Pros. It's an amazing castle to visit and stay at. Also a great view next to the river.
Pros. Breakfast amazing. Fantastic staff. Building falling apart, and for that money I would've expected more.
Cons. Facilities were run down. Public restrooms were used for more than one kind of relief outside the bar in the lobby. Lively staff and exquisite decoration!
Pros. Beautiful surroundings. Great area and location. Excellent staff.
Cons. Not all rooms have a view. Some areas require stairs as well as elevators. (My wife uses a walker).
Cons. GREAT hotel in a great location!!!
Pros. The service was excellent, the staff very welcoming. Our room had an excellent shower and bed. The bar areas are great for hanging out. Most of all, what a grand historical structure!
Cons. Quality comes at a price.
Pros. Nice Bed. Superb location. Great service. Perfect atmosphere.
Cons. A jackhammer woke us up at 8:00 am. They were renovating in our wing. Room was a loooong way from elevator. But no traffic. From Kayak the breakfast included as advertised on the website WAS NOT included upon check in at the hotel. This was false advertising. Luckily for Kayak, we got the hotel to comp the parking AND the breakfasts. This was well worth the disturbance.
Pros. Service and location were excellent! Staying here was truly a one of a kind experience.
Cons. The rooms were small .
Pros. The hotel is in the best location for someone wanting to see different parts of Quebec City. The staff is very well trained and seems to try to exceed expectations. This is a gorgeous historic hotel that has been extensively renovated. The pool and spa, all the restaurants, etc. are at or above the standards of what you will find in more modern luxury hotels. Based on my experience, I would recommend staying in one of the traditional decor rooms (preferably beginning 62##).
Cons. Initially, we were offered an upgrade to one of the remodeled rooms, but we thought the window was very small and the room felt rather claustrophobic. So, we asked to be put back in the traditional decor, unrenovated rooms and found it to be much larger and comfortable with a double window and a great view. Of course, these two rooms (out of the 600 in the hotel) likely were not representative of all the remodeled/traditional room layouts. Just my experience.
Pros. Beautiful interior and exterior, pool and related facilities were generously appointed.
Cons. Small room (even the "deluxe" room). Comfortable bed, but not THAT comfortable; my bed at home is much more so. There is a charge for every single thing... $16 a day for internet access is a joke, $36 a day for valet parking, $18 for a small pour cocktail at the bar. If I had it to do again, I'd stay somewhere else and visit the Chateau. Unless you are loaded and the money means nothing to you, I'd suggest the same.
Pros. All staff was very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with.
