Fiji entry details and exceptions

Prior to traveling, all Permit Holders must request Fijian Immigration Department for authority to travel. All request to be email to borderrequest@immi.gov.fj with the following supporting documents: Passport Bio-Data Page; Permit Letter or Stamp; and Travel Itinerary.

Dual citizen will need to provide evidence of their Fijian Citizenship status. They will be required to provide one of the following evidences at the check in counter: A valid Fijian Passport, Citizenship Certificate of country of residence.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Visitors from South Africa must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departing to Fiji.

Details and exceptions

Travelers must have a medical certificate with a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result issued within 72 hours prior to departure and must email the test result to borderrequest@immi.gov.fj before traveling.

Quarantine requirements

Visitors from South Africa will need to quarantine for 14 days upon entering Fiji.

Details and exceptions

Foreign nationals are required to pay the full cost of quarantine and testing. A COVID-19 test will be again conducted at the quarantine facility.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Travellers returning from Fiji must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departure to South Africa.

Details and exceptions

Travelers are required to present a negative PCR test result obtained not more than 72 hours before the date of travel.

Children under the age of 5 are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 test.

Quarantine requirements

Visitors returning from Fiji are not required to quarantine upon entering South Africa.

Details and exceptions

Travelers who are unable to present a negative PCR test result must be tested on arrival at their own cost and must quarantine for 10 days in case the PCR test result is positive.
