When We arrived , wife and I , can I say wife , not partner , we were brought to a room at end of hall on sixth floor . It was right next to ice machine , which was LOUD noise . We refused room and after Wait was moved to another room . 613 . Room was ok except for a terrible mattress and stains on chairs . Not exactly premier .

Cons: The reception staff was not very efficient. I had asked for a King room which it turns out they did not have and did not follow through on their promise to change it the next day, we had to unfortunately insist to obtain it. We were very disappointed with the pool area, not up to the standards of a Belmond. The outside patio is adjacent to an ugly service area, the bar staff does not actively service, and there is little done to relieve guests from the heat (no ventilators, or plants).

Cons: I would really like to see a coffee maker in the room. We like coffee when we get up. And I am not inclined to order a $15.00 pot of coffee from room service. Which means running downstairs to get coffee.

Cons: The first down side was the lack of a standard continental breakfast. For the price, I would expect they could lay out a few options rather than just pastries and apples or oranges with coffee options. The tub in the bathroom was a standard house tub which was not even large enough for my wife to comfortably relax in. Too bad they decided to skimp on such a feature, a bathtub really makes an impact in a high end hotel. The pool area is beautiful but actually nonfunctional as the location kind of makes you a spectacle if you chose to use it.

Pros: The hotel was clean, the staff was kind, knowledgeable, attentive, and professional. We were upgraded to a room with a beautiful view of the fountain. We also used the free bikes provided by the hotel. The hotel is placed perfectly in the downtown stretch, we walked everywhere & explored with ease. Our experience was great! We would go there again in a heartbeat.

Cons: I felt like the hotel was a bit pricey but overall I’d pay it again because the experience was so great. The only part I was a little underwhelmed with was the rooftop bar, it closed at 9pm and wasn’t lit up at nighttime like the decor implied. But it wasn’t a deal breaker.

Cons: The price is outrageous ~ rooms dirty , the tub had a grimy coating and blinds and vents had dust from weeks upon weeks of not cleaning, hotel staff not inviting , welcoming atmosphere was uncomfortable. No privacy in your room and very small rooms, walls are very thin, you can hear every noise in hallways, while trying to watch tv - cable was constantly going out. We work very hard for our money and this was our anniversary and sadly we wish we had left the first night and not stayed at The Vendue!!!! We will never stay at this motel again.

Cons: We used the Vendue's valet parking @$25/day. In their possession, my car was badly damaged. After weeks of no reply, they denied responsibility. Valet is in a public lot with NO protection. NOT RECOMMENDED. Also the shower in our room was USELESS.

No coffee, there’s a Starbucks off the lower lobby. Air conditioning appeared to struggle to keep room cool even at night. Woke up sweating somewhere in the middle of the night. Not the most pleasant stay of the many places I have been.

Cons: There were no foam pillows. The current pillows on the bed crush down and provide little to no support for my neck while I sleep. I also believe the parking situation should be spelled out clearly before the room was rented. The parking garage belongs to the City of Charleston and cost $20/night to park there. The added expense is not too much, but the surprise of the situation did bother us. We discussed it with other customers and they were not too happy either.

Pros: Location was great and the staff was prompt and courteous.
Cons: This hotel was not a four star hotel. The room should have been larger and with more closet space. Door security was inadequate and no parking was mentioned. Had to park public payed parking across the street $20.00/day.

Cons: Having never visited this area before, it would of been nice to have someone to talk to about tour recommendations, restaurant selections, and more. Our single staff member was too busy serving happy hour and checking guests in for us ask.
