Pros: My family and I couldn't have been happier staying here. The room was great. Fit the 3 of us just fine. We had a king size bed and the staff brought up a folding twin for my daughter. The bathroom was fantastic. Giant deep tub, glass enclosed shower, and a separate room for the toilet. The bar/lounge/library down stairs was very nice. Their breakfast was fine. The staff was top notch. They are incredibly friendly and so willing to help make your stay memorable. They took care of booking tours, recommending restaurants, and booking our limousine back to the airport. The location in old Montreal couldn't have been better. It's on a quiet little street and just a short walk to everywhere. Next time I go back to Montreal I will be staying here for certain.

Pros: I absolutely loved my stay at Hotel Gault! The staff were always warm, welcoming and ready to make your day better as a guest of their hotel. The rooms were spacious, modern, and beautiful with more than enough room for storage with the unique cabinetry. Also, the hotel is in a prime location for activities in Old Montreal.

Pros: It was a lovely hotel, clean comfortable and very friendly staff which made our stay very enjoyable. We liked the hotel decorations and felt very at home and had everything we needed when we needed it.
Cons: I would recommend larger tables be added to each room, we had only a low tiny round coffee table which was taken up mostly by the coffee machine tray. We didn’t really have anywhere to put our items, even thing like a purse or a bottle of wine and would’ve loved to have a larger table to facilitate this as there was definitely space in the room for it. It also wasn’t explained to us or readily available online that parking was an additional cost, nor did the staff explain that it was a per night charge. We were told one cost at check in which was already a surprise and then only found out the total for the full weekend when checking out. Making this clear up front would have been better.

Cons: There was an event that night that we wasn't informed of in advance. As the event took over the entire main floor we had to go elsewhere for a drink and dinner. When we returned from dinner, the event was in full swing with lots of people getting pretty drunk. We escaped to our room only to be woken up several times during the night from a lot of noise caused by other guests. Slamming doors, running in the halls, screaming. My wife isn't one to complain so we suffered through it. In reflection, for the price of a single night ($350) I wish I would have pursued a discount or something. In addition, i didn't find the staff overly helpfull in finding nearby parking (I won't use valet as I've had a vehicle damaged in the past in Quebec City). Also I was looking for a Cigar shop and they didn't help at all. I had to find my own locations with my phone.

Cons: Room was not cleaned to our expectations, especially big cobwebs hanging from high ceiling. I also believe that I was charged improperly and will be trying to work through that shortly with the hotel.

Pros: Location is excellent. Rooms are beautiful (very 'Old Montreal'), well maintained, and clean. Reception, housekeeping staff, and valets were all lovely - very friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable and room was well-equipped.
Cons: Only one issue arose during our stay, in Verses restaurant off the main lobby. We went for breakfast. They refused to cook our eggs medium (which sounds ridiculous, I know, but it was explained very abruptly that the kitchen staff do not 'take orders for how to cook the food, they cook it their way'). Rude and annoying, but fine. Placed our orders, only for the server to return and explain that the kitchen could not offer the ham with our breakfast because they 'were running out and had to save some for other tables later in the morning'. Too many GREAT restaurants in this area to deal with this, so we left and went to Bocata down the street for a really excellent breakfast. I am unsure if the Verses restaurant is run independently of the Hotel Nelligan, but it is part of the hotel and therefore contributes to the overall guest experience. They need to tighten up operations there and focus on guest experience rather than the whims of a testy kitchen staff! Otherwise, a great stay. We would stay again - if we were sure that the in-house restaurant could offer better service!

My son got sick with the flu and the gentleman working at the concierge went above and beyond to help us find a clinic to take him on New Year’s Eve. Cons: Going to the bar for a cup of coffee in the morning, I received cold coffee, which they did replace, but there was a lot of chaos there. Somebody came in to stock the alcohol for the bar, three other staff there, but it still took awhile. Then while drinking my coffee a supervisor came and was reprimanding those 3 staff people, instead of taking them to the back room to do it.

Pros: It was my first time travelling with my puppy and the staff were great about it! I mention this because some places state they're pet friendly, but you can feel like you're a bit of an inconvenience but no issues here. Room was clean and comfy. Breakfast was great - I'm vegan and the options were good and the staff accommodated and again didn't make me feel like I was an inconvenience. They also offered water for my puppy. It was a short stay but overall very happy. Would recommend especially if you're travelling with a furry friend.

Cons: Front desk not friendly and not welcoming. I didn’t hear “welcome” although I stayed for 13 nights. They vacuumed the room every few days and didn’t wipe the surfaces until we called them. Simply 5 star room with 3 star surface and staff.

Cons: We did not have breakfast. Breakfast was very overpriced. The hotel furnishings are outdated. The upholstery is old, stained and dusty. The carpets in the hallways are not vacuumed. We ask asked for a soap dish and did not receive one. The cleaners did not wash the sinks or tub during our 4 day stay and our coffee was not replenished. We were forced to sign a form that we will be charged an additional $100.00 if we decide to leave the hotel sooner than our reservation end date. The room was very dark with poor lighting and dark furnishings. We had to ask for a second floor lamp so we can actually see. The toilet needed to be held down to flush. The location was not as described. It was not very close to downtown and old montreal was not as close as described. Not a lot of restaurants near by. At least there was a bagel place in the mezzanine adjacent to the hotel and a starbucks.

We stayed in a king suite for a week and they never got it right once. Coffee in lobby was terrible, very weak. Light bulbs in all our rooms were dim...no chair in master suite with the only lamp that had a decent bulb.

Wasn't the most quiet room ... the hotel seems to be empty we did not see any others guess and they have a loudge nicely decorated but when we went to sat and enjoyed a drink there price was crazy... so we went somewhere else.. samething for breakfast was nobody eating ... it s seem to me they catch your eyes with the pics and when they got your cash you screw and will paid a fortune for anything extra witch it s a shame for a big hotel like this .. i had a promo room so didn't paid regular price but other wise cheaper room was almost 180$ plus parking... no pool no sauna or hot tub so quite an expensive place.

Cons: Unfortunately I was injured in my room. There was a metal parturition from the frame of the bed and though i was aware of it. I still managed to run in to it as the space between the wall and bed was small. I did report it on check out so it could be repaired before the next guest.

Pros: We have stayed at this property a few times now because it is close to my husband’s family. The hotel is priced in accordance with other hotels of its kind in Montreal. For us, it’s a great location. It’s also close to the art district and not far from shopping on St Catherine’s Street. We find it to be clean and very accommodating. The restaurant is also fabulous.

Pros: The place was decent for the price. Went with a 10yr and 12 yr kids. They liked the city experience and pool. Was a bit noisy outside from traffic and sirens when we stayed on Jan.2nd. The beds were good. Room did not have a clock/radio. Or any heat control.

Pros: The maid who came to clean our bathroom and change the bedding was super friendly and apologetic for the filth.
Cons: No parking for tall cars. Not noted on website. Parking fee of $20 charged. Not noted on website. Bathroom filthy. Pillow case & shower curtain had black stains. You have to go through a MALL to get from parking to hotel lobby- no signs to help. WORST!

Cons: The room was not as clean as I had been accustomed to. I stayed a couple times before and don't remember it being slightly dirty...especially the corners of the bathroom. I think a little attention to detail would help a great deal.

Cons: there is no mattress cover on the bed. and there are no contour linens as well. we sleep on a flat sheet that wraps the mattress and the blanket moves when we sleep and we ended up lying directly on the mattress Itself. disgusting For 4 stars!

Pros: Nice room. Comfy bed. They very kindly upgraded us to a business class room on the 27th floor! Nice view! Liked the location very close to Rue St Denis and all the lovely restaurants there. Convenient to Rue St Catherine too. Had a great dinner at Three Amigos restaurant. We did not have breakfast at the hotel.

Cons: It took very long to check in and check out. The staff was not very helpful. The reception staff members were answering the phone while there was a huge line up for the check in and the check out. The lights in the room were not functioning and it took a while for the maintenance person to come and fix it. The ice machines were not functioning on half of the floors. The access cards were not working in the pool and fitness room. The hotel needs to be refreshed and renovated
