Pros: I stay here often, my favourite hotel in Sydney
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The bathroom
Cons: No balcony, no view, very small room
8,3 Excellent
Pros: very neat and fairly large rooms. the park view is beautiful.
Cons: initially we were in a 'park view' room which did not face the park at all. you have to crane your neck out of the window to see the park. this should not be sold as park view. staff were happy to move us to a front facing room with beautiful view.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location is very convenient as it is located right across the road from St James Station. The breakfast varieties are exception and staff are more than just friendly. The thing I loved the most about the room was the silk like bedsheets. I visited the gym as well and it has all of the basic equipment. I wanted to visit the pool area as well but unfortunately I ran out of time as I had other things to attend to
Cons: The ONLY thing I had trouble with (which is very very minor) is that when I had the intention of going to the gym, I didn't realise that the 2 furthest elevators are the only ones that have access to that area. There was a sign next to the elevator buttons but it was my own lack of observation that confused me for a few short minutes.

4,0 Okay
Pros: Location & breakfast are very good.
Cons: We arrived early & were hoping for an early check-in (which we had requested when we booked). This wasn't possible, fine, but the room wasn't even ready by 3pm! Experience luxury accommodation at its best in one of our 369 Sydney hotel rooms and suites reflecting a contemporary style and featuring breathtaking Sydney skyline views.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I struggled with the best location to serve as home base in Sydney and the Swissôtel was perfect to hit all the top attractions while also being close to a train stop from the airport. Additionally, it was an easy walk to other neighborhoods like Surrey Hills and close to a Big Bus stop.
Cons: The only thing i can think that wasn’t stellar was the tv station selection in the room. That’s hardly a reason to select any hotel- just a way to wind down before bed. The pros far outweigh this one con :)
9,0 Excellent
Cons: Check in took forever - super slow.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Proximity to The Rocks, Opera House, Botanical Gardens, Hyde Park, Railway Stations, Darling Harbour, Cafes, Supermarket. Excellent service from great staff!
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The bed is absolutely comfortable, the linen is a happy feel and the hotel is very convenient & central to everything. Thank You
Cons: The keys was not activated, so off we went down to asked the receptionist to make it work for us. Then we have to call the service personnel to give us a power as we don’t have any lights.
7,0 Good
Pros: Neat, clean and tidy. Location right at the heart of the city. Great.
Cons: Breakfast very expensive for the selection on hand. Was cold - not good at all. Was charged twice within (48) hours for the room. When I rang they said it is customery to do this then a credit comes off. That was on Monday - checked today (Thursday) got the credit as stated, however charged (2) more times - now I have to still chase and check what's going on. Why can't people do their jobs properly - should be done right the first time without following up. Won't be back since this has happened.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Really nice Rooms. Good value for money. Location is good.
Cons: Better sign out the front of hotel
10,0 Excellent
Pros: room, the staff, and the location were all great

7,9 Good
Pros: It was convenient so close to Circular Quay
Cons: The bathroom was very tired the grouting around the bath was really grubby and the tiles were chipped. Also we left a pair of expensive running shoes in the room. We wrote to the hotel to ask if they were found, as we had a friend nearby that could collect them for us, but received no response!
9,0 Excellent
Cons: Need to look at sustainability, plastic cups, cutlery and straws used and just thrown away Many sustainable products now available.
7,0 Good
Cons: forgot my room wether include breakfast, tried to call reception 3 times, first 2 times no answer, third time they picked up the phone for 10 seconds, didn't answer my question then hanged up'

Pros: Accessibility to the venue we needed to be at the following day. Also the ease of connecting to the city.
Cons: Nothing.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, as I was going to the Opera House. Will defintely stay there again
8,2 Excellent
Pros: We love the location and the beautiful rooftop pool. We were also given a different room when a jackhammer was being used on the street outside our window late at night.
Cons: Other hotels haven't made us wait to check in if rooms were available before 3pm. We also didn't get a complimentary breakfast like we expected because we booked through a third party website.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: We are regular guests to this property previously as Holiday Inn. We love the location and value for money.
Cons: Some staff appeared to be settling in to the new Management - a little unfriendly and definitely not our usual receptionists.

8,0 Excellent
Pros: The service was great my mother got a surprise Happy Birthday dessert for free and we got a free upgrade.
Cons: Tea selection in the room was dismal as well as milk amount. For a 5 star hotel it was shocking. Most people like to have a cuppa in their room. I have also seen other customers mentioned this.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff, and breakfast.
Cons: The lack of bedside reading lamps reading lamps was disappointing.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful, genuinely friendly staff. Nice neighborhood. Immaculate room.
Cons: The only downside was that my room did not have a view. The restaurant, though pricey, was consistently good.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very professional helpful staff Allowed us to check in at 8am and upgrade to a suite for just £35 altogether (we stayed 3 nights so this worked out very cheap) Nice bar and pool area Clean rooms, spacious Felt very secure with 24 hour security
Cons: Pool was often in the shade however this can’t be helped and very close to the city and darling harbour and short ride from beach!
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Great location, in my opinion much better than Circular Quay or Darling Harbour as this spot is very central, easy walk long distance or train / metro ride away from the key spots. Our room was much larger than the usual and it good value for money relative to most other equivalent hotels.
Cons: We specifically chose this hotel because it had an outdoor pool. Looks great in the photos but was rather disappointing. There were no umbrellas, staff said this was because of the breeze up on the roof. I can understand that however there’s no excuse for not having shade cloths instead, this is Australia after all. The seating we also thought was quite poor. Overall it just felt unwelcoming and almost as if it was an afterthought. Pool was important to us, we were expats visiting family and just wanted a few days at the end of the trip to relax - no sightseeing etc. I would also note there are a couple of large construction sides adjacent to the hotel, these were very noisy whilst up at the bar / pool. I haven’t marked the hotel down for this, as it’s outside of their control, but it did add to the disappointment for the pool / bar area.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Buster at the door was a legend. So friendly, helpful and efficient. Hotel location was convenient - close to food, shopping and transport. Lobby Bar and reception area are quite beautiful - the history of the building is very interesting and the décor that has been restored is lovely.
Cons: The bed wasn't comfortable for me. No view - the atrium area could be 'greened up' and decorated. Is such an eye sore - so stark and bare. Disappointed that I had to request a change of towels and that the room wasn't serviced during our stay.
6,0 Good
Pros: The building was beautiful and it was interesting to read about the restoration project (see https://www.indesignlive.com/projects/primus-hotel). The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the location in central Sydney is great and very close to public transport. The Museum station is the best stop to/from the airport and the Town Hall station is also very close. The air-conditioning was great especially when temperatures outside reached 40 degrees. We recommend Macchiato's restaurant just down the road for their wood-fired pizza and live jazz.
Cons: Staff were mostly very helpful. We asked for extra bedding because of my arthritis (the bed was extremely firm), but then some of this was removed (presumably by the room service team) just before our last night so I had an uncomfortable final night. The cleanliness of the bathroom/toilet was not so great; a bit disappointing for a five star hotel. Overall I expected just a little more for the price.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. The room was spacious. The bathroom so fabulous.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
1,0 Poor
Pros: Vintage lobby and great use of a nearly 100 year old building
Cons: Pool and Rooftop bar closed from Friday till Monday for private events. No selection at the breakfast bar
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location is perfect, a block from transit, tons of shopping and excellent Asian food. Unlike similarly priced hotels, the Primus has a ton of character, thanks to its very sensitive adaptive reuse of a very stylish 1939 government office building.
Cons: My only (very minor) complaint was that the fancy lighting automation in the room was a little touchy, and a couple of lamps wouldn't shut off entirety on their own ” I had to switch them off at the wall outlet. Otherwise, I had an outstanding stay!
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were spacious.
Cons: Overall I had a pleasant stay, however this hotel is not really a five star hotel especially when comparing other to other five star hotels like the shangri La, park Hyatt, or even the Marriott downtown. There just a difference in how personalized theyare

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Nice hotel in a good location for a fair price
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was spacious & clean. The room had a coffee machine & a mini fridge which were replenished daily if used. There was also an iron & ironing board & a hairdryer. The concierge was lovely & tried his best to help me get whole meal bread with my breakfast.
Cons: There was no bath just a walk-in shower. Even though there was room for a wardrobe there wasn’t one just a hanging rail. The air condition unit made a hell of a racket & we had to turn it to very low of a night so as it didn’t keep us awake. Some of the staff were unhelpful & a bit rude when we arrived. There was no hotel dining area/restaurant & as we had paid for breakfast with our room we had to use the adjacent eatery which the hotel paid for residents to use. There was no continental breakfast on the menu which meant I was stuck for choice of bread due to having a stomach health issue. They weren’t for helping me to have a healthy breakfast when asked by myself & the hotel. Eventually after 3 days of having to eat something that disagreed with me another member of staff at the eatery managed to get them to provide whole meal bread!
8,8 Excellent
Pros: This property is in a great spot and within walking space of many bars and restaurants. The rooms are quiet and clean and in wonderful condition. Comfortable bed and the huge bath towels were a bonus.
Cons: While adequate, the bathroom is small and lacks space to put your things.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Modern, spacious, well positioned very comfortable. Enjoyed every minute of our stay
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Staffs were very kind. They offered me late check out by even 3 hours when they knew i had a few hours left until my flight departed on check out day.
Cons: Hotel was under restoring so it was a bit messy but not in the room and the renovation is expected to be completed by end of september
6,3 Good
Pros: Very comfortable bed and clean room. Location great.
Cons: Were given upgrade but styling had bathroom separated by only frosted glass. Weird layout. No privacy. Room service was complicated by outside providers who were not open when scheduled. Ended up just heading out as it was frustrating trying to order in,
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the staff. I stayed in the balcony suite, which was gorgeous and spacious. The balcony was massive and overlooked the city, and could see the harbour bridge. There were fresh flowers and complimentary wine.
Cons: Make sure you push the door closed because I accidentally left the door ajar when I went out for breakfast. It doesn’t latch on it’s own
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The property was great value for money in a convenient location.
Cons: It could of had a pool or spa

Pros: Decoration was nice. Espresso Martini was passable, depending on who made it. Bed was comfortable
Cons: Being woken up to replenish the minibar. restaurant doesn't cater for non planet based guests. Nothing was organised for guests over Christmas. When it asked at the desk they said ask at the Restaurant.

Pros: Great building & lovely staff
Cons: There was a blood stain

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The place is so... beautiful. Yes, we had a very good time.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It was a good location, walking distance to the CBD, nearby restaurants and a Woolworths Metro just around the corner. A number of bars nearby for a quick drink. Nice little restaurant with good food. Rooms were clean and spacious with a nice view of the city.
Cons: The breakfast options were limited and had to wait for staff to bring coffee around, there was no option to help yourself to a hot beverage.
7,0 Good
Pros: The size of the room; the buffet breakfast with the possibility of making your own pancakes; bathroom toiletries; room service (meals); the view from the room of the hotel; the courtesy of the staff and of the cleaning ladies.
Cons: The location was fairly close to the city center but not in an excellent neighborhood; the restaurant serving dinners was really just average. Although we had put up the "cleaning room" sign on the doorknob they forgot to clean our room - luckily we got fresh towels at least. The bathroom tub and faucets were too old, as so was the rest of the bathroom - need to be renovated to keep up with the 4 stars
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The location is incredible! There are many restaurants near by and it is close to many attractions of the city. The room was really clean and in perfect conditions.
Cons: In order to have a better view of the city in the room, it was necessary to pay an extra amount per day, which was not mentioned when we booked the hotel.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing view, decent size room
Cons: Not the best customer service from concierge section. The hotel needs modernising
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Close to CBD and Kings Cross
Cons: Nothing
6,0 Good
Cons: The bathroom did not maintained well.
7,1 Good
Pros: Most people were nice. Room service was good.
Cons: Our problem was our room. The door would not always unlock which meant going down stairs each time. Also the bathroom light wouldn’t stay on, we were told to jiggle it just right. They finally fixed it after multiple complaints on our last day. The big problem was that the man in the suit kept saying, “you have to understand it’s an old hotel. It’s not our fault.” I expected an apology and the matter resolved.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet great variety. Easy check in and out. King room very spacious and comfortable. Was in town for a wedding so didn't dine in restaurants.
Cons: Underground parking is a maze, need more specific signage to enclosed lifts and for guest parking. A number of car spaces are reserved. Yellow stain on one of the bed pillows

Pros: we got a view of the harbour and that was lovely to wake up to
Cons: They held $500 because we didn't have a credit card the bathroom was not what we expected

6,7 Good
Pros: The location was good, not the best but not far away from centrum. WiFi was good. Good showers
Cons: Bad restroom and 70% of the other residents are French. Not their fault but it gets annoying
7,0 Good
Pros: Location was excellent to make your way to the best tourist spots in the city. Free breakfast is always a plus. The staff all were exceptional. The historic building is an absolutely beautiful piece of architecture.
Cons: There was no general gathering points on the property. Most hostels I've stayed in were some what geared toward having people meet eachother simply by design, such as a tv room with games and things to encourage interaction. There was a room with a tv (I was told broken) so everyone just got drunk in the street which works until someone gets ran over. Also, the general condition of the building is pretty rough. Half painted walls, taped off bathrooms, and some of the toilet stalls had broken locks, and room lockers. I woke up from the feel of sweat rolling down my face because the fan was sub par, and loud. Simply spray it with some WD-40 to speed the blade rotation and reduce the sound from friction.
1,0 Poor
Pros: No. springs were sticking into me all night most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in. where were the crousants
Cons: Everything Even charge straight away when I thought I cud cancel but they already charged and no refunds available.

Pros: The location is great. The bed is comfortable enough.
Cons: The toilets were often out of order.
