1,0 Poor
Pros: Leaving
Cons: The bed sagged in the middle, there was mold in the grout for the tile, the hallway to my room smelled musty, there was no refrigerator or microwave.
7,9 Good
Pros: The breakfast was really good. The car park was good too. The bed and bedding was also good.
Cons: The bedroom was a little dated and had a funny smell. Could do with a paint and update.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Location of hotel is excellent for my visit to Murrayfield. Hotel room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom is a bit tired and could do with an upgrade. Hotel was quiet and therefore evening meal was served in the cafe area rather than in the dining room. Breakfast was in the dining room and was good value for money.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The location (easy access on bus route to city center) and free parking were the best features.
Cons: Desk staff were always too busy. I was surprised that staff did not stop what they were doing to assist with the line. A housekeeping request was not fulfilled; had to flag down a housekeeping person for extra towels/bedding. Bathroom s/b cleaner.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Comfortable bed.
Cons: The shower hose detached the very first time I took a shower. Waited over an hour for room service. Additionally, the parking was limited with extremely tight spaces. And the rooms do not have an iron for clothes making you request them.

Cons: Although modernish, still loads old stuff in the room
9,1 Excellent
Pros: The people we spoke with were very friendly and helpful. We appreciated everyone's kindness and understanding on a mildly stressful travel day.
Cons: The late night room service menu was very limited, expensive, and we're not sure we got everything we ordered. We ordered 2 sandwiches and got what looked like 2 halves. They were supposed to come with crisps, but we didn't get those.
6,0 Good
Pros: It was right next to the zoo. It has a bar. There's a bus stop right in front of hotel to take you to city center.
Cons: We had two rooms; first had a wet area on floor so they moved us two doors down. Both rooms were handicapped accessible, which we did not need and being tall people, it actually it's not comfortable for us. The bed kept rolling away from the headboard.

Overview Reviews
We think you'll agree that our location is perfect, but we all know it's what's on the inside that really counts. Our welcoming 24hr bar is stocked with a great selection of Scottish beers and spirits, our fibre Wi-Fi is free and speedy, and we have a beautiful outdoor courtyard for relaxing with a tipple - when the inclement Scottish weather behaves itself. And with a room upgrade option available, you'll certainly enjoy plenty for your money at ibis Edinburgh Centre South Bridge.

Pros: Zoltan at reception was a star. The restaurant and bar team were efficient and friendly. Rooms were clean and well appointed. Looking forward to our next visit
5,7 Okay
Pros: I told them I am severely asthmatic. When I walked into the room I immediately smelled musty old rug that was cleaned at least dozens of times and exhausted its useful life a long time ago. I went back to the front desk and told them needed a different room for medical reasons and willing to pay more. The front desk person and the day manager told me that they did not have availability without any serious they said no without any consideration and force me to sleep in this room where I ended up wheezing all night. They also lied to me that all the rooms were renovated at the same time and were the same. And it turns out that there were at least a few rooms available.
Cons: The front desk staff should care about the wellbeing of their customers. Poorly trained and inconsiderate.

Pros: Location
Cons: Bedroom was irritating. Numerous lightbulbs flickered. There was a sewer smell in the room when we arrived. There was air leakage at our window which caused cold draughts all night and meant we heard everything going on in the service yard below which disturbed my sleep. Overlooking one of Edinburgh’s prettiest private garden squares, Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel consists of seven interconnected Georgian townhouses. Outside is where you’ll find the New Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that’s delightfully removed from the city’s tourist hubs. But it’s inside where things really get interesting. The newly renovated interior blends handsome woods, plush fabrics, and rich pops of color—and, yes, just a touch of tartan—to luxurious effect. Pros: Lovely building, fantastic breakfast. Great nights sleep
Cons: Was a long walk to our room
6,0 Good
Pros: Beautiful location, lovely building and gardens. Very helpful staff .
Cons: Cocktail bar was over run by screaming children from a wedding , took over an hour and half for room service but food was the worst I've ever had in a hotel . Staff very polite and helpful but wasn't an enjoyable stay . Found empty whiskey bottles and a vape from presuming previous guests under the bed which left us to believe room hadn't been properly cleaned . Came for a relaxing weekend but couldn't relax because it was so over ran but intoxicated wedding guests who's children basically turned the cocktail bar into a noisey soft play with children running and screaming. I feel there should be adult only areas such as a cocktail bar . Have stayed before this and really enjoyed our visit but this wasn't enjoyable and the television didn't work .

9,0 Excellent
Pros: Towel provided, soap dispenser in shower, good location but the on-site bar was a bit crowded and rowdy on Fri and Sat. Otherwise calm
Cons: First stay at a hostel so I didn't know what to expect. Had no disappointments. One change, it would be nice to have more hook in bathrooms for towels, toiletry bags, etc
7,0 Good
Pros: Great location, everything in walking distance! The shower in our twin room was nice, enough hot water and good pressure. (The bathroom itself was very old, no bath mats or toilet brush, annoying automatic lights switches off every 3 min.) Good enough for a weekend though, but seemes overrated, theres is lot to improve.
Cons: Our room wasnt very clean (or nice) and the hostel didnt seem safe. The keycards system is old and not working properly. Entering through the bar back door anyone could walk up to the rooms straight from the street, well..Very basic breakfast, def not worth £6. No juice or veggies, no proper coffee, plastic plates.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Spacious rooms with comfortable bed.
Cons: While the room was nice, clean and spacious, the room that i was in had a weird smell when you're in the toilet/shower. Each individual bed did not have its own light. Might be disruptive to others when trying to unpack.
8,0 Excellent
Cons: Only problem was the lack of wall sockets to charge my phone overnight

Pros: Clean, comfortable and convenient.
Cons: Extra this, extra that.....e.g. parking your car as a guest is an extra £15 per night, restaurant very expensive too. All quickly adds up to not-so-good-value....somewhat underwhelming. The Les Mis tune pops into my head: Charge 'em for the lice, extra for the mice Two percent for looking in the mirror twice Here a little slice, there a little cut Three percent for sleeping with the window shut......
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Airport Hotel. very convenient for early morning flight. Didn't eat breakfast as left very early. Room was good size and comfortable.
Cons: Could have been more tea, coffee, milk supplied. Think cold bottled water should be in every room and it wasn't in mine.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Good restaurant on site, coffee at all hours, shuttle bus to the airport, and best of all, an easy walk to the tram to downtown Edinburgh.
Cons: Well, a big sign mentions chair massage at the spa, but it turns out they have to bring someone from the airport to do this and it must be booked in advance. A bit of a disappointment after a long day in uncomfortable aircraft.

Pros: Room without window had plenty of lights to make up for no natural light, plus there was a fan to help cool the room down. Handy location for city centre without being noisy. Plenty of parking spaces, however costs £5 a day.
Cons: Bed might be a bit hard for some, boyfriend didn’t like it, I didn’t mind. Bar was very expensive, only had a couple of drinks before heading to a local cheaper bar.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Staff friendly Great Breakfast, plenty for of choice Location was fairly central
Cons: Public area ( stairs) had crisps on them when we arrived on Tuesday and we left Thursday morning and they were still there No plug for the bath , staff requested maintenance to get one and still waiting

Pros: Rear door entry to the hotel Staff were mostly friendly
Cons: Room was in a terrible position overlooking the main road The bed was Rock hard Carpet could do with a good clean,no toilet roll All lighting not working Reception stank from the nearby toilets Too far away from the centre of Edinburgh
3,8 Mediocre
Pros: It has a lovely ware running alongside it. I could walk back from the main princes street but it’s a good 20-30 min walk. The bathroom was clean and new with a good shower.
Cons: The hotel is more hostel standard than a three star hotel. I had to change rooms because in my first room the bed spread was dirty and the room overlooked the hotels overflowing rubbish skip & the windows were rotting. The manager changed my room but my new room smelt very damp. The hotel beds have very flat very cheap mattresses where you could feel the springs. In fact I could only really spend one night at this hotel. My window frame in my new room was full of mould (see photo). The hotel windows were pretty dirty throughout and this didn’t fill me with faith when it came to eating at the hotel. Overall it was bearable for one night but I would avoid this hotel chain based on the cleanliness & the poor cheap beds. It certainly wasn’t worth the room rate - but prices were particularly high the night I stayed because Scotland were playing France in the rugby and there was very poor availability throughout Edinburgh.
7,0 Good
Pros: have stayed here a number of times over the last year, you get what you pay for and more. the location is good, and there is parking avaiable, the rooms are good well equiped. the cleaning could be better. and i will come back and stay agian
9,4 Excellent
Pros: Couldn't fault the room really. Big, clean and comfortable.
Cons: Telly was too small to watch, and bed was a bit uncomfy - but not really a complaint, just an observation. For the money I didn't expect luxury

Pros: The staff were all very helpful and friendly and couldn't have been better. There was a good selection and choice for breakfast.
Cons: Single beds were really narrow and not very comfortable. Duvet on bed was too narrow to even cover the bed. Shower splashed all over and flooded bathroom floor. Jacuzzi was out of order for 2 of the 3 days we stayed. Cooked breakfast was luke warm. No guest information folder in room. It was over priced for the above reasons and was not the star rating it was supposed to be. The location was OK but a 20 minutes walk from Waverley railway station
4,0 Okay
Pros: The beds where uncomfortable and the pillows worse. It was noisy and the room was low standard. Holes in the furniture. Breakfast was good but the food was cold. Staff where friendly. Expected more from this hotel !! Car park was extortionate !! Won’t be recommending or returning to the Novotel
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Facilities were great, loved the jacuzzi and sauna.
Cons: Food was quite pricey in hotel, ended up ordering in.
4,0 Okay
Cons: Got started on by a homeless person outside hotel!!! And really horrible rude person who works in the hotel. Made us feel so awarked and she was horrible no customer service skills at all
8,2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great. No pool available but there was plenty of other ways to spend your time. The rooms were contemporary and chic. The staff were professional.! The bar was ‘funky’. The drinks were expensive - £9 for a glass of wine. You expect to pay over the odds on holiday - especially in a city. A great few days away.
Cons: Cannot fault anything.
10,0 Excellent
Cons: There was no A/C and it got a bit stuffy in the room, especially at night. The windows opened, but if its raining, it floods the room.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: location price of rooms
Cons: bar staff was not friendly/ hot tub water was to cold.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful experience. We were upgraded by the hotel and had a beautiful updated executive suite. The pool was beautiful. Breakfast was delicious. The staff were so nice.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: What was meant to be a single relaxing night away, turned into two nights as we enjoyed our time there so much. Ate in the restaurant on the second night and the meal and service was fantastic. Used the pool 3 times over the stay and was always clean. The changing room is tiny though so perhaps best to get changed in your room and come down in one of the robes provided. Very welcoming front of house staff and indeed all staff we came across were friendly and polite, including the people servicing the bedrooms in the morning. A really pleasant stay all round.
Cons: A lack of a bath, but was still a good shower, though the see through walls when steamy was a little disconcerting.
1,0 Poor

Pros: Pool was lovely, though hot tub was down for maintenance. Food was good and of good value. Staff were very nice. Let us keep our car in the parking after checkout so that we could walk to see the sights late into the afternoon.
Cons: No set down point. Had to park on street to check in, then go to the underground parking.

7,4 Good
Pros: Hilton are our Hotel Group of choice. I just thought this one to be overly expensive probably only justifying itself because of its proximity to the Old Town and the Royal Mile. The bedroom and bathroom were small and the rest of the hotel just felt like an apartment building. There was no real old-world warmth. As you would expect the staff were very friendly and helpful. My final gripe was that the parking was public and some distance away down a hill and some very steep steps. This,I concede however,is probably the case with most Edinburgh hotels.
Cons: The price and the lack of old-world charm.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location and rooms
Cons: .
10,0 Excellent
Pros: An amazing location in a magnificent city! Steps off the Royal Mile & convenient for all public transportation.
7,7 Good
Pros: Room very quiet. Lication to train station
Cons: Shower was dirty Bar staff over worked Desk lady was surley. Restaurant very expensive for quality of food
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The location is great for access to the Royal mile and you can get anywhere by walking or train quickly. It is also close to some great pubs and restaurants. The hotel is updated and the rooms are nice. There are no real views but you are downtown.
Cons: I think for international guests who fly in overnight an option for early checkin would be great even if it cost additional. We wanted to freshen up and had to use a restroom in the restaurant in the hotel which was not a great option.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were lovely location great, no car park but you can park in train station car park with 20% off bit of a walk though. Close to royal mile and amenities
Cons: Only downside was always a queue to check in or out as only 2 at desk
5,4 Okay
Pros: Good location
Cons: Bar prices changed depending on staff. Confusion at reception. Poor organisation regarding food, chief not supported by management
7,0 Good
Pros: The location was fine. The staff were courteous particularly in the bar and restaurant region. The methodology of using the lift to access one's room was somewhat cumbersome.
Cons: The breakfast hot food was tepid and not hot which was a shame. The staff were not very attentive in the breakfast room and needed to be asked for coffee which they should have asked one on arrival. The bed bases were not fixed to the headboard and therefore when one sat up the bed moved away from the headboard which was not satisfactory
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Room spacious and clean
Cons: Nothing negative to comment on
9,6 Excellent
Pros: We were only passing by, returning from a 14hours trip and continuing our trip home. It was perfect....a nice, super comfy bed, lovely clean room and excellent shower. Staff was very nice too. We arrived at 9.30am and our room was ready, what a bonus. Quick check in or out.

Pros: Overall experience was excellent. Staff were very polite, friendly and professional. Room was of a high standard.
Cons: N/A
4,0 Okay
Pros: The refurbished room on the 4th floor was spacious, clean and nicely appointed - aiming for a modern twist on the 1920s and must be said succeeding
Cons: It is an expensive to stay in building site. Most annoyingly was checking in at 3.40 and being sent to a room that was still being cleaned. Front desk should have foresight to deal with this in way befitting a 4* hotel. I almost felt I was in the wrong.

Pros: Everything other than the small bed. The front desk even let us check in early and were very accommodating. It's an awesome place if you get a reasonable sized bed.
Cons: The bed was tiny for two people. Somewhere between a twin size and a double size. Definitely not very sleep-able for people used to a king or a king or queen sized bed. To the hotel's credit though, I was too tired to ask for a different room.

Cons: During our 3 night stay, I called each day twice to request a straightener and they never had one. It worked out fine, but it was offered on the card in the room. I was hoping there would be at least one day I could use it. Otherwise, great stay.

Pros: I arrived from the US a 6:45 am. I got to the Residence Inn at about 8 am-well before standard check-in. Sara at the front desk was awesome! She offered me coffee and breakfast, and to watch my luggage until my room became ready. And at 10:30am, she gave me my room keys. Thank you for being so very friendly and accommodating!

Cons: The reception staff was awesome. The bathroom in the room however is where I had an issue. I didn’t notice until I took a shower that night but there was mold ALL OVER the ceiling and in the corners of the bathroom. I brought it up to the staff in the morning and they said that they would get it cleaned off. I came back to the room that evening and there was still mold on the ceiling. I looked like they tried to get off some of the bigger spots and then just gave up half way through. It was brought up to them again and I got the same BS answer/result. Luckily we were checking out the next morning. I definitely won’t be staying here again. The staff can’t even take mold issues that can affect someone health seriously.

Pros: Some of the best staff at a hotel I have ever encountered. Extremely helpful and friendly. Good location, but fabulous facility, big modern room, great shower. Highly recommend for all travelers, especially those that will be in Edinburgh for multiple days. Really good breakfast, as well.
