Overview Reviews
Since 1850, the Willard has epitomized Washington luxury hotels and remains a destination for the world’s power brokers and visitors drawn to the nation’s capital. The hotel is charming and sophisticated, situated in a coveted location: just two blocks from the White House and National Mall. Revered by locals and guests, the Round Robin remains a lively meeting place since the days of Abraham Lincoln. After a busy day in D.C; enjoy a relaxing treatment at the Red Door Spa.

Pros: Large rooms, nicely appointed, and great location
Cons: It was a little drab and some parts of the room but maybe that was the charm of it?
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Loved everything about this trip, would definitely go back! The only thing I would change is my length of stay. Suggest at least 1-week to see/experience DC.
Cons: n/a

Pros: Everything! Hospitality excellence. Congrats. Will return.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was absolutely amazing! Great location
Cons: The room may have been undergoing renovations and there was unfinished sheetrock in the ceiling.
3,3 Mediocre
Pros: Close to attractions, as are most other Washington hotels
Cons: Couldn’t check-in at 3:30 due to ‘cleaning issues’, even though check-in was at 3pm. Was offered free breakfast, even though we had already paid for it. When we finally checked in at 8pm, room provided was MUCH smaller than advertised and no sofa bed nor seating area was provided. Poor attitude by staff proclaiming it wasn’t their fault, and that they didn’t know that the descriptions on booking.com were false. Kept pointing us to the confirmation email which was sent AFTER the booking. ‘Oh it doesn’t say sofa bed’, ‘Oh it doesn’t say the room size was bigger’. In that case, it could have said ‘no toilets guaranteed’. Quite pathetic really. I’ve experienced better service at hostels.

Cons: Nothing
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The location was great, staff very friendly especially the concierge , door men and the restaurant.many restaurants around the hotel, most of attractions are in close proximity.
Cons: The reservation staff are not friendly and welcoming, My room was the worst I guess in the hotel, despite my efforts to change it, the gentleman treated me as you take it or leave, I was surprised by his attitude .The shower is outdated, needs to be changed to new easy use. The AC is terrible in my room, blowing on the bed. I don’t understand why the restaurant in 5 stars hotel close on Monday???
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is beautiful and the staff is very accommodating. The parking of $64 per day is a little steep on top of all the room taxes. The WI FI should be secured. But overall a great experience.
Cons: See above.
6,7 Good
Pros: The mattress was comfy. Room was clean. Room was quiet except for being close to the elevator and hearing it ding all night. Not a typical St Regis quality hotel.
Cons: Cable TV was a problem, intermittent connection problems. Bath shower/tub was impossible to get into and im in great shape, i cant emphasize how dangerous this shower was getting in and out. Staff was not friendly except front door guys. Check-in offered champagne, but when i asked for sparkling water instead, looks would kill. Ended up with a little bottle of regular water, no glass, no napkin, no service.

Cons: We had a very rude staff member check us into the hotel. We arrived early, just wanted to drop our bags off and head out again, didn’t necessarily expect to check-in. Pros: The room was big. The location was fantastic. So close to the white house and another attractions.
Cons: The TV
10,0 Excellent
Pros: If you are coming to D.C., with family to see the Capital Mall and surrounds then this location is wonderful. Walk to Lincoln Memorial then catch the buses or metro from their. It is right across the street from the college so it has that atmosphere with students around day and night. A good pizza and salad restaurant is close by as well as pharmacy store for last minute items or late night snacks. The staff was fantastic, very friendly and helpful for all my questions. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The kitchenette was a convenience. A couple on a get away will enjoy this location very much and it is quiet at night!
Cons: This is more of a advisory than a dig on the hotel but parking is very limited as you would expect of a downtown D.C., location. The streets surrounding the hotel are time restricted and the hotel has valet only parking for their small underground parking garages. You will be charged a D.C. area, meaning substantial, fee for the valet parking but it is really your only option. So know that going in and you would enjoy this location very much.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Nice location, good size of the room, kitchenette and comfortable bed
Cons: The TV was old and watching football wasn’t a big pleasure The furniture is a bit outdated

7,0 Good
Pros: The addition of the kitchen with the room was great and really convenient. The staff were really pleasant and helpful.
Cons: The gym was very small with consequently limited equipment. Additionally, the room card did not open the toilets adjacent to the gym so you had to go looking for a staff member to access it - not at all convenient at 6.30am

Pros: Good location. Bell staff and concierge were very helpful.
Cons: Housekeeping was inconsistent. No washcloths second night. Half turn down service. 3rd night no bath mat, no turn down service. No bottled water. Long strands of black hair on sheet. Gross. Furniture in room is old. Told front desk on second and third day. Perhaps housekeeping was mad so by the 3rd night we got bad service. First time I never left a gratuity for the housekeeper . For 1000.00 for 3 nights I was disappointed.

Cons: Room service after 11 pm is bad.

Pros: Breakfast was very good. Location close to many DC attractions.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is amazing. Very, very, very clean. Excellent, friendly, caring staff, from the desk clerk, bell and valet, to the room cleaners. Everyone addresses you by name. Free coffee in the lobby in the morning. Superb bathroom with a super shower AND a soaking tub. So comfortable beds. Just three blocks to the Smithsonian Castle. Look for a special deal: stay two nights and get the third night free. It makes this hotel manageable. If you have a group, check out the Club Lounge, where food and drink are available at certain times. Although it sounds pricey, when compared to the restaurant, it could be a better deal. It was for us.
Cons: The restaurant prices are high, but the service is impeccable.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everyone was very nice and the food was wonderful. The hotel was spotless and decorated very well.
Cons: Nothing. It was great.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything good
8,3 Excellent
Cons: I loved a lot about this hotel - location was great, bed was very comfortable, and the room was quiet and peaceful. However, there were bugs!!! I think this might be because there wasn't a cover on the shower drain so bugs could crawl in and out. There was a millipede in the bathroom and then two different bugs in my bag and crawling on the floor. Bummer.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Location was great and the room was a good size with a living room and kitchen
Cons: The property is in need of an update. A few spots with paint peeling, socket covers coming off the wall. We had to ask for coffee each day as housekeeping didn’t bring us any

Cons: That there was no swimming pool.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Comfy bed. Wonderful shower. Girlfriend very impressed.
6,7 Good
Pros: Quiet, clean, safe.
Cons: Price gouging. Parking was $57 per night!!!! I used SpotHero and got a convenient spot 2 blocks away for $40 for 2 nights. If they can do that, why can’t the hotel? You don’t gouge customers if you want them to return. Also, I left my belongings with the Bellman only to return to find them on a cart out in plain sight with no bellman around. My laptop and everything else was there for anyone to take. Not good.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great dinner at High Velocity on site! Hotel checked us in (way) early. Staff was awesome. Valet service was quick and easy. Proximity to convention center cannot be beat.
Cons: Only thing that would make this our very favorite hotel would be a pool. Kids still like to have a little break from all the activities to chill out at a pool.

Pros: The bed was amazing!! Everything is great about this hotel. Excellent gym too!
Cons: Nothing I don’t like!

Pros: Location
Cons: Rooms are dated--you can't rely on location forever.

Pros: The hotel and room were completely new as they have been recently renewed. We had a room with excellent views to Pensilvania Avenue.
Cons: Being the hotel enormous, the size of the room was extremely small. We had two connected rooms as we were a family of 5, but pulling in 5 big suitcases left us almost with no space for walking. The bathroom was very small, two people could not be in at the same time (and we are small), and didn’t have a bath. Breakfast was very poor in terms of quality and quantity of products, and expensive As value for price did not match. This forced us to have breakfast outside of the hotel because food was like the one we use to eat at school (bad ham, bad sausages, bad rolls). We also found that there was no longer a pool when the description of the hotel included one.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Situation
Cons: Everything was too expensive from breakfast ,drinks in the bar and the shop. Spend your money out with the hotel

Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The bartender went the extra mile to make sure everyone who was traveling alone felt like they weren’t alone.
Cons: I would’ve liked a small list of walking distance things to do.
3,8 Mediocre
Pros: The room was awful. The lobby was tasteful and well appointed and the staff was pleasant. We had a nice lunch in the on sight restaurant. Then we got to our room and just wow! The furnishings were worn, there was a window in the bathroom that had actual mold on it and wouldn’t shut as it was in the shower and the only ventilation for the bathroom, and the kitchen was not only filthy it was falling apart. We went right back downstairs and they changed our room and guess what, it was exactly like the previous one except that the window shut. There was actually a moldy mini blind in the shower! Stay away!!!
Cons: The nasty bathrooms, kitchen from the seventies, and worn out finishes.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room I stayed in was absolutely gorgeous. The bed was super comfortable, it had a big desk overviewing the city that made working very pleasant. The small kitchen was very useful. The bathroom was very clean, with all the amenities need. Very spacious, very very comfortable. The staff of the hotel was incredibly helpful and nice. I loved staying at the River Inn and would definitely come back if I have the chance.

Pros: Location
Cons: Noisy Airconditioning
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The front desk staff especially Luke, Adrienne and Savannah were very friendly and helpful, giving lots of great restaurant recommendations and general information. Bikes were available for use free of charge. Our room was very spacious with kitchenette included and there was a Wholefoods store nearby for supplies. Good location convenient to restaurants and within walking distance of many main attractions in DC. Complimentary refreshments available in the early evening.
Cons: Air conditioning unit very loud when in use
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This a small residential hotel in the Foggy Bottom area of DC, near lots of shop;s, restaurants and Whole Foods/Trader Joe's. Easy walk to the Kennedy Center. The room had bedroom, dining, kitchen and living area. Very good restaurant. Walk everywhere.
Cons: No
9,6 Excellent
Pros: I loved how large our room was. It was about double the size of other surrounding hotels. It had a separate kitchen and they were super accommodating with the cookware. The room was very clean and the staff was lovely. They had no issues bringing whatever we requested, and quickly. They also offered free yoga classes and bikes you could use to travel the city. They offer a service where they’ll stock the fridge for you and the prices are super reasonable. One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at.
Cons: The showers were small. I’m 4’11 and felt a little tight. My fiancé is about 6 foot so I can only imagine how he felt. If the bikes were unavailable, many things were about a 30 minute walk away, which is a bit much when it’s hot. But you could uber for $5-7, so it was a pretty convenient location if you didn’t have to walk. That’s really be just nitpicking. The place was really great.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was wonderful! They changed out our iron, sent scissors up...responded to all our needs!!!! The restaurant was exceptional! The boss guy gave us a little chocolate cake to go w our red wine:) very very nice all around!
Cons: We went to visit your sister hotel, the avenue suites....that staff at front desk wasnt nearly as friendly....although the bar tender was super nice’—the front desk staff was a bit snobby:(

6,3 Good
Pros: The manager named Princess is friendly and helpful. However, other employees are not helpful at all.
Cons: earliest check in at 4 pm and u have to check out at 11 am. Worst I have every seen. Noise because of decoration going on all day and I could not take a nap in day time.
7,9 Good
Pros: Eduardo at the front desk was phenomenal. The daily breakfast was THE best and saved us so much time and money. The daily happy hour was nice, although I couldn't take part more than once. The pool and hot tub were great, although the pool was a little cold the first time we used it. Overall, it was a great place to stay with family and the location was excellent.
Cons: There was a mix-up through the company I booked the reservation with and we received a phone call at about 1 a.m. asking if we were still wanting our reservation. The woman on the other end was very hard to understand and didn't seem very willing to listen to what had happened. We were then told we needed to check in over the phone (even though we were hours from the hotel) and that we would be charged for that night (even though we had modified our reservation). After our stay, I tried to communicate with the hotel that I didn't want to be charged for the initial night and I had email confirmation to state that the reservation had been modified and I was told by the hotel staff that we never were and there was no record of any issue. So...I am just left a bit confused and perhaps lost in translation. Nonetheless, we had a great trip and would do it again.

With a stay at POD DC, you'll be centrally located in Washington, within a 5-minute walk of Smithsonian American Art Museum and CityCenterDC. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Great central location, very clean rooms and comfy beds.
Cons: The room was quite small and the bathroom with sliding glass door was very close to the bed.But for the great price I didn't find this a problem. My travel companion felt a bit claustrophobic though.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Novel idea - everything you need, nothing you don’t. Was impressed by cleanliness and small room design & layout.
6,7 Good
Pros: This location is great if you want to be close to restaurants and shopping. The restaurant downstairs (southern food) was excellent very clean and good food. Staff in the hotel were great very helpful and friendly. Bed was comfy.
Cons: There is no onsite Parking. They offer a lot close by which is 5-10 min walk from the hotel. So if you do arrive to the hotel drop off your bags there check in then park your car. The parking price was $25 a day an you could go in an out of the lot which was good. BUT be AWARE you need to reserve a parking spot for that lot through the hotel (website)in order to enter the parking lot its all done by scanning your QRcode. The room we stayed in was TINY. The ac unit was so big and loud it randomly would switch to heating in the middle of the night so that would wake us. The room was so small that my wife who is laying on the bed could reach over an grab my hand while i was in the toilet. The bathroom door was not an actual door it was a sliding door so you could only imagine if your doing you necessities next to the person. The bedding was strange there was a duvet with not cover it was two regular bedsheets in between.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean compact room. Staff very friendly. Convenient to all the major sites in Washington.
Cons: Area Around Pod was a little run down. A lot of people hanging around
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We were expecting a pod room with basic facilities but were pleasantly surprised when we arrived! The place is clean, fresh, really welcoming and a cool base for exploring Washington! Whilst some might consider the room smaller than normal, it was perfect for us and our luggage and the bed was comfy! The staff were helpful and friendly and the diner downstairs served amazing southern food!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: I didn't eat breakfast at the POD but I had dinner two nights and it was great!
Cons: Room was a little small but OK for just me.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was accommodating. We arrived early and they were happy to keep our bags. The hotel was very clean and maintained. Very good for the price
Cons: The area was not the best, however it is much cheaper than other hotels close to the center. Breakfast not included
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness and location.
Cons: Room a little on the smaller size.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very helpful. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The location is rather central with an easy access to everything one might need.
Cons: It is rather noisy. My windows were facing the busy road, so one can hear sounds coming from cars, garbage trucks, and street musicians on a regular basis.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Nice clean modern rooms
Cons: I had a room on the corner so heard s little of outside noise, not enough to disturb me though
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room is like staying with a friend and sleeping in their spare bedroom. The bed was super comfortable, bathroom was a perfect match to the size of the room. The roof top bar is a great place to catch views of the city day or night. The Crimson was a place to grab a quick bite to eat regardless of what meal it was.
Cons: The shower curtain gets a little friendly if you like your showers hot. Leaving the curtain open a few inches helped at the cost of having a damp floor mat.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, just off the metro. The staff were amazing and super helpful; because there were available rooms, they even let us check in early when we arrived at 11am! The check out process was a breeze. The room is exactly as pictured. There are water machines on various floors which was super handy.
Cons: Unfortunately the TV at the top bunk was broken; just a slight inconvenience.

Pros: We loved the breakfast every morning and the fact that it was right in the city. I found the beds and the pillows to be very comfortable. Slept very well. Staff was fantastic. Very pleasant all the time. Enjoyed the free happy hour as well.
Cons: I think the only complaint I have is the price you pay for parking. In my opinion, it was way too much ($260.00 for a 4 night stay). I understand that there isn't a parking lot but come on...that's over pricing. You have a 12-story hotel...you can still make money on $20.00/car as opposed to $60.00/car.
