Exemption applies to Mongolian nationals, permanent residents, some long-term visa holders, and other permitted arrivals. Officials may allow foreign nationals to apply for entry visas if they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. International passenger flights remain restricted.
Visitors from South Africa must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departing to Mongolia.
Visitors from South Africa will need to quarantine for 14 days upon entering Mongolia.
Travellers returning from Mongolia must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departure to South Africa.
Visitors returning from Mongolia are not required to quarantine upon entering South Africa.
