover in the said country in the last 14 days is suspended until 12 December 2021.

Individuals who are entering Peru are required to fill out the Affidavit of Health Status and Health Declaration Form 72 hours prior to flight schedule.

Test type

Visitors from South Africa must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departing to Peru.

Details and exceptions
Children under the age of 12 with a medical certificate of good health are exempt from presenting a negative PCR-RT test result.
Quarantine requirements

Visitors from South Africa will need to quarantine for days upon entering Peru.

Peruvians and resident foreigners of Peru from South Africa are required to quarantine for 14 days in their home, lodging or approved quarantine facility.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Travellers returning from Peru must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departure to South Africa.

Details and exceptions
traveler with no proof of a negative COVID-19 test result will be required to do an antigen test on arrival at his or her own cost and if positive for COVID-19, he or she will be required to isolate at their own cost, for a period of 10 days.
Children under the age of 5 are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 test.
Quarantine requirements

Visitors returning from Peru are not required to quarantine upon entering South Africa.

Travelers who display any COVID-19–related symptoms must be tested on arrival. In the event that the result of the COVID-19 test is positive, they will be required to quarantine for 10 days. The cost of testing and quarantine will be on the travelers' expense.
