7,9 Good
Pros: Beautiful, well taken care of Resort. The staff was wonderful and never passed you without saying good morning, good afternoon or good evening. Loved having options for our evening meal besides a standard buffet (that got old after a month on Borneo). The pool was beautiful and they have the BEST beach chairs ever!
Cons: The property was beautiful, varied food and options to eat were great and staff was wonderful but for the money to stay there to rest and relax our last week of vacation, we were super disappointed that we had to “escape” the beautiful pool because of SO MANY screaming kids 24/7 (rude and obnoxious parents and we even saw someone washing out their dish in the pool!!!) Even the “adult” beach area there was kids running around and yelling. Not a peaceful spot if you want a quiet vacation and it stunk to not be able to use all the facilities we paid for.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The view was fantastic! And staff Chloe was really kind to arrange all activitiesnfor us! We really had good schedule thanks to her! Perfect small getaway from KK Highly recommend the mangrove kayaking Expereice with Justin! Really unforgettable
Cons: There was no buggy service from hotel. We booked nice view and the location was very high and had to hike up every time we went up. So we stayed down in the main area alot! But the view was still worth it
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, we saw monitor lizards right outside our room (they're much larger than I thought they'd be).
Cons: Food was ok but not fantastic, and pretty expensive, as was the mandatory boat ride.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We loved it! I went with an old friend and we had a perfect weekend. The service was fantastic, the resort was beautiful (and so was the beach), and there were just enough activities to keep us busy when we weren't reading by the pool. Looking forward to going back.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Nice location. Friendly but untrained staff. Excellent F&B team headed by Ramesh and the chef. They were delightful
Cons: Rooms not ready and check in time and the hotel handled it badly. Even when asked manager did not arrive ( inspite of being present ) to address the issue. Could do with better maintainence.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great Service, all the staff are attentive to details and friendly. The food tastes great and has a diverse selection to pick for, we had a good time in the restaurant.
Cons: Many mosquitoes, but the resort has provide healing blam and insect repeller for each room.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Kind staff and very quiet ambiance. All the facilities are very nice.
Cons: Nothing.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was pleasant. The staffs did room clean several times a day to keep towels enough and room clean, which was very helpful. Every staff we met was very kind and friendly. Especially, the staff at Horizon Club Lounge, Joanne was very sweet. She helped us to get the two rooms we reserved to be arranged near each other. Also, I loved the swimming pool and activities at Star Marina. Sunset is really beutiful.
Cons: Actually not much. Maybe the price? Everything is pretty expensive.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Well maintained room & nice restaurant
Cons: Too many ugly Koreans
7,0 Good
Pros: The facilities - water, pool, beach area was great with lots of activities around. Water safety was prioritized. Kids room was great, so was the gym. Breakfast buffet was great, even at peak hours the staff managed everything well. Location near the airport, ample parking space. Bath tub was a plus. Clean room and facilities all around. A fun and happening resort with lots of activities. Lots of Koreans around, seems to be targeting the foreign tourists from mainly Korea, and some from China and Hong Kong. Recommended for stay with families with young or older kids, a honeymoon, or just to relax. Good view of the sea, and don't forget to watch the sunset at the nearby Tanjung Aru beach.
Cons: Very strict with the check-in guests. High deposits to be paid upfront. Room design seems dated, and considering the price i paid, the room size isn't as big or as luxurious, and also the attention to service was lesser compared to other hotels of the same price range.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great for kids. There were a lot of activities to keep them busy. An I cream bar next to a waterslide, what more do you want in life?
Cons: Jellyfish season made the beach unswimable.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great facility and staffs
Cons: Lack of signs to show direction, poor food if you eat at the grill bar near the swimming pool.
4,0 Okay
Pros: Good location for seeing beautiful sunset Traditional building interior Nice and clean swimming pool
Cons: The worst five-star hotel I have ever stayed in. You must read these information below. First, a bell man who worked daytime had no will to offer services for customers. When I arrived this hotel from airport, he just stared at me and did nothing for me. So, I had to open the car door and unload my luggage on my own. It is terrible attitude for the forefront hotel staff. Second, most hotel staffs were inhospitable. When I went to the reception to ask something, I have been waited more than 10 minutes. Some staffs caught their eyes on me, however, they disregard me. Third, housekeepers were careless when doing their jobs. After making up room service, I found a cosmetic that I and my partner didn't bring in my room. In addition, I saw a Korean family wasn't able to check in after 4 o'clock due to delayed housekeeping.

8,8 Excellent
Pros: The location is stunning a white sandy beach with clear blue sea and coral reef at the edge of the jungle. Loads of flora and fauna to admire. The staff on the island are fantastic so friendly and helpful. A really nice place to get away from it all. Will hope to return one day.
Cons: Our check in experience could have been better. We arrived at our agreed arrival time to be informed that we had missed the free boat transfer for the day and would have to pay for the next one two hours later or pay for a private boat.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The Resort is located in the most beautiful bay surrounded by primary rain forest, absolutely stunning! We are so glad we chose this over the other resorts on the island, the location and view is unbeatable!! Each room is in an own cottage hidden in the forest. Very friendly and helpful staff! The vegetables and fish are all organic and from the resort’s own farms. The resort is also plastic free, which is really great :)
Cons: There are only two complimentary boat transfers per day, at other times you have to pay the transfer. However there is an office from the hotel at the boat terminal at Kota Kinabalu where you can easily leave the luggage and explore the city.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff could not have made more effort to make our stay extra special! It was our first wedding anniversary and the team incorporated lots of little touches into our stay which made it even more special. The whole team we’re friendly helpful and so accommodating the entire time. We returned again with our families for a day trip because we loved it so much, and I would highly recommend to anyone.
Cons: There is literally nothing to say here. Everything was wonderful.
7,1 Good
Pros: The stuff is so frindly

Cons: Breakfast variety poor, attention to details in rooms for toiletries replenishments, spa was ok level, duluxe with 2 single beds for family is below standard for a luxury hotel... should upgrade to 2 double beds for family comfort, towels ran out twice in the pool area - needs better planning, kids water area can be improved further.

8,0 Excellent
Pros: Lots of different pools and you can you can use the Pacific hotel facilties
Cons: The breakfast was nice but all the warm food is cold because they are not heating the bain Marie. Also they need some management of the sun lounges to stop people leaving towels/clothes on them all day when not using them
9,0 Excellent

Cons: 2 of 4 elevators not functioning but didn’t have to wait too long though
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great place. Comfortable. Grat staff. Swimming pool and fitness. Many restaurants nearby.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Location. Near to Philipino market, Centre Point & seafood restaurant. Good hospitality from the staffs.
Cons: 1. The price/rate is much higher compare to Le Meridien KL or Putrajaya. 2. The menu for breakfast was boring ( same menu everyday, no variety ). The menu in Le Meridien KL or Putrajaya are way much better. 3. I had problem with the iron in the room. Need to change twice during the stay. Suggest to provide a better quality iron (not Pyliss) .
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location near town
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The staff are always very hospitable and they make us feel very welcome with the beautiful smiles and cheerful greetings. Thank you
Cons: The entry drive into the hotel seems to be partially blocked by parked cars most times on our arrival. This has been mentioned to the staff who are aware of the problem but are unable to prevent this happening as they have no jurisdiction to do so.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Staff and management extremely helpful, and made the stay a real treat. Whilst the pool area was being renovated, an offer to use a sister hotels facilities was provided without hesitation - really appreciated.
Cons: Rooms are a bit tired and need a refresh. Limited light in the room, made reading in the evening near impossible.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good. Location was good. View is the best!
6,5 Good
Cons: I wanted to change my itinerary and bring my hotel stay a day forward, from the 21st to the 20th. I offerred to pay the difference in rate if any. Hotel staff told me they cannot do that for me as booking was made via a third party. It was actually made via a fourth party as Kayak outsorced it to getaroom.com. The actual helpline indicated in the booking email (469-675-5368) was possibly run by a fifth party. They were utterly unhelpful with my request to change the booking date by a day, even though I did offer to pay any difference in price. Rigidly cited some sort of policy. I went back to the hotel staff in person and tey also continued to refuse to help. The consequence was that I had to book another hotel for the 20th, did not stay at Le Meridien on the 21st and my money was wasted. I will not be booking via Getaroom ever again and I will be avoiding Le Meridien.

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. For a surcharge, guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle (available 24 hours) and a ferry terminal shuttle.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I went with my family and booked 2 rooms. Sutera Sanctuary Lodges exceeded my expectations! First off - the rooms are much bigger than I expected (especially the bathrooms!) and are very beautiful and perfectly clean. The beds are very comfortable and the AC is strong. We stayed in the beachside villas and really loved our rooms. Secondly - Sutera Sanctuary employs some of the friendliest staff I've ever encountered. We received great service from the moment we stepped foot on the island to when they sent us off on the boat. Adamz, the hotel manager, personally greeted the guests and gave us a very entertaining tour of the facilities (including meeting Gerry, the giant monitor lizard!). He also made time to chat with us before checking out. The other hotel staff always helped us with big smiles. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and I would love to return. The restaurant also exceeded my expectations. Being on an island, I had very low expectations for food options and taste. But there were lots of both local and Western options and I thought the food was all pretty tasty. The price will be a bit higher, of course, but still within reason.
Cons: Note that a lot of daytrippers come to this island from 9:30 am - 4 pm, so there will be lots of people during the day. Other reviews mentioned a lot of trash, but I didn't notice it. I thought the beach and water were clean. After 4 pm, the island is all yours. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet in the evening and early morning.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful island. Hillside villas are very nice and comfortable. Super friendly and helpful staff and management. Suitable for families. Logistics and everything else well-organized. Jungle trekking to sunset point was a great experience (after sunset you can walk back the paved easy jogging trail). Snorkelling is nice and fun but not top notch.
Cons: Too many day tourists but in the morning and late afternoon it’s quiet. Connected to that is the littering problem, there is simply too much waste around the beach and in the water. In less than ten minutes my son and I collected a plastic bag full of waste.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Overall is good
Cons: The restaurant services.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the stay. Clean, comfy n accommodating staffs. The beach was clean & lovely view of the sea. Restaurant food was good, and staffs were helpful as well.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location! Has to be as it is the only resort on Manukan Island. Special thanks to Alicia who explained everything very clearly to us on our arrival. She gave a good overview of the resort, what all can we do while we are on the island and answered all our queries patiently. In fact, all the hotel staff was very helpful, they coordinated the ferry back to Kota Kinnabalu and made sure we have a great experience. We stayed in Beach Villa and one could easily see beach from the room. Lovely experience, would love to come back again!
Cons: Hardly anything. Just carry your insect repellant. Nothing to do with property, the island has a lot of mosquitoes generally.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff of this resort are extremely friendly and courteous. I don’t usually participate in surveys, but I have made an exception due to the efficiency and unbelievable friendliness of the entire staff. I intend to return to this place again!
Cons: Nothing!

Pros: I left straight away after not even an hour. They have no understanding at all, that a solo travelling girl is not going to stay alone with just men at an entire floor. Never felt so unsave in a place!
Cons: I had a booking for a bed in a mixed dorm, the female dorm was already booked. After the check in I was sentto my room at the 4th floor. There were just two rooms without any numbers. I was confused. In both rooms were just men sleeping. In the one room (which was supposed to be mine) were maybe 6 men, two were awake, staring at me, made me feel uncomfortable. There was no luggage in the room, I think these people were not traveller's, had the feeling they're living there. The mattress was dirty and the sheets didn't smell well. Went to the other room, because I thought I accidentally went to the men dorm. In the other dorm was the same, one man was sleeping on the floor. I told the lady from the reception I didn't feel safe, and asked her, where the other girls are. She said the female dorm is full, I have to stay in this room and there are no other girls, because they don't want to stay there. I really didn't feel comfortable. She called the manager, who said it's safe to stay in the room. There are cameras and the lady at the reception will watch me. There are no cameras in the room, just at the floor. . They didn't understand that I did not feel safe alone with just men at a floor. They offered me to stay at the reception, but I could not get my money back. Unfortunately they charged the money from my credit card, while I booked. I left after half an hour and couldn't get my money back, even though I I'd not stay. I know, that I booked a mix dorm, but it turned out to be just a men's dorm and they didn't inform me. I am really very disappointed. At the reception, they have information about bedbugs, seems like there's a problem with that. I went to another accomodation, in the middle of the night.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staffs, great location, a lot of promotion on eco tourism which i love. Lobby area was a great hang out place
Cons: Wow, the beds were squeaky. Slept on an upper bunk and I felt so sorry for every move i made i could be heard by the whole room, and felt by my lower bunk mate.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Toilet and shower are separated and clean, you have a space to dry your clothes, they offer a nice area where to chill and the hostel is well located. The staff was friendly and helpful. If they could provide towels included in the price that would be perfect.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Everything! The best thing about this hostel is that they keep the windows open all the time and there's a nice breeze flowing through the common area, an open and relaxing vibe and comfortable couches to relax on. Good place to chill and meet people. They even have a selection of DvDs. The staff is so friendly and down to earth. The location is absolutely perfect. Central, walking distance to everything, and right above the Fri/sat night market which is phenomenal. Lockers and towels available for a deposit. WiFi good and strong, even on the second floor. Simple breakfast of toast and papaya. Will stay every time I'm in KK!
Cons: The only reason this isn't a perfect 10 is because my bed sank in a little bit in the middle so maybe the mattresses need updating. But this didn't take away from my experience.

Pros: Amazing pool and great breakfast buffet. Poolside bar staff are very friendly. Oppulent hotel perfect for golfers.
Cons: Didn't think the dinner buffet was good value and it didn't have the 'Fiesta' vibe. We booked a twin room and received an upgrade to a suite but there weren't two beds. Not a locatio n for those who prefer to walk to destinations. Located on a busy highway meaning you need to either shuttle or taxi to everything.

Hyatt Regency Kinabalu is a 14 story highrise in the heart of Kota Kinabalu city overlooking the island-studded South China Sea. Features a 5 story atrium lobby in the heart of of the business, shopping and entertainment district.
7,0 Good
Pros: Hotel that is central and within walking distance to the various eating places, the weekend market and shopping centres which is not new but acceptable. The breakfast buffet downstairs in the restaurant was good, had a good range of international as well as local cuisine and it does get very busy but that could also be associated with the month that we were there (December).
Cons: The club lounge certainly need a make over badly and you need to re-orientate the outlook of your lounges to face the sea rather than a wall and TV which was not and we certainly did not want to watch TV when we had such beautiful views over the water.
8,2 Excellent
Pros: Great front desk and concierge services. They were all very pleasant and helpful. The beds are meticulously made, clean and comfy
Cons: The room is comfortable and clean but needs to be updated. Eg the kettle & coffee making facilities were hidden in a drawer instead of out in the open for guests to see. If the staff didn't tell me about it, I wouldn't have known. The pool is also not great.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Good location for our needs, friendly staff, nice room.
Cons: No real negatives
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service was given by the hotel. Can't think of a better location with markets, malls and Jesselton Point nearby. Really amazing views of the ocean and islands in the distance. Enjoyed the stay.
Cons: The room was slightly dated, but still very well kept. The air-con was not as effective as we would have liked to keep room cool during the middle of the day.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Locations
Cons: Aircond control not functioning

7,9 Good
Pros: Beautiful, well taken care of Resort.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, comfortable bed, friendly staff, it does have a pool which is rare for the area, and the free breakfast has plenty of options for all taste. The gym is also very nice.
Cons: The pool is nice, but only has 4 lounge chairs, so once they are taken you're out of luck. Plus when the kids show up in the evening, they rule the place.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Location of hotel is very good
Cons: Breakfast menu was almost the same everyday.
3,0 Mediocre
Pros: Absolutely nothing. Location is not convenient at all with terrible staff attitude. Definitely one of my worst experience ever.
Cons: Horrible customer service. Gave me a room without electricity. Maintenance guy never turn up to fix it and the receptionists are annoyed when I request for a different room. They expect me to stay in the dark and continue to wait for maintenance personnel.
5,4 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Doesn’t meet a four star standard
7,0 Good
Pros: The location is right next to the famous Gaya street and within a short walk distance to the Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal and other parts of the city. The room itself is quite old but has everything needed, which wouldn't be a problem at all unless you are looking for a fancy 5-star experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. I went for a day trip to the nearby islands after check-out, but the staff generously offered me to use the swimming pool facility upon my return to pick up my luggage, which was very helpful for someone who needs a quick shower to refresh himself before heading to the airport.
Cons: The hotel in general is old and outdated, but clearly it was one of the best in town in the past. The facilities in the room have a lot of scratches on the surface. Some people might find it unpleasant, but function wise they all did their job.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Berakfast was not good
Cons: Food is not good
