Pros: Got a good deal on Kayak. The internet is GREAT, which makes me happy because internet seems to be an ongoing drama all over Europe. Welcome to the 21st century Europe, crawl out of your castles and get online. Breakfast was fine, had some whiskey in the bar as a nightcap. Location was great, fun to walk around the area.

Pros: The location is perfect, and especially impressive for the price. The staff left a little to be desired - the service was a bit perfunctory.

Pros: Location in the heart of Edinborough.
Cons: Booked 6 months prior to stay. Realized the next day, that I had booked a room for Saturday night, when I would be in Edinburgh only for Friday night. Was unable to switch nights even though it had been less than 12 hours from the time that the reservation was made, and the reservation was six months in the future. Had to reserve a second night. Rooms were clean with a modern open concept layout. Tried a bit too hard to be hip, no trash can in the room itself only a 1 gallon sized bin in the bathroom and no tub in the bath.

Pros: I chose this hotel because it was centrally located, easy to walk to from the train station, and a good price. It was exactly as advertised - no more, no less. If you are just looking for a place to lay your head at night while exploring Edinburgh, IBIS is a good choice. The staff were friendly and efficient, the room and bathroom was clean, and check-in/out was simple and direct. Overall I would stay here again.
Cons: In over 20 years of travel, every hotel except one has fallen short on pillows. Doesn't matter where, they are universally flat and usually require 3 or so to be good for me - I'm a side sleeper who likes fluffy firm pillows.

Pros: Easily located from Haymarket train or Airport bus stop, approx. 5mins walk. Able to walk to Grassmarket then to Royal Mile etc... 15mins. Restaurant within close proximity.Good security / restricted access to hotel floors - only by key card activation on lift. Staff very pleasant and informative.
Cons: Bathroom was clean, but dated, lack of sufficient toiletries, especially if you are restricted to allowance with hand luggage on planes...

Cons: Slow check in - no-one seemed to know what they were doing. Room booked for 3 but only made up for 2 (Someone else got to their room and it was already occupied! Keys had to be reset as they stopped opening door. Room cold - none of us slept well.

Pros: Hotel is well situated two minutes walk from Haymarket Station and maybe 81-10 minutes from the start of Princess Street, surrounded by pubs, bars, cafes and restaurants, a great area to base yourself. Hotel itself is modern, bright and welcoming with comfortable rooms and a terrific breakfast
Cons: Small lifts tend to get busy in the mornings, apart from that very happy

Pros: Bumped off flight due to snow, kayak found this fab hotel 3 kl from the airport for me. The staff were great as was my room, the price was amazing value.

Pros: The people we spoke with were very friendly and helpful. We appreciated everyone's kindness and understanding on a mildly stressful travel day.
Cons: The late night room service menu was very limited, expensive, and we're not sure we got everything we ordered. We ordered 2 sandwiches and got what looked like 2 halves. They were supposed to come with crisps, but we didn't get those.

Cons: Air conditioner wouldn't work all night in room, despite having guy come "fix" it twice. Could have made due if we could've opened the window to the nice air outside, but the windows don't open. I expect this sort of nonsense from a $25 hostel, not a $350/night hotel.
