Cons: This is not kind of a hotel with a poll or a luxurious spa. The view from our room was to a garbage yard / pub and the next morning was a horrible sewerage smell after we complained a couple of times they moved us to a suite. That was our wedding night.

Cons: Lack of spa and gym (gym room was very small). Surprisingly few days before our arrival we received a standard welcome mail from the hotel management with the description of hotel facilities including spa - and spa has never been opened! They told us when we arrived that the spa and swimming pool is still under construction. We were slightly disappointed but telling the truth Jerusalem has so much to offer so the lack of spa and swimming pool was not a big problem.

Cons: This property is very clean and new but it is not lively and happening because the atmosphere is crowded by ultra orthodox and sometimes you feel uncomfortable. Also there is no pool or spa is there.

A real diet-buster... Rooms are extremely comfortable and well-lit. Views on the Old-City side are breathtaking. Generous with towels, toiletries, bath-robes, water etc. Gym is spotless and well-equipped.

Cons: Being made to wait until 7pm to check in on arrival. Dirty and torn sheets which were not changed even after 3 separate requests. We had to speak with the manager for them to be changed. Our entire group was given twin rooms despite booking - and paying extra for - doubles. Safes broken in two of the rooms, one was never fixed. Doors access cards did not work and we had to be let into our rooms by security each night which took up to 30 mins. Each night! Bathrooms were dirty and toiletries not replenished. Water was not replenished in two rooms but it was in one room. When we asked for water the receptionist said she would charge for it! Staff made zero efforts to address any of the issues despite repeated requests - only speaking with the duty manager got us clean bed linens. Mattress springs poking out on the the side of the bed and I cut myself on it. Receptionist, Tehila, actually sneered and shrugged when we said we were disappointed and unhappy that things were not being fixed in our room. And said: ‘it’s not for me to do’ Stale sandwich for 12gbp when we had to wait for almost 2 hours to be checked in. Rooms were dated, bathrooms were dated and dirty. Nothing like the photos online. Terrible value for money and if this is a 5-star hotel then I’m Donald Duck.

Cons: To my mind it does not merit its 5 star rating, at least when compared to the “average” 5 star hotel elsewhere (in particular the elite international brands). While undeniably an important fixture in Jerusalem’s modern history, as a place to stay the hotel appears to be sitting on its laurels and living on past glories (those “glories” being evidenced for all to see by the copies of signatures of famous past guests which pave the reception area). The room was perfectly nice, but dated and the air conditioning could do with a thorough clean, as use gave us all allergies. While some staff (notably the doormen and breakfast restaurant staff) were very friendly (especially to our young daughter), the concierge was borderline inept and several of the staff were indifferent at best and rude at worst. I appreciate that these are all first world problems in the greater scheme of things, but when you are paying 5 star prices, a 5 star experience should be received.

Cons: Staff was nice but some surprising (repeated) mistakes. - We ordered a drink in the room, the person on the phone wasn't understanding english too well, and the staff had to come 3 times before we got the right drink. - We asked for a room with twin beds, confirmed it at check in, and when we got in the room, we had king beds. - The person who brought us to our room told us he would fix it immediately; 2 hours later, we had to call to get it fixed. - Etc. Nothing serious, staff was very nice, but the repeated nature of the mistakes suggests some organizational issues.

Pros: The breakfast was and always has been awesome. The staff goes beyond our expectations to make sure we are completely satisfied. I have never been treated so well during my years of travel. I have stayed multiple times at this hotel. I bring groups there because of the staff and service we received. A few of the staff members that went beyond their duties were, Yael, the relations department, Mr. Minas, the dining room manager, M.Ail, one of the housekeepers and Ms. Jehan, housekeeper supervisor. Our hats are off to the entire staff at the Jerusalem Leonardo Hotel on St. George St. We spend our 50th Anniversary there during this stay. Thanks.

We arrived a little later than planned and Yael called us from the hotel to check if everything was all right. she gave us an upgrade of the room, free parking and a small gift in the room, a box of cookies. We especially liked the refrigerator, which did excellent cooling work and even freezed our water bottles. The soap and shampoo provided in the bathroom were excellent, the girls were enthusiastic about the smell and softness. There are facilities for making hot drinks in the room, Although they could provide more milk powder for the coffee.

Cons: Outrageously rude and ignorant staff. We have stayed in many hotels around the world, and in Israel, and I can honestly say that I have never encountered hotel staff who are as rude and generally unhelpful as those we encountered this week at the Leonardo Hotel Jerusalem. The consistently belligerent attitude we experienced among most (not all) of your staff was staggering and appalling. They made us feel as if anything we asked (e.g, a drink from the bar, a bowl of nuts, looking after our luggage after checking out) was an enormous inconvenience. Sometimes, our requests were completely ignored. When we did get a response, staff made us feel like they were doing us a huge favour and that our request was a great inconvenience to them. In summary, your rude, lazy staff ruined our stay. Needless to say, we will never be staying at the Leonardo Hotel Jerusalem again, and frankly, I do not understand how they manage to stay in business. A hideous experience.

Cons: The room they put me at first was in a room with no AC and the WiFi wasn’t working in that room and there was stain on the bed, it took then almost 2 hours to finally get someone to come check everything out after complaining 3 times. The person at the front desk was annoyed with me for complaining. The finally sent someone to check everything out, I let it cool off for about 2 hours and went down again to complain and they finally moved me into a new room. The room they put me was okay and the bed was very uncomfortable. Also I didn’t like the breakfast except for the pancakes.

Cons: I can't think of anything to make things better. I have stayed at several hotels there in Jerusalem and in Israel during these years that I have been coming to Israel. I enjoy this hotel more than any other.

Cons: A bit dated hotel, cleaning service could have been better. The second day I found my pijama thrown on the desk, dirty coffee mugs and no refill for the coffee in the room. At a 300 $ a night room, this is inacceptabile. Food and beverages at the bar overpriced, compared to other restaurants and hotels in the area. (We stayed an extra night at a different hotel). Although they say you can make international calls from the room, it was not possible throughout our entire stay, despite the fact that we reported the problem from the day we arrived

Cons: Staff is trained but except for reception most employees, you can feel that they don't care and don't want to be here. There are supervisers, hosts, managers, but too few waiters. Also a waiter should be assigned to the specific table, not that every time guest is being asked if they ordered something. Food is decent, but not a 5 star hotel standard. Do not cook european dishes if you do not know how. I can give you free lessons how to cook sauce for pasta or take it out of the menu. That goes to both restaurants. I was expecting more local/cozy design. You are trying to be too modern and too western. Overpriced 4 star hotel. Oh and there is no wifi on sundeck and it doesn't look inviting..

Pros: An excellent staff made our stay particularly nice. We made a couple unusual requests and the professional staff at the American Colony stepped up without hesitation to provide for our needs. We hesitated before booking in this location but found it to be very welcoming and comfortable. The breakfast provided was also fantastic and diverse even by Israeli big breakfast standards. Our only less than stellar comment is that the selection of books and literature in the gift/book shop is very one sided and partisan. This shouldn't have been totally surprising but given the excellence and absence of political statements everywhere else it became noticeable. A great hotel.

Cons: The value for money is really bad when you stay in the hotel. It’s really noisy if you stay in a room with the Patio view : breakfast and dinner served in the terrace under your window ! And unfortunately the sound proof is really bad. We said it was our honeymoon and we wanted a quiet room but the man in reception didn’t evaluate the quietness the same way ! No misunderstanding: it’s a really nice hotel ! But a bit expensive if you want a 5 stars service !

Cons: The food wasn't quite to our taste. Although plentiful, the breakfast was too much of the same thing, and everything tasted the same after a while. Friday night dinner in the dining room was extremely expensive and the food was also way too much of the same thing - Moroccan and other Eastern style cuisine with no variation. Also, we found it strange that the hotel provides complimentary bottles of water for the rooms on the first day but during every other day we had to order additional bottles from the bar and pay for them. Israel is extremely hot in the summer, and most hotels refresh the complimentary bottles daily. There was no mini bar even though it was advertised.

Cons: The on-site restaurant (Scalia) was a disappointment, I mentioned to the on duty manager the next day that they needed to work on the service and food. Surprisingly they comped the meal, which I wasn’t asking for nor expecting. That was very classy.

Pros: The hotel's location is excellent. The breakfast that was included in the room rate was extensive and well prepared.
Cons: Service was awful. We had to ask for additional towels each day and, when they were brought, they weren't the number or ones we had asked for. Service at breakfast was abymal. We had to continually chase after the waitstaff to bring us coffee and replenish the cup throughout the meal. The room was made up very late in the day. This consisted of a "turn down" which really was not that as the bed was never made earlier. The carpet was filthy, the shower stall was never cleaned, and soap and facial tissues were offered only sparingly. The hotel definitely does not deserve its five-star rating.

Cons: A bit dirty, shower didn’t work was rusty. Linens and towels were old. The hall had a couch with dirty linens (next to my bedroom) and also the service car was abandoned in the middle of the hall. When we arrive the people at the front desk were arguing (they didn’t know we understood their language) if they should give me the room (they had it ready) or if they should charge me $50 dlls because I was early. So we came back later (a new shift had started) and the same thing happened, they were talking to each other telling that our room was given to an angry costumer that was next to us... so if you don’t speak Arab be aware of what they say, it’s sooooo rude to talk about your costumers in front of them only because they think they don’t understand. It’s important to mention that is in the Arab side of the old city, taxi’s could be a bit sensitive about that, is a traditional Arab neighborhood so the shops close a bit early

Pros: The location is excellent the room was spacious and the view was nice.
Cons: The rooms are old an need renovation. The carpets were not clean. The same goes for the pool. The hotel parking was not always available

Pros: Location. Continental Breakfast was very good. It felt like an old high-spec hotel. Very good gym facility. Our bed was king size and comfortable.
Cons: Hammerjack woke us up. Unfortunatelly sofa bed was very basic and sheets were torn on the sofa bed used by our children. Pool area was being renovated.

Cons: The staff are friendly and mean well. They responded promptly to my complains re the cleaning condition of the room as well as the poor maintenance of the room. When we received it it was dirty, old food items in the drawers, desks not cleaned from previous guests, sheets of the beds full with sand, lamps were broken as well as shower handle...thay took it seriously and cleaned it/fixed it, but I would not expect this low level of maintenance from a hotel that charges me for $400 a night (a rate which is outrages itself for Jerusalem...). Again, staff did handle my complains, but I would expect to be compensated in a more respectful way than a plate of fruits. Also, pool area is packed with cigarettes, which have not been cleaned for days... Too bad. I would be happy to be a lot for a great value and hotel that respects me as a guests, and take responsibility for its faults. But paying that much and getting this in return...No. Won't happen anywhere else in the world. Only in Israel.

Cons: We walked in to toenail clippings on the floor, hair clumps in the sheets , and rotting food in the corner of the room.

There was no breakfast. White bread, instant coffee disguised in a coffee pot, a few olives and chumus is not a breakfast and nitnanything edible certainly not forna trzvler who intentionally books a hotel with breakfast included. In addition, children can’t eat thst .
