Cyprus entry details and exceptions

As of 26 November 2021, The arrival and/or entry to Cyprus of any person who resided or passed through Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa or Zimbabwe during the last 14 days is prohibited. Cypriot citizens and their family members, citizens of EU and EEA countries and legal residents of Cyprus are allowed to enter the country. They must present a pre-departure test and undergo a 10-day quarantine period.

All travelers are required to complete the Cyprus Flight Pass 48 hours prior to departure to the country.

Cyprus follows the Traffic Light System. Hence, travelers must know their category of the country where they are arriving from for their entry requirements when visiting the country.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Visitors from South Africa must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departing to Cyprus.

Details and exceptions
All travelers, regardless of their vaccination status, are required to perform a PCR test upon arrival at the airport. The cost of the test will be shouldered by the travelers.
Children under the age of 12 are exempt from presenting a pre-departure COVID-19 test.
Quarantine requirements

Visitors from South Africa will need to quarantine for 14 days upon entering Cyprus.

Details and exceptions
Permitted travelers from GREY COUNTRIES are required to quarantine for 14 days. However, it can be shortened to seven (7) days provided that they undergo a PCR test and obtain a negative result on the 7th day of their quarantine period. The cost of the test will be paid for by the travelers.
Vaccinated individuals from the countries indicated on this site are exempt from quarantine requirement.

Travelers arriving to Cyprus without a Cyprus Flight Pass, will be subject to a fine of 300 Euros.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Travellers returning from Cyprus must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departure to South Africa.

Details and exceptions
traveler with no proof of a negative COVID-19 test result will be required to do an antigen test on arrival at his or her own cost and if positive for COVID-19, he or she will be required to isolate at their own cost, for a period of 10 days.
Children under the age of 5 are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 test.
Quarantine requirements

Visitors returning from Cyprus are not required to quarantine upon entering South Africa.

Details and exceptions
Travelers who display any COVID-19–related symptoms must be tested on arrival. In the event that the result of the COVID-19 test is positive, they will be required to quarantine for 10 days. The cost of testing and quarantine will be on the travelers' expense.
