Pros: 1.Grand Hotel Kempinsky is a luxury hotel, but what was more then excellent was staff attitude , help, and feeling they serve you without feeling they waiting for tips as many times I felt at other hotels, any problem at each level was answered promptly and pleasantly always over any expectations we might have. They give more then necessary on any request like our satisfaction is their only purpose.
The hotel restaurants are excellent , the staff very honest in their help thinking for us benefit.We inquired for a special dish -well the waiter suggested that maybe we should share it as it might be enough for sharing.We got this italian speciality it was excellent and indeed enough for two and it was not the most expensive choice on the menu.
They give us cards for public transport in Geneva good for train, bus or tram, or the boat in front of the hotel to take us over the lake in the middle of Geneva downtown.

Cons: Only point of weakness we found was the slow WIFI in our room, but instead they gave us free wired internet connection super fast both at upload and download. That served any business connection I needed.

Cons: This was a honeymoon trip and within we have visited Rome, Capri, Venice, Geneve, and Paris. This hotel is the only hotel that didn't even bother to give us an upgrade in any way not even a better view room. Other hotel all upgrded us and one hotel gave us thier best suit and it was a 5 start hotel.

Cons: The insecurity about the fact that you don't know if you have a view. For the price you should have a view. I went round to ask for this and they couldn't garantuee this. Well, if you know you are full then you know how you are going to devide the rooms. All was well in the end though.

It's near the train station and public transport is very convenient. The staff is all nice and helpful. The room we had at first had some problems with the TV and phone. Pros: We knew from the moment we entered the hotel, that we were going to enjoy our stay at Hotel N'vy. The staff were incredibly welcoming and made the check-in process as simple as possible. I loved the modern features of the room, from the lighting to the bathroom. We had a very well stocked mini bar full of good quality spirits, wine and soft drinks - as well as snacks. My sister and I both really enjoyed the buffet breakfast in the morning. I personally found the hotel to be great value for money for Geneva and is deserving of 5 stars. The overall ambiance of the hotel was lovely and I would definitely like to return.

Cons: I did not sleep well at all - the mattress was old and dipped in the middle and the pillow was far too high. I woke up with terrible neck and back pain. I would love to come back but will not be because I cannot risk that happening again.

Cons: Since it's a 4star hotel, we expect more, however, it looks old especially the ceiling in the bathroom is cracking. The table next to the bed is dangerous because the corner is sharp and my mom and I got hurt by it a few times. We had to cover it with a towel. It was really hot during our stay so we had to use air conditioning. But it has noise and we had to switched it off when we sleep.

Pros: Was a solo traveler. Arrived via a bus from the airport (FREE!!). Bus stop is 2 blocks away from the hotel. It's more a residential neighborhood. A great value for the money. It was clean - hardwood floors throughout. Had the best hair dryer ever! Access to the city center was convenient - a few Tram stops away with the Tram stop being about 2 blocks away from the hotel. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. McDonald's, a bakery, and a convenient store is about 2 to 3 blocks away, so you have access to quick bites.

Cons: Breakfast buffet/full breakfast is expensive (or normal by Geneva standards - I believe approx. 30 CHF). It's not exactly "city center" - you have to take a Tram or the bus to get to the city center; definitely not within walking distance (you can get there about 30 min walking). The beds are hard, but clean linens.

Cons: We were there during a heatwave. The room is advertised as air conditioned, however, it was not at all effective. Breakfast items were not replaced in a timely manner and many of the 'hot' foods were cold. We purchased a 'special' breakfast offer on arrival, but were hassled each morning by the breakfast staff, insisting that we were not booked in. Took quite a lot of convincing and checking before we were proved to be correct!

Pros: Breakfast was excellent. Location is good as there is a bus stop directly in front of the hotel e.g. if you need to go to UNO. Rooms are clean and spacious.
Cons: Air conditioning did not work so it was quite hot in the room. Staff was however very friendly and tried to do everything to make my stay pleasant: They tried to repair it, but it still did not work. They offered to change the room which I did not accept as I only stayed one more night.

Cons: Despite an outside temperature of 20 degrees, the indoor temp felt closer to 40. The window in the room opens but that is not useful when there is no cross ventilation. No one on my room could sleep due to the temperature. I literally broke into a sweat within a minute of entering the room. At 3am I checked out and went to a neighboring hotel.

Cons: Unhelpful gentleman at the front desk. The building is ugly from the outside and in the hallways. Thin walls meant noise at night. The coffee makers did not have coffee for one and any sugar in the room.

Pros: Excellent location. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is beyond expectation - quality food and coffee (real coffee, not capsules or the usual hotel-coffee). Good colt cuts, great cheeses. Proper selection- we do not have more types at home either. Large variety of cereals, bakery products (including muffins). Very close to the Lake and the Main train station, right next to the bus station.
Cons: Reconstruction work in the streets, bit of noise early morning - can live with it. Parent bedroom is excellent, the two kids stayed on a "convertible" sofa - not so comfortable, but still ok.

Cons: They take a guarantee on your credit card so be careful. To get it cancelled in case you pay them through a different forex card. Secondly, their bathrooms are very spartan & if you’re unlucky like me they’ll give you one reserved for disabled people which is a huge no no for a romantic getaway.

Cons: My room was meant to be a ‘superior’ room. No. 701 - directly beneath the ‘gym’ which is a few machines and treadmill. Gym opens at 6:30 - so if you like to wake up to the noise of someone running this is the room for you. Also next to the lift, air con was rubbish so opened window - it’s next to main line railway! Take earplugs. Breakfast for cost was theft! Bar that - enjoyed leaving

Cons: We arrived to a very dark reception area. checked into the hotel pre paid and were asked for 400CHF deposit on a room we had already paid for. We were told that it’s just the card details to be held and no deposit will be taken. By the time I got to the lift, the money was taken out. The hotel staff were responding ok at best. The gym is unusable as most of the machines (6 in total) are broken and there is no air con in the room so it’s a complete sweat box. The pillows were very lumpy so I didn’t get a good nights sleep and our tv had about 6 channels that worked. The bathroom is the tiniest bathroom I have been in at a hotel and the shower head was hanging with no place to support it for a good shower. I am 6ft 3 and when I was standing in the shower/bath. My head was hitting the ceiling. The tiles were brown stained also. We asked for a do not disturb sign for one of the days. When we returned, there was a sign on the door saying they will come into the room for security purposes, which made me feel extremely uncomfortable. Don’t waste your money on this hotel. Almost £700 for 4 nights plus city tax. Let’s hope Vienna changes our experiences! :)

Pros: The rooms were small but very functional, you had everything you need. The breakfast was very good. You had to pay 20SFR for parking but got tickets for the tram in exchange. The tram station is practically in front of the hotel and it only takes around 10 minutes to get to the city. Perfect for a stroll around lake Geneva. Staff was very friendly, we would definitely book again!
