Pros: The room was very nice. The bar was welcomimg. Breakfast OK. Staff very friendly. Would stay again.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The room size, Bathroom, Location, Breakfast We managed to get quite a big corner room with a huge bathroom. Bed was comfortable, room came with iron and iron press which came in handy. Really good breakfast with ample choice. The ingredients were all good quality. Even the juice was pure and seemed organic. Couldn't ask for more and will be coming back!
Good 6,0
Pros: breakfast was very good
Cons: We did not expect to be staying in the garden rooms , although room we had was clean and spacious the bathroom was getting tired. The only problem we had was that the building was too hot even after turning off the radiators . As a consequence of the room being too hot we had to have the window open which resulted in a lot of traffic noise which kept me awake most of the night
Excellent 10,0

Pros: The Overall Ambiance and the superb facilities
Cons: Nothing
Okay 5,0
Pros: The building itself is beautiful and the great hall is magnificent.
Cons: We had an issue with our room which the duty manager did resolve by moving us after we showed him photos of what we were unhappy with. As he did genuinely seem shocked by what we showed him and he acted swiftly to move us and as we were leaving this morning it seemed that he had instigated a deep clean of our first room I won’t share the photos. The hotel unfortunately does not live up to its billing of a luxury experience. The rooms are tired, with things missing or broken (TV not working in the first room and the toilet seat and towel rail loose and coming away in the second room), the pool area seemed tired (the lockers all seemed to be broken or out of order). The staff didn’t seem particularly well trained or particularly happy. The breakfast was good but all the other food we tried was well below standard for the price charged (the chicken in the Caesar salad tasting like it had been marinated in washing up liquid). As I work in the luxury property industry it may be that my expectations are set high. However it is my belief that luxury comes from attention to the smallest detail and it is this attention to detail that is missing at Mar Hall. We had really wanted to love this hotel as it makes a very convenient break away for us but unfortunately we would be highly unlikely to return.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: The staff were super accommodating and very friendly. Loved seeing dogs on the property. The spa and pool was lovely. The room we ended up in was super nice with a huge bath. The dinner as [mostly] fantastic particularly the cheese board.
Cons: We initially booked a double room, however when we got to the room (which was miles away in a recently flooded extension the 'double' bed was 2 twin beds pushed together with a top sheet over them. In addition, the mattresses were incredibly uncomfortable and paper thin. For a 5 star hotel, you would not expect two single mattresses pushed together. We were upgraded by the lovely and facilitative Craig at reception to a junior suite and the bed was incredibly comfortable. We ate in the Cristal fine dining restaurant which was lovely a part from the mediocre under-cooked vegetarian main course (there was a few tables that ordered the mushroom risotto and did not finish it).
Excellent 8,0
Pros: The Steam room, however site should have a Jacuzzi.
Cons: The internal décor is damaged in certain areas and could be repaired.
Okay 5,8
Pros: Big comfortable bed. Food was nice.
Cons: The whole place is a bit dated. Not much atmosphere. Not as grand as the advertising makes it out to be. There wasn’t much deluxe about the ‘deluxe room’
Good 6,0
Pros: Room was big and the bathroom was great!! Room had some good privacy when you enter with double door and a small hallway before you enter the room, and good view as well, Staff was great very polite and helpful. Beautiful view from the hotel.
Cons: Booked a deluxe room and the bed was most uncomfortable bed I have ever had, at least have king size bed or double in there. It was just two beds put together and the mattress was rock solid. Drinks were really pricey. Bottle of water and can of coke for £12.30??? Seriously that is a joke! Jacuzzi was outside and had to let them know in advanced before you go there, sauna wasn't working the day we got there so had to go the following day before checking out and 1 was fixed by then.

Excellent 8,8
Pros: Closeness to the conference venue.
Cons: Quality of the restaurant.
Good 6,0
Pros: The breakfast, the staff, room layout. Especially want to give special thanks to Scott ( Duty Manager) & Ainsley ( Receptionist). They really worked well to make our stay enjoyable and we’re available to assist us with all queries. Loved young man In the bar in the restaurant (Jonathan ) who was so friendly, had great sense of humour and prompt when serving us food and drink.
Cons: 1 Flush in toilet very weak so did not flush frequently, residue from (past occupants most probably) noticeable in toilet upon arrival. 2 Males changing room in swimming area, left in poor unhygienic dirty condition, (reported from partner) 3 more then one light not working in room upon arrival 4 Extractor fan Grill in room extremely dirty. 5 Room fan not sufficiently heating room, in which resulted in draft.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Bed was comfy. Spacious room. Good views from window. Lift was fast.
Cons: A microwave would've been great but not an issue. Request wasn't originally fulfilled until after we checked in. WiFi could've been better.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: We are regular visitors to the property and love the layout of the rooms and the ambiance of the hotel as a whole
Cons: N/A
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Beautiful hotel and was the perfect location for our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Good 7,0
Pros: The location is perfect for anyone attending an event in the Hydro. Upon arrival the receptionist offered me a choice of room so asked for one with a river view and a higher floor. The reception staff are a true asset to the hotel.
Cons: The room wasn't clean. I work in a hotel myself checking rooms and whoever checked this room left some pretty straightforward things in the bathroom unclean. The left corner of the bath still had soap scum and the outside of the bath itself had a dried line of something very unpleasant looking all the way down it. This was a deep red, almost looked like blood but I can't comment on what it truly was as I didn't exactly want to touch it. It put a sour taste in my mouth as the room wasn't cheap but I didn't say anything at the time due to how positive I felt about the reception staff and how welcoming they had been.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: A great location, very friendly helpful staff. If you are going to a concert in the Hydro or SECC or the Armadillo it is the best in this area.
Cons: N/A
Excellent 8,8
Pros: It was central for what we needed along with a treat, having the club lounge.
Okay 5,8
Pros: Access to SECC - bedroom
Cons: Difficult to get a table for dinner , uninteresting menu and food a poor standard evening restaurant staff and food quality poor, battered fish had no taste, steak tough and far to thin to get a rare steak
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Clean rooms and nice pool
Cons: Bad location if you don't have a car
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Great amenities and customer service. Very comfortable room. Good location in Glasgow with a quick walk to Argyle Street. Had everything I expected in a hotel.
Cons: The only issue we ran into was that our room key was de-activated a day earlier than our reservation ended, so we needed to return to the lobby for the help. The people at the desk were very accommodating and quick to fix it, so that was great.
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Almost everything, bar area is great!
Cons: Gym has great equipment but layout and size is poor.

Pros: Location to the west end
Cons: One of the bedrooms were cold as the radiator didn’t work.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Great area in Glasgow
Cons: Nothing was great
Excellent 8,0
Pros: An authentic Glasgow building with original features. Clean, basic and quiet rooms . Small cafe and bar open to non residents. Friendly, helpful staff. Very tasty cooked breakfast. Great location for the Botanic Gardens and amazing, independent coffee shops and restaurants.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: The location in the Westend of Glasgow is superb and it sit among some of the most beautiful 19th century homes in Glasgow. The hotel has been updated with the latest colours that makes the traveller feel at peace. It is a very welcoming entrance however once you are standing at the reception desk there is a sightly view of the back of the kitchen with all its pots. Rather not have to see this because it throws one off immediately as a boutique hotel. I was upgraded to a larger room and found the decor rather like a ballroom but nonetheless it was clean and quiet. I think I will return as it is a nice secret and location without the price and superficial ambiance.
Cons: I had forgotten to pack my toiletries and when I arrived and asked if the hotel had guest toothbrushes and paste, I was informed I could buy them at the corner convenience store, thank you very much!
Excellent 9,6
Pros: The room & bathroom were separate & both comfortable & both rooms had enough space for things to go. The hotel is very close to local bus routes to Glasgow city centre. There is Hillhead high street with local shops & Hillhead Subway station. The hotel is also close to some restaurants.
Cons: They did not have vegan options for meals, luckily there are lots of Vegan Restaurants in Glasgow such as The 78, Stereo, The Flying Duck, Mono & The 13th Note. The hotel room was also cold alot & the radiator did take time to heat up on some days.

Pros: Good location for us
Cons: The room was far too hot and the double bed really needs replacing
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The staff were amazing and so friendly
Cons: Not a thing everything was perfect
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Great location
Okay 5,8
Pros: Location was good and free parking, easy to find.
Cons: The staff were so under trained or under inspired to offer any experience, we had to battle to find a bar man or waiter, once we did, it was a job to keep hold of them long enough to order anything. Even though the hotel was empty, they just wondered off and never came back. Once we did eventually land a member of staff, they took forever to bring our drinks (only 6 of us and it took 20 mins) the food order (only 5 ate a main meal) they took over an hour to arrive. The waiter never came back and asked if we wanted sauces or if everything was ok? Just never came back. The table wasn’t cleared and when we finally found anyone again, we had been without drinks for at least 20 mins (finished the last ones) even tried to go to the bar ourselves, but no staff. Then we asked pudding, to our complete shock, they said the kitchen was closed! We finished our main meal 40 mins ago and never saw another staff member to ask. There was a lone businessman in the restaurant who had a lot to say to the staff on his way out and obviously suffered a similar experience. The 2 staff members sniggered behind his back when he walked away and then went off somewhere, even though we were still waiting to order a drink. The food wasn’t brilliant either, but we were never asked. I wanted to inform the hotel manager in the morning, but I had to leave early and the reception staff had no interest in asking me if my stay was ok? Basically poor customer service and that’s what let the whole place down.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Pleasant staff, lovely room and nice breakfast
Cons: The price was higher than the service and facilities on offer
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Nice clean hotel with friendly staff ideal location if attending Ibrox stadium will definitely use again

Pros: Comfortable room and very quiet.
Excellent 9,7
Pros: We enjoyed the cleanliness and kindness of the staff and everything we met.
Cons: We did not get to go on the tour we wanted or at all. The tour was booked up and the remainder of or time was to short of a stay in order to see what we wanted to see.
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Handy location for city centre and west end
Cons: Parking charges
Excellent 8,5
Pros: Nice rooms, comfy bed (if a little firm) and good breakfast. Location is perfect for the west end.
Good 7,0
Pros: Beds were good
Cons: Had to pay another £20 for breakfast which was very disappointing ,as I thought breakfast was included for £104.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Location, friendly staff, comfortable room, good shower
Cons: Very noisy on Sunday night till about midnight. My room was on the 1st floor. No fitness room on site
Excellent 8,0
Pros: location was perfect for the purpose of my trip. Staff were so friendly and helpful especially the concierge guy (unfortunately forgot his name) my room was upgraded to a very spacious room with two double king size beds bathroom was perfectly clean and well equipped
Cons: The hotel interior ambiance looks old and not renovated newly, but still clean and facilitated Car parking is not free, a remarkable group like ((Hilton)) should afford free car parking for their guests or at least for their honor members I had free WiFi as an honor member, but for the guests not members they should pay for WiFi in their rooms In spite of my room was upgraded to a more spacious one, but it was parking view, not a garden view as per my online booking.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Really friendly staff
Cons: Room overlooked botanic gardens ie main road and was very noisy
Okay 5,4
Pros: Location is good for the university. But giving the service and food is rather stay a bit further somewhere more decent
Cons: The food is awful. My pizza was a cheap out of the freezer no flavour and high dough horror. The staff we’re rude, unhelpful and poorly trained. The front desk texted me 4 times in 24hrs to make sure ‘everything was OK’. Extremely annoying and pointless invasion of privacy

Pros: Location in the West End is fantastic.. Lot of friendly pubs & restaurants..
Cons: Its just been taken over by hotel up the road. Was very good value for money. Comfy good size roms. Some rooms looking a bit tired and worn, But should be a very good standard when refurb is finished.. had breakfast in their other hotel called The Argyll, that one is excellent...
Excellent 9,0

Excellent 8,0
Pros: Near the Buzz Byers Toad
Cons: not much Pretty good over all
Excellent 9,2
Pros: Friendly helpful staff and car parking
Cons: The property was basic clean and I enjoyed my stay
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Practically next door to the venue I was going to, huge bathroom and plenty of space
Cons: Lots of stairs
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Freshly cooked breakfast made to order is excellent.
Cons: Windows to front of hotel need double glazing or soundproofing better. Very busy main road outside, hence constant traffic noise. Or supply earplugs!!
Excellent 8,3
Pros: The location and cost were the best aspects. Room was spacious and comfortable.
Cons: The breakfast was passable but not amazing. But considering it is very cheap, providing a breakfast is a bonus.
Excellent 9,2
Pros: Modern shower room, good location for west end of Glasgow, good value as includes breakfast
Cons: Lack of a lift means hauling your luggage up the stairs
Excellent 8,3
Pros: Location was perfect for our use
Cons: Creaking floor and net curtains in bathroom looked a bit discoloured
Excellent 8,2
Pros: Our stay was great. De rooms where clean, the beds comfortable and we had WiFi. The breakfast was also good. There is also a parking lot for your car. And the staff is very friendly.
Cons: The beds roll when you go lie in it. Bit irritating

Good 7,1
Pros: Bathroom was great I especially love the bathtub. The hotel was really cozy.
Cons: It could have been a lot cleaner. After we checked in I noticed someone else's hair in the bathroom. A little noisy. Room was a bit small for the two of us.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The room was comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant was excellent.
Cons: No complaints.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Lovely hotel and staff all very welcoming and helpful we will definitely be back.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Hotel is spotless and cant fault anything... staff all very welcoming and friendly.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Lovely hotel could not complain about anything, staff very welcoming and friendly.
Good 7,0
Pros: breakfast was good. There was a good choice available
Cons: I strongly objected to being charged £5 parking for our overnight stay. If I am staying in a hotel... I expect to be able to park for free!
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Great bed, large buffet breakfast, late checkout, good west end location and handy for the train into town, cheap, onsite parking.
Cons: M&S across the car park were a bit noisy in at 5am.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The staff are good and the rooms are a good size to and clean
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Alexander was lovely on reception and manger scott went out way to.help
Mediocre 3,4
Pros: parking
Cons: Stayed here before without any problems but this time I booked a double bed, only to find two singles pushed together, which kept coming apart when slept on which made the stay extremely uncomfortable. The duvet was too small for the bedsheets and the bedsheets weren't fitted properly, looked like a rush job. To top off, I was on the 4th floor, 436, and all morning the housekeeping staff wouldn't keep the noise down and respect guests peace and quiet. There is an "office" at the end of the corridor on the forth floor where staff congregate. I had to bang my door several times so the staff realised that their noise was exessive. Did I mention the lift was broken too? Also, only had one towel in the room when two guests were staying. Overall, a total shambles.
Excellent 8,6
Pros: Staff were excellent. Friendly and very eager to help.
Cons: Room was quite warm but fans were available upon request

Poor 1,0
Pros: The clean towels & the hall carpet was a nice black watch tartan.
Cons: everything!! The fusty smell when you entered the room hit you like a wall!! When you room closed the door, not only was the handle & door manky the wall was peeling not seen paint in yrs, the broken window was our ventilation, the beds you could feel every spring & the bases were torn, the hot water tap constantly dripped and turned 80 degrees when you touched it, the cold tap stopped occasionally, the sink dripped & had new silicone on the top of the old stuff which was manky & behind the sink was minging had not been cleaned in years the sink shelf was squint & facing forward so anything you put on it fell off, the shower had mold on it, the floor was uneven, but carpet was clean.. there was a serious amount of banging doors till well after 12.30am from the room next door, which turned out to be the owner & her young daughter, she denied hearing any noise.. the furniture was dirty, cobwebs everywhere, upstairs the breakfast the ham & cheese were both uncovered, the floor was heavily stained and the electrics need seriously rewired, i had no cutlery or cup but the owner took one from a table that had just been used by a family.. we informed the owner who was shocked to hear the complaint as she had stayed in that room a few weeks ago.... even the hanging plant at the front door was plastic... to be honest im not a complainer but i wouldn't even let a tramp stay over and im horrified how much it cost for what we got.
Poor 1,0
Cons: crack in sink. leaky shower, tissues that were very visable under the bed. bin hadnt been emptied. no hoysekeeping done. too tired to complain
Good 7,5
Pros: The property had what we were looking for, for our business trip, WiFi, parking and breakfast. The room was large and comfortable and had an en suite bathroom.
Cons: The breakfast was a little basic and it was a little everyone for themselves. We were only there one night, but there seemed to just be one young man overseeing proceedings and he was doing everything. He was working hard, but he couldn't be in two places at once. There is no lift in the property, so looking for him for information was a had job
Mediocre 2,0
Cons: It took 20min to answer the doorbell when we arrived and the car was trapped when we wanted to leave.
Mediocre 2,0
Pros: The location of the apartment is very central, and it's a good size for a family. The woman looking after the property was as helpful as she could be.
Cons: The keys to the apartment were with someone looking after the apartment for airbnb who hadn't returned them, so we were unable to lock the room when we were out and had to take our valuables with us. The television doesn't work and this was known to the staff prior to us checking in, but we weren't notified. Half the pillows didn't have pillowcases. The kitchen was poorly equipped with very little crockery or cutlery, which wasn't an issue for us as we went out, but would be for a party of 6 eating in. There was no soap or toiletries as stated in the listing.
Okay 4,0
Pros: Great Location for us.
Cons: No towels.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: The breakfast was adequate and the staff was pleasant and friendly.
Cons: the shower was in a dark area and it looked like it could benefit from a deep cleaning.
Okay 5,0
Pros: breakfast was only continental and very basic
