Lisbon hotels near Praça dos Restauradores

Pros: Staff were attentive to our needs as soon as we pulled up in front of the hotel. The hotel was beautiful and the rooms were well appointed. We enjoyed a coffee in the lobby lounge and cocktails at the roof-top bar. They had a great breakfast buffet in the morning. We enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and found a fantastic local restaurant called Sr. Lisboa which is well worth a visit for tappas-style dining.

Cons: Air conditioning in our room was not working well.

Cons: When we (group of six people) book with paid in full and check in to hotel, we DID NOT know that we have to pay the taxes 2 euros per day and the person help to check in did not mention that either. After we signed our name on the card which we DID NOT see the taxes 2 euros per day on the card, but when we check out someone put that taxes 2 euros per day on the card afterward. THAT IS NOT RIGHT. IT IS THE MATTER OF PRINCIPLE. They can put any amount on the card after we signed. We REFUSED to pay the taxes. I hope that the hotel do not charge us.

Pros: Superb service, very attentive and helpful staff, great location on Avenida Liberdade, equivalent to Champs-Elysees, lovely roof top restaurant and bar with fantastic views of Lisbon all the way to the sea.

Cons: Staff is ok, but the so called lady executive mgr was not friendly and not try to solve problems. She did not try to make a six dollar error on a 3 nite stay. She said that mistake had to make by their executive DIRECTOR . That six dollar had to charge when we check out( they did not tell us when we checked in. And our was a PREPAID stay). The washing sink basin was made of kind of soft pastic( in a 4, 5 star hotel ??).

Pros: Excellent location and very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was also very good with a lot of choice.

Cons: We stayed at the hotel for a week in August and the room was prefect. The second time we stayed at the hotel they put us in a room on the 7th floor. Big mistake!! It was very noisy because of the club/restaurant upstairs. We were awake till the early hours of the morning. I addressed the problem the following morning and the staff were extremely helpful and apologetic and moved us to another room without a hesitation.

Pros: The super comfy bed and the fact that they had a europcar rental office next door.

Cons: The staff were horrible. Check in took longer than needed. The staff interrupted us to finish their conversations with one another. Housekeeping came for turndown at 4:00?? Concierge was very standoffish.

Pros: This is a superb hotel! Coffee and snacks laid out before breakfast at 5 am for early risers! Quiet room and comfortable beds. Even allowed us to check in early.

Pros: Located right next to lush green Eduardo VII Park; very comfortable hotel equipped with all the facilities that a luxury traveller would expect; extremely friendly and helpful staff.

Cons: Breakfast buffet needs a lot of improvement. Breakfast was pretty basic not as per standard one would expect from a 5 star intercontinental. I had seen much better breakfast buffet in other InterContinentals in the region. Perhaps more choices of more international cuisines can be added. Besides, a variety of local Portuguese varieties can also be introduced. The good thing in breakfast was inclusion of Champaign in the buffet.

Pros: Comfortable hotel near metro station which was only about 5 min journey to centre. Great selection for breakfast which was included in price.

Pros: Large King size bed on an upper floor (13th), so I did not experience the noise issues that other guests have written about. Well appointed room and bathroom (excellent water pressure). Front desk staff, hostess and restaurant staff were efficient and also very friendly. The inclusive breakfast was a nice addition; a large enough selection to satisfy most tastes.

Cons: Small fitness room that wasn’t advertised in any of the hotel brochures and is not open 24/7.

Cons: Classed as a five-star hotel but its four-star at best. While the hotel is indeed clean, tidy with nice spaces and in a good location for the Metro, the room we were allocated (room 135) was very, very small. The bathroom was nearly as big as the actual room and was a total waste of space which would have been far better utilised as more space in the room. The space down each side of the bed was around 10 inches either side. At the end of the bed was a silly little round table and a single chair which we ended up putting in the bathroom to give us more space to move around the room. Also at the end of the bed was a lamp with a large shade which I walked into every time I got out of bed. The curtains in the room (3 separate layers) were 6 inches too long, dragging on the floor and a total trip hazard since they were on the floor next to the bed. The curtain rods did not close the curtains properly which meant much tugging and pulling trying to close them. Opening them was just as difficult since the heavy layers did not slide well at all on the tracks. The breakfast hot food was very disappointing, overly salty and greasy. The rest of the items were the same every day. The only saving grace was the fruit which was very good. Coffee and tea were serviced via two machines that you had to work yourself. One of them kept failing resulting in long queues just to get a hot drink. Hardly five-star service. The aircon in our room was not anywhere near cold enough. Set at the lowest temperature, it still did not effectively cool our tiny room. While in general, the staff were ok, the reception staff were grumpy at best. I got the feeling they were very glad it was near the end of the season. Overall disappointed. Nothing about this place says 5-star. There are many better hotels in Lisbon.

Pros: Lovely art and sculptures, breakfast buffet and opportunity for hot tub and sauna experiences in very pretty tiled setting.

Cons: We requested separate twin beds, but the bed was made up as a king bed - the staff responded by having housekeeping staff separate and remake the beds, which seemed inefficient. The balcony was a nice feature, but grey and drab. The sitting area was lovely, but only had one chair. I was disappointed there wasn’t written information about the beautiful paintings and sculptures - and the staff weren’t able to answer questions.

Pros: Very clean, lots of seating and relaxing areas. Great breakfast. Polite staff. Good luggage storage facilities. Good access to Red or Blue line Metro stations, although Lisbon authorities need to work on signing their presence and location above ground.

Cons: Would have liked to have eaten in the restaurant but the menus were a little bit fancy for our tastes - more European standards may have swayed us to eat in.

Cons: Could have been replenished a bit quicker. No tea bags for 10 minutes no plates same.

Cons: Elevator would not go to the correct floor. Worse elevator I have ever experienced. In bar got an orange juice. 12 ounces for 3 euros. Same server at dinner 6 ounces for 3 euros.
