Pros: This is one of the best hotels to stay in Zanzibar without a doubt!!! It has amazing facilities world class views of the crystal clear ocean and a world class pool!!! The staff are extremely friendly and the food is world class. I recommend having the lobster Thermidore. Management of the hotel are extremely helpful and provide personalized tours of the hotel too. The private changing room and shower is amazing for guests that want to spend the day at the beach after checking out early. The most impressive staff member is SAM aka Shabaz Khan. He goes beyond the call of duty. He is helpful and funny and always has a sense of pride and professionalism in what he does! Massive respect to him!
Cons: We loved everything!!!!

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect. Emailed in advance to request for special services and hotel gladly accommodated my wishes. It was my birthday and the hotel served breakfast in the room... prepared a table by the beach for dinner and the staff sang the most cheerful song and made me a cake. The restaurants have very tasty food! The poor bar serves good food and cocktails ✌
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Just a blissful hotel, busy but you always get a sunbed. Super lovely staff and lovely African decor.
Cons: Coming into the village to get to the hotel is pretty terrible, the road is like a rollercoaster. And because it's not safe to walk after dark you need to take taxis which should be 2-3 mins takes 15 with the terrible roads
10,0 Excellent
Pros: they are so friendly you feel like you are at home
Cons: everything was great

9,2 Excellent
Pros: The staffs are friendly. The reception welcomed as with cold beverage and freshly made cookies. The Filipina staff was very helpful. She gave us aloe vera for our burnt skin. There were security guards specially near the beach area. The food was great. The breakfast buffet and lunch buffet had many selections. On dinner, they had themed nights. Our favourite was the African night which was on a Sunday night. It was a romantic setting by the beach with a live band. On the other nights, the buffet setting were in the restaurant area.
Cons: The beach area has plenty of seaweeds specially during low tide. We booked a room with a pool view. They did give us the room facing the pool but covered by the tree. We wished we just opted for the garden view instead.

Pros: Beach front,To get to location from Airport will take 1hr 30min.Roads are not good ,you go through village not great travel at night roads are very bumpy. Not worth $250 per night with breakfast only
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Staff very friendly, can’t do enough for you. Great location
Cons: Rooms & bathrooms in serious need of refurbishment
2,0 Mediocre
Pros: Booked Doubletree Nungwi but the Kayak stuffed up the booking and created a reservation with a hotel in a different city.
Cons: Wasted over an hour on the phone to Kayak who refused to find us an alternate hotel in Nungwi. Still waiting for a refund. Terrible booking experience. A good way to ruin a holiday.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Cleanness Staff were very friendly and showed all the help they could offer namely: salah, ali mousa, mloja mfgale
Cons: Beach area was small
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Had the best experience at this resort. Staff was super nice. They remember uour face and make sure you are comfortable and part of the group. Room was stunning and right on the beach
Cons: As a vegetarian, i didn't have too many options. It was either rice with veggies or potatoes. Maybe add more options
8,8 Excellent
Pros: This is a great resort, the pool was great & the cocktails and food was amazing. The restaurant changes the food up enough that it stays interesting.
Cons: We did an all inclusive package. We didn’t realise that you could get the ‘better’ cocktails at different bars so bar hopping was a good thing to do because they don’t advertise that u can (the pool bar was limited but at the beach bar you could get spirits etc on the all inclusive). It was disappointing that when the staff saw u had a ‘red’ wrist band meaning all inclusive, they delay the service and u basically have to hunt them down for a drink. Our friends who weren’t all inclusive continually got haggled to buy drinks. We had 2 days were our shower water was cold.

9,0 Excellent
Pros: The beach is wonderful and staff at the bar and restaurant on the beach were lovely. Breakfast and dinner at main pavillion were great. Room was spacious.
Cons: A small thing but lunch at the beach bar could be more varied as it's pretty much the same thing everyday however the food is very good! I could hear music most evenings from the Kendwa Rocks resort which didn't bother me but it may do for some people.

Pros: From the very first moment we fell in love with this surreal place. - beautiful colourful beach in front - staff is amazing! they go extra mile to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable; from the cleaning ladies to the manager assistant people are extremely friendly and caring. You are feeling here as a part of a family, which makes it hard to leave this place at the end - delicious food. Special 5 course menus for dinner if you want to diversify your meal and spoil yourself :) Apart of classical menu of the restaurant we tried as well the local traditional food which is not on the list, but they can arrange it easily
9,6 Excellent
Cons: Limited food choice
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were outstanding. They went out of their way to ensure we had a lovely time. Particular thanks go to Hellen who even arranged a birthday cake and other treats for my husbands.Nothing was too much trouble! The location and views were fantastic and the food freshly prepared and delicious.
Cons: The pillows were a little uncomfortable for us but may suit others
2,5 Mediocre
Cons: Wi-Fi did not work at all, the quality service absolutely insufficient. It did not match with our expectation especially because the price is very high.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was really friendly, the place was so beautiful and the food were really good.
Cons: You might need to make sure to be available for breakfast and dinner before getting hungry because it takes them a while to prepare. Beach is good as a view but many Sea urchins.
7,9 Good
Pros: We stayed in delux room with a small private pool and easy access to beach. The room is extremly lovely with good decoration, always fresh and clean. The hotel is located a little bit remote to social life, suiatable for couples. Food and drinks are OK and fairly priced.
Cons: The staff is very slow and very quite, they say do it in 15 minutes, becomes 45 minutes. The barmaid does not know how to make coctails. The cleaning in the restaurant is not enough (the ash trays are full for 2 days)There is tide season in early August so can not swim, pools are small
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location and beach very nice with amazing view .Rooms were very clean and more than enough,Also pool bar and restaurant has very good service.Location and hotel is better than we saw in the photos highly recommeded!
Cons: The location is almost 50-60 kilometrea from airport its not far away but the roads are terrible we came with our vehicle that 50 kilometers taking around 2 hours and google map is not working properly in nungwe village.

Pros: Beautiful holiday. Amazing resort with such friendly staff.
3,3 Mediocre
Cons: The staff was unprofessional and the service was just bad!! The water in the water polo pool was just 1/4 inch away from the electricity socket. This hotel is way too over rated! The beach was packed with annoying local beach boys. Very bad internet connection and the room had mosquitoes! The quality of the room was bad. The food was ok. The meat and fish was definitely not fresh!! Half of the price would be just acceptable, but not a cent more!!
5,8 Okay
Pros: Location is amazing, regardless the 90’ trip from airport staff are friendly and willing to help
Cons: Badly maintained, and F&B is a complete disaster. Not a 5 star at all.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Beach
Cons: Food offer was not great - wine on the all inclusive list not good at all. Towels and sheets not 100% clean. Poor customer service. Despite requesting 2 rooms close together at the time of booking - our children’s room was in a different block. Management just shrugged and said they couldn’t do anything but offered to move us to different rooms the following day.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing. wouldn't stay anywhere else. The location is 100% amazing. There are 4-5 pools with swim up bars and a private beach, where people can't really bother you. On the public side of the beach, tour guides try to hackle you to buy a tour - both good and bad - it's easy to book something, but sometimes you get tired of saying "No Thank you." The staff are more than friendly, they remembered my name in the dining room. The rooms are spectacular with more footage than needed. Volleyball court to play, bocce ball. The food also was quite amazing.
Cons: Loved everything
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Its Africa. Dont expect real 5 European stars but the hotel is really good. Beautiful beach, nice swimming pools and friendly staff. Rooms need a bit renewal but they are still ok. Food is fine, only sea food is missing - i have found only octopus through 7 days stay.
Cons: The road from airport to hotel is horrible. Last 500 m is local road and the hotel should inmediatelly invest in it. If You pay 500 usd per night You might expect at least safe road!
6,3 Good
Pros: They have a nice pool and they have a wonderful beach.
Cons: For all inclusive it was WAY over priced. They served us raw pork and their fish was way over cooked. Bar service was incredibly slow and they ran out of tonic water, ice and other items. The grounds need a lot of maintenance.

Pros: The facility is away from the beach hustle as it is located at the near end of Nungwi beach. However it is close to other popular beach, Kendwa. It is very tranquil place to enjoy ocean.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff and quiet place to relax
Cons: More facilities and vibe
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was spectacular. We really enjoyed our stay at Mnarani.
7,5 Good
Pros: They upgraded my room
Cons: Breakfast
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location (the quiet side of Nungwi beach), perfect staff (book tours with Mustafa, he's the best!), wonderful food, lovely swimming pool and area. I loved it!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel area was really big, with really beautiful garden. Hotel offers everything you need on holiday - massage, water sport equipment, pool, even darts and billiard. Food was very good, breakfast always freshly made once receiving orders. As super bonus for me - hotel is located bit further from main hotels in Nungwi - so if you want to have quiet neighborhood, it is exactly the place you need. Super big thank you for the staff - very helpful, friendly and almost invisible.
Cons: Cannot find any
6,7 Good
Pros: The Zanzibar house room was very nice, we had own balcony with hammock, a kitchenette area with kettle and teas and coffees and fridge. It was always clean, the cleaners look after the resort well. The pool was decent, nice to lounge around. The resort is very green with lots of trees and plants around. The gardens are well maintained. The best feature of our stay were the staff. They were always friendly and welcoming.
Cons: This place is on the other side from where all the exciting activities are such as beaches, restaurants, bars etc. If you are looking for peace and quite then this might be a good option but otherwise look closer to the main resorts. The dinner was hit and miss and the portions were tiny. We had to book our room with half-board as that was the only option. As there's no local restaurants close by it was convenient but not very tasty and satisfying. On top of that you were always required to purchase a drink with dinner for extra costs including just water which was massively overpriced. Water was $2, the shops sell it for 1000 shillings. Beer was $4 which is the most expensive we have seen in all of Zanzibar. Half board should include at least a water in my opinion, they try to extort as much money as they can. Half board is definitely not a good value for money. There's no sandy beach around, there's a tiny bit of beach as you walk down the stairs but it's not what one imagines a beach to be like. It's full of pebbles, sharp rocks, seaweed and garbage. The closest sandy beach is half an hour walk away through the village.

8,0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great and the views from our room were breathtaking. The bed was super comfy as well. With the number of rooms at the hotel it felt very exclusive and not overcrowded. The staff were extremely friendly.
Cons: The local cuisine was better than the hotel food. The specialised "burgers" from their menu sounded delicious, however the beef & chicken patty meat was extremely processed, it didn't taste great.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything in this place is high quality. From the amazing pool that continues visually to the sea, to the food, the huge, sparkling clean and new rooms (not to mention the bathroom). The staff is super helpful and professional, attentive 24/7. We felt great and enjoyed our honeymoon a LOT!
Cons: It is located in a quiet place of Nungwi, which was great for us, but it should be taken into account that in order to go to the restaurants in the center of Nungwi, a taxi is needed, and the roads outside the hotel are in a poor condition. It is possible to eat at the hotel but depending on the day it can be a bit pricey.
8,3 Excellent

Pros: Everything else, the staff, the food the beach the pool the activities. This place is amazing and for me I prefer here over the Maldives. The staff make this place a very special place and they are so kind and friendly. Special thanks to Youssef, Patricia, Atigon and Lydia for making our stay an unforgettable one. Also the chef deserves a big congratulations, usually an all inclusive they quality and taste are sometimes compromised but not here, well done.

5,4 Okay
Cons: The receptionist was extremely rude to us! He was shouting at the top of his voice and was being very aggressive. We felt very intimidated and not safe
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The beautiful localization of the property, the opportunity to have dinner by the pier and the crew members were amazing.
Cons: Wifi was not working properly during our stay, even in the room we couldn't have access to internet. The maintenance is something to care about, our shower was not working well through the whole stay.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Quiet location out of the hords of other tourists. Bike rental. Every evening the different location of dinner. Sometimes the entretaiment. Big pool. Nice green garden inside.
Cons: The hotel didnt accept our cc, so we paid by bank transfer, but hotel didnt get the money, the reservation was the communication was poor. Sometimes we had to wait long time for the dinner, more than one hour.
9,6 Excellent
Cons: We arrived in the early hours of the morning, it would have been great if the receptionist was on the desk to check us in immediately.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The infinity pool with the sea view and pier are unforgettable. The bungalows are space full and placed in a beautiful garden. Perfect location for honeymoon or family holiday. Rooms are clean, space full and staff was friendly and helpful.
Cons: Drinks at the bars and restaurants are little bit overpriced compare to the competitors. So were the spa services. The bed mattress was bit harder.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is absolutely beautiful, private jetty with a restaurant on it, huge pool overlooking the ocean, it's absolute paradise. Super friendly staff. Great room. Beautiful gardens. Half-board is great value too!
Cons: Unfortunately the wifi is pretty bad. I mean, you wanna be coming here to get away from it all since its such an incredible place, but if you do need to be sending things for work and need decent wifi it would be a little frustrating.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The pool is phenomenal! The juices and mocktails on offer are delicious and the pool service was wonderful. All the staff at the resort were very friendly and accommodating. The staff and the pool are the resort's greatest strengths.
Cons: The food selection was very limited and what there was lacked quality. The kids club is run down. Many parts of the resort are dated, thus feeling it was overpriced. The TV in the room had a grainy picture the whole time but we only watched a little in the evenings.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: We ventured here after safari, wanting to have a bit of relaxation time after being up at 5:30am for multiple days straight! The hotel grounds are quite beautiful and lush. The cottage we stayed in was very clean, comfortable, and well air conditioned! We really loved the room and it was comfortable for 3 adult friends, each with our own beds (two twins and a pull out couch). There were two dining options - a restaurant near the pool and one out the jetty walk at the end of the pier. It offered beautiful sunset views and a nice place to enjoy a drink! The pool was nice and didn't feel overly crowded while we were there.
Cons: For the half board option, we thought the dinners were just OK. One night we had to wait an hour to get our food and the restaurant was not full. The kitchen appeared understaffed that night as we weren't the only ones waiting. The first night, my kebabs were so over cooked I couldn't eat them. For what we paid, the food could have been better. Though if you don't do the half-board option, you are venturing out at night to another hotel/resort to dine, which we didn't want to do. For the convenience of it, it was better to choose that option. We also tried the spa and one of us had the unfortunate experience of having mildewy towels used on her during her facial. Disappointing when you are paying a lot of money for those services and that's the quality you receive. We also asked about specials when we went in and were told there weren't any, then after we paid for the services, found a brochure offering discounts.
5,4 Okay
Pros: Stuff were super nice
Cons: There is no beach near the hotel , there is only rocks and water, the pool wasn't so clean, hotel incerage you to ask for a taxi to the beach which is 15 mins away, and just an average beach as well. The rooms are not more then fine and not clean enough for 5 star rating in my opinion.
