Pros: Kipling Manotel is a lovely boutique hotel (with secured carpark at extra charge) in a very convenient location. The beautiful Geneva Lake is about 6 minutes walk away. We arrived by train from Lyon France and the station is also about 6 minutes walking distance. There are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets nearby. Walking to the old town is only about 30-35 minutes. The hotel provided us passes for public transport within Geneva during our stay (bravo!). All modes of transport are convenient and within short walking distance from the Hotel. Rooms are very well appointed, quiet, comfortable and clean with nice shower. The staff are warm and helpful, special thanks to Maria, Tiffany and Laura who have provided us with lots of useful information for Geneva.

Cons: Room service menu featured a lot of options but unfortunately not many were available. Air con was turned off in Sep and we found the room was quite warm even in Nov. however a fan was provided. If you like hard beds, then you will be happy. Geneva is an expensive city so book ahead to get a reasonable rate.

I had to order room service quite a lot because I was working so much: very limited choice, they never had what I wanted, the quality of the food was really bad. Cons: - small small rooms - the toilet is totally unbearable, my knees were hitting the structure for the paper toilet it was so small... for 5 star hotel, I never saw such a small toilet, very impractical, I had to be in a certain body position to actually be able to.... - shower water pressure very very weak. -staff needs to be more professional, one gets the sense that they are not from the hotel training, but hired from outside, there is a lack of understanding or listening on what the customer wants or basic understanding of hotels level rules (i.e. not clean a room and enter a room where the notice indicates no service for today, and when you confirmed it on the phone with the cleaning lady. So they still went into my room, and all my belongings were disclosed on the table, but I got a sorry note and chocolates. But this is un professional).

Pros: We knew from the moment we entered the hotel, that we were going to enjoy our stay at Hotel N'vy. The staff were incredibly welcoming and made the check-in process as simple as possible. I loved the modern features of the room, from the lighting to the bathroom. We had a very well stocked mini bar full of good quality spirits, wine and soft drinks - as well as snacks. My sister and I both really enjoyed the buffet breakfast in the morning. I personally found the hotel to be great value for money for Geneva and is deserving of 5 stars. The overall ambiance of the hotel was lovely and I would definitely like to return.

Pros: Was a solo traveler. Arrived via a bus from the airport (FREE!!). Bus stop is 2 blocks away from the hotel. It's more a residential neighborhood. A great value for the money. It was clean - hardwood floors throughout. Had the best hair dryer ever! Access to the city center was convenient - a few Tram stops away with the Tram stop being about 2 blocks away from the hotel. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. McDonald's, a bakery, and a convenient store is about 2 to 3 blocks away, so you have access to quick bites.

Cons: Location is also close to a local red light district, so some of the surrounding areas are a bit seedy, but seedy Geneva is a clean neighborhood in most other cities. Room climate control was not adjustable and room was just too hot in the winter.

Cons: The breakfast is served in the pub next door, which at 7 am is a little bizzarre, nevertheless it was fine. The pub staff is not really warm welcoming: this should be considered by the hotel management and is for sure to be improved!

Cons: Got a little disappointed for the overall quality since it's a 4 star hotel. I asked about the air conditioning and got informed that since it was cold outside, they wouldn't turn on . So I had to open the windows all the time because it was hot inside the rooms, but whenever the windows were open I got a lot of noise from the station. Also the tub curtains sliders were broken.

Pros: Transport by train, bus and tram is so easy and free in Geneva; the tram stops right outside the door. The room was clean and reasonably spacious. Incredibly convenient for the town and the Palexpo. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The lifts are very small but very necessary and functional. There were plenty of places to explore even walking distance from the hotel.
Cons: The kitchen area wasn't really usable as so small. The cleaning service was restricted over the weekend.

Pros: The location was awesome! And the room was very comfy and roomy. It is cleaned every day! The high ceiling and windows give you a more airy space. The staff was really kind and helpful. The internet has a good connection so that you can complete your work in your room. The heating was also good, I didn't feel cold at all.

Cons: Although I think the bathroom was nice, in my opinion there should be used something else instead of a shower curtain. Because it really does not allow you to take a proper shower without splattering and struggling with it.

Cons: this is a small detail but in the breakfast area the tables are so long and together it doesnt' feel very comfortable when you are travelling alone. maybe mix it up with bigger and smaller eating areas for solo travellers. Nice coffee !

Cons: Very noisy! Extremely bad isolation, you can hear how the phone is vibrating in the next room. The morning, when other guests are getting ready for their day and the time from 10h till 15h are horribly noisy.. just until the cleaning staff does their job. The first day, I tried to have a nap after the flight - was absolutely not possible. The next day I was obliged to work from my room and the same, endless bumping of the doors, talks in the corridor and other noise....apparently the same happens in other hotels, but due to better isolation, guests are not suffering... After the cleaning, the bed was made, the towels were changed, but the hair and other trash were still on the floor...

Cons: Room keys are kept at front desk when guests go out. Staff did not verify our identity when we returned from our day out and asked for our room number's key. I felt this was a security issue, especially for females traveling with no males in their party.

Cons: The cooling of Air condition even though it was October was required more as the temperature outside was not so cold , this need to be taken care, Hope this gets taken care in better way and proper adjustment of temperature would be considered .

Cons: 1- when I first entered the room, there was a bad eggy smell I didn’t know where does it come from! At night I noticed it’s from the sheets and the pillows! One of the pillows smell really bad like fenugreek!!! I told the receptionist in the morning and they said they will change them ! Unfortunately, they didn’t ! When I called them , they said house keeping is closed and they don’t have any extra pillows!! How am I supposed to sleep on? 2- I booked a family room which is supposed to be a superior room! It was very small room that you could hardly move around it. 3- We needed an adapter to charge our phones when we arrived! They sell it for 25! 4- The carpet is very old and not clean!

Cons: Very run down and needs upgrading - photos of the property are very deceiving. Staff are nice but are only available during the day so if you have a problem as we did with very noisy neighbours who smoked, you have to address it yourself. Also, be aware that there are no smoke alarms in the rooms.
