COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Visitors from South Africa must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) or Antigen (quick-test) test taken 72 hours before departing to Jamaica.

Children under the age of 12 are exempt from testing requirements.
Only results from nasopharyngeal samples will be accepted for Antigen tests.Only results from oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal samples are accepted for PCR tests.
Quarantine requirements

Visitors from South Africa will need to quarantine for 14 days upon entering Jamaica.

Details and exceptions
Travelers are required to stay in a hotel or resort in a designated area (resilient corridor) for the length of their stay.Travelers who do not stay in a resilient corridor must quarantine for 14 days on arrival.
Persons that are not vaccinated, or not fully vaccinated against COVID-19, will be placed under the Home Quarantine measure for a period of 14 days following the date of landing in Jamaica.
Fully vaccinated travellers subject to the Home Quarantine measure will have the option to do a RT-PCR test for COVID-19 at their own expense at an approved testing laboratory after their arrival in Jamaica. If the test result is negative, the quarantine period will end on receipt of the result. If the test result shows that the traveller is COVID-19 positive, the traveller will be isolated either at home or in a government facility as determined by the health authorities.

Travellers returning from Jamaica must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departure to South Africa.

Details and exceptions
traveler with no proof of a negative COVID-19 test result will be required to do an antigen test on arrival at his or her own cost and if positive for COVID-19, he or she will be required to isolate at their own cost, for a period of 10 days.
Children under the age of 5 are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 test.
Quarantine requirements

Visitors returning from Jamaica are not required to quarantine upon entering South Africa.

Details and exceptions
Travelers who display any COVID-19–related symptoms must be tested on arrival. In the event that the result of the COVID-19 test is positive, they will be required to quarantine for 10 days. The cost of testing and quarantine will be on the travelers' expense.
