Pros: Very friendly and helpful despite our late arrival. Very helpful with suggestions for where to get food. Many places a short walk away. Lovely room and bathroom with really comfy beds. Spotlessly clean. Delicious breakfast, cooked for you, not a buffet. Made an early flight much more relaxing. Quick transfer to airport. Looked after car well, always kept on the premises. Carmel and Clive are wonderful hosts.
Cons: Nothing.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: I really enjoyed my stay in Cumberland House. Breakfast was great and the staff was kind and helpful. The room was confortable and the bed was absolutely comfy. I had a long travel next day and I slept very well.
7,9 Good
Pros: Very smooth booking communication and also transfer service from Gatwick which arrived speedily and you can dial from the public phones at bus stop number 8. Nice location within a maximum 10 minute drive from Gatwick. Good communication throughout. There is a Wetherspoons pub for food and Waitrose for shopping within 10 minute easy level walk. They were incredibly welcoming and the rooms were comfortable. There is a small outside area. Be aware there is no lift but staff helped with our cases.
Cons: This is not a criticism as such but the cooked breakfast was HUGE and defeated 2 out of 3 of us! It was a little overwhelming and I would have been happier with just 2 rashers of bacon, 1 egg, 1 sausage etc and felt very guilty about the waste. Tip to others, maybe ask for a smaller portion to avoid wastage if you don't have a gargantuan appetite. Also ... sorry ... toilet was not flushed when I arrived in my room. Soon sorted, but just a note.

8,8 Excellent
Pros: Although our taxi driver had a few problems to find the correct location of the hotel, we were pleasantly surprised to find everything as pictured on the website. All rooms and especially the lounge were very tastefully decorated and radiated calm and peacefulness. We (3 couples) were made to feel very comfortable from the first to the last minute. The bedrooms were well appointed with lots of attention to detail. In spite of the smallness (4 rooms) Margarita made sure that we got a 5-star service including being able to enjoy a night cap late in the evening and an excellent breakfast. Highly recommendable.

Pros: The Cleanliness of the accommodation was excellent as was the comfort of the room. There was a wide selection of food for breakfast. You could have either a continental type or a cooked breakfast both with ample choice. Also large selection of drink with fruit juices along with tea or coffee. The B and B was a short walk into the town of Horsley, convenient for an evening meal, a large Waitrose Supermarket and a train station into London. It is also only a ten minute drive to Gatwick Airport
Cons: We felt that it was a shame that the owners found it necessary to charge us £3 for parking the car overnight.

4,0 Okay
Pros: they kindly allowed me to store my bags between check-out and my late afternoon flight. the bathroom was very clean. lovely house.
Cons: •WIFI: the wifi internet was super slow, and then shut down entirely. unacceptable in a developed country. •DIRTY: there was a old fan in the room that turned on, but didn't blow any air. the wiring around the fan was entirely coated in dust. disgusting. it clearly had not been cleaned in months, which shows a lack of attention to detail. •CHECKOUT: checkout is at 10am. considering people have afternoon flights, would it really kill them to allow guest to checkout at 11am or noon? i never heard of a 10am checkout at such a small guest house. •ODD: the owner quoted a 7 pound taxi to the airport but it was 8. i don't care about the money, but this again shows a lack of attention to detail considering they must send several people to the airport daily. not knowing the price of such a core part of the stay seems strange.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant service Spotless property Excellent location
Cons: Beds little hard
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location for the airport, The room was really well appointed, clean and spacious. Close to a couple of pubs and a petrol station to fill up the rental car before returning it to the airport. Breakfast was great and the host was helpful and friendly.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic host very convenient and I can’t wait to stay again
Cons: Nothing all good
6,3 Good
Pros: The only great thing about this Place is the location. Very near to Gatwick airport and walking distance to nearby town to grab a late night snack.
Cons: The owner charged us 4pound for 2towels eventhough we booked for a 4pax room. They only provided 2towels and ask us to pay for another 2towels with the reason; people sometime book the 4bed room for 2pax only. What kind of nonsense. The internet cannot be used at all. We request for a shuttle service for an early flight and already agreeed with 12pound at the reception. The next dayf a lady driver come to pick up us (not a taxi, obviously owner family members which we dont have probs with) but she suddenly said it cost us 15pound or she wont sent us. So we agreed to 15pound and when we paid the money, she give incorrect balance purposely assuming we dont know the how to read the pennys. We ask for the correct balance and she was reluctant saying the balance is already correct. She even drops us far from the drop area at the airport saying she dont want to wait for the line. (We have a lot of bags and with baby). My advise is to get the taxi from the airport as it only cost you 11pound on non peak time and 12pound on peak time.

Pros: Good location, very comfortable room and bed was amazing
Cons: Nothing
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Staff were nice and very helpful. The location just as wanted. My only issue is that I absolutely hate polycoton sheets (that is bedding that is not 100% cotton). I do not like the feeling and polycoton makes me swet a lot. So unfortunately I did not sleep well, which was unfortunate, as the whole point of going the night before our flight was to get a good long night sleep before flying. Other than that, all was fine.
Cons: Polycoton sheets

8,3 Excellent
Pros: The setting and the staff were excellent
Cons: Booked dinner for four three meal were ok one was poor.A dessert was offered as recompense immediately on complaint which was good.
6,3 Good
Pros: large hand wash pump rather than single use soap bars
Cons: very slow check out - so many receptionist mouse clicks! scrambled eggs very slow to get from kitchen to buffet - but at leat they were hot and perfectly sloppy lack of restaurant staff at the lunchtime and at the following morning breakfast - they were confused with which lunch menu to give out single use plastic milk portions pots
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The meal options were very limited for a vegan diet - but we didn't specifically request this option in advance. The food we had was well cooked with good portion sizes; choice of wines available was appreciated. Didn't have time to explore the grounds properly, but the views across rolling countryside were great. A good large area too for children to run around. We didn't notice the noise from the airport after a few minutes and the windows were open throughout our 2 night stay. Good bedroom and shower room - newly done?
Cons: More vegan/vegetarian options on the usual menus.
7,5 Good
Pros: Friendly staff. Clean and good size rooms
Cons: Breakfast was ok, but could be better for the price you pay to stay

Pros: Location was great! We stayed only one night to rest between flights since we were traveling back to the US. I was pleasantly surprised at the proximity to the airport! We walked right over from the north terminal! We ate a very nice dinner at the restaurant there called “Le Brassiere” (I believe that’s the name) and had a great bottle of wine with our dinner.

8,3 Excellent
Pros: We had a meal on the first evening of our stay which was very good and the garden at the back of the pub was a nice place to cool down. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the rooms had interesting design touches. Perhaps a little more attention to functionality would be good (eg the sockets for chargers or other electrical devices where hidden in an awkward position right under a bedside shelf). A pleasant stay for two nights.

Pros: Not a lot I’m afraid Would never come back and would not recommend any of this hotel group to any of our friends
Cons: A great deal.. Very ugly room with no style.and clinical... disappointing considering it was one of the best Food... very average on the whole No proper room service at night.. just sandwiches No proper mini bar No vibe... very dull with no atmosphere Felt like a glorified Premier inn with a spa attached Breakfast very average... frozen berries.. not fresh Furniture outside very cheap and uncomfortable No proper areas to relax.. except on a few plastic loungers outside the spa area Should have an outside swimming pool
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was superb, beautiful spa and the food was incredible. We loved walking around the grounds and all the staff were really friendly. We would definitely stay here again, and eat at the restaurants again.
Cons: The generator came on during the night at around 5:30am and woke us up and we could not get back to sleep, which is a shame as we came to relax. We let reception know at check-out but we did not want to make a fuss. It would be better to be informed that there will be noise to ensure we could bring ear-plugs for example.,

Pros: The room was spacious and well appointed.
Cons: The restaurant was not well organised. Some staff seemed to have difficulty taking meal orders correctly and acting on them. Portions were small. The price of breakfast was far too high. Once the automatic service charge was added the price of the accommodation was too high.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed our stay, attended family wedding. Thank you.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The charming gardens and building, dining was amazing special thanks to Feras the waiter for his delightful service he is a credit to Langshott Manor
Cons: A tad understaffed as there were functions
7,9 Good
Pros: Beautiful historic hotel! I felt like we had gone back in time to Hobbits. Clean and modern rooms, quite and comfortable
Cons: Breakfast staff were woefully inadequate. Not enough people + dissatisfied guests = disappointing experience! (Not to mention expensive breakfast options). So if you don't need breakfast, its the perfect hotel or business stop-over.
5,8 Okay
Pros: Bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very nice
Cons: Paid for the most expensive room which was right on the entrance road so when anyone walked or drove past on the stoney road it was extremely noisey in the room. Service was extremely slow and for the price of drinks i really did expect to be looked after a bit better.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Relaxing ambience for breakfast and enjoying the gardens. Room fittings needed some attention. Good menus
Cons: Fresh towels on day two as still damp. A bar would have been more useful than having to wait for a waiter to find us.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Truly one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. The staff is extremely kind and professional, and my room was magniificently decorated. The bathtub was even big enough for me, and at 6'3 that's rare to find. The surrounding neighborhood is quiet, and the hotel grounds are gorgeous and well kept. I hope to have a chance to stay again someday for more than a one night visit.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The room and bathroom was a great size and even though the weather wasn't up to.scratch the little patio area was a nice touch, the staff were very good and overall enjoyable stay, the journey down however was not great but cannot blame the hotel for that.
Cons: The overall room was good value however with having the luxury suite I would expect more than one packet of biscuits for a couple and a better quality television. You could also hear a lot of planes
7,1 Good
Pros: Beautiful building and lovely comfy clean rooms with everything
Cons: The restaurant menu and pricing and service is quite surreal. Totally out of keeping with the place. Really poor.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel luxury
Cons: Food very expensive
9,2 Excellent
Pros: A warm welcome and quick check in when we arrived after a family wedding at 11pm. Comfy bed with good quality bed linen and toiletries. Would stay longer next time.

Cons: The rooms were tiny bathroom felt prison style. Shower sprayed the toilet and entirety of the bathroom.
4,0 Okay
Pros: The location was very convenient.
Cons: I thought we had booked a hotel room rather than a berth. There was literally room for the bed and a side table and no room to move about. My husband actually had to crawl over me to get up to go to the toilet at night. I wouldn''t have booked hd I known.

6,3 Good
Pros: The location It’s fantastic if you’re flying south terminal and Easy location even for North terminal only 2 mins by Train.. staff were very Understanding about my daughter-in-law claustrophobia and moved to a room with a window...
Cons: The room was very very small and very dark And dingy. My daughter-in-law was claustrophobic the second She walked in... The corridors were extremely narrow and all the rooms seem or felt like that was on top of each other.
4,0 Okay
Pros: The staff was very responsive to our concerns.
Cons: The room was absolutely tiny, there was no hot water in the first room we tried, the soap was extremely pungent, the shower sprays the entire bathroom so you have to use a towel to dry everything after every shower, the heating/ac is poor.
7,5 Good
Pros: conveniently located, staff very kind, clean, quiet
Cons: they offer toothpaste and toothbrush for emergency accomodation. I wish they would also sell (not offer) something to wear for the night (like a t-shirt) for people that are stranded at the airport, because nobody else does that in the terminal. The bathroom gets all wet with the shower and if go to the toilet in the night after a shower you get all wet.
7,9 Good
Pros: Cleanliness and location.
Cons: Double bed is blocked by walls on 3 sides (making it difficult for my partner to get out of bed).
8,1 Excellent
Pros: I missed my flight because the electric power was down and I was trapped in a train for three hours. Wonderful to get a room . I had to fly the next day.it

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Easy to find a within a short bus journey to the airport.
6,7 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: The dining room after waiting 10 minutes to be served at the please wait to be seated sign I had to enter the restaurant to ask if I was going to be acknowledged they said there weren’t any tables available even though the restaurant was empty they said they were reserved after sitting in the bar to eat a substandard meal the dining room remained empty very rude staff unpleasant meal and 4 pound each way on the coutersy bus to the airport I thought coutersy meant free
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were good size, bed comfy. Restaurant food was great.
Cons: Nothing I can think of.
6,7 Good
Pros: Liked the location well placed for airport. Rooms clean and fresh the staff were friendly and helpful.. Easy check in ample parking and the shuttle (payable) was frequent.
Cons: Was bit disappointed with the restaurant, limited menu and the portion sizes were to big for my personal taste, maybe they could offer small plates like a lot of hotels / restaurants do now. But the food we had was fine, hot and cooked.
7,1 Good
Pros: nice room - I specified a newly refurbed one
Cons: the restaurant and bar obviously has way too many covers for the kitchen to cope with - loads of people (ins. us) were waiting a very long time for food to the point of just cancelling an hour later and getting their money back. The food that did actually arrive with us was very nice though.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and modern room.
Cons: Tried calling front desk once to get another towel and later for a wake up call. They never answered the phone.
7,5 Good
Pros: Easy check in nice breakfast choices
Cons: Hard pillows
7,5 Good
Pros: V close to airport. Convenient
Cons: Lifts were very annoying and made me wait a long while
6,7 Good
Pros: Nice staff and a clean comfortable room.
Cons: No mini fridge or microwave. No free breakfast. The vending machine wasn’t working. The restaurant charged a fortune for food that was obviously prepackaged. The cod I had was supposed to be “beer battered”. It was obviously frozen and deep fried to heat it up. The batter was a dark brown. The mushy peas had about 6 peas, in a green slime. The chips were good, as was the Sauvignon Blanc. For the numbers of people going through that restaurant, they could certainly upscale the menu, and actually provide a decent meal at those prices. The wait staff were courteous, and hospitable. But nothing can make up for such an awful menu, and food. I travelled through Scotland and the UK, and this was the worst restaurant I encountered. It certainly wasn’t up to the standard expected of a Holiday Inn. Oh, and the shuttle cost £4, and the pick up area is quite a hike from the North Terminal. The next morning when catching my flight to Canada, I was able to get a cab, right to the main entrance of the terminal for one £ more than the shuttle. Money well spent!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Had a great start to our holiday great sleep
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel employees were particularly helpful. We needed to receive some packages, and store some luggage: they helped everything go smoothly! Thanks again!

Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Having a bath x
7,1 Good
Pros: Bunnies hopping around in the courtyard! Staff were friendly and professional. Wide variety of foods available in Continental breakfast (you pay extra for the full English breakfast). It's a safe, relatively inexpensive, overnight stay for someone catching a plane the next morning.
Cons: There was a "poopy" odor emanating from the bathroom. It did not subside during our stay. The television remote did not work. "Operator Error" on my part, but I thought I was booking the Premier Inn that's right next to the airport; it turns out "S. Gatwick" refers to location, not adjacency to South Terminal. Not a big deal, but there is a Premier Inn closer to the airport if that's what you're looking for. It was a 13 pound taxi ride to the airport (the hotel also offers shuttle service).
7,5 Good
Pros: Cleanliness very helpful staff
Cons: Nothing
7,5 Good
Pros: Clean and comfortable
Cons: Long way from Gatwick south terminal. Communicating room door unlocked and open meaning I felt insecure as travelling alone for first time.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the meal I had in the restaurant.
Cons: It was difficult to find this Premier and the speed bumps are very rough on the car.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: As usual good standard of the premier inns. Staff friendly and room larger than I expected.
Cons: My fault as I came into north terminal and this hotel is nearer the south. Shuttle bus that should have been available wasn't so I had to get the local bus. Taxi in the morning because it was really early.

Pros: Good value for money
Cons: Time restrictions for check in

Pros: The room was clean and comfortable and was perfect
Cons: No fault of the Masslink but the noise from the building next door kept me awake ...slamming of car doors constantly all through the night
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly owners and great value for money. A taxi ride is included in the price.

Cons: Shared bathroom - but can't complain at the price.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very good b and b near to Gatwick airport, very comfortable night stay, very nice and helpful owners
Cons: Nothing not to like
6,0 Good
Pros: Reasonable walking distance to town.
Cons: Notices about no responsibility. Safety not good. Screws sticking up in bathroom. No hand rails for getting in and out of bath for shower. They would be responsible for injury.
7,9 Good
Pros: Value for money and location to airport
Cons: A hand towel, as well as a bath towel, would-be useful
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Well located, clean and convenient - excellent value for money. Despite the fact that we didn’t interact with the hosts in person as we arrived after check in had closed, the communication via booking.com and the notes they left meant everything was seamless in terms of entry and then the transfer to the airport in the morning. Complimentary taxi to the airport was a big factor in our booking. Tea and coffee facilities in the room which were helpful for the early start.
Cons: Nothing. It’s dated in terms of decor so some guests may not like that, same with the shared bathrooms. But that’s all advertised and you can’t complain for the price.
3,8 Mediocre
Pros: Parking facilities
Cons: The noise was just too much even with the window closed. Fan should have been offered Stale/damp odour in the room which is not ideal for someone with asthma or breathing problems The floor in the shared bathroom was very wet. Mould in the ceiling with is health and safety hazard Very unfriendly reception. Just hand you the key without showing where the bathrooms are. As there was no signs I was knocking at door just to use the bathroom. No one available to ask question.
