Pros: This is a beautiful hotel in an elegant old building that was completely redone to creat the hotel. Courteous and helpful staff. Concierge services were excellent. Rooms are large and well furnished. Ten minute walk to the Jaffa Gate of the old city. Breakfast was included and was excellent.

Pros: We arrived after midnight and got a room with a balcony with view on a wall and the garbage of the kitchen. There was no swimming pool and the terrasse from the pictures was closed. The first evening we could not sleep before 3.30 am the next day due to the noise - when we talked to the staff no action was taken.

Cons: The staff, for the most part, wasn't helpful. For example, it was a cold night, and when I called downstairs and told them the heater was broken--even the lowest setting made the room unlivable--the staff's response was to open my window. It was raining heavily with strong winds that night, so I pushed the staff person further, who finally sent up a portable radiator. The sheets on the bed were torn. The bed wasn't made adequately, so that I couldn't fit my body into the bed. The shower glass wasn't sealed, so that water leaked all over the bathroom. Several staff at the front desk were unfriendly.

Cons: Generally speaking the Inbal is not cheap but the charge for the Festive dinner on Simchat Tora was outrageous : 860 ISH per person. This is in keeping with the "tradition" of Israeli Hotels to charge exorbitant amounts for Friday and festive meals Shame on you !

The staff was very nice and tried to be helpful. We did eat the soup special for a late lunch (all the soup and bread you can eat for a reasonable price) and it was excellent.
Cons: Our room felt old and in need of renovations. There were stains on the little couch. The bathroom was especially dingy. It didn't feel clean but I think that was because of the age and lack of renovation. There is no hotel bar; we are not big drinkers but it is sometimes nice to sit with a glass of wine in the evening before retiring. We tried ordering dessert from room service. They took our order and then called back 15 minutes later to say they were out of the chocolate cake and ice cream we ordered. They had nothing else remotely similar. We asked the concierge for directions to a particular site as our guide unexpectedly couldn't be with us that day. He showed us on a map where we could park our car and gave us an address to put in our GPS. However, when we got to the location there was no public lot there. We ended up missing the tour of the Supreme Court Building.

Pros: The Hotel i beautiful, Very Jerusalem with a lot of art in it, the room was big and the view was perfect looking at the old city walls. breakfast was fine ' not to big but good.

Pros: The room with patio was excellent. The food served for the meals on Shabbat was delicious and plentiful. The service was excellent. We really appreciated that they tried to get our room ready a bit early on checkin day for Shabbat.

Pros: nothing except the location
Cons: everything, it was dirty, the people where unfriendly. Came with 2 suite case and a bag, the guy at the front door showed me with his hand where to go instead of helped me. That was the welcome. Hotel is old with low or no proper maintenance. The linen was dirty and they didn’t replaced it. The bath room was not cleaned. The toilet paper holder broke and they left the part on the floor. 2nd day there was no rug for the shower even the shower door does not close and you have water everywhere after the shower. I have a bunch of photo to show. Disgusting place.

Pros: I was very surprised. My room was very big, clean and quiet. There was a mini fridge and private bathroom/ shower. The food restaurant in hotel is also very good and desserts are awesome. Surprisingly, the hotel is only 7 min walk to north gate of City. It is in Arabic part of City, but I found all the little shops interesting and people kind. The biggest plus to me wet hotel staff, they made the stay so easy and the front desk spoke very good English. The front desk lady "Nirvana", is incredible helpful for providing travel advice and help with any tour bookings you want make. I was surprised they always remembered the names of their guests!!! Great stay. Would stay here again

Pros: You can pay for a room but if your lucky enough to get excellent hospitality then that's worth 10x a room. Yusuf and his team were simply fabulous and unfaltering in their pleasantness and service. Its the type of place that makes it hard for one to leave and even more so crave to go back. Their hospitality created an atmosphere that enabled the other visitors to be happy and communicative too so all round it was a pleasant stay. Breakfast is everything you can wish for and inexpensive as is the Hotel. There is an old British Cinema next door and a lovely café, one could quite easy move in there ! Furthermore Yusuf and his family treated me as a personal guest even offering me a lift to a location as it was close to the sabbath, he had local experience and knowledge to improve my stay. One cant pay for that kind of service, just lucky to have found The Colony in The German Colony Jerusalem Israel.

Pros: I didn't ordered the breakfast, because i had appointment in another place for breakfast with somebody. But I sow the breakfast and it seems be very tasty. It was buffet style but the chef prepared additional dishes. 24 hours we may use automatic coffee machine and give cakes.

Pros: Chef and manager was exceptional in providing top services to meet special dietary needs and also they speak good standard of English. Manager made extra effort to deal with the sewerage smell coming up through the pipes in my room. The place is really clean and managed very well. Breakfast had good variety as well. Location is excellent.

Cons: The stairs............a lift would be very nice! No bar fridge in the bedroom - that should be provided in each bedroom. Mattress is a bit lumpy. Windows need insect screens to keep out mosquitoes and flies.
