Albania entry details and exceptions

All travelers, including transit passengers must present any of the following:

    1. Vaccination certificate, where at least two weeks have passed from the date of full vaccination;
    2. Negative PCR test taken within 72 hours or a rapid antigen test taken within 48 hours or;
    3. Proof of recovery on Sars-Cov2 infection, which is valid for up to 6 months after healing.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Unvaccinated visitors from South Africa must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) or Antigen (quick-test) test taken 72 for RT-PCR (NAAT) and 48 for Antigen (quick-test) hours before departing to Albania.

Fully vaccinated visitors with approved vaccination certificates do not need to present a negative COVID-19 test.

Children under the age of 6 are exempt from test requirement.
Quarantine requirements

Visitors from South Africa are not required to quarantine after entering Albania.

Albanian citizens who are residents in Albania, must self-isolate for 10 days in the event that they are unable to present a COVID-19 test or vaccine certificate or recovery certificate. They must inform the health authority to get a Covid-19 test at the end of the isolation period.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Travellers returning from Albania must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departure to South Africa.

Details and exceptions
traveler with no proof of a negative COVID-19 test result will be required to do an antigen test on arrival at his or her own cost and if positive for COVID-19, he or she will be required to isolate at their own cost, for a period of 10 days.
Children under the age of 5 are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 test.
Quarantine requirements

Visitors returning from Albania are not required to quarantine upon entering South Africa.

Details and exceptions
Travelers who display any COVID-19–related symptoms must be tested on arrival. In the event that the result of the COVID-19 test is positive, they will be required to quarantine for 10 days. The cost of testing and quarantine will be on the travelers' expense.
