Pros: Amazing service and facilities and breakfast was great. Staff were very helpful too
Cons: Pool area needs a menu for drinks and snacks not just at the bar. Would make people want to get more drinks and food if the menu was around the sun loungers Perhaps staff could aslo ask if we wanted anything while sunbathing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Would definitely rate this high in terms of a family friendly resort. The facilities there was stunning, attention the essential needs in every aspect for a visiting family has been given importance. The staff there were very friendly and helpful. Of the hotels and resorts I have visited, this certainly stands out in terms of the restaurant.. usually it will be more or less the same of kind of food every day.. however not the case here. We only choose the option of bread & breakfast, but occasionally tried the main restaurants during the dinner - the food was awesome with a wide range of options and varieties every day. There are also couple of private dining restaurants at the hotel which we didn't try. The hotel also has a number of swimming pools for both children and adults.
Cons: The weather was a bit of let down although it was early summer, but nothing to do with the hotel. We booked a suite with a private pool, however didn't realise that the pool was smaller than shown in the photo whilst booking.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel looks like as a traditional Cretan village with a big and beautiful territory. Each bungalow has a good location, deluxe bungalows have a great see view. The hotel will perfectly fits families with children and people prefer natural way of relaxing. The restaurant serves great Greek dishes and a wide choice of other international ones. The breakfast is fantastic accompanies with a friendly hotel staff. You will have no concerns if decide to stay here.

Pros: Stayed with 7 months old daughter, it was perfect! Perfect little village, absolutely beautiful! Very beautiful buildings, plants, flowers, views.. amazing beach, SAND! Its very quiet, clean and calm. Great food. Staff - super helpful, nice and friendly! All in all, just perfect holiday!
7,5 Good
Pros: The food was really good , the location is very nice
Cons: The photos on booking is not matching the reality , the staff in the reception were not nice and not eager to help
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Loved the facilities of the resort, especially the pool areas and beach
Cons: Having to leaves
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Good facilities. Areas for kids and also for adults only.
Cons: Poor food options for vegans.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: friendly staffs, personalised services, beautiful and super clean resort, food, music, beach, quietness, swimming pools, water slices, kid clubs, spa.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: A good location, good facilities, excellent food. Not too many people as end of season. The beaches , warm sea and sun loungers were great. The bar staff were friendly and cheerful but not always too prompt.
Cons: Disappointed that there was no tennis coaching available despite taking my booking for a lesson! One outdoor pool was very cold! A towel outside our door to soak up the water from the wall was annoying.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Staff very friendly, polite and nice specially María from the main restaurant, Marzena from the bar, and Erika and Leonil from the Lefko restaurant! Bangaloo with sea view was just perfect located, where I could see the sun rise and set, and few steps from the relaxing pool for adults only (that was calm and really relaxing)! Room was very clean and nice decorated! Breakfast was very good and also the food in the main restaurant and Lefko Restaurant, where I had 3 times dinner because I loved the food!
Cons: Nothing!

8,5 Excellent
Pros: Staff was excellent in service. Fantastic location. Good facilities.
Cons: The rooms have different standards, only a few of them are real 5 stars.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: When we arrived, since we missed one dinner, (that we had paid for) they gave us a voucher for a lunch. We also had complementary fruit basket, bottle of wine, small bottle of Ouzo, and some greek sweets which I think it was really nice, they also gave us a complementary 15min massage which we upgraded to a 1hr deep tissue. I have no comnplaints, the masseuse was professional, and I liked it overall. The breakfast was very varied, as was the dinner. Every night there was something different, and the dessert table is more than anyone needs. The vibe of the resort is pretty chilled, a lot of older couples, or young couples with children, I think since we went the first week of september, it was pretty quiet. There was ALWAYS space around the pool or at the beach, no need to wake up early to get a sunbed. We went to the beach a many at different times of the day and we always found a place, and I never saw the sunbeds around the pools full. The staff is amazing, they are all so polite, and caring, you can tell they love what they do, and all of them or at least all of them I ran into speak German, I was quite impressed. It's true what I read on others reviews, that you need to book a table for dinner when you get there for the rest of your stay and you need to pick whether you want the early dinner (18:15 - 20:00) or the late (20:15 - 21:30) but I don't see it as a bad thing. For me you always have a place to sit. Be warned, older people will be at 20:10 outside waiting so I wouldn't go exactly at 20:15 or else it feels to crowded. The location is great, if you walk outside you'll run into restaunrants, souvenir shops, and mini markets!
Cons: This is more a feedback rather than negative things: I think given the type of resort, and what you are paying, I didn't like the fact that the drinks for dinner were not included in the price. I think at least soft drinks, and house wines should be included and not be paid extra. Also went I left, I has handed the bill for the dirnks I had, and it was all in greek, for all I knew they could have been charging me for something and I didn't know. The water in the shower, for some reason, will switch from cold to warm unexpectedly while I was showering, which makes it a bit uncomfortable. Finally, the water from the pool was way colder than the sea, which made me jump right out and back to the ocean.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was amazing, staff were so friendly and helpful. Room was cleaned every day. Don't have a bad word to say.
Cons: No negative comments, except having to come home
6,3 Good
Pros: The Sea is beautiful .
Cons: The stuff was rude and we didn't like the absence of kids service. The kids club was old, there was no toys, the person was watching TV and was not playing with the kids. We choose this hotel because it was marked "kids friendly" , but it is not.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Kid's play area was very nice, very suitable for family with young children. Mini disco at every night was one of the best activities for my 3 years old girl.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, breakfast.
7,5 Good
Cons: Only German channels on tv.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful setting; lovely pool areas with plenty of sun beds; excellent buffet breakfast; spacious, clean, well-equipped room with nice touches such as complimentary wine & fruit on arrival; easy access to lovely beach; perfect location for the bars and restaurants in town. An all-round excellent hotel!
Cons: Our room did not have a sofa or easy chairs, although there was a balcony area with chairs. Balcony area was nice but we did not have much of a view. Spa treatment prices seemed expensive, although we were given a complimentary 15-min massage.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful beach side resort with beautiful gardens. Excellent location. Friendly and professional staff. Very clean. Clear water, sandy beaches.
Cons: Poor choice of fruit selection at breakfast, but for dinner everything - watermelon, ananas, sweet melon etc. So why dont just put it for breakfast as well? Dinner is served in two sittings, eary dinner from 6 pm till 8 pm and late dinner from 8.15pm till 10 pm. However during the late sitting the staff starts to take away the food from the buffet at 9.30 already! So if you are late for dinner and come for example at 9 pm you are very likley to miss out on the selectin of food because they take everything away to early. This happend to us several times because we had whole day trips and came back late to the hotel.
8,8 Excellent
Cons: There is no WiFi connection in the rooms
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I would recommend it to anyone! Its a lovely location with a really nice and great beach. I think the staff adds great value to the hotel. The receptionists, the booking department, all to the cleaning ladies were so kind and helpful. When we walked to the dining hall the guy who drives a golf cart (with luggages and arriving or departing guests) just stopped because of our six year old daughter was in awe with his vehicle. He gestured hop in, then drove us to the main building much to her delight. It such a small gesture, but it shows that HOW they operate. They helped with all our mundane problems with care and kind attitude. We have gotten an upgrade when we arrived, a better room, because they had it free “so why not”. We had a junior suit with seaview and a little garden and our own palmtree. We just loved it. Our room was freshly renovated and spacious. The food.. so much to choose from, tasty and fresh. We dont have one bad thing or complaint to say about Alexander Beach Hotel, and we are considering to go back next year. It is an amazing place to have a nice holiday.
Cretan Malia Park - Mália - Building

9,2 Excellent (871 reviews)
R1 767+
Overview Reviews
The Cretan Malia Park is a distinguished hotel situated in a peaceful location on the north coast of Crete. The activities and nightlife in Malia as well as the archeological site with the famous Minoan Palace are in walking distance. One of the unique characteristics of this hotel is its river pool-complete with an artificial beach meandering amongst the garden bungalows. Mature palm trees, laws and colorful gardens adjoin a sandy beach, surround the main building and bungalows. The Cretan Malia Park has plenty to offer for families, couples, or single travelers and its central location on the island makes it an ideal starting point for those wishing to explore the island. From the moment you encounter the 35 palm trees that frame the entrance to Cretan Malia Park, you know that youve entered one of the romantic hideaways in Greece. The style is refined, the pace casual: Wrap yourself in cool cottons and the finest linens, lose yourself in the award-winning gardens, and enjoy the exceptional cuisine. Discreet service, luxurious accommodation, two placid private beaches, and spectacular scenery conspire to create an unforgettable holiday.

Pros: Very welcoming staff, great facilities, nice rooms (comfy beds and great bathroom), rich varied menu (cretan food corner is especially delicious), beautiful green relax area on the beach. We had a wonderful relaxing stay.
Cons: We didn’t see life guards on the beach during the week of our stay.

Pros: Everything was perfect
Cons: I expected The reception to have more info about the area and the activities

Pros: Decoration of main lobby, restaurants, bars, nice planting of plants,flowers... Food, organic garden...
9,2 Excellent
Pros: We have had a very nice holiday and would definitely recommend it to our friends and family. Our room was spacious (we stayed in a bungalow with the garden view), I really liked that the room was cleaned every day, every day new towels and toiletries. Animation team and staff were very lovely and friendly and helpful. The buffet had plenty of variety for every taste and the food was good and everyday fresh juice is being squeezed- is a nice touch. There are also enough other options for lunch and dinner on the premises - the greek restaurant is very nice, although portions are very big! The beach shack is a lovely place with tasty food as well. I love the fact that the hotel is green and eco-friendly - like using bio straws and not washing bed linnen everyday to conserve water. The beach is well maintained with sunbeds available for hotel guests. All in all very pleasent experience! Thank you!
Cons: As for a few cons: - Charge for water at the buffet - we paid a substantial amount of money for our stay and it would have been nice for water to be included in the price. - I would love an iron to have in the room - The lunch price at the buffet is the same as dinner price - which is quite strange. - the prices for alcohol (buffet especially) are very high! One glass of wine at the buffet is 8€ , one small bottle of wine is 12€ - thats in my opinion a bit much
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very nice with a nice lobby and good communal areas. The rooms are of a good size, clean and include all the amenities you would expect. Staff were fantastic, very friendly and welcoming and to a tee were very accommodating. The buffet food for breakfast and dinner was fantastic with a large selection of different foods. The Cretan restaurant is also worth visiting at least once to try local cuisine. Definitely download the app upon arrival, a nice feature is that the beach beds are each numbered and you can order drinks via the app to be delivered to your spot. All dinner reservations at each restaurant can be made via the app. The beach is very nice and there is plenty of room so it never felt like a huge rush to get a sun bed each day. The sea is very clean here, water is very clear with only minimal seaweed. The layout of the hotel is fantastic and even though they were fully booked it never feels crowded.
Cons: It is a little isolated which could be an issue depending on what you are looking for, but it is only a 20 minute walk to Malia. The all inclusive rules are a little strange... I expect for example that only certain drinks are included and not every type of lager spirit etc, this is normal in most places, however what is strange at this hotel is that this is not consistent throughout each bar or restaurant, e.g drinks that are free in the main lobby are different to those that are free at the beach bar. Also some of the food is not included either. e.g at the Italian restaurant it’s reasonable to expect to pay a supplement for steak etc but to get snacks from the beach bar in my opinion is not expected. It’s worth pointing this out as it is just confusing sometimes and a little unnecessary it should at least be consistent bar to bar. Whilst the food generally was great I was very disappointed with the Italian restaurant, I ordered the meatballs which were raw in the middle and had to be sent back. (In fairness without any fuss or issue) the BBQ near the main building again meat not properly cooked on the kebabs and were raw in the middle. Just be careful and check the food that has come from the grill, I am aware that mistakes happen especially when cooking at scale in a hotel or restaurant but raw meat is never a good thing, these were two isolated incidents though and I want to be clear that In general the food was very good.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel had a great atmosphere - very relaxed. We liked the décor. The swimming pools were lovely and so was the beach. The food was very good. Our children loved the ice-creams and crepes at The Crush. we really enjoyed having a cocktail at the Beach Shack. My massage at the Spa was wonderful.
Cons: We were on an all-inclusive plan which meant that, although most food and drink items were included, some were only available at an additional cost. This made it a bit complicated. The evening entertainment was a bit dull.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Bangalow, buffet for breakfast and diner offering a large choice of food (including Cretan diet food). Cretan restaurant is great as well. The pools (the one for the kids and the ones for the adults). The kids disco & activities for kids with the animators. The hotel in general is nice, not so crowded, very close to the beach. Some Greek tavernas available nearby (5 minutes walk).
Cons: Bed for the child (2,5 years) did not have a protection on the side, so he fell several times while sleeping. Also, we went on a one-day visit to Santorini. Staff told us that a dinner bag would wait for us in the evening. They gave it to us indeed, but it contained a banana, a small orange juice and a pear. We would have expected at least a sandwich. Location - quite far from Malia town, nothing to visit around.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Outstanding experience! It was our first time taking vacations on Crete and our only expectation was to rest. Thanks to Cretan Malia Park hotel our 12 days were fabulous. Starting with the worm welcome, everything what followed was perfect. The service, the stuff all over the place, the room and room service, the additional activities offered by the hotel, like cooking lessons, vine testing, Cretan dinner,... Very special and outstanding heartfull feeling creates Cretan Restaurant Mouries, the place itself, the perfect Cretan food mainly prepared by hotel main chef and kind and perfect cooking staff, and even more the young and sincere restaurant manager. Knowing and feeling the guests wishes and desires. Outstanding experience!! We would like to kindly congratulate the Management of the hotel to be present practically all over the day on all places. It was our first time that hotel General Manager and the hotel Management serve to hotel guests’ dinner, to show us their respect. Really perfect and worm feeling, that on every step somebody is taking care for you. We would like to highly recommend the hotel and for sure we will do that again. We had a perfect vacations. Thank you!
Cons: Of course we tried also a new Italian restaurant. It tries to be fancier with ambitious manager, but except the location and food itself, the impression that the restaurant leaves is rather poor. We try three times, firstly also to celebrate daughter birthday, but we never catch the staff on right leg. Last dinner we finished beside the fish refrigerator, no matter if other better tables were free all the evening. So our suggestion to the young manager would be to learn from the Mauries place. At such a beautiful place it is really not a question to have food to survive, we, as a hotel guests, want to experience a nice dinner time close to the beach, without unsuccessful fight for a better table in the restaurant… But, newer the less, we build up the impression taking the last desert at the Mauries, outstanding and heartfull and unforgettable again.
7,9 Good
Pros: Hotel has been neatly renovated but is a bit pricy considering the rather basic facilities and service.
Cons: Breakfast buffet was rich in choice but of average quality.

Pros: Wonderful owners and staff. Great facilities, brilliant access to the beach. Very good food. Super experience all round. Would definately go back.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel was perfect, the staff were always ready to the help, Costa, Nikos are to great guys work extremely hard to make sure you have a great and relaxing time. Then there is Stella who works from 3pm to midnight looking after the bar, she is a beautiful person and always finds time to talk to you, well she did for me anyway. Overall the whole experience was relaxing and amazing. I will definitely be going back.
Cons: Nothing not to like.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: When a place is managed with the heath everything is different, in fact the place was good for families. It has a green, a pool perfect for kids, a pool bar where you can find everything. My daughter had a lot of fun The owner of the hotel is also the owner of a farm and the Resturant drossia where we had 2 fantastic Greek dinners. In the hotel he give for free vegetables from the farm, this is a plus!
Cons: Beach in front of the hotel is small but you can use the one aside from the other hotel. Room shape is strange, there is a wall to split the bedroom from the rest of the room that make the room smaller than it is. I suggest to remove it.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful setting by the beach where you can sunbath in the lounge chairs and swim all day, wonderful staffs who are superb friendly and warm, very comfortable bed. Don’t forget to try the restaurant Drossia which is the best- amazing food, beautiful setting and hospitality like no where else.
Cons: WiFi is a bit slow. But if you don’t need to work or send big file it’s no problem .
5,0 Okay
Pros: The location is nice, right next to the beach. The apartment was large, facing the see, with a huge balcony - it was a pleasant place during the morning / evening to relax and gaze to the see. Also good restaurants and supermarkets are in the in 5 minutes walking range.
Cons: Maybe the place had its glory days 10-15 years ago, but now it is a bit rusty and shabby....disappointing. It is obvious that there was no real maintenance or upgrade done to the place in the last years. There were no toiletries, beside the small soap pieces, around 80% of the towels had holes in them, the AC units were really old and had no doors anymore (just a a huge hole blowing cold air), the dish-washing machine was broken, no detergent in the kitchen and the delivery of hot water had gaps. Also the room had a huge sliding door to the balcony, but it was broken and actually screwed to the frame. The apartment had a separate bedroom, but this was really small - one double bad and half a meter around it, just to walk, nothing more. Heads up for families with small kids - even if the property has its own slice of beach with sand and umbrellas, it is a bit dangerous as the beach is in terraces, above the rocky see line. Considering the high price and the 4 stars, I would definitely expect more.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location is great. In front of seaside, with swimming-pool, lot of tavernas and supermarket around 100-200 mt, ATM, shops, if you are travelling with children is perfect.
Cons: We use to travel in Grece since long. We have seen lot of beautiful places very wild, authentic with few structure around, it was a time when we didn't have children:) the place and location is great but a bit too commercial/touristic, but as I said, now we need different facilities :)

Cons: We had a drink Saturday night around 11:30 and someone from the staff sushed us , he was very rude and also we were not loud at all, just chatting with a drink. If the bar was closed I can understand but you cannot serve drinks and ask us to shut up. He was a big guy and not nice at all.

Pros: Great variety and very good breakfast, very nice location with amazing sea and mountain views. Friendly staff. Child playroom
Cons: Furniture in apartment were ok but a little dated. Not as many cooking utensils as one would have liked. Pool could have been heated as it was windy and cold when we were there and we couldn't use it at all. Asked for a late check out of only 2 hours extra and was asked to pay for it . Asked for some extra yoghurt when they were still on trolley to be taken away 1min after breakfast end time and was refused, it was for my 18mth old.

Pros: Quiet location away from the tourist chaos below in Malia. Hotel is 10 years old and in good condition, especially pool area. Staff were nice and relaxed.

Pros: Loved the location of the Hotel and only 5 minute walk to the main strip (even though myself & my partner aren't party people). Some lovely bars and restaurants on the main road down to the strip. The hotel was so peaceful and quite and all you can hear is the waves crashing against the rocks. You get the sun all day and a beautiful sunset in the evening. Very friendly staff who helped us a lot with things to do and recommendations. Would differently stay again.
Cons: The bath room, but it wasn't a big issue how everyone makes it out to be.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful resort just out of the hustle and bustle of Malia's main strip but close enough to walk there within 10-15 minutes. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough to ensure that we enjoyed our stay.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in the perfect location; (genuinely) less than a 10 minute walk into central Malia which is perfect to walk to in the evening for dinner and drinks. There are beaches either side of the hotel with a little cove in front if you fancy a swim in the sea. It was so quiet, no busy roads with loud traffic around and so peaceful you can sit on your balcony and listen to the sea. The staff were incredibly helpful, especially upon arrival - we were given a map and shown the nearest restaurants, supermarkets etc. The pool bar staff were lovely and welcoming and always had smiles to greet us. The grounds of the hotel were incredibly clean and well kept, as well as the room itself. We had housekeeping everyday with fresh towels etc. The pool was great with plenty of sunbeds around, no need to be up early to claim them! You can also get towels from reception to use around the pool and on the beach. The hotel recommends a lovely restaurant in the centre called Drossia, and it was such a lovely dining experience we went back a second time! The service and food there was next level and nothing was too much hassle for the staff. It was such a lovely and relaxing place to stay, and would definitely recommend it if you're looking for somewhere that has everything!
Cons: I cannot fault this lovely place at all.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast available from the hotel café. Location was good, A large enough distance from Malia for it to have very quiet surroundings. Brilliant pool area with access to the beach. The bar staff are amazing.
Cons: We had no water for one night as the tanks were empty. Local shop was around 10-15 min walk. Not too far, but in mid summer sun it's not ideal.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Pool overlooks the sea. Not too busy. Very clean and comfortable bedrooms. Air conditioning is amazing. Staff couldn’t be more helpful or caring. Very quiet and peaceful. Showers are powerful. Food is very good at the pool bar and a reasonable price.
Cons: Shower curtain!!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location was amazing. Fantastic views of the ocean and so quiet and peaceful. It was nice to be able to walk to the main malia strip in 10 minutes but also escape the madness when you wanted to. We enjoyed having a drink at the pool bar when we wanted a quiet night. We also rented a quad bike for 2 days and this allowed us to be in and out of malia in no time. The staff were also fantastic. They always greeted my boyfriend and I with a smile and were also very helpful when we were checking out about getting a bus to the airport. Overall, a fantastic hotel, with great views and great staff.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Location was amazing, also very peaceful. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the hot tub was awesome.
Cons: The food at the restaurant was not the greatest however only some food items we enjoyed. Wifi was terrible
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Was a fantastic stay, exceeded expectations. Very clean. Atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. Attention to detail made all the difference. Could happily just stay in the hotel grounds by the pool and swinging in the hammocks. Fantastic decor to a very high standard. Small bar area which provided basic food and reasonably priced drinks (with great views).1 minute walk to the beach. Traditional Greek restaurants a short walk away both on the main road and in Old Malia town. The party strip is a short walk away if you wanted to visit it but you could equally stay around the area and never see or hear it. Cannot rate this hotel high enough, we loved it. Very beautiful. Would highly recommend. Fantastic memories made here.
Cons: The street leading to the hotel is not pleasant, more street lights needed when walking down late at night. No pavement towards the hotel; so walking along busy road.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: perfect location, just on beach, quiet , close to malia, nice pool , amazing staff
Cons: nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We've had such an amazing time at Pyrgos Beach Hotel. Great loction, outside the busy part of Malia but close to everything. Great staff, thanks for the amazing hospitality to everyone at Pyrgos. Great Hotel, just beautiful, they've got an eye for details thats for sure, same as the rooms which are nicely equipped. The hotel is not too big which makes it extremely comfortable compared to others in the area. Beautiful beaches right next to the hotel and around the area. We will definetly be back and can't wait already.

6,7 Good
Pros: A spacious apartment in a quiet part of Malia.
Cons: Well, where to start ... while booking this hotel expectations were high due to other reviews and lovely pics. We arrived in the evening and met the host at the pool bar with noisy music. Luckily the music wasn't heard in the room, though the host responded bit arrogant while when we shared our concern that the music may be bit too loud. Not the best start of the stay. The room ... the hotel looks very nice, one could say luxurious from the outside, but what a surprise once you enter the room. There is a spacious room with kitchenette, table with chairs and two beds. The table was rather small for 4 persons and felt IKEA like (nothing against IKEA, but not matching the price level / expectation), the kitchenette and the silver/cooking-ware felt shabby, just a few (too little) sockets to charge all the electronic toys yourself and kids carry along these days. Another surprise was caused by the A/C unit, it was bit noisy inside, but no issue, but the trouble at the room 210 was mainly caused by the external unit that was producing a low frequency humm preventing your sleep being perfect as you expect it while on vacation. The bathroom was not too bad, bit dark and the shower corner missed the curtain (designed curtain-less) with sloping floor to sink the water - unfortunately after taking a shower the whole bathroom was wet. Once we left the towels on the floor expecting the staff provide clean ones, what a surprise to come back and find the dirty towels laying on the floor, we were explained that they are changing towels every other day (in a hotel - seriously?) and were given clean ones. Still, should you find towels on the floor will you not change these anyway? The breakfast was kind of ok, but please note that they are serving until 10:30, so hurry up!

Pros: Great place, great staff and fantastic location
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Nice location, comfortable, clean and well equipped room. Very friendly owners and polite staff, the area around the pool was nice and relaxing. breakfast good enough. we had a problem with the A/C that immediatelly fixed. i would visit it again.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: 2nd visit to hotel and it was as I remembered. Staff warm friendly. Location in old part of Malia with lovely tavernas in back streets so lots of surpises there. Foodwise there was something for everyone. Rooms spotless.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Nice pool. Nice room. Very comfortable mattress. Clean. Lovely atmosphere. Good Location. Very good experience. Very good value for money. My kids enjoyed it a lot. We had very good time there.
Cons: Breakfast is OK. Don't expect anything super. It is good but not excellent. Rooms look OK but not 100% like in the picture.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The place we stayed at was modern and contemporary which was nice and the lighting in the room was really nice. The view outside of our room was just of mountains which was gorgeous and the breakfast was good, so much feta!
Cons: There was an issue with the shower, hot water ran out very quickly, we didn't raise this with staff though because we didn't spend much time at the hotel.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place, care about they reputation and about their guests. Positive experience from the first seconds of the checkin. Decided to take two nights more here. Nice pool area.
Cons: Maybe i would like 5-8 min walk to beach, here it's 12-15. Joking.

Pros: Perfect for quite chilled out beach and pool holiday, if that's what you like, with great food in the evening
Cons: If you want a busy night life you have to walk to the bars either in Malia or up the road but not too far
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The front desk especially friendly and helpful. All the others also. The manager, George Perakis, was very friendly. We liked the personal attention. Made us feel welcome. Very good personal service. They all really care. We liked the Greek style of cuisine. Very interesting array of salads, yogurt, Greek pastry.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: A great private beach, elegant and comfy bungalow with a nice bed, nice sunbeds in private terrace, excellent long pool for swimming, huge campus-like gardens, restaurant, bars, mini market, and very friendly staff.
Cons: Nothing. A tip is that the location is perfect for beach and relaxing holidays, not much for walk explorations, that would need a car. Fortunately, many car rentals are nearby.
7,5 Good
Pros: Rooms are specious, beach is nice
Cons: Food is very basic and made with cheap ingrediants. Price is too high for the value
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel in a beautiful beach bay. The beach is shared with Ikaros hotel which is also really nice - you can join in the evening entertainment there.
Cons: The gym wasn't great - both running machines were out of use. No coffee/tea/water or minibar provided in the rooms
8,8 Excellent
Pros: My wife and myself enjoyed a lot our stay in the hotel. We`ve got our room upgraded to the sea front bungalow. The room was just amazing! It had a patio, the sun beds and an amazing sea view. The hotel is very well located, surrounded beautiful gardens and has a very good beach. The staff are mega helpful and friendly. At breakfasts and dinners we had a good choice of delicious food. We were out for lunch most of the time. There are a lot of restaurants around. WiFi had a good reception, we were able to watch movies on Netflix. We are planning to book this hotel for the next our holidays
Cons: Gym needs an update

Cons: nothing

Pros: Sofia at reception was so helpful through email before we arrived and more so after we arrived, with great tips on local places to see, places to eat and places to visit by rental car. Our room was perfect. The terrace just outside both bedrooms, right near the pool, was so practical and convenient !!!
Cons: I can not think of anything to mention.

Pros: We liked everything! All the staff is not only very nice but very efficient too! And the delicious hostess at the reception with her beautiful smile made everything to make our stay an amazing experience! We will definitely come back!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Transfer from airport is great. Staff super nice and helpful with info. Breakfast included all you need. Great pool area. Clean. Quiet. Not packed with guests. Could go on and on...
Cons: The beds were a little uncomfortable for me. Furnishing a bit outdated. Two-bedroom apt did not have sufficient living room area.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: All very good/excellent. Sofia is the best. We have recommended you to family and friends and are hoping to see you all next year. The Viotto’s
Cons: We found the beds very hard!!!
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, suitable for walking and also for running. The hotel is close to beaches, local shops, taverns, restaurants, gift greek shops. Malia's old town is very picturesque with a pleasant atmosphere. Many car rentals/quad bikes. We appreciated the free double-sided transfer. Room – spacious, clean, beautiful views (second floor, pool/garden, very recommended). Fine cleaning service, fresh towels and two small bottles of water every day. Pool – nice & clean, deep. Quiet pool area. Breakfast – tried only once but quite sufficient who do not require special diets. Relaxing garden, privacy, hammock. Many supermarkets in short walking distance (Ria, Stefi market). Super Market Xalkiadakis is 1 km from the hotel, offering fresh fruits, lactose-free & gluten-free products and some organic food. Enjoyed delicious dining in Avli & Drossia restaurant, various taverns to visit. During the whole stay, we were taken care of by a wonderful receptionist Sofia, who has always been smiling, professional and willing to help. Thanks to you we enjoyed the stay very much. Ευχαριστώ
Cons: Hard bed mattresses (fixed by thin foam toppers). Big thanks to Sofia!!! The hotel is relatively quiet, although it took a while to get used to the constant sound of cicadas. The neighboring hotel/resort played loud music until midnight a few evenings (August). Closing the shower door is sometimes a challenge. Wi-Fi could be improved. Furniture is somewhat older but it is sufficient. Impossibility to lock the main door. A 13-inch laptop can not fit into the safety deposit box. The last fact does not apply to the Socrates hotel directly, but it is always sad to see on the beautiful islands like Crete that waste is still not sorted especially plastic.
7,5 Good
Pros: The exterior of the hotel and the grounds/pool area were well maintained, and the location worked well for us as we were away from the hustle and noise of the main beach strip and had a car. The hotel’s recommendations re: good beaches in the area and close-by restaurant’s were much appreciated as were the friendly, welcoming staff
Cons: The bed was very uncomfortable (although the staff tried their best to address our concerns about the very hard mattress in our room by adding a thin foam topper). Perhaps it’s time for some interior renovations as the decor was also relatively dated. Additionally, the really poor wifi connection in our room and anywhere outside the immediate reception area was very frustrating and something even Sophia’s positive attitude couldn’t fix.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the level of the professionalism of the staff, their care for the guests. The breakfast was excellent with a big choice of what to eat and drink. The quality was excellent. All products are fresh and tasty. The location is excellent from my point of view as it is a bit far from the noisy main street but a 5 minutes walk to the restaurants and shops.
Cons: I could not realize how hot water is provided as when the day was not too hot the water in the morning was not comfortable for the shower, even not warm... The rest was OK.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The beds are super comfortable, fresh clean towels and a new bottle of water every day!
Cons: The showers took a while to get used to, and they are a bit small for space. Also the bathroom light makes it a bit dark in the shower.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hospitality is incredible! Thanks to the staff you can't see any inconveniences. If I will come back to Crete I for sure book Socrates hotel again.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff especially Sophia in reception excellent and made us feel very welcome. A lovely place to stay and close to beach and old town. Lovely breakfast with fresh food.

5,8 Okay
Pros: the beach, some really friendly staff
Cons: some very rude staff and continuous hidden extra fee’s throughout my stay, also some of the facilities were broken in the hotel room, also the rooms were not as represened online
5,0 Okay
Pros: Some staff were really helpful and friendly
Cons: Facilities were not as advertised, the rooms were smaller and less luxurious, with a completely different layout, hot water in the shower was not present, facilities were broke and not sufficiently working such as the hairdryer, lock for the door etc some staff were very rude while also trying to make money from having a guest stay in the room which I paid for that has two separate beds and this kind of scam-like behaviour was concurrent throughout their services in the hotel, which I feel is a shame as there were some very kind staff that worked
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location, whole set up, sea views, beach cafe, pool, parking & sun loungers
Cons: Breakfasts were too basic.

Pros: Room and common areas are of a very good quality and very clean. Room cleaning was efficient with regular change of towels and bed linen. Personnel is friendly and helpful.
Cons: Coffee at breakfast is from Nescafe's automatic machines - both coffee and milk are from powders. Mattresses in the room are firm but you feel springs through the fabric, which makes sleep uncomfortable - we had to place blankets under sheets to make our sleep better.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: the stuff ,the garden ,the supperior room. A friendly hotel
Cons: The bathroom without ventilation or window. Quite expensive.

Pros: great location close to the seaside, interesting architecture, wonderful garden full of fruit trees, clean rooms, very good and varied breakfast, big parking, nice swimming pool

4,6 Okay
Pros: Comparing it to the many other places we have stayed there is nothing that stands out.
Cons: The hitels pictures are not accurate. The place and facilities are old and in need of repair. Air con did not work very well and was only in the bedroon. The kitchen was just a kettle and a 2 ring electric hot plate. We arrived late and was taken to an apartment that looked nothing like the picture. We were told that the only other room available was a studio or we could have our money back. Not great customer service at nearly midnight and peak season. Did not feel we had value for money here. The bathrooms were really small and the tv only worked on one channel and had no usb capability .
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The quiet location (but so close from shops, restaurants and clubs), the pool, the restaurant and the beach nearby Lovely staff and beautiful fresh vegetables
Cons: The kitchens in the appartements (we rented 2) were not well enough equipped
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Not far from village center, but in very quite neighborhood. Very friendly staff. We liked very much the pool area. Very clean.
Cons: The room had only thick curtains, which was good for the morning sun, but otherwise prevent the air from cooling the room.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely quiet location
Cons: Everything was lovely
7,5 Good
Pros: Upon our arrival we had a bit of a disappointment as we were of the impression to have booked the seaside sister hotel Parthenis Beach (located a few hundred meters away). Having accepted that bit of inconvenience we learned that the hotel can be a bit noisy at night, especially when there are are groups of British youngsters residing. However, all of this way quite easily compensated by treatment provided by the Lady at reception/bar. Her name is Olga, and if you can be so lucky to have her as your host during your stay, consider yourself highly privileged. Olga represents everything and an unimaginable lot more you would ever want from a host. Don’t believe this? Very well, just find out yourself. Order a drink at the poolside bar and ask her anything you happen to have on your mind. Could be anything. Just make it genuinely meaningful to you. Mine was on the classic rock music she was playing and before I knew it she pointed me to some clues that rewrote rock history to me (Led Zep, Pink Floyd, the Doors, the Lady knows her stuff). And moments later we were discussing much more generic themes as how our generation (not Olga’s, she’ll never pass her early thirties) compares to today’s generation. These are just simple examples, not even in her sweet spot. Which I would qualify as teaching the university of life in all its richness and dilemmas. In a way we all believe and understand and long to be taught. This much younger twin sister of Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks, is an extremely gifted Lady. She’ll never claim it but she’s known to talk a bit of sense it the youngsters visiting her place, preventing them from regrettable excesses. Keep up that good work! Let me pause here and just summarize: the place is okay, bit noisy at night, but that doesn’t really matter.Your host Olga, in any conversation you’ll have with her, will make you appreciate the place and remember your stay.
Cons: Noisy groups of British youngsters keeping you awake at night

Pros: Very good 100%
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location and facilities, friendly and helpful staff, everything was run very smoothly and creatively to ensure leisure and pleasant vacation by the sea. Will definitely come back.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and always there if we needed something. The pool and also the room was very clean and had everything we needed. The pool opening hours are until 00:00 which we liked a lot. We also appreciated the fact that we could stay at their other hotel at the beach during the day. They also have a restaurant some walking minutes away from the hotel where they cook with vegetables which they get from their own garden. Unfortunately we didn't have time to go to the restaurant but I'm sure with these fresh vegetables the food would be delicious. Last but not least they have a huge parking space (green) which is nice to play football, frisbee or other things.
Cons: Nothing. We were very happy with our choise that's why we booked an additional night at the hotel.

Pros: Great hosts, super clean and comfortable, close to any resto or to the beach, still super calm. Amazing atmosphere, I will definitely get back. I met there a couple who comes to this place for 10 years already - what can be a stronger recommendation?

8,8 Excellent
Pros: The environment was great, stayed with lot of taste, our apartment was beautiful and very clean and comfortable, hospitality is on high level, swimming pool is great, location in quiet and family oriented not near loud streets of malia , but like 5 min from our events, good beach is near
Cons: Breakfast was very poor, you better go out and eat for same money, internet connection sometimes good sometimes bad it depends on location of apartment, water in shower can be tricky - hot water can suprice you, be careful.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: We loved our villa with own swimming pool, terrace and spacious rooms. The room in the hotel is also good (we tried both). Hosts are very kind and helpful.
Cons: The bar food could be a bit healthier. But there are some vegetables and fruit for your choice right from the farm

Pros: The family who owned and run the apartment complex and restaurant were very helpful they exceeded my expectations ,perfect hosts.
Cons: Just a little negative nothing I couldn't live with but I found the shower curtain a bit of a nuisance it was a little bit long for the shower base ,kept clinging to you and would block the plug hole. Very trivial really.

Pros: The most friendly and welcoming owners and staff, always available to help in any way they can. So close to the beach, pool and main strip. A beautiful typical Greek restaurant and apartments, cannot get better value for money and atmosphere than Malia Star and would love to go back!!
Cons: nothing at all!!
7,5 Good
Pros: Hosts are friendly and helpful.
Cons: Nosy and next to fields - smell and view are not the best here (I wouldn't come to Malia at all next time - nosy everywhere except the old town which is far away from the sea). There was a kichen, but was no kichen clothes to wash dishes and wipe a table. Was not very clean when we came - very sandy.

Pros: The best aspect about this accommodation place is the warm, friendly, helpful family who run the business at their best and their great efforts to make you feel the most comfortable. The apartment is of good size, well disposed and very clean. They own the restaurant of the place where the food and service are really great, too. The value for money is good, too. The slight distance from the main busy resort is a plus, in this case. The short walking distance to a quiet beach is a plus, too.
