Pros: We had an absolutely fabulous holiday in great part due to the amazing team at the Auberge Sainte-Antoine. We were made to feel at home from the moment we arrived. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The hotel is well located in the lower city with easy access to the river front and the funicular to upper town. Madame Quay arranged multiple events for our group with great success. The entire staff were always courteous and knowledgable. Make sure to take advantage of the Penache Restaurant on the property for breakfast and dinner. I will be back!!

Cons: We stayed on the 7th floor, and it was still a bit loud (external noise from people on the street late at night, and also some internal noise from other guests in the hallway). Wi-fi was very spotty in our room.

Pros: The lobby and guest room were modern and beautiful. The staff was especially welcoming and warm. The lobby was decorated with contemporary comfortable sofas, open spaces with burning candles, wine bar, Nespresso coffee machines, wood and stone walls. The well-designed shower, bath and guest room were spacious and tastefully decorated. The room had a Nespresso machine, which I enjoyed. Additionally, our room had huge windows with a beautiful view. Adjoining the hotel was a restaurant with great food including breakfast (which was included with our room) and a full bar. This was a very enjoyable stay.
Cons: Our room-included breakfast was not available until 8:00. Due to the late time breakfast was served, we could not avail ourselves of the amenity that was included with our room. There were a number of electronic devices in our room, which was nice, but it made operating the TV much more complicated.

Pros: The renovated room and view
Cons: We were first provided a non renovated room that was not clean, requires a lot of maintenance. Our AC didn't work, ceiling and the mirror lights didn't work. On the 2nd day we informed the desk while heading out in the morning. The issues were not rectified upon our return. We called again prior to leaving for dinner. Upon our return, we noticed the lights were fixed but the AC didn't work all night. Neither was any follow through from the hotel regarding the issues. No follow up call to the room to check on us. Not a luxury service. On the 3rd morning I called and asked for the manager and the AFOM said she would upgrade to renovated room and waive the $40 upcharge as if it was a favor. We had not slept the night before and gladly accepted the offer.

Pros: This hotel is stunningly beautiful from the outside, it feels like you're staying in a castle. Once inside, it's very charming. They have a really nice bar/lounge on the first floor, that serves great food and has couches and fireplaces in a circle around the bar. And wifi works in there. I would go there with my laptop and work sometimes. Upstairs the pool is huge and really nice, and has a rooftop view of the old city. And the gym facilities are modern and clean, with that same view while you're on the treadmill. Rooms are good. Not "super" luxurious as it's an older building, but definitely nice and clean, and quiet. And the staff is very friendly. I really enjoyed my stay.
Cons: The restaurant has weird hours. I tried going there at 11am and it was already closed until later in the day. But they have good food in the bar.

Cons: Small room (even the "deluxe" room). Comfortable bed, but not THAT comfortable; my bed at home is much more so. There is a charge for every single thing... $16 a day for internet access is a joke, $36 a day for valet parking, $18 for a small pour cocktail at the bar. If I had it to do again, I'd stay somewhere else and visit the Chateau. Unless you are loaded and the money means nothing to you, I'd suggest the same.

Pros: The hotel's location is unbeatable for the price. Walking distance to everything in the old city. The rooms are a little small but have everything you need and are plenty comfortable. Staff is friendly and WIFI works well for basic usage at least.
Cons: Due to it's age, some may find the facilities lacking a bit. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed the character the age of the hotel gave, but it does mean smaller rooms and a little more noise.

Pros: Traveled from Toronto to Montreal to Quebec City to NS and this was the most affordable hotel of the whole trip. An amazing location in QC - right near old Quebec and walking distance to everything you would want to see. Hotel is nicely decorated in lobby, and valet parking made things easier. Wasn't the most modern or fancy hotel but it had Quebec City charm and everything else you could want. No breakfast that I saw but the shops and restaurants are a step away from the front door!
Cons: There wasn't anything to complain about. I would stay here again.

They park in the underground lot below city hall right across the street. You can self park at lower cost but the lot fills up. Hotel is old but very well maintained.

Pros: The hotel was perfect for our long weekend getaway. Despite the hotel being more high-end, it was accommodating to our two young kids (3 and 1 yr old) and there were other families there. The staff were extremely helpful and nice. The jazz club is a nice bonus though there is a small cover charge. The location could not be better - less than a 5 minute walk to the Chateau (and its Cafe Starbucks!)

Top floor, corner room with three windows overlooking the city and Notre Dame de Quebec on one side and a great view of the Chateau Frontenac on the other side! WOW! Pros: Staff was very friendly, bilingual and helpful. We had a larger than typical room as it was handicapped accessible. The kids enjoyed the pull out sofa bed in the separate sitting area (separated by glass doors from the bedroom area) and the jetted tub. The location is very convenient to the Old City and The Citadel. Both areas are just a short 10-15 minute walk. There is also a bus station behind the hotel if you are in need of public transportation. There was a mini-fridge available for use which was spacious enough to hold the iPads and other gaming devices the kids use. There are plenty of mirrors in the bathroom as well as a magnifying mirror.
Cons: The parking garage has very narrow travel lanes with many tight turns. We had a minivan and ended up scraping into a wall due to the tight turn to enter the garage. The parking spots themselves are also very tight with a minivan. If you have anything larger than a small sedan, you may find the underground parking area a challenge to navigate. The maximum height is just slightly over 6 feet so that could also prove challenging to larger vehicles. The lighting in the bathroom is a bit dim. We appreciated that there was a safe available in the room but found it's placement high in the closet inconvenient for an average height woman (I had to stand on a chair). I can't imagine how a wheelchair bound person would ever be able to reach that high without assistance. Our room was on the same level as the pool and had a window facing the walkway. Unfortunately, we needed to keep the curtains closed for privacy as it was a busy area so this made our room dark for most of our stay.

Pros: We enjoyed five nights in a family suite at Hotel Palace Royal. We had our adult nephew with us, and this struck the right balance of family togetherness and privacy -- even having two TVs was a plus. The hotel's location was convenient to everything, yet our room was quiet and the beds were very comfortable. The room layouts are well thought-out, including the spacious two-part bathroom. The decor and furnishings are elegant. Everything met and exceeded our expectations. In a city of great restaurants, we actually had one of our best meals of the trip at Le Beffroi, the steakhouse in the hotel! The rain kept us in that night, but we did not regret it. It was a special occasion meal, and we rate the selections, service, atmosphere, and quality all very high -- in fact, along with being a very good experience, it was a very good value! Room service for breakfast (a time-saver) was also good quality, and surprisingly no more expensive than a comparable breakfast in a restaurant in town.
Cons: The pool is ideal for small children or adults who just want to get in and out, but it isn't suited for swimming laps. Rooms with balconies overlooking the pool might have some chlorine smell and noise.

Pros: The hotel is in an excellent location. Easy to walk to everything. The staff was friendly and had many suggestions on places to eat and visit. The room was well appointed and quite large.
Cons: We got to the hotel at 4:30 ( check-in is at 4:00 ) ..there was a long line that didn't move very fast. There was one group that did hold up one agent for a considerable time but it still was a lengthy wait to check in.

Pros: Unlike a previous commenter, our waitress at Cosmos was wonderful! We only went once. The food was okay. But the service was excellent! My son has a nut allergy. They were very attentive to it and very accommodating. Our waitress was absolutely lovely! Hotel was fine. Modern. Front desk staff were also very friendly. Hotel was close to the ferry to vieux Quebec, which was where we spent most of our time. That was very convenient. They do have a shuttle but we never used it so can’t comment on that. Overall, a good hotel experience.
Cons: It was fine. No deal breakers. It was relatively clean and modern. I like a warmer esthetic, but that is just a personal preference. I am very fussy about my accommodations but I would recommend it. There is construction going on across the street, so no view. But it was not noisy at all. I would probably stay here again. One negative is that there was no microwave or fridge in the room. I asked for the duvets to be changed because they were soiled. We had to pay extra to have a fridge and the maintenance person who brought it up was not friendly. But absolutely everyone else we met in Quebec was wonderful. Very pleased with our overall experience there! Go to Quebec City! Most people you meet will be welcoming!

Pros: The staff were friendly and attempted to help as best they could. The room was large (it fit out two bikes with tons of room to spare, but we had the accessibility room). It was quiet.
Cons: The concierge didn’t know much about old Quebec or Ile d’Orleans, which was disappointing. There isn’t a bar at the hotel, which is odd and there is no coffee maker in the room!!!

Pros: We loved the pool area! We had a three year old daughter and she loved it. The location of the hotel was great and close to everything.

Cons: It's old, run down, not very friendly. The pool, fitness, sauna are all very filthy. It's time to invest and refurb' The price for the quality is very bad, we felt it was a pure rubbery. The restaurant has no flexibility for breakfast and charges you almost $8 for a baggel !!!!! The towels and the beds were completely run down!

Pros: Incredible staff (with very good English as well) Great location with lots of restaurants and places to see nearby Historic district a short walk away *Very* impressed with the room would be an understatement - 23rd floor overlooking the old city. We almost stayed an extra night! Everyone was extremely friendly and with our limited French we were able to easily get by (many people answered in English anyway).
Cons: Parking for a big pickup was difficult. It would be good for the front desk staff to still refer guests to the valet but to know if the guests have a big pickup to direct them to the 2 main places for parking. We were told down and to the *left* which took us to a very tight underground parkade for $24 for 24 hours; however, there was a nice open parking lot to the *right* which was $16 for 24 hours.

Pros: Bed was super comfortable and location was great- convenient walk to old town plus Plains of Abraham steps away so kids could run around. We also enjoyed a great brunch at the revolving restaurant in the hotel. We will be back.
Cons: Some of the furniture a little tired- specifically worn easy chairs, but seem left there because they complement design. Could use reupholstering, and pool was nice to have but water was a bit cloudy, and walk to dressing room chilly and used as a storage room. It was nice to have on a rainy day, but not super. Also, water a bit deep for kids, so combined with cloudiness, I was in particular alert.
