Pros: What a great place! Everything was perfect! The breakfast was delicious and the room was clean and comfortable. Erick was a great host. He pointed out all the things to see (unfortunately we only had 1 day in Brussels) and some great places to eat. We especially loved the wonderful cats. They were mellow and friendly. They were one of the highlights of our trip!

Pros:
Cons: This is a room in a 2 bedroom apartment (not a B&B!). The room with a bath has a shower beside the bed and you walk down a hall, through a door into the owner’s area of the apartment to use his toilet (not a bathroom in the room!). Owner is controlling and is at work most of the time so there is no one to help you. The apartment is far from all tourist sites. There is black mold on the bedroom walls.

Pros: The hospitality of personnel and breakfast were exemplary. The room was clean, but older. The meeting room on the upper level are very ok for meeting purposes.
Cons: The rooms I was staying at for the last two meetings unfortunately would need to be renewed. I like the bathroom some old-fashioned style, but the mobiliar and entry door do not meet the price expectations compared to other bigger towns, where the prices are also as high. Just unjustified. Compared to what you will expect from the hotel, the price needs to be readjusted to the 90-120€, resp.max. 130€ with breakfast included. Sorry for this review. It's a pity for what this beautiful hotel indeed could be, especially at this location. Please invest to not just keep it going !

Pros: Location was excellent for the purpose.
Cons: Paint pealing off the ceiling is not nice, but it is acceptable... However, the room smelled terribly. Like a shoe box that was not opened for 5 years or so. It did not match with the quality you would expect from a Crown Plaza hotel.

Pros: The room is big for the price we paid. The bar downstairs was nice and the bartenders were friendly and even made us specialty drinks that weren't on the menu
Cons: We got to the room late in the evening, the receptionist gave us our room key. When we got to our room, our key didn't work. This happens sometimes so we weren't too upset. I came back downstairs and told another guy at the desk that we had just arrived and that our key didn't work. He fixed it and apologized, we headed to our room. When we opened the door, a woman shot up out of bed and asked "who's there". I felt terrible. Tried to apologize quickly as I spun out the door. I went back down to the desk and the people working had figured out what happened because the lady I walked in on called the front before we got down. They gave a voucher for 1 free glass of wine or beer and gave us the new key and apologized once more. When I turned to walk away, I realized that the same room that we just interrupted that woman in was still written on the key holder card. I turned and told him "this the same room we just came from". He said "oh, oh, I'm sorry." And gave me the right number. But he almost sent us back to the wrong room a third time. All kinds of other things went wrong while we were there. Loud construction RIGHT outside our window at 6am every morning. We were told we would get a five dollar voucher for the bar for every morning we didn't get our room cleaned and we never got it. 4 days in a row, we didn't want our room cleaned. We didn't care about the voucher, but when we went to the desk to ask for an extra bottle of water for our room (which comes with a free bottle of still water and sparkling every morning if you get it cleaned) the desk attendant said we couldn't have free water if our room hadn't been serviced. But when I mentioned that we never received our vouchers, there was some reason we couldn't get that either. I was so frustrated from no sleep from the construction and all the other issues (many of them too small of importance but also too many to list) that I stopped listening to their reasoning. I had decided that I'll never stay at this hotel again. Which is unfortunate because I had stayed there one night last time I was in Belgium. I didn't have much interaction with the staff as it was another late night. I just needed a bed for the evening. My only complaint was the location was kind of inconvenient but after this experience, i realized the problems are far worse than the location

Cons: Not much negative to say. The location is a bit of a hike from the tourist hotspots like the Grand Place. It's close to the Botanique metro station which was convenient but it would have been nicer to have a quicker walk to the city center instead. If you do walk to the city center from the hotel, make sure to walk through the gardens and then down Rue Neuve - it's much nicer than walking between all of the business buildings.

Pros: Spotlessly clean and great location. Comfortable room.
Cons: It is a good hotel and has a great location. It was really surprising, though, to find a note in the toilet saying that the soap was the hotel's property and if you wanted to use it you had to go to reception and pay 15 euros. Therefore, no soap was available unless you wanted to pay 15 euros. Very unfortunate for a hotel like that. That detail did spoil my stay.

Pros: The hotel was OK, but the room was really small.. the location was not bad, close to metro station botanique, the staff was super helpful and wifi and breakfast were super good for Brussels! The only thing I didn’t like was the price, i think it was little bit higher than it should be for the location that is not central..

Pros:
Cons: It really depends on which staff member is there how your experience will be. Upon arrival we had a terrible experience with a staff member who claimed that we did not pay (while I could show him all the booking and payement conformations) and demanded that we pay again with cash. We refused, got the room with many threats that we had to fix it the next day. The next day however there fortunately was a different staff member that had it sorted in a few minutes and was very apologizing snd helpfull. He made all the difference because the overall experience (also hygiene) was not good. The room had a good seize and the location is also good.

The location was very good with shops, restaurants and public transportation right by the door. A not very long walk from the north train station. The hotel reception staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: We had paid for a superior large room and the room we were given was very cramped. The furnishings and the finish of the room were not of a good standard for a superior room except for the bed. The door handle on the bathroom door was broken, the hairdryer did not work and the curtains on the window were coming off their track and draped on the floor. There was no full-length mirror and no tissues in the bathroom and nowhere to put your own toiletries. No cup in the toothbrush holder. The safe did not work as someone had locked it when they left. Initially the wifi kept dropping out but this seemed to be fixed later during our stay.

Pros: Excellent location, next to bus stop and Rogier metro and few meters away from shopping center. The breakfast was a great plus and value for money although there were queues at the coffee machine.

Pros: The price was acceptable, but the hotel is currently under renovation, so it was a bit confusing to find it if you're new to Brussels. For a short business stay, it was quiet and comfortable.
Cons: The breakfast is a bit overpriced for what is offered, and the rooms could use some attention to repairs. In my room, the two bedside wall lamps were both beginning to come away from the wall, which seems a bit dangerous.

Pros: All excellent just the rooms were a little small .
Cons: One went to have a drink in the bar and it was closed to a private party. And we choose this hotel as we like a night cap at night .

Pros: Great location near Brussels Noord station from which you can travel to other cities. Good breakfast at the neighbor hotel.
Cons: Rooms are worse than it is shown at the picture s. It's tiny and the view from the window is terrible. And you can hear everything from the neighbor rooms and even from other floors (like sounds of toilet flash). You can hear conversations from other rooms. In my opinion it's too expensive.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Nice quiet room, and very nice staff.
Cons: Breakfast buffet is too crowded even at 7am! With so many people milling around it makes you feel dizzy and not the best start to a day. If the space can be somehow restructured with more open space it will work better.

Pros: Des Colonies is my first choice for staying for work in Brussels due to the close proximity to the workplace and have reviewed the hotel 2-3 times already. It goes under renovation these days, what is not particularly disturbing while you are staying there. This time I have got a renovated, spacious twin room. Cons: Unfortunately it seems the hotel accommodate large groups time by time. This time there were 20-30 teenagers likely on a school trip, and to whom were allocated rooms each floors in the hotel. Sleeping is quite challenging when teens having PJ parties on the floor / in the next room until 2 am...not even earplug helps since the walls are very thin in some of the rooms (it would have been a good idea to add soundproofing at the same time with the renovation). The reception were quite helpful - they called the room in question to ask them to keep it down but still...in the morning I heard other guests to mention the noise. There is no hairdryer in the room, not even in the renovated ones - you need to ask the reception to provide one.

Pros: Room was clean, located fairly well
Cons: no sink in bathroom or room had to use shower to wash hands, access to kitchen was locked up like everything else, the B&B seemed like a halfway house and didnt feel particularly secure while there

Pros: nothing
Cons: the hotel was closed when arrived, lots of problems gaining access, unhelpful staff

Pros: Good location.
Cons: Placed on 6th floor where wifi extremely poor, no lifts, had to carry luggage to top floor, reception staff utterly clueless when asked about anything and sets a very bad first impression. Bathroom not so great after 6 people had been through it.

Cons: There was no air conditioning and no breeze. It was quite hot. We did try opening the window, but then you have to contend with the city noise.

Cons: No elevator can be a problem for some travelers .

Pros:
Cons: A desk would have been nice in the room. For instance instead of the fridge. There was no daily cleaning/tea refilling.

Pros:
Cons: It was a bit cold in the room (window couldn't be closed firmly).

Pros: Friendly staff, nice breakfast. Beds are confortable.
Cons: The horrid smell in the corridors and rooms. The neighborhood is a disaster. The ventilation and breakfast area are very noisy.

Cons: The room seemed small even for a single stay. The hotel lacked elevator and you had to carry your heavy luggage using narrow stairs.

Pros: Well it was a roof over my head and there was a shower. Also, breakfast was quite good.
Cons: I think the whole place is under renovation but I was placed in the most bizarre of rooms - for some reason it had two doors and one of them didn't lock, so in theory anyone could enter the room at any time with zero problems. Both windows were RIGHT NEXT to a huge wall so there was ZERO natural light inside. It was just weird - the hosts didn't say anything or warn me beforehand so I guess they know this but just hope no one makes a hassle. I kind of felt like being part of a hidden camera TV show, it was just very odd! The room has ZERO semblance to what you see in the photos when booking!
