Excellent 10,0
Pros: Very welcoming. Especially since I arrived after a long day of travel. Made me feel at home.
Excellent 9,6
Pros: I was able to access the room even though I turned up early, it was very comfy and there was extra blankets and heater just in case I needed it (I didn't). They were very accommodating of my requests to store a large case, and leaving very early in the morning. It was a quick walk to the shops and pubs for food. Very close to the train station, and taxi to the airport only cost £6 at 5 am. Would stay again.

Pros: Man at the reception was unbelievably helpful and friendly, couldn’t have helped anymore. Sorry never caught his name but excellent service. Went out of his way to help and make sure we enjoyed our stay.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The food was excellent and so was the staff. They give you maximum attention and help.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9,2
Pros: Beds were set up as three singles but staff cheerfully altered it to a double and single at our request. Everything needed for a comfortable stay was there (ironing, hairdryer, tea-making etc.). Great choice at breakfast. Restaurant meals really good.
Cons: My daughter, who lives nearby, booked an evening meal for us all on the hotel's central booking system but when she phoned to change the time they said they had no record of the booking! She and her partner were to join us for breakfast the next morning and again, they had no record of the booking! She was less than impressed by the staff member who dealt with it as they almost implied that she shouldn't have come and sat with us! Luckily she was compensated for it when going to pay. Another minus point is that my other daughter who was staying with us in the hotel was charged extra on both mornings for having scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. If you are a greedy person you can eat as much as you like from the buffet plus have a full Scottish breakfast and pay no extra yet if you are like my daughter and only have some fruit salad from the buffet plus scrambled eggs with smoked salmon then you are charged an extra £2.95! That seems grossly unfair.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Great staff, polite, discrete.
Cons: More herbal teabags.
Good 7,5
Pros: Decor , service
Cons: Lighting in the room was very dim

Excellent 10,0
Pros: Everything, i love old hotels this was great
Cons: We had a lovely relaxing time from start to finish, tha staff were great the breakfast and meal were lovely and Lavina was lovely
Mediocre 3,0
Pros: Nothing particularly. Checking out was the best part really. The gentleman who checked me in at reception was very polite, it went down hill from then on.
Cons: Having to pay for wifi is ridioculous, especially in a place where there is no mobile phone signal. The drinks in the bar were horrendously overpriced and served by possibly one of the most unwelcoming and miserable looking humans I have ever encountered. The restaurant was dire looking with no atmospher & the breaksfast extortionate. The rooms single glazed and cold as could not control radiator....the bedroom had a very dated and worn avacado coloured batsuit, cracked tiles and mould in corners. Single beds that were smaller than standard. The floors creaked and the walls allowed sound to travel through them. This is a place that accomodates to low budget bus tours and travelling workers. I would not ever visit this place again or recommend to anyone.
Mediocre 2,8
Pros: The building and the surrounding.
Cons: The rooms are poorly maintained. Most of the room are not in the old more beautiful part of the building which is shown in the photographs. I saw any people complain of their rooms during my stay there. The bath panel in my room was broken and some of the electrical switches were open in the room. This place is not worth any price and the hotel must be inspected by HNS.
Good 7,5
Pros: Easy check in and was the nearest hotel to our function
Cons: In dire need of a Refurb and I believe there are a few difficulties in buying drinks at the bar with a card
Good 6,0
Pros: The location and setting was nice . A bit far out of the way but that was okay .
Cons: The rooms could do with getting updated . Our room was not very clean sweetie wrapping and socks under the bed . Soap dish still had soap scum on it and hairs in the drawers . Food was not great but then we paid £10 for a 3 course meal so can’t really complain. Staff could do with being a bit more friendly and smile occasionally felt in dining room that they did not want you to be there. And when you spoke to them they did not answer back very rude . Don’t think we would stay again
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Do you want to walk to your room past a phalanx of liveried bellhops, across carpet with pile an inch deep, through doors and corridors finished in the best contemporary styles, into a room with every possible luxury? Do you want to dine from an extensive a-la-carte menu proffering a multitude of nouvelle cuisine dishes, attended by the smartest of silver-service waiters? Then pay more than twenty times as much, and stay elsewhere. The original Adamton House is a splendid old manor house in lovely grounds, with a later (1970s?) set of rooms built on in a kind of dogleg shape. The woodwork in the original building is magnificent. There is the potential here, because of the original building and the country setting, to be a very upmarket hotel. To make it that, would require a great deal of expenditure, and accommodation would then have to be commensurately priced. And I wouldn't be staying there! As it is, the hotel offers extremely good value in a pleasant location (not within walking distance of anywhere - you need a car). Yes, bits of trim here and there may be a little tired looking, the carpet may not be perfect everywhere, and the paintwork a bit worn on some doors, but the staff are very helpful and pleasant, and I found that everything worked and the room was comfortable. This was my second stay - I spent three night the week before. On the previous stay, I felt a little chilly at night, as hot water to the radiator went off late at night. This time the weather was colder, and it stayed on, so I was able to turn the radiator down to a setting that kept the room comfortable all night. The hotel was much busier this time, with several coach parties. For £10 you can get a three-course meal with a choice of two different starters, main courses and deserts, served buffet style. Good homely fare, and I must say that all the food I had was delicious. I made a bit of a pig of myself with the rice pudding! WiFi in the room, as before, was rock solid.
Cons: The old piano in the lobby needs to go. It's well past it. The carpeting in the Reception area is a bit grubby-looking, with the heavy traffic there.
Excellent 9,4
Pros: Price. Location. Staff
Cons: The hotel looks tired in places
Excellent 9,2
Pros: Friendly staff, good breakfast and chef very nice.Perfect stop off after a long flight and near train station and air port.

Excellent 8,0

Cons: Very dated
