Pros: Absolutely love staying here. I have been twice and both times thoroughly enjoyed it. Great rooms, peaceful atmosphere and wonderful beds! Mark and Andrea are both very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is always a treat with everything being locally sourced. I highly recommend this B&B when visiting Cowes, in the Isle of Wight.

Pros: Everything
Cons: My room didn’t have a desk but that was never promised either
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Caledon Guest House is a beautiful house, tastefully furnished and quiet. There are many little touches throughout that make it an absolute pleasure of a place with space to bring your own food and eat if desired in the evening. The goodie baskets are the best and most varied I have ever seen and the Noble Isle toiletries are a lovely touch of class. The room temperatures have been carefully thought through and for the first time in a hotel or guest house, I could sleep in a room that was warm enough when awake and not over hot at night - an absolute treat and meant for a good night's sleep. A warm and friendly welcome from our hosts and plenty to make you feel at home. Breakfast has an excellent menu and you are only a few minutes walk from Cowes High Street and the ferry terminal and marinas. I will be back and I will bring the rest of the family next time too!

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The welcome was lovely, tasty breakfast that was plentiful, comfortable bed, very clean and very accommodating for our dogs, thank you.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely guest house, Ideal location for getting around the island. Short walk to the town, beach and pier where there are plenty of restaurants/bars. The walk back is up hill. Owners very helpful, nothing was too much trouble - small bar where we finished our evening off each night.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We liked the friendliness of the proprieter and the breakfast. Winston and Mabel the dogs were very friendly and enjoyed meeting our 4 legged companion, Freddie.
Cons: Hot water was along time coming through but nothing to really speak of.
6,3 Good
Pros: Owner was friendly and the breakfast was tasty. Room was a good size.
Cons: Dogs having free run of property when states in welcome book it would only be between 10am and 2pm. Dog ran and jumped up my partner soaking wet and muddy after a walk whilst he sat in the bar. Then at breakfast it was very awkward having one trying to jump up to get our toast and another trying to lick my partners knife. I had to ask for them to be removed from the room whilst we ate which was done straight away but it felt embarrassing having to ask. My partners jeans and t-shirt both ended up dirty due to the dogs. Decor needs some TLC, pictures on booking.com makes it look better than it is.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It was clean and cosy
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Best was the welcoming committee! Winston (chocolate lab), Mabel (mixed breed rescue puppy with a bit of terrier) and Spot (senior friendly cat). I lost my dog in February and miss her terribly. It was wonderful to be greeted by happy faces and wagging tails. I felt immediately at home. Grateful for a lovely ground floor single en suite with no stairs. First rate service at breakfast cooked to order, plus fruit, juice, cereal, yogurt, coffee and tea. Every bit of my stay was wonderful.
Cons: When I first arrived in Sandown, it seemed a greater distance from beach and bus stop than I anticipated. But I had been traveling all day and was tired. It actually was a very good location.
7,5 Good
Pros: Great for local amenities, good breakfasts & friendly host .
Cons: Property very dated and needs a total makeover. Double bedroom should be a single and ensuite very small. No wardrobe just a rail with coat hangers.

Pros: Lakeside room, and lakeside breakfast.
Cons: Requested twin beds, this was confirmed. We were still on the same bed. Not good for the one right next to the snoorer.
7,9 Good
Pros: I was very disappointed by the attitude of the reception lady when we arrived. The lady was very abrupt with me. You should not approach your customers who are paying very good money to stay at your hotel in this way. Also in our room there was a piece of paper with chewing gum stuck on it the cleaning lady made no attempt to clean it up. I’ve been here quite a few times but I don’t think I will be returning in the near future.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: staff were brilliant I wouldn't ask for better service especially when it came to dietary requirements, the staff cooked something for us that helped and didn't make us feel like it was an issue whatsoever. I would highly recommend and would stay again

Cons: Nothing
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Hot plate at the breakfast is great idea, and breakfast it self was also good. Lakeview was nice, suite room was roomy and good enough for 2 people.
Cons: Drainage in the shower room wasn't good and I believe somebody must have forgotten to clean it up. Spa was fully booked at the time when we arrived, and considering it was our primary objective to choose this hotel, they could have advised us to book the spa well in advance.

7,0 Good
Pros: Very good full English breakfast in basement dining room. Very convenient location with own car park at the rear. Price was reasonable especially for the quiet Garden Suite, bedroom & lounge both with TV, two easy chairs and small single bed in the lounge. Newly decorated, tasteful nice curtains.
Cons: No signage on car park, had to guess that it was for the hotel on arrival. Car park very untidy, remains of a bonfire obstructed two parking spaces, lots of old rusty paint tins and unloved garden/patio area outside the Garden Suite. Poor room preparation. Had to trace extension lead and plug in to get bedside lights working, same for lounge TV. No full length mirror or dressing table, very noisy fan in bathroom, dripping hot tap unless turned off very hard. Henry vacuum cleaner left in hall by bathroom door and another in corridor to breakfast room.

3,0 Mediocre
Pros: Breakfast was excellent.
Cons: The room was located to the front of the building, next to a night club. The noise from the night club kept us awake until the early hours of the morning. Pros: Yelf's hotel is in an excellent location, in the middle of the main shopping area of Ryde and a short walk to the sea front. The staff, at Reception, behind the bar and at breakfast, were all very friendly and efficient. The public areas were clean and quite welcoming and I enjoyed a drink at the bar in the evening. My room No. 21, was clean, comfortable and excellent value but a little dated.
Cons: I don't think anything can be done about it but the sound insulation around my room, room 21, wasn't good - I could hear quite a lot of noise coming from other rooms, I think particularly from upstairs.

Cons: No evening meals; no hairdryer; toilet difficult to flush; shower too small, and door didn’t close properly; cleaning staff very very keen to evict you from room before checking out time.
6,0 Good
Pros: Very clean and tidy, excellent breakfast, friendly staff
Cons: Very stuffy room as windows didn't open. Room was directly above the bar and very loud music on until gone 11pm, had to get changed and go downstairs to ask to turn down (even though only 3 teenager customers were in the bar).
4,0 Okay
Pros: Room was clean good to have cold water provided, staff friendly.
Cons: Shower too small to was hair and turn around without the door opening, the loo did not flush and the hairdryer not pat tested. The flex was wound round with insulating tape which was coming off causing some concern about safety as I dried my hair. Cold tap in bathroom did not run cold

Pros: Location idea for Obourne, the main reason for the visit but also ideal for visiting other places on the island. Breakfast set us up for the day.
Cons: Slightly dissappointed that there was no evening meal available, maybe my missunderstanding when booking, however the alternative suggested to us was ideal
