Portland hotels near Portlandia

Cons: I did not like the bathroom sliding door. To slide it open is heavy and unsafe when it is open. Almost walked into the mirror. It is beautiful though.

Cons: The only thing I would say is that you should try to get a room that doesn't face the road where Denny's is...the trolley/tramcar thing runs all night and is loud.

Cons: Facility is due for renovations - they start next month.

Cons: The entire facility needs upgrading. As I walked into the lobby and down the halls it was shabby. The rooms however, were better than the common areas.

Cons: Upfront, transparent pricing! When I read what the rate was and then the caveat “plus applicable taxes and fees,” there was no indication of what the amount would be or how it was calculated. I was completely astonished when “the fees were $42.00. The room ended up costing more than other rooms I could’ve reserved if I had known a more accurate online price.

Cons: The wifi only last 30 minutes unless you pay extra.

Cons: No issues. The parking at $25/day is high.

Cons: Loudest hotel ever!! Paper thin walls and a room by the elevator = Not a lot of sleep. $14 parking is ridiculous! Especially after paying for the overpriced room... The cleaning crew started cleaning rooms at 9am. So much for respecting their guest.. We've stayed at a handful of Red Lion hotels and this one is by far the WORST!! Save yourself some money and aggravation and book the Quality Inn across the street!

Cons: Very close to tram line which was loud all night

Cons: It felt like the Tower of Terror, staff was rude when checking us in, room felt gross and was ridiculously small and crammed in a corner. The lady at the front desk quoted us an insanely high price, and when I said cheaper was available online she said “well I guess you should book that then.” When to check in 5 minutes later and felt like she deliberately gave us the worst room furthest from the elevator on the lowest floor. They were also under construction which I didn’t realize till I was in the room and there was a piece of paper informing me. Amenities were a joke. Regret booking this place when there were a dozen better options in the same area.

Cons: I really just wanted to get some sleep. There was a lot of street noise, even in the middle of the night. Who knew Portland was so loud?

Cons: It is not that I didn't like it but there was no steam exhaust fan in the shower. But heck, small detail!!! Sort of stiff parking however...$33 before my valet tip. Was for 24 hours however.

Cons: Just two things: The love seat and chairs in my room looked a little old, not in bad shape or anything, just old. The bathroom light was a little dim.

Cons: The hotel is dated. The look can be charming. But I don't think that chipped paint, old and over-exposed grout, faded/worn carpets, tough mattresses are part of the decor. Maybe other rooms in the hotel have been updated, but my room was not. I also faced a very load street/area so I would recommend asking for an updated room (if they have any), and for a room in a quiet location.

Cons: Flowers were a little pass their time and bathroom needed a little work. Lightning in the bathroom was poor and a magnificent mirror would have been helpful .

Cons: Room was a bit dark, could definitely use more lighting or more powerful light bulbs.

Cons: Staff unhelpful. Reservation was cancelled when it shouldn't have been. Small beds and rooms. Bathrooms just okay. expensive for what you get.

Cons: My room (1212) was quite small, especially the bathroom. Because I wanted a single large bed and the hotel was pretty full, I think maybe I had that oddball room that most older hotels have that are squeezed into a non-regular space. In this case, it also happened to be near housekeeping, which was noisy in the morning with carts being banged around. The room was fine but smaller than one might expect. The bathroom was ok for me but would have been an issue for someone who spends more time getting ready. There was not even enough room to stand squarely in front of the tiny sink because a bookcase/shelving unit was put on the wall right in the area in front of sink. I had to shave at an odd angle, off to the side of the sink.

Cons: The bathroom didn't have enough hooks/pegs to hang towels or clothes. There was one hook on the back of the door, but no hook for a hand towel at the sink or near the shower for a bath towel.

Cons: The fitness center was disappointing in size and equipment available. It reminded me of fitness centers in 2 & 3 star hotels. On line it said there was a coffee/shop and bakery at the hotel and there were none. Online it also implies there was a spa but there was not. The front desk clerk said they could call someone off site to come to our room. One tiny window in the room. Paid approx $350 a night. Way too expensive for what it was.

Cons: If there was anythInfo@VertebrataChiropractic.com I had a problem with, it was that once waited for 15 minutes for my car and when I asked about it, the valet had forgotten about it. He immediately remedied the situation and had the car in 90 seconds, but it would have been nice to have gotten it when it was first asked for. A small oversight, and overall does not take from my five star rating for this property.

Cons: I don't know that we will stay at Modera for the price paid, again. Not a knock it is a gorgeous and friendly hotel. Great for a first visit.

Cons: Hotel Modera continues to only offer valet parking. That's good because there is very little street parking; however, it's not good when the service is overpriced and the valets don't help with getting luggage in/out of the car. In fact, there's no offering to help in any way other than to hand you the valet ticket/keys. The lobby doors are not automatic, so while the valets stand around, you are convenienced to put down your bags, open the door, prop it open with your foot while you grab your bags and make a dash through. We haven't had this problem in the past, but the HVAC in our room was not heating, just blowing cool air. Turning the unit off resulted in the windows whistling due to the negative pressure in the room. The mini fridge stocked with overpriced drinks was also not working. So our room was cold and noisy, and the fridge was warm and quiet. The front desk staff offered to send someone up right away, but since my wife was still asleep and we were checking out in several hours, I declined, but the staff was very sympathetic. The bathroom in our king room was VERY close to the bed, and the sliding door didn't make it much of a 'privy'. I try to keep up with the latest building materials, so maybe the plastic tub liner that shifts up and down under your feet while taking a shower is new and fancy. I don't think we'll be installing one in our home. The hotel's bar/restaurant is unremarkable in all ways and does not stand up to the other great food and drink options in downtown or the east side. Overall, I think we are done with this hotel considering there are so many other options in the area that are better walking distance to good food and drinks.

Cons: Once you get out of the lobby, the floors felt a bit dingy like they needed new carpets. The decor in the hallways felt a bit dated. Nothing particularly bad but just didn't feel quite polished. For the price I expected better.

Cons: Only complaint about Modera is that it's at the mega-junction of Portland's light rail, trolley and bus lines, so during the daytime (including VERY early in the morning) the street noise is pretty significant. The rooms are well insulated, so it's not deafening, but you can definitely hear it.

Cons: A bit pricey for Portland but it was awesome, I'd definitely stay there again.

Cons: The main negative comment I have is that their elevator is rickety and loud. I guess because we checked in at night, we got stuck with the room next to the elevator and you really can hear it every time it goes up and down. Luckily, we were just so exhausted from our daytime activities, we didn't have the energy to complain. Also, the housekeeping staff was a little intimidating. At around 4pm, we went back to our hotel room to freshen up and noticed that our room had still not been made. No big deal. We saw the housekeeping staff in the hallway and decided to tell them they can skip our room, but we wanted an extra towel and a new garbage bag. When we asked them, the staff member demanded my hotel room number in a harsh tone and when I told her, she then shouted to her co worker in another language some verbiage while pointing at us. They had a conversation, that sounded like an argument to me, for a few minutes while we were standing there waiting for the OK to skip our room and give us a towel. Mind you, they were standing right next to the towel cart conversing in their language while I was standing there confused.
