800 hold on bank card as security depositPros:Car was clean, low miles and as advertised (reserved).Cons:In addition to paying the full rental price up front at time of reservation, Economy Rent a Car also placed an $800 hold on my Visa Bank Card as security deposit. This was not made known to me at the time of the reservation, and I've never had any other rental car agency place a hold like that on my card. The representative at the pick up counter said they place an $800 hold for all rentals, if paying with a bank/debit card, regardless of whether or not the bank card also serves as a credit card (mine is a Visa). If the card is strictly a credit card and not linked to your bank account, then the hold is only $300.Reviewed Jul 12 2018

Pros:The check-in person repeatedly lied to me to try force me to upgrade & double the cost. Eventually I informed the manager who pretended to resolve it but I still have the higher charge on my card.Cons:Stopping trying to rip me off.Reviewed Jan 6 2020

Pros:Very little.Cons:I left my Bose Noise Cancelling headphones in the front passenger seat of the car. An attendant got into the car and started working before I had finished gathering all of my things and he misplaced the headphones. I didn't get them into my bag and have since tried calling the location rental agency about retrieving my headphones, they have not called me back. If you could reach out to them and help me, I'd be very grateful. My number is 206.605.4898. Thank you.Reviewed Dec 11 2019

Pros:The line at pick up was very short compared to payless car rental. So got service very quickly (the service was of very poor quality...see below). The person showing us to the car on level 3 was very friendly and efficient). The cost of rental was low ($117 for 5 days).Cons:The lady who gave us service at the desk was horrible. Her name is Pamela (with a Puerto Rican or Mexican accent) and she is working at the San Diego airport location. The first thing she tried to do was to have us take a car of higher value as soon as we approached her. She said it is better to take an SUV than a midsize car. Then she said it is mandatory that we pay for insurance regardless of what we chose to do. We called our insurance company while there to give her proof that we have coverage from them. After these attempts were unsuccessful, she tried to convince us to buy a card for toll bridges and roads saying that there are tons of them in San Diego and that we will have to pay large fines for every unpaid toll fee. We did not take that option either given her low credibility up to that point. Needless to say, we didn't encounter any toll roads or bridges during our entire stay and we drove to all the major attractions of the area. So...beware of Pamela. She is the worst agent with the worst attitude toward service of clients. She was obnoxious, unkind and unpleasant to work with.Reviewed Jan 5 2020

Probably the worstPros:Initial contact was supposed to be $7 a day Which I didn’t really expect it to be. But at the end I ended paying around $180 before gas Tank wasn’t full, older car, check engine light comes up within 5 minutes, car stink inside (probably why windows were open). My worst rental everCons:EverythingReviewed Jan 8 2018
