Lebanon entry details and exceptions

Travelers are allowed to enter Lebanon, but there are restrictions. Travelers must download the mobile app Covid Leb Track and present it on arrival.

To visit Lebanon for tourism, you require a visa. A paper or embassy visa is the only type of visa available for visitors. Typically the visa is a stamp or sticker added to your passport. You must submit your application through the consulate or local visa center. You will also need to obtain a pre-approval from the General Directorate of General Security. COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Unvaccinated visitors from South Africa must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 96 hours before departing to Lebanon.

Fully vaccinated visitors with approved vaccination certificates do not need to present a negative COVID-19 test.

Details and exceptions
Travelers who are not fully vaccinated and unvaccinated must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test result that includes a QR code. COVID-19 test results that do not require a QR code are only those issued in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, and Europe. This requirement does not apply to travelers under the age of 12, fully vaccinated travelers who received their last dose required at least 14 days before travel, travelers who recovered from COVID-19 in the last 90 days before departure and have an official document of recovery and travelers leaving and returning to Lebanon in the previous 7 days.
All travelers are required to take a COVID-19 PCR test on arrival in Lebanon. This requirement does not apply to travelers under the age of 12 and travelers who are members of UNIFIL.
Quarantine requirements

Visitors from South Africa are not required to quarantine after entering Lebanon.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Travellers returning from Lebanon must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departure to South Africa.

Details and exceptions
traveler with no proof of a negative COVID-19 test result will be required to do an antigen test on arrival at his or her own cost and if positive for COVID-19, he or she will be required to isolate at their own cost, for a period of 10 days.
Children under the age of 5 are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 test.
Quarantine requirements

Visitors returning from Lebanon are not required to quarantine upon entering South Africa.

Details and exceptions
Travelers who display any COVID-19–related symptoms must be tested on arrival. In the event that the result of the COVID-19 test is positive, they will be required to quarantine for 10 days. The cost of testing and quarantine will be on the travelers' expense.
