Québec City hotels near Old Quebec Funicular

Cons: Nothing to dislike!!

Cons: We were awakened early in the morning by workmen in the next room.

Cons: We stayed on the 7th floor, and it was still a bit loud (external noise from people on the street late at night, and also some internal noise from other guests in the hallway). Wi-fi was very spotty in our room.

Cons: We were first provided a non renovated room that was not clean, requires a lot of maintenance. Our AC didn't work, ceiling and the mirror lights didn't work. On the 2nd day we informed the desk while heading out in the morning. The issues were not rectified upon our return. We called again prior to leaving for dinner. Upon our return, we noticed the lights were fixed but the AC didn't work all night. Neither was any follow through from the hotel regarding the issues. No follow up call to the room to check on us. Not a luxury service. On the 3rd morning I called and asked for the manager and the AFOM said she would upgrade to renovated room and waive the $40 upcharge as if it was a favor. We had not slept the night before and gladly accepted the offer.

Cons: No concierge available much of the time. Elevator not always operating.

Cons: A jackhammer woke us up at 8:00 am. They were renovating in our wing. Room was a loooong way from elevator. But no traffic. From Kayak the breakfast included as advertised on the website WAS NOT included upon check in at the hotel. This was false advertising. Luckily for Kayak, we got the hotel to comp the parking AND the breakfasts. This was well worth the disturbance.

Cons: In this day and age, you'd think wifi would be included. After the first day, I went to the Starbucks (accessable from inside the building) to get my email and electronic newspaper.

Cons: The rooms were small .

Cons: I know it's a minor thing but the gym is pretty sparse. We managed to get some workout in but limited due to equipment. They do have multiple treadmills.

Cons: high price of internet access. food was also very expensive.

Cons: Room service mediocre, never changed the sheets in 4 days, I was charged for unused items, the place was extremely noisy, food average quality, expected more quality, worst hotel in the fairmont chain.

Cons: Room was extremely clean but very dated bedroom and the walk in closet was a waste of space.

Cons: Initially, we were offered an upgrade to one of the remodeled rooms, but we thought the window was very small and the room felt rather claustrophobic. So, we asked to be put back in the traditional decor, unrenovated rooms and found it to be much larger and comfortable with a double window and a great view. Of course, these two rooms (out of the 600 in the hotel) likely were not representative of all the remodeled/traditional room layouts. Just my experience.

Cons: No free wi-fi???? Seriously in this day and age??? Our only disappointment.

Cons: Phones in the room didn't work, dental kit took too long to get delivered,

Cons: Crowded, expensive, no wifi, average room.

Cons: Small room (even the "deluxe" room). Comfortable bed, but not THAT comfortable; my bed at home is much more so. There is a charge for every single thing... $16 a day for internet access is a joke, $36 a day for valet parking, $18 for a small pour cocktail at the bar. If I had it to do again, I'd stay somewhere else and visit the Chateau. Unless you are loaded and the money means nothing to you, I'd suggest the same.

Cons: First impressions: a disaster! Tried to give us a double bed for our king reservation. Two of the three elevators were down. Took an hour for bags to make up to room. No towels in room when we arrived. The white wine had been used & filled with water!

Cons: The restaurant has weird hours. I tried going there at 11am and it was already closed until later in the day. But they have good food in the bar.

Cons: Quality comes at a price.

Cons: Rooms were very small. Parking. Taxes! Most of all, my grandson forgot his stuffed animal, Curious George, in room 622, there was no response to communication and he was not able to get it back! This is devastating for a 3 year old! I still hope that that can happen!

Cons: The bar dud not open until late and the restaurant didn't serve dinner but with all of the bars and restaurants in Old Town, this didn't seem to pose a problem.

Cons: Due to it's age, some may find the facilities lacking a bit. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed the character the age of the hotel gave, but it does mean smaller rooms and a little more noise.

Cons: very cramped room

Cons: Sometimes the elevator took long but wouldn't change my mind about staying here again.

Cons: Did not include breakfast or parking ($25 per night). Only some outlets worked.

Cons: There wasn't anything to complain about. I would stay here again.

Cons: I could only open my closet door a few inches since it was blocked by a bed.

Cons: The room was small and did not have a refrigerator.

Cons: We didn’t find anything unpleasant during our stay. We would definitely stay at Hotel Clarendon in the future.

Cons: Our room was very small. But everything worked well and it was clean.

Cons: Rooms are very cramped, beds not that comfortable and there is no private parking. The reception/concierge could use some brushing up on customer service as well.

Cons: For the price ($150 a night) the room was nice, but you are paying for location. I thought it would include breakfast but that's an additional $20 per person.

Cons: It was fine. No deal breakers. It was relatively clean and modern. I like a warmer esthetic, but that is just a personal preference. I am very fussy about my accommodations but I would recommend it. There is construction going on across the street, so no view. But it was not noisy at all. I would probably stay here again. One negative is that there was no microwave or fridge in the room. I asked for the duvets to be changed because they were soiled. We had to pay extra to have a fridge and the maintenance person who brought it up was not friendly. But absolutely everyone else we met in Quebec was wonderful. Very pleased with our overall experience there! Go to Quebec City! Most people you meet will be welcoming!
