Portland hotels near Rogue Distillery and Public House

Pros: They were super accommodating. The staff was excellent and cater to our every need. The Red Star Tavern had food that was out of this world.

Pros: This is my favourite hotel in downtown Portland. I love the decor and sense of comfort. I love the lobby and lounge and love that dogs are permitted to stay, Staff very friendly. Fantastic location.

Cons: The bathroom plumbing could be improved. Took almost 60 seconds for hot water tap sink to get warm up. Very poor shower pressure and difficulty getting the right tap temperature.

Pros: Staff was incredible!

Pros: We had te BEST stay! It's so lovely to ave such a nice hotel allow pets! This is our favorite spot, every time we come to portland we stay here.

Pros: Everything about this hotel was fantastic. The super soft towels and the excellent comfortable bed and the blackout drapes and the delicious room service and the super friendly staff and the groovy Decour of the room and THIS HOTEL KILLS IT!

Pros: The lobby had a fireplace going, music snacks and drinks that were very welcoming upon arrival.

Cons: The location was great for downtown walking however we brought a vehicle and the was limited parking aside from $45 valet. Maybe some people are used to this but I was not expecting it.

Pros: The afternoon wine in the beautiful room withvthe stringed instruments playing; the comfortable bed, the beauty of the whole interior; the food at the Red Tavern; Henry, Jonathon, Emilia, Scott, Antonio, and Andrew. The parking valet, the room service! Dog friendly!

Pros: I love everything about this hotel: downtown location near all MAX lines, charming and quirky decor, friendly staff, large rooms, comfortable beds, and the fantastic wine hour and morning coffee bar. Hands down our favorite hotel in Portland!

Cons: I'm always annoyed by the $27 "amenity fee" which they added after IHG bought the Kimpton chain-- but that's the way it goes. Also, the service in Red Star Tavern, the onsite restaurant, can be painfully slow. (The food is good though!)

Pros: I thought the location was great. The staff was very professional and accommodating. The room was very clean and cozy.

Cons: We were on the 5th floor right behind the elevator and what sounded like we were sleeing directly underneath the restaurant kitchen. We didn’t sleep and we could hear every thing happening upstairs for hrs. It was never ending and so noisy.

Pros: This is an older hotel that has been modernized and they did a great job. Rooms have nice touches like no-fog center of the bathroom mirror, built-in charging cords for various iPhone and Android phones, and comfy beds. Very friendly staff.

Cons: Parking access is awkward with a very steep ramp off a one-way street.

Cons: It was right above the light rail , which ran every few minutes, room was lovely but I was up all night (w earplugs) staff said I should've requested room in quiet section of hotel..but no one suggested that option when I checkefd in!!

Cons: Valet staff was not the nicest. Charging for parking in a hotel that costs this much is ridiculous. The rooms (2queen bed) are tiny. Finding additional street parking was difficult.

Cons: Someone's underwear left on the floor, hair in the sink, and refrigerator didn't work. Bed was very good and the room overall looked nice.as long as you didn't look to close.

Cons: No microwave when needed, refrigerator was not cold enough, only valet parking was available yet pricey per night, no general free or courtesy validated parking during stay. But there’s street parking as an option by the hotel. It was the only option, but expect to pay weekdays and Saturdays, except on Sundays when it’s free.

Cons: The hotel charged $234 dollars to my account by accident. I'm still awaiting reimbursement from them. Still waiting for a callback from the manager as well. The rooms are located so close to the train that it was hard to sleep. It was SO loud!

Pros: Accomodating staff that gave us a huge room and brought up an extra bed for our fourth party member. We were expecting to sleep on camping pads on the floor for the extra guest, but Sentinel was happy to provide a comfortable temporary bed.

Pros: Terrific staff starting with the car valet service and continuing with front desk staff. We needed a minor repair to one of the windows in our room and the maintenance person came immediately and made the fix quickly. We also liked the bartending team at Jackknife, the in-hotel bar. We didn't eat any meals at the Sentinal, but there are lots and lots on dining choices in the neighborhood including Bistro Agnes, one of the best French bistros in town!

Pros: There is everything in one place from a bar/slash club, to an amazing wine/champagne bar, a steak house a coffee house, each room is unique, I love the vibe, and is close to everything that matters in Portland

Pros: The architecture of the building was simply beautiful. The valet parking was friendly and expedient. The bed was extremely comfortable, the extra sheets fresh and clean smelling. The towels were very thick. The hot water kettle and teas were a nice addition. There was a knock on the door for turn down service. The hallways were deeply carpeted and wide. We never heard hallway traffic noise. The white noise machine came in handy, for the Max below the window (five floors up) and for the very loud in-room, vibrating heating unit in the casement structure between the bedroom and parlor (which sounded off every 15 minutes). The location was good, close to Powells, Nordstrom, and other corporate shopping storefronts, as well as several very highly rated weekend brunch options. It could have been and even nicer stay had not Portland's most iconic food truck block, catty corner to the Sentinel, been removed to make way for a new 5 star hotel. The price was reasonable for PDX, given these amenities, but as you will read below, I feel it was overpriced given the actual 3-star experience due largely to poor maintenance and industrial design. I felt like the hotel was not focused on the user experience from the ergonomics point of view, and was not able to look at people as persons rather than average consumer groups. The devil is in the details and we will not stay with this hotel chain again...and it should not be rated with 4-stars.

Cons: There were so many little things that were not up to par with regard to the maintenance and creature comforts of the room that it became one big thing. Bathroom: -extremely small with a pedestal sink, no towel bars or hooks nearby and a thin mirror ledge shelf not big enough for a small overnight bag. -no exhaust fan, peeling wallpaper, and a shower curtain with a curling iron burn likely for being so close to the single outlet by the sink (close enough for the hair dryer to fall into the bathtub). -The toilet felt lower than standard for hotels and could be difficult for some to lower/raise themselves. -Low water pressure in the shower, the shower head itself and faucet of inferior quality, without alternating spray options. The water temperature was "child safe" and set to a lower level typical for hotels. Bedroom: -the floor-length mirror was on the back side of the bathroom door and inconvenient as it needed to remain open for ventilation and easy access. -curtains did not close completely, despite creative fabric folding, streaming in outside street lighting. High ceilings made it hard to fix. -no dresser for personal items, only built-in drawers in the dark closet which require one to squat or kneel to access. -luggage racks at foot of bed had dark metal frames, the exact color as the carpet, making it difficult to see and navigate in low light and caused banged knees. -one bedside table lamp was a pull-down chain style and the other a twist knob, requiring fiddling in the dark. Parlor: the light switch at the door turned on no lights, even with playing with the settings on the three lamps in the room causing fumbling in the dark to find the switches on the units Reception: No visual review of bill offered prior to customer signature. When asked, "What does the guest amenities fee include?" the response was, “it’s included in the total price,” rather than providing an explanation of what the fee covers.

Cons: Well they charge a resort fee. The hotel is hardly a resort. The resort fee apparently covers for wifi, water and coffeee. I felt sorry for the staff that had to justify it. The elevator was out of service during the time I checked in.

Cons: The room had horrible lighting as did the bathroom. The view out the lone window was super bad looking onto flat roof and into someone else’s window. I think they stick the booking.com reservations on one crappy floor.

Pros: Bar Staff extreamly friendly!

Cons: Walking around outside to go see the night life, people are sleeping on the side walks. I had to have my wife walk on the street side of me in order to keep her away. That is unconventional for me. I always stand between her and the traffic on the road. The smell outside the building wasn't great either!

Cons: We were disappointed in how old and old fashioned the shower and bathroom decor and user friendly was for the star level and reputation of this hotel and compared to past Kimpton's we've stayed at.

Pros: Everything was perfect. Favorite thing would have to be the pet accommodations. Being able to be right downtown and have a home for my pet.

Pros: The hotel was beautiful and in a great central location! The staff were all very welcoming, friendly and accommodating! We loved the daily wine tasting happy hour and enjoyed the food at the adjoining restaurant. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable! Will definitely come stay again on our next visit to Portland.

Cons: I kind of wanted a microwave. I had ordered room service from the lobby restaurant and didn't finish it in one sitting. I woke the next morning and wanted to heat it up.

Pros: Nice modern clean hotel with friendly staff in a great location.

Cons: Room was a little small as they are in most city center areas, but fine for a couple.

Pros: Excellent accommodations and location. Great bar and bartender.

Cons: Front desk staff was inattentive upon arrival, schmoozing with each other and ignoring me for a few minutes. Then, attendant neglected to inform me of a $10 credit at the restaurant, which I didn't get to use because I hadn't realized I'd been given a coupon in my key wallet until I checked out.

Cons: The staff was rude when I arrived. Put the incidental deposit on my credit card twice and I would have liked to know about the expensive parking charge that they had in advance.

Cons: It was very noisy! Also was not a 4.5 star hotel. Used the bar of soap in the shower, maid did not replace, just left the empty wrapper on the counter.

Cons: Extremely thin walls, basically a cheaply constructed hotel w an interior decorator. You could hear the neighbors entire conversations. The room was unacceptably dirty: bloody sheets and toilet seat.
