Very comfy bed
Breakfast a little disappointing - wasn’t offered the a la carte menu
Beautiful old building
Nothing not to like
The overall decor was nice and the staff were pleasant.
There was a role of masking tape left in our room and the wallpaper was peeling off the bathroom wall. We waited in a que at breakfast for 15 minutes and when taken to our table walked past 10 or 11 empty tables which weren’t being cleaned quick enough for a que to be formed.
Welcome from the staff, room quality and room service, excellent location, hotel ambience and hotel facilities. Food was good at both breakfast an in the Printing Press restaurant
Struggling to think what could be improved - a slightly larger bathroom and more ergonomic breakfast arrangement perhaps but we couldn't complain about anything.
Need to check on overcharge for room after paying in advance.
The InterContinental Edinburgh The George has been welcoming hotel guests since 1881. At its heart are five listed Georgian townhouses, built in 1775 as homes for Edinburgh’s most prosperous citizens. The hotel is an ideal base from which to explore the city or conduct business. The Printing Press Bar & Kitchen was once home to acclaimed novelist Susan Ferrier, whilst Burr & Co. is a lovely quirky coffee shop with a devoted local following. The hotel also boasts 8 meeting rooms and equipped gym.
