Pros: Lovely guest house, Ideal location for getting around the island. Short walk to the town, beach and pier where there are plenty of restaurants/bars. The walk back is up hill. Owners very helpful, nothing was too much trouble - small bar where we finished our evening off each night.

Pros: We liked the friendliness of the proprieter and the breakfast. Winston and Mabel the dogs were very friendly and enjoyed meeting our 4 legged companion, Freddie.
Cons: Hot water was along time coming through but nothing to really speak of.
6,3 Good
Pros: Owner was friendly and the breakfast was tasty. Room was a good size.
Cons: Dogs having free run of property when states in welcome book it would only be between 10am and 2pm. Dog ran and jumped up my partner soaking wet and muddy after a walk whilst he sat in the bar. Then at breakfast it was very awkward having one trying to jump up to get our toast and another trying to lick my partners knife. I had to ask for them to be removed from the room whilst we ate which was done straight away but it felt embarrassing having to ask. My partners jeans and t-shirt both ended up dirty due to the dogs. Decor needs some TLC, pictures on booking.com makes it look better than it is.

Pros: It was clean and cosy
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Best was the welcoming committee! Winston (chocolate lab), Mabel (mixed breed rescue puppy with a bit of terrier) and Spot (senior friendly cat). I lost my dog in February and miss her terribly. It was wonderful to be greeted by happy faces and wagging tails. I felt immediately at home. Grateful for a lovely ground floor single en suite with no stairs. First rate service at breakfast cooked to order, plus fruit, juice, cereal, yogurt, coffee and tea. Every bit of my stay was wonderful.
Cons: When I first arrived in Sandown, it seemed a greater distance from beach and bus stop than I anticipated. But I had been traveling all day and was tired. It actually was a very good location.

(Some nice chats about our mutual love for David Bowie !) The outdoor swimming pool was an added bonus; especially as we had some warm, sunny weather while we were there. Room to park at the hotel car park. Definitely have plans to visit in the future!

Pros: Jan is a lovely friendly hostess, there if you need her and speedily meeting requests and providing information but inconspicuous otherwise. 8,0 Excellent
Pros: Good value for money Friendly staff We normally stay in much more expensive Hotels But was righ for the price

10,0 Excellent
Pros: We had a sea view. It’s dead opposite the pier and location was great.
Cons: I can’t think of anything to be honest, only stayed one night and it was fine.
5,8 Okay
Cons: My room was comfortable and the breakfast adequate BUT... I arrived at 10.15 p.m., when Reception was, as I had been informed, closed. I tried the front door which was, as I had been informed, closed. There was a member of staff inside who saw me but took no notice of me. I then tried the Night Bell; there was no response, not surprisingly, since, as I learner later, it was not working; the staff knew this. To open the door I had to know the code for the entryphone; the receptionist, though friendly and ioformative about her home town, had omitted to give this to me, as she should have done whether I requested it or not. My mobile phone, without roaming, was unable to connect me with the two emergency numbers posted on the front door. I now faced the possibility of having to sleep the night on the beach. Fortunately a couple of other visitors arrived after a while, and found themselves in just the same position as myself. They did however succeed in ringing the emergency numbers, and were given the code. The entryphone was so old and worn that it was hard to make out the numbers by the buttons, but after several tries the door opened. The barmaid, to whom we complained, could not have been more helpful and apologetic, but the faults in thr system were made quite clear, Intending visitors should be on their guard,
5,4 Okay
Pros: Pillows are very uncomfortable
8,3 Excellent
Pros: I am 83, and not as mobile as I once was. My eyesight does not permit me to drive any more. The hotel is located at virtual sea level, with no public transport at that level. The nearest bus stop is at the top of a very steep hill. If I had been aware of this before booking, I could well have had second thoughts. On the first evening, we went to the restaurant for a meal, and were informed that we should have booked. On reading my leaflet, I could see that this was required, but think that Reception should be advised to remind visitors when booking in. There was a good range of choice for breakfast, and the 'full English breakfast' was a good start for the day. My wife and I enjoyed our stay, and would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel - TO PEOPLE I CONSIDERED FIT ENOUGH TO CLIMB THE HILL!
Cons: If I were on the hotel's management, I would lobby the local bus company to provide a convenient service.
