The pickup and drop-off were both easy. There was damage to the vehicle, however, that had not been documented. The gas tank was also slightly less than full (noticeably so) but the gauge read full when I returned it but I was charged for refueling for some inexplicable reason. I had to call and have that charge removed but I won't rent from Avis again in the near future based on these experiences.Reviewed Jun 11 2026

They did not have the vehicle class I reserved at the time of pickup. They charged me for the e-toll premium service and did not offer the standard toll option even when I asked about the high price. And finally, the vehicle was provided with less fuel AND returned with a full tank, but despite that the receipt reflected that the vehicle was returned short on gas and I had to pay a fuel fee. I was able to get them to agree to refund me the fuel fee, but only after calling them and providing photos, which I had thankfully taken. Plug-in hybrid was left at zero charge and 3/4 of a tank which made it difficult to refill exactly to 3/4 again. The drop-off process was extremely frustrating with no signage at the drop-off address and no help from the attendant I eventually found walking around. I ended up driving around for 30 minutes trying to find the right spot to drop it off and almost missed my connecting ferry.Reviewed Oct 16 2025

Vehicle provided was very big yet had no room for luggage in the rear. We could only fit two bags and the rest had to be stored with passengers making it very uncomfortable. The cost was way too high but we had to pay it as no family vans were availableReviewed Jul 22 2025
