Pros: Amazing experience.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: The staff was amazing and gracious. The gentleman who took our specific request ( don’t remember his name, it started with ‘M’ was so wonderful and helpful and Amina was also so gracious.
Cons: Nothing, we loved it.

Pros: Fantastic: room, bell man, staff, bar and breakfast!!!

Okay 5,0
Pros: The staff were very friendly and eager to help. However we were given some incorrecr information which completely derailed our plans for the final night.
Cons: The room we stayed in was poorly located and didn't catch any breeze and so was stiflingly hot and the a/c was glacial. A ceiling fan might be a possible option to ensure the rooms can stay cool. The bathroom was ridiculously small and in need of some upgrades to the fittings, particularly the taps and the showerhead which were encrusted with lime from the water. The sad little shower curtain was not a great look either. The breakfast has been the worst breakfast I have had at a supposedly 5* hotel. Both the hot and cold options were severely limited and underwhelming. The food was not particularly tasty either.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Serena Hotel was our first stop in Zanzibar on what has turned out to be one of the best trip of our lives. We spent two nights in stone town at the Serena Hotel. The hotel is really quite a heritage in stone town. Fantastically located, just a short walk from the old city. An excellent breakfast spread and really charming room which still has lots of classic touches that make it quite authentic. Tip: book a sun down dinner at the Emerson Spice which is a 10 min walk from the hotel! And book in advance to get the roof top/terrace!
Cons: There was a wedding on our last night and whilst it was quite entertaining to watch, I do wish the hotel had informed us as we could not go to bed until after 11pm when the wedding ended.
Excellent 9,3
Pros: The service was impeccable and staff was very attentive to my needs. The buffet breakfast in AM was excellent. Wide variety of local cuisine with traditional breakfast with eggs, bacon and lots of other choices to choose from. My room was well taken care of especially with the room cleaning in AM and turn down was nice too. The room is scented with jasmine, windows shutters are closed and the mosquito net is covered around the bed. Needless, to say, I slept well. The AC and WiFi was reliable and the view from my room was beautiful.
Cons: I did not like how close the ocean is to the hotel. There is hardly any beach real estate left. The beach is very busy with locals so it isn’t as quiet as say the other side of the island. I ate once in the evening and ordered shrimp. It was tasty but the evening menu needs to be revamped. It’s too limited. I did sample a variety of desserts and this really needs to be worked on. For example, the mousse was too powdery and lacked consistency. The coffee bar isn’t inviting. It’s very sparse with limited cake menu that isn’t appealing. I did not order any hot drinks.

Pros: Very kind staff, location, quality
Cons: -
Good 7,5
Pros: Staff were absolutely amazing. The hotel is an amazing Oasis in the hustle and bustle of a busy town. The room was very comfortable and well appointed with beautiful authentic furniture. The restaurant views are beautiful and service was outstanding.
Cons: We were surprised by the location - no road frontage and accessed down a few narrow alleys - so a bit difficult to find, but of course this can't be changed. Perhaps notice of the off-road location on the booking confirmation, better signage and make the access to the hotel more inviting and attractive?
Excellent 9,3
Pros: Location The best close to main attractions in Stone Town Delicious breakfast in room safe Good Wiifi Confortable room gym OKF friendly helpful staff Beautiful deco
Good 7,5
Pros: Nice rooms
Cons: No proper view which is not stated in site
Mediocre 3,8
Cons: Location of Hotel in too Inside.. We had to look for it after being 5Star Hotel.. They have to keep Big SIGN FOR GUIDANCE.. AND TOO SMALL ROOMS NOT WORTH OF AMOUNT CHARGED..
Excellent 9,5
Pros: The service in the restaurant was great, staff went out of their way. Great choices for dinner and high quality.
Cons: The service in the restaurant was great, however there was little choice and food was often like warm.
Excellent 9,3
Pros: Great breakfast. Food really fresh and plenty of options. Bed really comfortable, slept well in the aircon. Great location, easy to walk around Stone Town
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Great location. Great staff. Clean. Comfortable. Good food. Great WiFi.
Excellent 9,5
Pros: Cooperative and friendly staff especially Mr Yahia
Excellent 9,5
Pros: Though small, the bed was very comfortable and it had lots of closet space. It was great to have a TV, an iron, blow dryer, soaps, lotion, etc. The artwork was also stunning
Cons: It was nice, but too small—even for one person
Good 7,4
Pros: Big clean comfortable beds, spacious room, great wifi, fridge in the room, excellent tv reception with lots of channels
Cons: We didn't have hot water the first day. They fixed it the second, but the water pressure wasn't very good- I don't have thick hair and it took awhile to rinse the shampoo out... It's set back a ways from road so you need help with your bags an the food in the restaurant is limited and prices are high. Better breakfast at the Serena

Pros: Perfect place
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Everything. Historic hotel in beautiful setting, lovely pool and beach.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Location and staff
Excellent 9,3
Pros: Location is central. Can go to Prison island from the beach behind by boat. Old style hotel but fairly well maintained. You will like it if you like antique stuff.
Excellent 9,3
Pros: Great location, lovely hotel and facilities.
Cons: A little disappointed that this is an alcohol free hotel.
Excellent 8,3
Pros: The hotel has plenty of historical character and occupies a prime location overlooking the sea. The views are beautfiul and you can walk straight out of the restarant onto the beach. Rooms and bathrooms are clean. Air conditioning is more than adequate. Staff are polite and helpful; when I wanted to change the table in my room, so that it was more comfortable to sit at and do some work, the manager organised the task immediately.
Cons: You are very much paying for the history and the location. If you should like gourmet food and elaborate facilities (for example, a spa or business centre), this isn't the place for you.
Good 6,3
Pros: Good internet and nice pool. We stayed in the Annex building and it is 300 meters away. Great breakfast with a nice view
Cons: The price is way to high for Tanzania. You get similar located hotels with similar service in Europe near beaches. At least 20-50% overpriced.
Excellent 9,3
Pros: Rahim, one of the staff, was EXTREMELY nice and helpful and friendly. He even gave me his personal number and asked to call him with any problems. He assisted with our transfer to Nungwi and even on the way back, even though we were not staying in his hotel any more, he offered to help with arranging the ride back. The hotel location is great, right on the beach front with a chill pool and great breakfast.
Cons: Nothing major comes to mind.

Excellent 10,0
Pros: We enjoyed staying at Temba, staff was very helpfull and experieced something special of the culture. Special location!
Cons: The fact that there was no alchoholic drinks served at the hotel. In the time we were there, a few travellers complained about this fact. This Hotel cater for tourists and must commit with their needs.

Good 7,0
Pros: Excellent customer service
Cons: Slightly unkempt grounds away from the beach
Okay 5,8
Pros: Easy access for boat departure to Chumbe Island. Short distance to airport. Clean. Very good dinner menu.
Cons: The lady who brought me a welcome fruit plate and then said, " you have something for me?" The beach is a mangrove.... certainly not the typical glorious white sands of Zanzibar.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Good variety and plentiful.
Cons: The wifi was very average.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Actually I didn't stay long in hotel, came night and left early morning because of flight so I didn't have enogh time to take a tour in hotel but in overall these is my observation: - Specious Hotel, mix of traditional and modern buildings, near to the beach.
Cons: Full of Mosquitos in balcony that once you open window for seconds they enter the room. - You have to walk a distance to reach your room "which can be something nice if you are not tired or pregnant". - Beach was too crowded with locals "which can be also something nice" but for me seeking for relaxation.
Excellent 8,3
Pros: Excellent location, close to the beach, fantastic views. Rooms were clean and comfortable
Cons: The reception area does not match the rooms. It is poorly constructed, walkways are not paved.
Good 7,0
Pros: Nice large room with airconditionning
Cons: Very bad internet connection and slimy bottom in the sea. I expected nice, white sand and clear water
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Location, staff personal attention and the food
Cons: Nothing was wrong, was perfect thanks
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Good location for Chumbe Island which was the main reason for staying. Novel hotel layout amongst the Mbweni House ruins.
Cons: Nothing to dislike although the room was on the slightly smaller side but with a great shower!
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Manager is very accommodant and staff so NICE... GO THERE
Excellent 9,7
Pros: First the staff was amazing and so was the location. I liked being close to stone town and the airport but still having a secluded beach.
Cons: The bathrooms could use an update but rest of the room was great
Excellent 9,3
Pros: Well situated in shady gardens
Cons: The noise of the renovations was terrible
Good 7,0
Pros: Room is good, and clean
Cons: Dinner - had to return my order

Good 6,8
Pros: Interesting location, large room, helpful staff.
Cons: AC master control was centralized and turned off during the day making staying in the room extremely uncomfortable, even between breakfast and check-out at 11AM.
Excellent 9,3
Pros: The staff is absolutely lovely and caters to your every wish. The place is absolutely clean and well furnished, so you can relax and enjoy your stay.
Excellent 9,3
Pros: The staff alone would worth 10* score, they went out of their way to cater to every whim of ours, helped with parking, shopping, gave us advice on where to go and what to see. Also everyone was all-around deligthful, very nice people. The place and the owner were very accomodating, and these things made our stay a very good experience.
Cons: The only kind of negative thing is, that since the property is located at the edge of stone town, the streets are a bit noisy, and the filtered in to our room. We took care of it, by turning on the overhead fan to 50%, which generated a constant hum, that was easy to sleep to, even early in the evening, when people were moving around on the streets. Being this close to stown town center and beach was totally worth it though :)

Excellent 9,5
Pros: Our room was fabulous and the location was central to all Stone Town had to offer. The building itself was historic and interesting.
Cons: The coffee and we were a little disappointed with the guide who we went with on the Spice Tour.
Excellent 9,5
Pros: The hotel has a gorgeous Zanzibari setting. The AC Was perfect and so was the decor and courtyard. The breakfast was average. But the mixed juice delicious. Staff were helpful and amazing, they packed me a to go because I had to leave early. The location was amazing, great boutique right in front as well on to the side of the hotel. Unfortunately I didn’t go to the rooftop! Very close to Forodhani gardens and main areas! I would stay here again.
Cons: The food wasn’t that great. Water smelled weird.
Good 6,3
Pros: The designs/ambiance
Cons: There was some type of animal droppings in the shower every day — clearly coming from the ceiling. The showers without doors seemed romantic at first but steamed up the room too much. The bed was rock hard and I didn’t sleep well.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Authentic and perfectly located awesome rooms and roof top.
Excellent 9,3
Pros: Amazing room! (Ask for Adnan) with sumptuous four poster bed and terrace right outside with sun loungers. I felt well looked after from the moment I arrived, including keeping the restaurant open a little later to enjoy a meal when I arrived. As a history buff, I loved reading about all the care that had gone into restoring the old building and the themes of the different rooms. It has lots of charm and character, a pleasant inside courtyard and a lovely view from the rooftop restaurant. Not normally one to rave about fruit, but the pineapples and mangoes at breakfast were to die for! Would definitely recommend!
Cons: Felt prices quoted for excursions and transfers were a little steep, but other than that, for the actual stay itself it was good value for money.
Good 7,0
Pros: Location was good. The antiques all over the room and the hotel.
Cons: Stairs. Steps in the room. Broken windows, some uncleaned shelves in the bathroom, water leaks. Amenities could have been better.
Excellent 9,3
Pros: The location was great - right in the heart of Stone Town. The hotel is absolutely beautiful as each room is uniquely decorated based on a specific them associated with Zanzibar. The breakfast is plentiful and fresh, with everything prepared to order
Cons: The WiFi was a bit patchy in places but other than that there wasn't really anything else to complain about!!
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Good location, amazing food, nice decor, staff is amazing!
Cons: We saw a mouse in the restaurant
Good 6,3
Pros: Comfortable bed.
Cons: Received an indecent phone call to my room at 10pm offering a „gentle massage“, then claiming my confirmed airport transfer for 12:30am was cancelled and I had to leave the hotel by 11:45pm. Went down to reception, where I realized it was the night receptionist, who called. First he denied it was him, then he gave in and started begging me not to report him. As my transfer was actually there before midnight, I had to comply and leave. Communicated with management, they agreed to reimburse me for the night. Never materialized. They claim that booking.com refused to transfer my money back, but why should they, not having anything to do with it. It‘s exactly 4 weeks after I checked out, today and still not resolved. Very slow and unsatisfying communication with the hotel, so I guess, I will not get my money back. Very bad ending to an otherwise nice vacation.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The room was huge with a giant balcony and the staff were super friendly. It was right in the center of stonetown so perfect for sightseeing. Will be back again for sure!
Cons: The air conditioning was fine but maybe with a couple of fans in the rooms it’d be better as the air couldn’t get through the mosquito nets

Excellent 10,0
Pros: Beautiful historical hotel with unique guest rooms. Loved the architecture of the building and the details of the room. Added bonus of a rooftop bar/restaurant with a panoramic view of the town and even a jacuzzi up there. We were one of the few guests in the hotel since it's low season but all of the staff were still very accommodating.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: It was an interesting historic building centrally located. It was very clean, well staffed and managed. All of the staff including the very helpful Maria were most accommodating and actually made you feel truly welcome and sincere. They all went out of their way to please, educate and help us. A safe haven in a bustling city.
Cons: We were surprised that cars/ taxis could not drive right up to the hotel but if a place is well located in Old Stone City only bikes and motor bikes can make it thru the streets.
Excellent 8,8
Pros: Nice location, Stone Town is the perfect location to get to every You need to go, great restaurant above the hotel with a beautiful view. Very helpful and nice staff in the restaurant and reception area.
Cons: The bed is an not comfortable.
Good 7,5
Pros: Nice room, views.
Cons: The power kept going off and their generator also didn’t work. Water pressure not great and pump to the toilet didn’t work most days. No hot water so be prepared for cold showers all the time. Wasn’t until breakfast on the third morning we were offered cooked eggs. Other days the breakfast offerings got less and less but seems they worked it out in the end.
Excellent 9,3
Pros: Great value... especially during busy holiday season. Lovely rooftop restaurant... great for dining, drinks, or just hanging out. Cozy rooms with comfortable beds and decent bathrooms. A little rustic feeling, which we prefer to overly polished (and overly-priced) hotels. Good food, especially breakfasts. Staff was friendly and helpful for setting up city and spice farms tours.
Cons: Location is a 10-15 minute walk to more touristy shops and restaurants. This is not a problem if you have a street map and/or know the way, but we got lost several times... signage is not great and many nearby shops close early, making navigation more difficult. "Pool" on roof isn't much... really just a spot to sit and sip a drink.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Great staff, food, ambiance
Cons: Very difficult to find in the labyrinth of Stontown, even with map. I did not have a GPS, which might solve the problem. Only issue I had was a laundered pair of shorts of synthetic fabric that had the imprint of an iron on it, which burned a small hole and blackened a small area. Not a big deal but would have appreciated a heads-up on that.
Good 7,0
Pros: Big bed, really nice and helpful staff. Great terrace.
Cons: Breakfast was too simple and bad WiFi connection.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Old and classy. Beautifully decorated and furnished. Lovely staff.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Great staff Beautifull house in the center of Stone town. I loved that the staff every evening would make My room ready for Night time, mosquito net down, regulated the aircondition and made the room smell of a Nice fragrance. This was the Best place i stayed. I would go back anytime.

Pros: The staff were welcoming and pleasant. The room provided was immaculately clean as was the swimming pool area. Well done to the cleaning staff!
Cons: the breakfast was poor in choice and quality. I have stayed here at this hotel many times on various short trips to Zanzibar From Dar. It feels that the breakfast has been neglected. Additionally whilst the skip area opposite the hotel has been moved (thankfully)- the smell of the waste remains when walking past - very offensive especially if venturing out for a meal/drink somewhere else
Good 7,5
Pros: Clean comfy and good value for money. Good breakfast
Cons: The door for lunch or dinner was overpriced. Portions were too small for cost and just plain awful. Second night we just called the chef to take the food back and went to bed hungry. Plan to eat elsewhere. Beach house is great.
Excellent 8,3
Pros: Food was really yummy to the tummy. Staff were dedicated. Environment was tidy. Nice simple rooms. Service by waiter and other staff was the best. Very nice building and enmities in side.
Cons: Fairs agreed while booking were different and price charged at the counter was different. We had request assistance on arrangement or recommendation on places to visit while our stay but we did not get any assistance. Every one was looking for their commissions/ interests first than service
Excellent 8,3
Pros: Location is grest, easy to walk down to the seafront and easy to walk into the maze! Hotel is clean, staff are nice, all a bit slow
Cons: Coffee was terrible! Go to the Zanzibar Coffee House, coffee and food was good there
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Breakfast was good enough, although served a bit late on weekends for those with early flights. The reception staff were great and everyone else. I loved the food at the restaurant too and the music there.
Cons: A strong smell from spraying the kitchen spreading to my room area. However the reception staff took time to explain to me and i understood it well.
Excellent 9,7
Pros: Simple but friendly, good quality option in stone town.
Cons: Kayak's price was ~$30 less than booking at the hotel. The person at reception couldn't match the rate even though I was standing at the reception desk while booking.
Good 6,8
Cons: I didnt like that i booked big room and they give us different rooms as per available not as per booked twice i got different room as per available not booked in booking
Excellent 9,3
Pros: The location is perfect. Also very very clean.
Cons: Breakfast was average.
Good 7,5
Pros: The hotel was immaculate, the staff friendly and helpful. The service and food at the rooftop restaurant was great.
Cons: Being woken at 5am by the cleaners clattering around the hotel starting their daily activities.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Great location and staff very helpful.
Cons: Don’t book a tour with hotel, very over priced. Can be noisy early in the morning with staff banging doors.

Pros: The staff of hotel was friendly apart from manager ..
Cons: The rooms were okay. No service. Manager was damn rude. No telephone in the room to call for roon service. Hotel is next to graveyard.. that was the worst thing. Very weird hotel. They say free wifi but it doesn't work.
Excellent 9,3
Pros: Staff were very friendly
Cons: The food lacked variety and was not always available. The room often didn’t have towels and soap and toilet paper
Excellent 9,3
Pros: The hotel is in a perfect location, very short walking distance to the House of Wanders, Old Dipsnesary, Ferry Terminal, Forodhani Street Food Market, Freddie's house, etc. (No access by car so had to walk to the entrance, also no elevator and we stayed at 4th floor) The view from the roof top is spectacular. The room was very spacious, comfortable, however seem a little stuffy and dark smell. I am still very satisfied about the very friendly and helpfull staff from the reception (but not same feeling about the restaurant staff). The Pool was great, clean and the area restful. The hotel overall it is mostly quiet.
Cons: Even if the pool looks great, the facilities there are not the same, there is only one bathroom, very small, for both gents and ladies, and with a not working tap. :( WiFi was very very weak and not available in rooms, just public areas.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The staff were lovely - helpful and friendly and quiet.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: The decor & hotel were beautiful & very comfortable
Cons: It was very noisy at night they could have provided inexpensive ear plugs. It also was a difficult location to get to with luggage.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Great location. Adjacent to the port, restaurants, markets and busy streets.
Cons: Difficult to say anything negative!
Excellent 9,5
Pros: The hotel was very brightly decorated and very attractive. The roof top terrace and restaurant was incredible. Our family room was huge and delightfully decorated.
Cons: It was a little noisy until the little children went to bed.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The hostel has a great location, near the sea. It is in the heart of Stone Town but very quiet at the same time. It is well decorated, a lot of vegetation very appreciated in the city. We have been upgraded and got a free massage for our honey moon, which have been very well appreciated!! Additionnaly, everyone is very nice!
Cons: The rooftop was being renovated so we didn't have the chance to get a drink on sunset but when it will be finished, this rooftop will be amazing!
Good 6,3
Pros: The building and the rooms were tastefully decorated. The hotel had a good location. The spa treatments were enjoyable and to a good standard.
Cons: The restaurant and bar were often under stocked with multiple choices from the menu not available, which seems like a long standing problem which has not been addressed reading over the reviews. Thankfully it is close to some great places to eat such as the coffee house, the tea house and the can not be missed secret garden! No wifi in the bedrooms so we had to stand in the corridor when wanting to use, again another long standing problem. If we had the choice we would not stay here again.

Good 7,5
Pros: Friendly personnel
Cons: Explanation About the shower. Boiler button was off.

Pros: Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and nice rooms. Good location, but hard to find the first time. Good breakfast on roof. Good value for money.
Okay 5,0
Pros: Staff did their to make a bad situation better.
Cons: The place was filthy. Elevator was broken. AC didn't work right. TV not working (no adapter), no kettle to make use of the coffee/tea provided, no maid service unless requested (for what good it did - basically just spread the dirt around), and no towel replacements without requesting.
Excellent 9,3
Pros: Everything was very nice: room, staff, breakfast. Perfect location, near the major points of interest and 5 minutes walk from the ferry.
Excellent 9,5
Pros: Lovely spacious and beautifully furnished rooms. Great service from the friendly staff - able to organise scooter hire and a driving permit for me with no fuss at all. Hotel is tucked away in a calm part of town.
Excellent 9,3

Cons: Nothing

Pros: The staff are great, we checked out and went to the market we didnt expect that we will need a shower when we come back, they actually found us in need of it, and they arranged for us another room to shower in even though already our check out was done earlier in the day.
Cons: The room lay out makes it small even though the size of the room is large
Okay 4,3
Pros: Nothing ....just slept
Cons: Location....room view....staircase
Good 7,5
Pros: Staff were extremely friendly , nice decorations
Cons: Towels were stained, ac was broken and i was only moved to another room the next night, no wifi inside rooms, very limited choices for breakfast
Excellent 8,8
Pros: Old building with beautiful colinial equipment. Near to the city center and the shopping streets. It is simple to find it with the car from the airport.
Cons: Our room didn’t have a balcony, but there is a beautiful rooftop tereace with bar. In the restaurant is qiuet hot.
Okay 5,5
Pros: Good location. Service at breakfast was good despite the limited options.
Cons: No wifi in the bedroom and room beside late nite bar/music. Breakfast very very limited. We were disappointed as we war told we would get little extras as being on honeymoon, however this wasn't acknowledged. Very basic and a place to stay if your options are very limited.
Good 7,5
Pros: Great value and great staff.lovely rooftop restaurant
Excellent 9,3
Pros: It’s like stepping back in history. Fabulous old place with enough comforts to make it a good option. Comfortable beds, fascinating old decor. Eating area on top of building is open and has lovely views over the sea. Awesome local staff!
Cons: Some areas aging slightly.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Great location in the center of Stone town. Traditional and stylish interrior.

Pros: The roof top restaurant is beautiful, location is really good but most importantly the hotel staff is super nice and helpful! Thank you
Cons: Furniture is a bit old and rooms are very dark.

Pros: The manager that put his heart out there for us will not get a better guy
Cons: the lighting around the pool
Excellent 10,0
Cons: Nice weather
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 8,8
Pros: It was a nice place for a conference. A bit further from stone town kept the participants on site the whole day. Spacious lobby and restaurant that could accommodate coffe breaks and lunch for conference participants. Nice view of the beach.
Cons: The WiFi was not good. It kept logging out every 5 min. Not good for a conference with 65 Pelle.
Good 6,3
Pros: Nice setting, great swimming pool. Beds were comfortable allright.
Cons: Our room had a musty smell, like everything had been wet for days. Food isn't worth the money. A lot of people say staff is lazy but I think they are just not well trained.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Omary our waiter was outstanding..in fact all staff was amazing and made our stay worthwhile. The culture, the food and really the extramile. The pool area was clean, the rooms very clean.they taught us the local swahili language.I will definately be visiting soon.
Good 6,3
Pros: We loved the pool and the view! Food was very nice, we tried the seafood restaurant! Friendly and accomodating staff.
Cons: The bathrooms could use a renovation. Also the fact that groups of younger people not staying at the hotel come to the pool to party on weekends (shouting and messing around until late) was uncomfortable for guests trying to have dinner or relax.
Good 7,5
Pros: Breakfast was good, selection of pastries and hot meals. Location was good, 15 min from Stone town. Rooms are huge. There is a nice pool to relax
Cons: This resort has NO BEACH. So don't get confused when reading Beach resort. The sea is just behind the resort, but no beach
Okay 4,5
Pros: Location
Cons: Nothing. The management was poor. I had paid online for the entire stay including taxes but still they charged me for additional taxes. They said Airport shuttle was free when I booked but they wanted to charge me for that. I was lecturing at a workshop in the same hotel. Breakfast was delayed and all the coffee breaks and lunch breaks were delayed. The room was stuffy and the AC was not effective. Despite complaining continually, the problem was solved only on the 3 day and that too not satisfactorily. There was no manager to come and check the problem.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Very attentive and friendly staff. Large swimming pool and management were kind to allow me to briefly swim outside of the daily normal hours of 10am-6pm. Comfy mattress, reasonable wifi, good food and decent breakfast choice. Well located for quick access to the airport.
Cons: Skimmed milk would have been nice as a breakfast choice. The mosquito nets also don't adequately provide protection from the inevitable mosquitoes as the bed frame leaves unavoidable gaps between the bed and the netting.
