Overview Reviews
Since 1850, the Willard has epitomized Washington luxury hotels and remains a destination for the world’s power brokers and visitors drawn to the nation’s capital. The hotel is charming and sophisticated, situated in a coveted location: just two blocks from the White House and National Mall. Revered by locals and guests, the Round Robin remains a lively meeting place since the days of Abraham Lincoln. After a busy day in D.C; enjoy a relaxing treatment at the Red Door Spa.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It's hard to say: the lobby is stupendous, but the staff were what really got my attention. Exquisite service and manners. The location is amazing. My room was small, but excellent.
Cons: not one thing.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was absolutely amazing! Great location
Cons: The room may have been undergoing renovations and there was unfinished sheetrock in the ceiling.
7,0 Good
Pros: Fantastic location. Fits well with the flair of Washington. The hotel is also visited by many business guests from the Washington area. Very central. Everything important is within walking distance. Very special: Teatime in the lobby with harp music, mainly used by the ladies and daughters from the upper class. The breakfast was in a cafe directly next door with nice staff and a typical buffet offer.
Cons: However, the breakfast prices were unreasonably high, probably because many business visitors also had breakfast there. For Europeans it took getting used to the fact that the air conditioner blew one's neck even in December at low temperatures. The cocktail selection in the hotel bar was very modest, as were the cocktails themselves. Unfortunately, the rooms are not well soundproofed. You can hear every sound from the corridor or from neighbouring rooms, which is due to badly closing doors. This is unworthy for a hotel of this price category and reputation.

Pros: Service is excellent - everyone is so nice and helpful. Staying with the Presidential Pardoned Turkeys was a bonus HAHA. Hotel is an updated classic!!!
Cons: Cafe staff was rude on last day. Our bathtub backed up every night.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: VERY CLEAN AND LOCATION IS AWESOME.
Cons: I RECEIVE 2 ROOM BUT I ENDED BEING SEPARATED FROM MY FAMILY. WHEN SOMEONE BOOK 2 ROOM, THEY ARE LOOKING FOR CONNECTED ROOM.

Pros: Location

2,0 Mediocre
Pros: We liked the lobby and the bathroom tiles/golden touch.
Cons: First, we were given a room with the TV on the right side of the bed (which means you can't watch TV) and the Air conditioning compressors were right by the window on the third floor where there is a roof right outside the window and made so much noise. Then when I complained they gave us another room on the 5th floor, but the TV had no internet (which means you can watch only cable channels) and the sheets were the complete opposite of soft, they scratch your skin as if they bought them from some cheap discounted place. The bathroom had hair on the sink. Not to forget this is a 5 stars hotel, we usually stay at cheaper places with fewer stars and way better experience, we live in DC, it's just we wanted to try the WILLARD.!
1,0 Poor
Cons: The parking is terrible since they request valet parking. It was really inconvenient to get stuff or get my own car to drive
5,0 Okay
Pros: Beautiful Lobby.
Cons: Room was not cleaned. Toilet was disgustingly dirty. Hair in the shower and on the counter. Nespresso machine did not work properly, think it had a clog. Crumbs on the carpet. Did not expect to be checking my sheets for signs of use in a 5 star hotel.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is exquisite! We enjoyed our stay and will be back!

Pros: Location and cleanliness
Cons: Bathtub does not drain well
7,0 Good
Pros: Good Hotel but not good value for what you pay. We were under the impression the buffet breakfast was included based on what we were told by one of the staff only to see a $62 charge on my invoice for 2 people. After inquiring i was told no continental breakfast was included and i had to pay up. Also $56 for valet parking is a little too much i think. Nice place but too pricey for what they deliver. would not stay again.
Cons: Too expensive for what you get! Fact no breakfast was included and no mention of that fact was openly disclosed.

Pros: The room was very clean. Had everything we needed. The staff would come in twice a day to clean and set up for bedtime. We really loved the service.
Cons: When we checked in, they overcharged us for more than $300. The final bill was correct when we checked out but it surely wasn't satisfying that they overcharged that much at the beginning. The AC was blowing right toward my head when I'm in bed. It was uncomfortable even the fan was on low. Kind of gave me headaches. We also wished there was another trash bin right next to the sink in the bathroom for convenience.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, I love this hotel, i will always choose this hotel in D.C! Thank you !
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were fantastic from the moment we arrived until the moment we checked out. The bellboys and doormen were courteous, polite and helpful. A special mention and thank you to the Attache Ali Merchant who couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. Among other things, Ali booked us a table at the fabulous BLT Prime restaurant which is situated in the Hotel itself and serves a variety of dishes which would satisfy the broadest range of palates and tastes.. The bone-in steak and Dover sole was fantastic for which master chef Mr Burke deserves the greatest accolades - it really was the best steak I have ever had! The concierges were always attentive and extremely helpful eg they printed out some documents which we requested and brought them to our room which was very nice. The in-room dining was superb in both quality, speed of service and attention to detail. My only minor gripe was that a second chair was not provided for in-room dining as there is only one chair in the room (but this is provided on request). Everything you could ever need for a super-comfortable stay is provided in the room and anything extra you may require is just a phone call away. Interesting history and tasteful décor adorn the wall and fabric of the hotel itself and a trip to the watchtower is especially worth your while. Overall, a fantastic Hotel experience which definitely merits further visits.
Cons: Our prior experience in 5 star hotels included shower/bathroom slippers being replaced daily but this was not the case at Trump Washington DC. This was not a major thing but if you're used to this routine, then the omission of the slippers seems like a mistake by housekeeping but this of course could be Hotel policy. A definite oversight/mistake by housekeeping was that the cups and saucers were not replaced after the housemaid's visit. This required a phonecall to have some sent to our room so we could enjoy our evening tea. These were minor inconveniences and did not take away from an overall very positive experience at Trump International Hotel.

Pros: Very upscale looking hotel
Cons: The A/C was on blast. Too cold in the common public areas. Like arctic cold. Uncomfortable. Also the lighting in the room was totally insufficient. Very dim and dark. Opening the windows didn't help because we were in a room on the inside part of the hotel which faced the other wall of the building.

Pros: Beautiful hotel! Amazing dinner. Great staff!
Cons: Price!
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Great beds, bedding, white noise from fans, slept great despite busy urban street noise.
Cons: The shower was the worst, I'm so over these low-flow shower heads, the pressure seems to be getting worse and worse--even in high-end 4 & 5 star hotels. Small glass partition and no door on shower.

Pros: All the staff were incredibly helpful and courteous!

Pros: Great location. Nice bar/lounge. Clean, professional and friendly staff.
Cons: They added a $25 "facility fee" at check in. Was not part of the booking.com price so it felt little deceiving.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel, the only US property of an English boutique chain, is an absolute gem. This is my second stay and the lobby and rooms are very nice. Most importantly, the staff is extremely warm and congenial.
Cons: I would like some USB ports in the room, both at desk and at bedside; currently they have neither. I also stopped by the bar, on my own, and found the table service to be poor. But these don’t detract from an otherwise terrific stay.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: On my way to the hotel I received a call from the staff of the hotel who informed me my room was upgraded to a suite. This room was FANTASTIC -- great amenities, plenty of space, clean, and a terrific view of Dupont Circle and the National Cathedral that's a mile away. The best hotel experience in DC by far.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Solid hotel for professionals and tourists. Perfect location and excellent service.
Cons: The bar prices are high, as in most hotels.

Pros: The staff was most amazing! It couldn't have been nicer or more professional. The rooms were very nice.
Cons: I expected more luxury for such a highly rated hotel chain. The room did not have a few amenities that would have made my stay more comfortable like a coffee maker or a microwave. There was no room in the mini fridge to put anything in as it was filled with overpriced beverages. The hotel was not totally central so mostly it took a car to get to a destination.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Bed, shower... view
Cons: Restaurant was bad and no buffet also no store in the hotel
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everyone was very nice and the food was wonderful. The hotel was spotless and decorated very well.
Cons: Nothing. It was great.
6,0 Good
Cons: When your paying $450 you would expect free internet
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I love everything about the hotel- the staffs, the room is specious and beatifly decorated, room, bed, bathroom are comfortable. The staffs are friendly. They’re great with kids too. Breakfast is good. Location is perfect. It’s close to sightseeing places but a little tucked away from trafffic and craziness. I love the hotel setting that is next to the water. Everything about this hotel is just 7 star standard I was looking for.
Cons: Parking $55 per night!
7,0 Good
Pros: Rooms and lobby are beautifully decorated; everything is new; good locations for exploring the Mall or the Tidal Basin; nice cosmetics in the bathroom; friendly staff; quick room service; good vegetarian options available
Cons: My room had the worst wifi I have ever encountered - in certain areas of the room it did not work at all and the connection was disconnected every couple of minutes. And they actually want to charge for the wifi (by the hour! - more if you want to stream movies). The mini bar is in a cupboard next to the bed - so be prepared to be woken in the middle of the night when the fridge starts working. There was no desk in my room - rather only a dining table - not ideal if you have to work (if you can manage to get the wifi going). The breakfast buffet is bad: They offer only a few warm dishes and these are kept in very heavy dishes under heat lamps. Thus you may burn yourself trying to get the lid of the dishes, but the food inside is cold at the bottom and dry on top. The eggs were really not edible at all - even if you arrive before 7 in the morning. The service in the restaurant had me waiting for the check for 45 minutes - also not great if you have to get to work or to a meeting. The rooms do not have coffee- or tea-making-facilities and there was not even a free bottle of water in the room upon arrival. If you are in DC on business, check whether the location is for you. For me, most meetings were clearly not in walking distance. Thus, the hotel might rather cater for tourists that want to have quick access to the Mall.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Best hotel we've stayed at in Washington, DC (we've lived here for most of our lives). Beautiful, comfortable rooms. Great, accommodating staff who will go out of their way to make your stay as perfect as possible. Spectacular bartender (Poco) who can juggle three cocktail shakers with drinks in them! Easy walking distance to the Wharf Area with tons of great restaurants (our they have a free electric shuttle!)
Cons: Breakfast was only average, and expensive. No charger for plug-in vehicles except for Tesla.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the stay, but unfortunately our 9th floor room looked at the building next door, so we were bummed to not get the view side. Staff was incredible. One of the concierge did an excellent job of helping us the other gave us details of something to do for the day that had ended the day before
Cons: the lack of view

Pros: The judgemental bias staff too many minorities and people of color.
Cons: Everything in the aspect of the on-site staff.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was great, it was brilliantly located, the rooms are spotless and comfortable, but the biggest stand out is the staff. The concierge, Virginia, expertly, enthusiastically and thoughtfully advised and guided me, made calls and arrangements, bookings and cancellations, helping make the most of my stay. However, above and beyond my highest expectations, Dounia Chennagui (guest experience expert) sparing no expense and completely on her own volition, ensured that my every need was met, after learning my luggage was lost by the airline. Dounia surprised me with the entire range of my favorite hair products, searched for a Jacket for me, arranged a late checkout and sent me up breakfast on the morning of my departure. I was blown away by the personal care and attention I received from Dounia, which enhanced my experience of the hotel more than she could ever imagine.

Pros: Breakfast was average. Service was good.
Cons: Entering the hotel through the motor lobby
5,4 Okay
Cons: The service this trip was underwhelming. Few encounters with rude staff. The check in process was inefficient, rooms weren’t ready for hours after normal check in time and no call or notification when they were ready. Also, hair in the bathroom from previous guests.

Pros: - Facilities were great - Hotel rooms comfortable and spacious - Very nice Gym facilities - Front desk staff very welcoming and corporative
Cons: - Room wasn't ready on time - Staff in lobby area; not so friendly - Corridors were very warm

6,7 Good
Pros: Great location
Cons: The hotel rooms are kind of shabby. We were in a 1 bedroom suite which was nice but the furniture and decor wasn't very luxe. The lighting in the bathroom was terrible, and the marble floor was extremely slippery. There was no turn down service so lots of wet towels when we came back from dinner. Bugs in the bathtub, too. We stayed at the Four Seasons the night before and it was a spectacular for a very similar price.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The staff are great and go out of their way to make your stay perfect. Meticulously clean.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: I loved staying here!! The rooms were very spacious & clean! They had extra sheets and pillows just in case. The room seemed like an apartment with kitchen and living room. I liked that there were doors to separate the room from living room to have more privacy for the ones that stay on the sofa bed. The staff were really nice and polite! The had several choices for breakfast which was really good. We enjoyed the pool table that closed at 10pm which was understandable because it’s late but not too late.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Our overall experience was 9/10 because of the following things: - earlier check-in (~2 hrs before the check-in time) - reception staff - breakfast buffet & waiter/waitress - smooth check-out
Cons: No shaving kit was provided
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Enjoyed having a hot breakfast each morning. The overall selection was good and plentiful. We liked having access to hot water and coffee at all times during the day! The evening reception was a nice surprise and served M-Th 5:00 to 7:00. Then hot cookies were served - nice touch! Great shuttle service to the Metro each day allowed us to not have a car!
Cons: Temperature of the food some mornings was just lukewarm. The powdered eggs were awful. We did not have a car and the first three evenings we had to walk to restaurants after walking all day in spite of asking at the front desk about a shuttle to another area. Would have been nice to have been told at that time about the dinner shuttle. Day 4, our shuttle driver told us about the van going to Shirlington at 5 in the evenings - nice to be able to ride to dinner and get picked up in a timely manner!!
4,6 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was adequate. The outside of the facility was pleasing to the eye.
Cons: The bacon was not cooked and was thin, and there was no lemon for tea. The hash brown and fried potatoes were horrible. However, there was one server that was helpful. The sofa in room 526 need to be replaced, uncomfortable. Although there was curtains at the windows, I could not get adequate sleep because the drapers did not cover the windows. Light from the moon and security lights from the outside shown in. No one was available to help with out luggage.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The staff are very friendly and very accommodating.
Cons: I have stayed here several times and really like it..when I entered the room there was popcorn on the floor..The room was not cleaned properly..Also the carpets in the hallways need to be cleaned they look dirty..

6,3 Good
Pros: Room very clean
Cons: The morning of check out at 5 am no coffee available anywhere in the hotel; no doorman yo hail a cab; boarding pass PC both not working. Frankly, for a two night stay the bill was 1,100. Definitely not worth nearly 600 per night. I come to Wash DC frequently, I will not return. Marriott is over priced for such mediocre service and amenities.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and beautiful room
Cons: Parking prices were not explained enough. Valet offered to take our car when we were unloading our bags; we assumed it was complimentary since they didn’t say anything. We were SHOCKED when we picked up our car the next day and were charged $70.

Pros: Excellent Concierge
Cons: Could have some more eating options in the evening

9,0 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness
Cons: My room (#036) was pretty far away from the elevator.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This is our go-to hotel in Washington. At times pricier than others, but we find times when it's more affordable and go then.
Cons: Still think the valet parking is a bit expensive, but I usually don't stay much longer than a few nights.
6,0 Good
Pros: The location was great... in the middle of everything and everywhere I needed to get to. Close to the National Mall, Metro stations, and good good and bars. Bartender at lobby bar was awesome.
Cons: It's too expensive for what it is. $60 for valet parking? Yikes. The room was nice, but just a normal room. Could have stayed at other hotels near by with as nice/nicer rooms for cheaper, but I'm pretty committed to the Marriott brand.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean.
7,0 Good
Pros: Club lounge was great. Bed was comfy.
Cons: Gave me the wrong room initially. Encountered multiple rude staff members. Not the quality of customer service I would expect staying at a Marriott.

8,0 Excellent
Cons: Size of room and bathroom and furnishings.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff remembered my friends and me from the day before and made us feel very welcome.
Cons: We wished there was a small freezer compartment for our ice packs in the room fridge. It’s is highly possible that in a different room than mine, there was such a fridge. Otherwise, our expectations were exceeded on every level.

Pros: Close to the University of Maryland campus, it was a good place for us to stay for a football weekend. I would stay here again. Decent breakfast and very friendly staff. It is also easy to find.
Cons: Parking could be a challenge, as it is limited, though we did not have a car so it was fine for us. You are on the main business strip for Campus, so there may be some noise, although we did not notice any issues, excepting for some of the guests who were rather noisy when they came in (it was a night game).

Pros: Location/restaurant food and staff/hotel front desk staff - exceeded my expectations!
Cons: My husband and I stayed in the hotel 5 nights. Our room was not cleaned on one of the days, and (2) we lost sleep on another night because our room was surrounded by 3 rooms that were rented out to a 2-nite bachelorette. We changed rooms.
