10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location and amenities. If we asked for it we got it. Yoga mat, ice, corkscrew, and maintenance. We had one of the newly renovated rooms which was really beautiful. Fantastic view into the harbour.
Cons: Some of the new renovations were not checked thoroughly for functionality. Toilet ran and needed adjustment. The sliding door into the bathroom could not be opened or closed without significant effort. Maintenance could not fix it as the door is too heavy
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It was a true 5 star experience
Cons: The AC in the room had a very strong fan, even when turned down low - it did not extend to the bed so it worked for me but if I had sat at the desk, it was to the point of uncomfortable. But the overall hotel experience was first rate.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: We went for the 4th of July holiday and felt so comfortable in the small and warmly decorated hotel. Being such a crowded weekend, we never felt overwhelmed due to the hotel being near MIT and no school in session over the summer.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, accommodating staff, great location
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel, a former firehouse, has a beautiful feel. The very opposite of a cookie cutter chain hotel. The staff were very friendly, and the room was large and comfortable.
Cons: The location, in the center of Kendall Square, is difficult to park in. The hotel does have a small underground lot (which is great) but the fit is right. Despite a warning from front desk staff, we still managed to nick the front bumper...
6,7 Good
Pros: Decor, breakfast, and location
Cons: My room reservation was switched from a deluxe king to a twin queen. No prior notice was given that the reserved and confirmed room was no longer available and the hotel was completely booked so no corrections could be made.

Cons: They called and cancelled room on me even though I was given a confirmation number - at 8:30 pm the night of check in! I had to try and find a room standing on the street corner - totally unacceptable.

Pros: Quiet, clean, modern. Very spacious snd an excellent value. Ample free parking.
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay was amazing! After hitting so much traffic then getting a flat tire on the Mass Pike - our check in process was easy, Staff was amazing and so accommodating! From restaurant recommendations to info on public transportation and uber. The room was huge. Perfect for two adults and two teenagers. Everything was spotless! The first thing the girls noticed upon getting off the elevator was the clean fresh scent. The breakfast was included in the room rate and incredibly delicious! The girls loved the selection of DVDs. We were always offered bottled water, cappuccinos, lattes etc. not in a typical hotel like area. Very quiet quaint area and the drive to Boston was roughly 26 minutes. we make this trip to Boston annually to go to Boston Children’s Hospital- the Crescent Suites will be where we stay from now on!
Cons: Arriving late night in the dark, the hotel sign can be misleading- think Bates Motel. Everyone in the car commented it looked a bit “sketchy” with the sign lit up but bushes /trees kinda blocked it. We passed it the first time because we didn’t realize that was it. But again looks can be deceiving. Don’t judge a book by its cover goes into play here. Don’t judge a hotel by its sign. Easy to find and absolutely beautiful property,in daylight hours. That’s about the only semi negative thing I could say about this wonderful hotel!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Surprised at how large the room was. Hotel has a cozy feel.
Cons: thin walls. Heard the people in the next room well past midnight and again at 4:45 am
1,0 Poor
Pros: It was where I needed it to be
Cons: Manager and I didn't agree on things
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this hotel was perfect. The staff were wonderful. The location was great. Super close to a number of Universities and 15-20min drive into Boston city. Parking onsite and lots of food options, supermarkets and coffee places nearby. We loved this place because of the small kind gestures like the freshly baked cookies ready for guests every day at 3pm. Front desk offering to make us (complementary tea & coffee) The rooms were large but warm and cosy and at night time we were able to get a good night sleep as the area is quiet and beds were so comfortable. Next time I visit Boston we will 100% stay here again!

Cons: Nada
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good (en par with a Best Western-type) breakfast; but, being able to order a latte, cappucino, etc was a super nice touch. Beds were comfy. Loved that you're right on a maintained path along the bank of the Charles River...one could bike or ride all the way into Boston.

Pros: Very positive and friendly staff.
9,7 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent. Hotel was beautiful, comfortable and very clean.
Cons: Service in dining room was poor. The manager told me I was reading the menu incorrectly, then once I pointed it out to her, she acknowledged I was correct. Later came back to tell me that I should remember for future reference that what was printed on the menu was actually wrong and what she told me was right!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was great...got beautiful room upgrade and location is can't beat.

Pros: A classic. Excellent location, beautifully appointed. The staff is well trained and courteous.
Cons: The bathroom of my standard room was miniscule
6,7 Good
Pros: We had a pleasant experience up until 3 days after checking out we were charged an additional $646.02. We satisfied our bill of $1,269.26 (room and parking) in full upon our departure on Sunday, and woke up today on Wednesday (my husband and my 20th wedding anniversary) to find our bank contacting us that an additional charge from the Lenox Hotel was being processed and leaving us with .04 in our acct. Contacted the hotel immediately and the gentleman at the desk said our stay had been paid for in full and that this charge should not be there. He gave us the hotels accountant email and phone number and we promptly contacted Mike(the hotel accountant). We sent an email in the early morning and also followed up with a phone call later during the day and left a message on Mikes voicemail. We have not been contacted as of yet and our Anniversary dinner plans had to be cancelled because this mistake left our account with $0.04 in it. My husband and I are beyond aggravated and for this reason alone will never stay at this hotel again

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very accommodating after we explained our situation. They even allowed us late checkout. Great place
6,0 Good
Pros: The location was good and it was decorated very retro and on trend. Not a typical hotel chain where everything looks the same. I also liked that they had complimentary coffee and water in the lobby and the room.
Cons: The fan was broken in the room and I mentioned it to two people at the front desk. Both said that they would send someone up with a replacement. That did not happen. Front desk associates were chatting with the valet or using a personal cell.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Good location Nice bedroom and bathroom Very comfortable bed and pillows Lovely towels Nice big TV with many local and international channels Complimentary hot drinks and fruits Nice displays of "The Who" and other rock bands memorabilia

6,0 Good
Pros: the way the hotel had a theme of music and was different to normal
Cons: When we got there, there was another charge of $16.00 to use the pool and bar which we were not told about previously. Also we used the pool but there was nowhere to get drinks until 5pm, would have been good to have somewhere to get drinks.
4,0 Okay
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Dreary halls. Staff mislead us, thinking we would receive a higher floor, if we checked back in an hour. We returned in 3 hours and still was placed on lobby floor. Road construction in front of hotel. Such a mess.

Pros: Location was good. Breakfast was ok. Not the best.
Cons: Did not like breakfast included in rate.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was really comfortable and clean. I was impressed with the breakfast selection in the morning. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The record player and records in the room were a really nice touch. I would love to stay there again as I didn't get the chance to try the restaurant or the pool (which both looked amazing). The WiFi worked perfectly for me. Our room facing the stadium was really quiet and we got an undisturbed sleep every night.
Cons: I considered the price to be a bit on the expensive side but I think that is typical of Boston.

Pros: The room was amazing! All the touches I expect in a high end hotel (robe, slippers, good mattress).
Cons: That parking fee isn’t clearly specified anywhere, it’s great to get a deal on a hotel except when you have to pay an additional $44.00 (in my case that was a light fee). Also, hallways were noisy but it may have been due to a function.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was good. The location is excellent - it's close to the old center and to the new Harborside development and the Institute of Contemporary Art. 7,7 Good
Pros: The location was he best part of this hotel. Everything downtown was a short, safe walk (T stops, Fanuel Hall, Quincy Market). The room was small for the price but it was well kept. Everything was clean and staff was quick to respond to any requests we had.
Cons: Our AC/Heater broke on our last day there so we had to move rooms because it could not be fixed that night. It kept making an awful buzzing noise every few seconds and would have made sleeping impossible. It was about 8:30 at night and it was really the last thing we wanted to do. Fortunately, they had another room available, and they told us it was an upgrade (it wasn’t), but it was still a process to have to pack all of our stuff up and move it. No discount was offered for the inconveniece. Otherwise the stay would have been perfect.

Pros: Staff very helpful.
Cons: The price of brunch.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: the friendly staff and beautiful reception areas
Cons: faultless
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The quality of service at the Langham is exceptional. I've never stayed in a hotel where the staff were universally excellent, the accommodations so truly comfortable, and so many lovely extras included. I stayed following an historic blizzard in Boston, and being in that space, so warmly greeted, every need considered -- I can't say enough about how wonderful this establishment is. I would stay again, every time I'm in Boston!
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: Clean, quiet, and relatively posh with ample room size. Luxury, but not high end luxury...hotel has good bones, but is older. Still a nice place to stay
Cons: Modern amenities in rooms for technology not really available...no charging ports, limited plugs even near the desk. Also the restaurant was not open at 8:00 pm on a Tuesday, just the bar with a more limited menu.

An alluring courtyard with an interactive celestial sculpture welcomes guests to our storybook getaway on the Charles River. While Kimpton Marlowe emphasizes luxury and lavish style, it also links the intellectual and innovative spirit of Boston and Cambridge. Guests attend to the mind, body and soul in rooms that feature deep hues and (often) sensational views; thoughtful amenities place a focus on staying fit, pampered and well-fed—thanks to Bambara Kitchen + Bar—while in our care.

Overview Reviews
Located in Boston (Fenway–Kenmore), Hotel Commonwealth is within a 10-minute walk of House of Blues Boston and Fenway Park. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a 24-hour business center, and express check-in. Planning an event in Boston? This hotel features 12500 square feet (1161 square meters) of event facilities.
7,1 Good
Pros: Room size Bed quality
Cons: Staff at the reception Poor thermal insulation (cold room)
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Room is well appointed and staff is friendly and accommodating
Cons: The hotel advertises that the resort fee covers a coffee and fruits or pastry at Eastern Standard but eastern standard is consistently out of either fruit or pastry! The false advertising is a bit of a let down.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The Staff was amazing, so professional and helpful. Located near Fenway Park, not too far from historic hub. Public transportation was easy to access.
Cons: Would have liked better token "on the go" breakfast option. No access to ice without housekeeping delivery.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We were upgraded to a suite, decorated in BU memorabilia. Given that my wife and I attended BC, that was ironically funny. The suite, however, was spacious and lovely.
Cons: No criticism.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel Commonwealth is a great hotel, nice staff people who are always available to help you. The number one thing about this hotel is location location location. Kenmore station is literally right out the door, the green line can get you anywhere in the city in about 20 minutes. The rooms, even the more affordable ones are spacious. The beds are comfy with the swishy hotel pillows that everyone loves. The entire hotel is managed well, and the interiors are beautiful. I highly recommend room service after a long day of walking the city, the late night menu has some delicious bites at reasonable rates.
Cons: Only things I would caution about this hotel, the free breakfast is a is simply a small pastry (if they have not run out) and a iced or hot coffee with milk and sugar. If you want a room with a view you need to pay more and call in advance to confirm you have been given a room with a view of the city or fenway park. Last draw back is parking. The valet is over 50$ a day. We checked in on a Friday and out on a Monday. We intentionally left and checked in the way we did to avoid paying extra for parking. In the end we were only charged for two overnights because we left early.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is beautiful and modern. Everyone was very helpful from the valet to the checkin staff. The room was spacious and clean. It has a very modern look for the Fenway area.
Cons: The hotel was almost too modern. The hotel in very close to Fenway and that is why we chose this hotel. Unfortunately that is all it is really close to. They have a valet but this come with a steep parking fee.
3,0 Mediocre
Pros: It is a good location.
Cons: apart from location I did not like anything else. I had the feeling that they are trying to charge me for everything and treat me as if I was going to run away without paying. Overall it was a very uncomfortable feeling. The room was large but very badly designed. The heating was like in the highway hotels - either working too much or not working. Way too expensive for it offers.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Your front desk staff's check in and check out process was exemplary! Thank you!
Cons: Yes, the fact that we had to go to the Eastern Standard for a cup of coffee.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Nice rooms, lobby, staff, location.
Cons: Expensive parking
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location... location ... location
Cons: We had some maintenance noise early in the morning 2 days in a row ... hammering, drilling and banging notifies the front desk staff but was never follow up by a manager.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The amazing scent hits you when you walk in the entrance doors. The staff greeted us warmly and immediately offered us snacks and checked us in quickly. The room was fresh, modern, clean. Comfortable beds. Go to onsite Hawthorne for amazing cocktails!
8,0 Excellent
Pros: We drove from NJ and arrived before check-in. Our room was ready. The room was very spacious and nice. Having a smart TV in the room was a plus. It was within walking distance of all the sights we expected to visit. But be sure to have tour walking shoes.
Cons: It was a 30 min walk from the Freedom Trail. Only two small free water bottles provided. Were charged $58 per day for valet parking. We only stayed 2 days.

8,0 Excellent
Pros: location
Cons: TV was broken KEURIG coffee maker broken
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect and the facilities were clean and comfortable! The staff was very helpful.
Cons: I didn’t like that breakfast wasn’t included in your stay for the price you pay for the hotel. You are paying for location which is perfect and the views are gorgeous. They do have a star bucks in the lobby as well as the restaurant but still provide you with keurig coffee in the morning which is nice!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff, restaurant
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent. Walking distance to Little Italy and the Historic North End and the trolley stop is right outside the hotel as well as the dock for the Harbor Cruises.
Cons: They had no parking available to guests at all. If you wanted to park in their lot it was valet only and $68 per night. I feel like you pay enough for the room that parking should be less than the other available lots that are close but it was not. This was not well advertised and when we pulled up to the hotel we had no idea what to do.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location, view, cleanliness
7,9 Good
Pros: Lovely building and room. Great location.
Cons: Poor service in the restaurant with main course brought to the table when only halfway through starter. Bearing in mind the cost of the food (and $22 for a glass of wine) plus the fact that at the time there were only four tables occupied in the restaurant it was not the service that we expected, but the restaurant manager was not interested and said it was normal to serve food when “fresh” regardless of timing.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Nice room, good view and location. Staff were very helpful. Concierge Jeffrey was very helpful in obtaining our boarding passes since business center was closed for repairs.
Cons: Had several instances where room keys didn't work in elevator or room entry. Room was hot, AC didn't seem to work the first night. Complimentary or more reasonably priced breakfast would have been nice considering we paid for 2 rooms. $29 per person
7,1 Good
Pros: Lovely hotel and great location
Cons: Very expensive breakfast and parking
6,0 Good
Cons: Our room was very very small and although we didn't want housekeeping early am housekeeping was declined we didn't get trash emptied and room service was not good.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Location perfect! Loved walking to aquarium and shops and restaurants at Quincy market and boat tours ! Hotel was clean. Room small but was fine to sleep 4, not much drawers no dresser, just two smalll drawers under tv. Pool small so too crowded
Cons: Pool too small

Pros: Nice rooms and bathroom.
Cons: This hotel doesn't provide free bottled water in the rooms, at this price point that is unusual and poor practice.
6,7 Good
Cons: No turn down service. On the Saturday, when we got back to our room at 16h00 it had still not been made up.
7,9 Good
Pros: The room is very nice and spacious with great bathroom. There is a TV in the bathroom mirror built-in. Very cool.
Cons: Front desk service was not great
9,0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the location being so close to Harvard. The room was great and fell a notch above what I was expecting.
Cons: The pool was not part of the hotel but connected and therefore had weird restrictions on kids using the pool.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: the location
Cons: the price
10,0 Excellent
Cons: The price is always so high.
9,7 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent. The room was very nice and comfortable. Excellent farm to table restaurant and bar.
Cons: Although they had a parking garage, the elevator to the lobby was out of order so you had to take the stairs and the stairs lead to outside the front entrance. Very inconvenient if carrying any bags from the car and also because of sub-zero temps that weekend. Also no in and out access for self parking at $40 per night. If you leave you have to pay again.
2,0 Mediocre
Pros: Room service very fast, and extremely polite room service staff. Beleaguered front desk staff dealing with irate guests kept their patience. They need more support from mgmt. Restaurant is good; really good coffee in lobby in early a.m.
Cons: Multiple, extended power outages occurred; Hotel said due to construction, not their fault--yet construction was on their premises. Fire? alarm problems, PA messages = epic fail. Insufficient instruction to guests. Requested wakeup call--did not receive.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The bedding (down comforter, great pillows), and the air quality/climate control were outstanding. The room was spacious and beautifully appointed, and the bed was actually more comfortable than my bed and home (and I'm fussy). The pool was excellent.
Cons: No coffee maker in the room. Refrigerator packed with overpriced bar stuff. I was annoyed, but the NY Times outside the door in the morning put the smile back on my face.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location was great with excellent service and nice trait ants around in the plaza
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location is perfect, rooms are well-appointed, spacious, super comfortable bed. Dining and beverage selections are great.
Cons: Loud wall clock in room.
4,0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: The room was overpriced and shabby - the entire property needs a facelift.
