Excellent 10,0
Pros: Gorgeous little hotel, renovated to a high standard, lovely bar, nice garden, AMAZING breakfast, fantastic value for money, super-helpful, friendly staff - could not fault the place.
Cons: If I'm being picky the ensuite bathroom in our bedroom could do with a bit of TLC and renovation, but we only stayed one night so it really did not matter one bit :-)

Excellent 10,0
Pros: I have stayed in too many hotels than I care to remember in my lifetime and this one is a gem. Without exception the tastiest breakfast I've ever had in a hotel and served by one of the most pleasant young ladies I've come across in the hospitality industry. Excellent decor, well thought out. I could write good things forever, Did I mention Apple TV? Oh, and a mini bar that actually cools the drinks. Spotless inside and out. Adequate parking space. 10 out of 10 without hesitation

Okay 4,2
Cons: No parking. Cost a small fortune to park car for the 3 day stay.
Good 7,1
Pros: Firstly I didn’t like the shower & tub @ all you definitely need to change that . Secondly parking it’s awful why should I find where to park and pay for parking myself after all I paid £165.00 a night?????????. I won’t come back there again or even to refer a friend
Cons: Didn’t like shower and parking
Okay 5,8
Pros: Located near the docks in an easy taxi ride. Room was large & clean. Bed was comfy.
Cons: Prices in the bar/resturant. Was very dear. Our bathroom was very smelly, think it had been flooded as it smelt of damp/fust and the celing was brown. It affected our breathing. Only had one curtain which covered half the window so when morning came the light shown through and woke us.
Okay 5,8
Pros: Location
Cons: Comfort of bed and facilities and cleanliness were not very good
Good 7,5
Pros: good location, good value,
Cons: breakfast service could have been better - very disorganised in restaurant
Good 7,5
Pros: Location was great - within walking distance to the town. Food was good. Reception staff good
Cons: The downstairs shop was way over priced - £2.95 for a bottle of 500ml water. Pillows aren't great. Bathroom was a bit dingy - decor poor, mould on ceiling and shower was rubbish.
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Clean modern and comfortable
Cons: Shower was weak
Excellent 9,2
Cons: Could have had more staff on duty in the bar area and breakfast room. Breakfast room staff were run off their feet and had to wait exceptional long time to get a drink. Otherwise all good.
Excellent 9,6
Pros: The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful, answers the few questions I had very well. - the restaurant was excellent, with great service and the self service buffet breakfast was certainly one of the best I have experianced for variety and quality...
Cons: - nothing, everthing was all good..

Good 7,1
Pros: The reception staff were exceptionally helpful. The car parking (disabled especially) was inadequate and I had to park my elderly but expensive classic car by the bike racks having been to take a European friend out to dinner. The breakfast was rather basic, compared to our regular Holiday Inn experience. Glyn Holford. Upway. EX12 3LW
Cons: See above

Pros: Comfortable and functional
Cons: Dinner (pie) was bland but functional
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Room cleaning excellent bar staff is excellent

Poor 1,0

Excellent 10,0
Pros: Nice, clean hotel. Free Wi-fi. Breakfast included. Convenient location. Friendly staff

Good 7,5
Cons: The restaurant area was dirty. The chairs were filthy and we weren’t happy to sit on them. Apart from that everything else was good.

Good 7,5
Pros: Breakfast was lovely, staff were friendly. No bottled water but staff happily gave me some iced water to take to my room as I dont like drinking from bathroom tap.
Cons: Beds were quite small, no parking spaces had to leave the car at the side of the road 1st night. Would of liked bottled water from the vending machine, although bar staff did give me iced water to take to my room.

Good 7,9
Pros: Rooms had all you needed and had a good, comfortable bed. On arrival to breakfast we were greeted with a smile and seated very quickly. The hot drink order was efficiently taken but cups and saucers didn't arrive with it. There was a good selection of fruit, cereal, pastries and full English, however, some of the hot food was overcooked. The restaurant staff were very polite, accommodating and attentive to requests.
Cons: On phoning to see if we could check in earlier, I was informed that the hotel was very busy and that couldn't be accommodated. Which was fair enough but was also told that if we arrived later than 3pm (check in time) it would help them out and be appreciated. On arrival the reception staff were efficient, informative but were a bit impersonal.
Okay 4,6
Pros: Clean and friendly
Cons: Spa facilities poor. Kids allowed in sauna / steam underage! No staff monitoring. Poor. Bar in hotel poor service, breakfast cold. Service poor
Excellent 9,2
Pros: Situation, convenient for travel to the docks
Okay 5,0
Pros: The hotel was lovely with beautiful grounds
Cons: In the restaurant, we were treated differently to others who came in later, the waiting staff treated another like royalty and us like we didn’t belong, we didn’t get offered the specials and the fillet steak came out in a few small slices of meat which had been beaten with the hammer. The meat wasn’t tender even after that, when we complained to the waiter she replied with I’ll tell the kitchen and we didn’t get any reply from the kitchen. The milk in the room had gone off and when we asked he brought us more that had been gone off as well. A couple of the pillows were dirty and had a red crusty substance on them. We will not be recommending this to anyone, as the service was appalling.
Excellent 9,6
Pros: The staff are friendly and helpful, the room was well presented, clean and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was very good with a wide range of options for breakfast
Cons: There was nothing I didn’t like
Good 6,0
Pros: BREAKFAST , Poor, long wait for a table, ran out of food then long wait to be replenished. Mushrooms almost raw Basically could not cope with being full with a wedding party and the residents.
Cons: Sauna and Spa scruffy.
Good 7,9
Pros: Very friendly staff nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was lovely. Grounds lovely for a morning walk.
Cons: The signpost could have been cleared on which way the hotel was. Staff didn't tell us about the pool or gym facilities.
Good 6,7
Pros: Hotel is in a very nice location, staff were OK but could have been a little friendlier, spa club was good but several things out of order
Cons: Breakfast was very poor, serving staff were young and inexperienced with no one supervising them, buffet kept running out of food and we had to ask several times for items to be replenished
Okay 5,8
Pros: The location was beautiful and the reception staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was a little small but well presented, clean and comfortable.
Cons: Breakfast was appalling. I understand the traffic light system, and we did go at the busiest time, however, this should be pre-empted by the management. The food kept running out, I asked for poached eggs, which I know it said 10-15 minute waiting time, but I gave up waiting after 25 minutes. There were no tongs provided for food handling in some areas such as the toast area so people are handling the food. The staff were over run and non attentive - you need to look at their efficiencies within the dining room itself. We sadly were unable to eat dinner in the restaurant so we had to sit in the hall to eat but the food was great. We ordered room service breakfast one morning, which we thought might be better, but very disappointed, one poached egg was provided when I clearly indicated 2 guests, no butter provided for the toast and of course it was luke warm. The plate warmers don't fit the plates either. The bar staff were also over burdened and ran out of stock. There were glasses piled high behind the bar because there were weddings/functions on as well, so maybe you need more staff or more warewash machines. The Terrace was not serviced, which is fair enough, but the glasses are not cleared either, they were still there the next day and in fact the second day after as well. There was also was broken glass on the terrace which was there for at least 3 days/2 nights, as we sat on the terrace every evening. I felt those who were there for a function/conference were better attended to than individuals.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Beautiful location, excellent facilities and the breakfast was second to none.
Cons: The phone in my room (304) didn't work. Which was a good thing as it prevented me ordering room service at 22:39 when I should have been asleep!

Good 6,3
Pros: It was quiet
Cons: Needs a good clean of the tables around the bar area and behind the bar. One person trying to host breakfast take breakfast orders and clear tables. Should be one host and a couple of staff to wait on and take orders as there are 2 breakfast rooms and it's busy. On check out staff should ask how your stay was then at least you could give them feedback.
Excellent 9,2
Pros: Food was lovely. Bed was really comfortable. Reception and waiting staff were great.
Cons: The car park and building site weren't very pretty to look at from the window
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Hotel location was pleasant, and building low rise set back in landscaped grounds - easy access to/from car park - Immediate surrounds of farmland and perfectly thatched cottages - English rural heartland! Warm welcome, from front desk. Helpful assistance with directions to wedding reception in a different town. Decent room, easy to operate heating/air con, massive comfortable bed. Breakfast was fine with lovely variety of fresh choices for vegetarian as well as the traditional palette. Felt really restful and quiet lovely ambience.
Cons: Hotel not so easy to find if you're unfamiliar with the area, and without Sat Nav - but really pleased that we found it - Room felt quite far away from reception and on returning late and feeling quite tired, and ready to fall into bed, found that the swipe to our room was inactivated so had to traipse back to the front to get it sorted (quite quickly).
Okay 5,8
Pros: Good quality Gym, and large comfortable bedroom
Cons: Coming back after a long day out to find room not made up, no kettle in the room on arrival, and no information about the hotel available within the bedroom.
Okay 5,4
Pros: The location was lovely and I am sure the grounds were too but as the weather was abysmal we did not venture out to check. Breakfast was fine with a decent choice.
Cons: Sports bar did not have Bacardi and staff did not appear too bothered regarding this. Boring bar.
Excellent 8,8
Pros: Staff, pure and simply amazingly friendly
Cons: Shouldn't complain but too many kids. Apart from that it was great
Good 7,5
Pros: Good parking
Cons: Long walk to room and hard to find room Bar facilities closed at 10, didn’t get asked if we wanted anything and we had just arrived.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Hotel room was very nice with really comfy beds. The pool was a big hit with my Grandson.
Cons: Restaurant food was very expensive but the breakfast was very good.
Excellent 9,5
Pros: the staff were very good in the spa as well as the dining room, the bedroom & bathroom were very clean. lots of room in the carpark. The gym is well kitted out and they have a dance studio which had I known I would have loved to pay and join in whatever they were doing the music was good for any cardio workout.
Cons: service at breakfast time was a little slow but I guess there is only so many staff and at busy times the shortage of staff shows, It was a shame the steam room was out of order and the Jacuzzi was filled in, that was disappointing, those two luxury items make a spa experience
Good 7,9
Pros: A good-sized room with a very comfortable bed.
Cons: The key-card failed to unlock our room on two of the three nights we stayed, necessitating a walk through miles of corridors back to reception. Items presented on the menu were not available and those we could have were extremely expensive (like £16 for a chicken caesar salad!)
Good 7,1
Pros: Hotel very nice. Food.Lunch in the sports bar excellent as was breakfast. The meal at night for the Fun at the Fair party night was served nice and hot. Quality of food was acceptable for the numbers being served.
Cons: Staff weren't very well informed....nobody seemed to communicate with each other on the smallest details, for instance I tried to pay for a breakfast before my spa treatment and was asked to queue at the restaurant - after a ten minute wait I was then directed back to reception where they then said they couldn't take payment....I was losing the will to live at this point...and time was running out so I went without. Spa....facial....amazing .

Pros: Staff were very friendly and helpful, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. The room and facilities looked exactly like the pictures uploaded and met expectations.

Cons: Room was very small - no14. Top of building. En suite was tiny. Sink very small. Shower was awful. Dangerously hot, then cold. Hard to shower, pressure not good. Breakfast was not great. Went at 8.30 near end so would seem that food had been sat around and was overcooked which was a shame. Area ok but as the place was not manned, felt a little insecure especially as I was with my young daughter. Parking was available but charged which I was not expecting from what I thought I had read.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: breakfast really good friendly staff very helpful
Cons: nothing
Good 7,9
Pros: Comfortable beds and room. Clean and tidy. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Close to shops.
Cons: Room on ground floor next to main entrance so frequent disturbance as other guests were entering and leaving, plus noise from passers-by.

Cons: The guy on reception made no attempt to welcome us to hotel and never told us where the restaurant was or told the openings times it took us three rooms to finally get one that was ok first one window would not close second one smelly and no apology for this the same guy checking out never asked if we enjoyed our stay we have stayed in many premier inns and have never experienced this before think he can do with some customer service training would definitely put us off staying in that one again

Good 7,5
Pros: Breakfast was lovely, staff were lovely. Didn't use any other facilities so can't comment. Car parking was a bonus as the hotel is very central.
Cons: Bathroom was way overdue a refurbish, and the old sash windows also need replacing - they didn't shut properly, and as we were at the from of the property it was very noisy until gone 1am, then the bin lorry was beeping at around 7am (Sunday morning). A room at the back might have been quieter.
Okay 5,8
Pros: Was happy with place just long walk to bed room and old sope in shower and woke up with bad back but think was how I sleep but would defo stay again
Cons: Was happy with place just long walk to bed room and old sope in shower and woke up with bad back but think was how I sleep but would defo stay again
Excellent 8,8
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helped me a lot with questions! Very competent! The room was very nice and had a decent fragrance which i liked! The breakfast looked nice. I didn't get any but it really looked nice. The location of the hotel is unbeatable! You are actually in the city center. I would recommend this hotel!
Cons: The Bathroom is a bit weird because the toilet is actually inside the place where you shower. No separation or anything. Means: You shower = you wet the toilet. And toilet paper. And everything else. The sink was also strange. It must have been some kind of british humour because I didn't get it! Ok now bear with me. There are two separate faucets in the same sink. One faucet provides cold water only. The other faucet provides hot water only. The water streams from both the faucets do not touch each other. How do you wash your hands with lukewarm water without getting first degree burns? I just didn't get it and washed my hands in the shower.
Okay 4,2
Pros: Central location
Cons: Was only able to book a single room at £120.00 despite there being at least 2 double rooms available for the same price. My room was on the top floor outside the old fashioned grill doors lift. I think it was formally a cleaning cupboard. Outside the windows as the kitchen extractor. Breach of health and safety as there was no auto closer on door in case of fire. Should have been a £30-40 max for facilities and quality Will never stay again worth 320 MORE TO STAY AT GRAND HARBOUR OR £30 less for premier or travel lodge
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Nice clean room, great location, helpful staff, really affordable with secure car parking.
Cons: The directions to the car park could be better signed
Okay 5,0
Cons: no bathroom______shower only
Good 6,0
Pros: The staff were very welcoming. The breakfasts very good.
Cons: We booked a superior room and this did not appear to be the case although did not see a basic room. to compare. Very basic furnishings for shower and bedroom. Hall and landing carpet old and just felt everywhere needed a makeover but still keeping the style of the outside of the building. Shame really as in an excellent location. Ok just for an overnight stay.
Excellent 9,2
Pros: Very good location, friendly staff, good breakfast. Very good for solo travellers/short stays.
Okay 5,0
Pros: The location was good
Cons: Very old, things were broken, the room is very small, the shower didn’t work well and so on

Good 7,5
Pros: Location was good with nearby restaurants...
Cons: Room was small..
Excellent 9,2
Pros: the room was comfy and quiet. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly. I was handy for all we wanted in Southampton.
Cons: I like the car parking, but the draconian threats of £100 fine for an incorrectly entered numberplate don't really inspire me to go back.
Good 6,3
Pros: Friendly reception staff Comfortable beds Good location for uni visit
Cons: Room was small. Creaky floors from room above throughout the night so got little sleep. Shower had barely any water pressure so difficult to wash hair under.
Excellent 9,0
Cons: Low Beams in room
Good 7,9
Pros: Coffee machine, like the buffet style and staff were friendly
Cons: Food was a bit overcooked
Excellent 9,7
Pros: Overall the hotel was very good with excellent service. Good value.
Cons: The shower was a little cramped and stairs would be difficult for older people
Good 6,0
Pros: Location
Cons: It was all a bit basic. I would have expected better for the price
Excellent 9,2
Pros: We did not try the breakfast but the friendly helpful staff both reception and cleaning was wonderful. Made us feel comfortable. We loved the Air Con made a big difference to our room and stay. Felt very comfortable about my dogs being able to stay.
Cons: The only thing for me that I was not happy with was perhaps the location. The hardest thing to find was somewhere close by to walk the dogs first thing in the morning and last thing at night. We did find the common but it was rather a long way to walk each time to exercise the dogs.
Okay 5,8
Pros: Location to the university
Cons: Very tired furnishings- particularly the bathroom. Desperately needs updating
Good 7,9
Pros: Nice comfortable room , ...the shower in room 104 was amazing !! Plus the lovely reception guy upgraded me to a double room I was exhausted so that was so lovely of him ...
Cons: Felt the room could have done with airing ...
Excellent 10,0

Pros: Service, food, room.
Cons: No drinking water in the room.
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Good convenient location for motorway. Room nice, comfortable and quiet. Clean and modern bathroom.
Good 7,5
Pros: We had read mixed reviews of the hotel but were impressed by all areas. The room was spacious and the beds comfortable, the staff were friendly and there was plenty of choice of breakfast. We also used the gym which was open 24/7.
Cons: We would have liked a rack for bath towels over the bath. As there was nowhere to dry them, we had to get them changed every day which we avoid doing if we can. There is room for improvement at breakfast - tables were not cleared quickly and pastries were often dry.
Good 6,3
Pros: Great location spacious hotel friendly staff
Cons: Beds were extremely uncomfortable busy schedule and didn't get sufficient rest due to bad nights sleep
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Friendly receptionist and nice hotel.
Cons: Everything was fine.
Excellent 9,2
Pros: Staff were extremely friendly. Everything we needed was already in our room. Breakfast choices were excellent . Lovely location.
Cons: Bed was firmer than used to otherwise sorry nothing else bad to say
Okay 5,0
Pros: Rooms we're fresh and clean
Cons: Service was very slow in bar Needed more staff during busy periods
Good 7,0
Pros: Location.
Cons: The bed was the worst bed I have slept in anywhere around the world. It was uncomfortable & creaked every time you moved.
Good 7,5
Cons: the mattress felt like it had seen better days when you think the most you do in a hotel is in the bed the focus should be primarily on a good comfortable bed. The food in the restaurant was tired and uninteresting.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Courtesy is the main stay of this hotel from front desk to the restaurants. My wife’s brother was sick in the hospital and he passed away. It was a difficult time for us and staying at this place was comforting.
