Pros: We had requested two queen beds. We got two full beds. The bathroom was beautiful. Plenty of towels . The bar was great and the restaurant good!
Cons: There should be more water available. Many hotels have water in the lobby . More seating in the lobby.

Pros: Location is great - convenient walking distance to all areas. The larger room is perfect for two friendly staff the breakfast is very good and convenient the daily wine and cheese is an added plus! paid parking is convenient
Cons: when we arrived - the small room we had smelled very moldy - we went back to the office and they gave us a better , larger room our room was in the inner core - so no windows - the good news was that it allowed us to sleep longer in the morning

Pros: The beds were comfortable and the cable television selection was exceptional. The complimentary breakfast was above average.
Cons: There was no blackout curtain for the window only a sheer curtain. Also, the lighting in the room was very poor, and there was no vent in the bathroom
Good6,5
Pros: The cleaning staff was very nice, approachable and helpful.
Cons: Smelled like smoke at each of the entrances. The staff at the front desk was not very friendly.
Excellent8,0
Pros: I especially liked the shaving mirror in the bathroom, which was perfect for makeup as well. A very plus. Also, the lighting in the bathroom was very adequate for applying makeup and doing hair. Most places are so dim.

Pros: Location!
Cons: A bit tired, could use the next update. Will definitely stay again.
Mediocre2,0
Cons: The hotel is dated and worn out. The rooms are small and very old. The bathroom is only large enough for one person and the plumbing is ancient. The hotel is overpriced for what you get. The manager was not at all accommodating when we didn't get the type of room we booked. I would never stay at this hotel again.
Excellent9,6
Pros: Fantastic location. Attentive, professional front desk. Elegant lobby and rooms. Very comfortable beds. Great views being one of the tallest buildings in Charleston. Excellent value, as rooms are $50-75 less than similar properties.
Cons: Parking garage is not attached to hotel, if using self park, must walk 1/2 block. Room decor is tasteful but 20 years old and while clean, is showing it's age ( I imagine this is the reason for lower rates). Bathrooms are extremely small.
Excellent9,4
Pros: I loved the location of the hotel, close to everything and just off King Street, the best shopping in the city. The rooms were spacious and clean, and hotel seems to accommodate a lot of people. The Swamp Fox restaurant was very good for breakfast. A wide variety on the menu with a Starbucks just outside of in, still in the hotel.
Cons: The hotel is very noisy at night due to screaming and honking of horns on the main road-and I was on the 7th floor. I wish the hotel had a free continental breakfast and that you did not have to walk a block to get to the hotel parking, which is the city garage.
Excellent8,5
Pros: Location Close to restaurants and shopping Friendly staff Old world charm
Cons: No fridge in the room Parking $16 a day
Excellent10,0
Pros: We had an amazing view from the 9th floor. What an exceptional stay in global pandemic
Cons: Not being under mask requirements
Excellent10,0
Pros: Great location - close to shopping and short walking distance to restaurants and things to do. The staff was fabulous and the room was great.
Cons: The water pressure was too low in the shower.
Excellent10,0
Pros: Staff was amazing and very helpful. The on-site restaurant has wonderful breakfast!
Cons: Broken closet door in entry hall would swing into the path of the room door. There didn’t appear to be a vent in the bathroom. The 2 person elevator policy does not work when you’re at 100% capacity and it is busy.
Excellent9,7
Pros: Clean, large room and lobby. Friendly staff. Front desk didn't text me as promised when room was ready, but otherwise ok.
Excellent8,0
Pros: The hotel was in a good location. The Bell staff was exceptional Check in was a breeze. Rooms were clean but a bit older.
Cons: Older small bathroom A/C that made loud noises randomly. This is not a modern hotel...but that's not all bad.
Excellent8,3
Pros: Excellent location. Clean, but an older property showing its age in some respects. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: Small bathrooms. Comfortable but not luxurious. With two double beds in the room, you couldn't open the bathroom door fully. That was pretty ridiculous to have to enter sideways.
Excellent8,0
Pros: good location
Cons: They upgraded our room because they didn't have the original room we booked upon arrival. We were staying 5 days. after two days they kicked us out of the upgraded room and moved us to a room half the size saying that the room they upgraded us to was already booked beyond our current stay. This put a damper on the remainder of our stay at the hotel due to the room being a little too small for two people Also the other guest in the hotel that had business meetings were very rude and arrogant and continually blocked the top of the stairways coming up to the main lobby.
Good6,8
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Paying for parking, no coffee in lobby, no free breakfast
Excellent10,0
Pros: Great location, beautiful hotel but more importantly fantastic customer service. Our room was not ready at check-in and we were willing to wait a few minutes. In under 15 minutes they had us checked in and gave us vouchers for free drinks and appetizers at the hotel restaurant. The breakfast buffet was scrumptious (at Swap Fox) and had a great selection. Plus it conveniently had a Starbucks on site. Will definitely be back!
Okay4,8
Pros: Location was great and so were the bell hops
Cons: The rooms where old. Bathroom was the size of a closet. Front desk staff was rude.
Excellent10,0
Pros: The Frances Marion is to Charleston what the Peabody is to Memphis, the Edwards is to Jackson, Miss., and the Reed House to Chattanooga. All are hotel with history and character. More than that, all the staff at the Frances Marion could not have been nicer.
Cons: Liked it all.
Excellent10,0
Pros: Cleanliness. Location.
Cons: Bathroom was tight but clean.
Excellent9,1
Pros: Location room size
Cons: TV did not work initially, but was quickly fixed Toilet did not fill initially, but guest was able to fix overly expensive room rates airport shuttle forgot to pick us up
Excellent9,4
Pros: The beds were so comfortable and cozy and we did not hear any of the traffic on King Street on the 10th floor. It was very clean and our view was great. Could not beat the ideal location in Charleston plus a great parking garage. Very nice staff and overall it was a great experience. I will book again very soon.
Cons: The bathroom we had was very small and reminded me of a cruise ship but we were only there for two nights so it was not a big deal with my daughter.
Excellent10,0
Pros: The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant to speak with. Rooms were well kept, and the location is wonderful. Everything in downtown Charleston is a 15 minute walk or less away, and the free city trolley has a stop right across the street if you would prefer not to walk.
Cons: My only complaint would be that the parking is a little hard to find, but it is very secure and was a small issue, nothing to worry about.
Excellent9,7
Pros: Very good location, convenient to all downtown activities and historic features, clean, traditional atmosphere, courteous staff, reasonably priced, built-in restaurant and very interesting and sociable host with a foreign accent.
Cons: January 5 was a cold night and the room was chilly with no extra blankets, and the thermostat didn't seem to help. The cost for parking in the adjacent garage seems a bit excessive two half days and one night $17. Kind of like the golf course with $5 green fees and $50 golf balls.
Excellent10,0
Pros: Good location. Nice furnishings, decoration. Friendly staff.
Cons: No refrigerator
Excellent10,0
Cons: Elevators are 1920s size so there small with luggage but the hotel is gorgeous and embodies the Charleston spirit
Excellent8,2
Pros: Bedding was comfortable and overall furnishings were updated

Pros: Perfect location and an art lovers dream.
Cons: The room could have been cleaner
Excellent10,0
Pros: Clean, friendly staff, perfect location!
Cons: Wifi was spotty
Excellent8,8
Pros: Location, ambiance; roof deck
Cons: No Fitness area; limited toiletry selections; a little noisy ( it's old); you will pay a lot!
Excellent8,2
Pros: The location cannot be beat--the art throughout adds to the atmosphere of the hotel.
Cons: Bed too high up--I needed a stepladder to get in--the hardwood floors were shined and polished so much that I thought I would slip and fall.
Excellent9,4
Pros: Location was excellent. Walk to many restaurants, the waterfront, carriage rides and an open air market. Wonderful service from everyone there. Rooftop bar was fun!
Cons: It was very expensive, room was tiny, no views
Excellent9,7
Pros: The overall vibe, from the room decor to the customer service was outstanding. Everything was clean, the room was better than expected, and the whole hotel was fun to walk through and view the artwork. The customer service across the board really made the experience though. Everyone was fantastic and eager to assist!
Cons: Only two minor strikes. The bed was almost too comfortable. It was extremely soft and the pillows were softer. The rooftop bar was an awesome experience in the evening, however we arrived for lunch the first day and over half of the menu was unavailable at the time.
Excellent9,4
Pros: Excellent staff
Excellent10,0
Pros: the vendue was wonderful. the staff were firefly and helpful and the room was very comfortable and well appointed. the location was also great. if you want even more character it may be better to say in the 26 vendue building but the advantage of 19, where I stayed, was that amenities were closer.
Cons: Wait staff could be friendlier at these prices
Excellent9,7
Pros: really lovely hotel. The service is what stood out the most to me. Every single person I encountered was top notch (even more so than some internationally-known hotels I have stayed at). Even when there was a tiny issue with my room service (more on me for being picky) - there was no attitude from anyone, everyone was happy to make an adjustment. The replacement meal came in less than 10 minutes with apologies from the chef even! (And the meal was delicious, btw) I even received a follow-up call from reception about 30 minutes after I got to my room to make sure everything was ok. That's never happened to me before. The room was beautiful--dark wood floors, large four-poster king bed, updated bathroom. Top notch service, great location right by the waterfront and some amazing restaurants.
Cons: Noise: the wood floors are so beautiful, but that means you have to hear your inconsiderate neighbors clunk around on their floors with their shoes on. Perhaps a very sweet note when guests check in (or in the room) that while the floors are beautiful, please be mindful of your neighbors and take your shoes off while in the room." Also, in the morning I could hear everyone's conversations from the hallway very loudly! Size of Room/Bathroom: this is with the caveat that I had a very low rate that provided me with one of the more standard rooms, so it was not necessarily unexpected. For what I paid, it was a decent size, bathroom just decent size as well. If I actually planned to do work while there, I would recommend getting a bigger room as mine did not have a desk.
Located in Historic Charleston, this romantic hotel is within a 5-minute walk of Gibbes Museum of Art and Charleston City Market. Waterfront Park and Port of Charleston Cruise Terminal are also within 10 minutes.

Pros: There was great live music in their garden at night! We had light food and drinks there which were excellent. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the gym was better than average. Service was excellent.
Excellent10,0
Pros: The staff was friendly and accommodating. There was construction going on and they could not have been more pleasant.
Cons: I couldn't stay longer. This is the best hotel I the peninsula .
Good7,6
Pros: Great location. Cool building. Nice restaurant staff.
Cons: Checking in did not go well. We arrived at 1:30 and were told the room was not ready and we should come back in an hour. We came back at 3:30 and the room was still not ready. Then when we got to our room, they lost our bag tag and it took over an hour to bring our bags to the room. We also didn't get the king size bed, but instead two doubles. They weren't very apologetic about it all either. They charged me $0.50 for a call to the 1-877 help number for wifi issues. Parking wasn't great either.

Pros: I love this Hotel! It's right in the middle of historic Charleston. You can walk everywhere. The rooms are beautiful, but not huge. Very active bar.
Excellent10,0
Pros: Loved the complimentary champagne served at check-in and the hotel bar had an excellent selection of small plates and great service
Cons: Wish we could have stayed longer!
Excellent8,3
Pros: Location, comfortable beds
Cons: Size of room could limit longer stays
Excellent8,2
Pros: Very nice lobby, staff helpful, and food was tasty.......good location
Cons: Difficult to check in as no place to park.....rooms small for price.....no refrigerator......limited counter space in bathroom
Excellent9,4
Pros: The hotel is very unique and has a great smell?! Not sure what that is, but great touch! Lots of uniqueness and beauty. Room was clean and spacious! Bed very comfy with great pillows! Close to sooo many great shops and restaurants! Would stay again and recommend for many reasons.
Cons: Housekeeping staff tried entering our room at 8:30 am (check outs not until 11, and we had previously requested a late checkout of noon). She knocked one time, lightly. We didn’t even get a chance to get up from bed, get decent and answer the door before she was already entering. This is not ok. Also, upon arrival the front desk staff and manager were conversations amongst themselves, not even greeting us or talking to us. Just amongst each other and getting us checked in. No welcome words or conversation. Like we were an inconvenience to their conversation.
Excellent9,7
Pros: Beautiful old hotel in the heart of the historical district. The location was perfect for restaurants and sightseeing. The staff was very friendly and the outdoor pool was an added perk! Easy all day parking in neaeby lot. Bed was very comfortable!
Cons: I hated the sliding door to the bathroom. It didn't offer much privacy but I find many boutique hotels favor them these days.
Good6,0
Pros: The location was convenient, the staff was friendly.
Cons: The ventilation in the room was poor. The bathroom smelled like cigarettes likely coming from a neighboring room or one below. The mattresses are worn out and requiring the guest to remember to schedule house keeping the night before doesn’t seem like much of a service. It was also disappointing to find out that the only place to park at the hotel was the parking garage behind the hotel which runs you about $20 per day and isn’t comped by the hotel. Overall the hotel seems very elegant when you enter the lobby, but other than the main floor everything else is worn out and in need of an update. The value of the suite level room didn’t match the price paid.
Excellent9,3
Pros: The bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept in. Room had a nice updated look and great bathroom amenities. Our room overlooked the gorgeous courtyard & pool. Fantastic location on Meeting Street close to great Charleston restaurants & nightlife. Complimentary Starbucks coffee in the early morning.
Cons: No complaints! Would love to stay here again
Excellent9,7
Pros: Everything! It was really a nice place to stay. Beautiful historic interior. Beds were comfortable, staff was wonderful.
Excellent9,6
Pros: beautiful and charming boutique hotel with the ammenities of a larger operation. Very nice staff
Excellent10,0
Pros: I loved the complementary champagne, gorgeous pool surrounded by flowers & superb location. The friendly professional is very welcoming.
Cons: The bathroom doors are sliding & did not give the feeling of full privacy. The room was not spacious but very comfortable.
Excellent9,1
Pros: Location
Cons: Beds are tiny, had double queen room and they are just a size bigger than a twin.
Excellent9,3
Pros: The location was perfect - right downtown, walking distance to all the major attractions. Beautiful, historic building. Nice room, clean and well-decorated.
Cons: The pillows were too soft for me and all the same so there wasn't an option to switch out - that would be my only complaint!
Good7,1
Pros: The entire staff----everyone with whom we had any contact---they were all very helpful and anxious to please.
Cons: The room was not very comfortable or easy to move around in . Bath was very outdated and not easy to use. Not very competitive or modern
Excellent8,3
Pros: I appreciated the updates to the hotel, which I know some people do not like because they altered the historic character (I had not visited prior). Our room was very clean, linens fresh, and the beds comfortable. The location of the hotel is excellent--close to the great restaurants we wanted to try (like Husk, FIG), the waterfront, King Street shopping, and the Saturday market at Meeting and Calhoun. Our young kids loved the rooftop pool, which was VERY crowded with 20-somethings on a Saturday afternoon. You couldn't get a chair, which was not a problem since our kids wanted to stay in the pool the whole time. We only encountered a few staff, and they were helpful and pleasant.
Cons: The rooms are extremely small, which is typical in older hotels. Our room location was awful, which I didn't realize until it was too late (our kids were in bed and falling asleep). We were right next to the elevator bay, and we could hear people coming and going (very LOUDLY) all night long. Also, if you are given a room adjacent to King Street and you are staying over a weekend, you might want to switch to the other side of the hotel. There was a huge party (at the art museum, I think) and the DJ music was vibrating our room until past 10 p.m. This won't be a problem for you if you are out late and without kids, but it was a rough night for us.
Excellent8,8
Pros: great location, great view of the riverfront, very friendly and accommodating staff
Cons: paper coffee cups in room, walls were a little thin. the couple next to us were loud at all hours of the night. did not enjoy hearing them having sex!
Excellent9,4
Pros: Excellent location in the historic area, exceptionally pleasant staff, very comfortable beds. If you eat breakfast every day, get the breakfast package. This made our stay even more relaxing. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Cons: The bathroom was a bit snug. Price was high, but comparable for other hotels in the historic area.
Excellent10,0
Pros: Beautiful Hotel, professional staff. Met all our expectations
Good7,4
Pros: Excellent location! Walking distance to many highlights within Charleston—tours, Rainbow Row, Waterfront Park, markets, shopping on King St., and close to some of the most amazing restaurants. When staying, make sure you visit Eli’s Table (one block away) for any meal of the day! We enjoyed the hotel pool and patio area—clean, spacious and scenic.
Cons: While the location is excellent, and the hotel lobby & courtyard are visually appealing, the rooms leave much to be desired. Even with a balcony view, the room was a bit dark and dreary. Our tub did not drain for several hours after each use (but was fixed by a friendly staff member a few hours after I called the problem in. They gave us a room down the hall to use in the meantime). The sink handle in the new room broke and the water ran constantly. The walls are thin and you can hear all conversations. The guest service is hit or miss. We had great interactions with some of the staff who were both pleasant and accommodating, and other experiences with staff who were quite the opposite. Overall, I’d choose this hotel again for location alone, but if you’re going to spend a lot of time in your room, your money would be best spent elsewhere.
Excellent8,6
Pros: Hotel is convenient and within walking distance to every point of interest. Beautiful hotel with friendly staff.
Cons: As with a lot of nice hotels in the Charleston area, there was a big wedding party in the hotel lobby who occupied the entire area of the lobby and their one restaurant during the ceremony so it was difficult to get any food or refreshment at the hotel during that timeframe.
Excellent9,6
Pros: Location for sightseeing in Charleston was ideal, and the facilities were beautiful. Most places we wanted to see were within walking distance. Staff was very friendly, although service was sometimes a bit slow.
Cons: Wished the room had a small refrigerator to store leftovers from the great restaurants nearby.
Good7,3
Pros: Location
Cons: Small room with double beds, very loud
Good7,7
Pros: Location
Cons: Surprisingly the staff wasn't very friendly or helpful. They seems very aloof.
Excellent10,0
Pros: We visit Charleston often and this was our first time staying at the Mills House. It was beautiful! We stayed overnight and loved the location, decor, and the cleanliness. We parked in the parking garage and access to the hotel was very easy. This will be a place that we come back to in our future visits to Charleston.
Cons: Only small complaint I have was the pillows. They were fluffy until you laid on them, then they became flat and hard.
Excellent8,2
Pros: Location and style
Cons: Breakfast and parking not included
Good7,7
Pros: Convenient to wedding events as we were able to walk to the church and reception. The location is great for everything in the center of Charleston as far as dining and shopping. The hotel lobby and common areas have a lot of charm, and the rooms are adequate and comfortable, but small.
Cons: Rooms are on the small side as are the bathrooms. Our room was on the second floor and all we could see was scaffolding outside our window. The valet staff was a little inattentive.
Excellent8,2
Pros: Oerfect n location in the heart of downtown Charleston. Very nice historic hotel at a reasonable rate.
Cons: Renovation construction going on. Ask before booking to ensure completed.
Excellent8,8
Pros: Hotel is extremely convenient to everything - all within walking distance. And having a pool was definitely great at the end of the day spent walking or bicycling everywhere.
Cons: What I did NOT like was once a person booked through Kayak, the hotel would not help you with your room. I called the hotel prior to arrival to make sure I had a king sized bed as I requested but the hotel refused to assist me since I did not book directly with them. So although I again requested a king size bed for my wife and I, and for our married friends as well, through the Kayak booking agency - neither of us had a king sized bed but instead two double beds! And the beds were like marshmallows so you sink in them. While that may be fun for some but many of us like support under our backs. I informed the hotel of my displeasure and request for change; I was "yes'd" but received no change. So I now assume that the most undesireable rooms are avaialble on Kayak because it would lead to toomuch aggravation for the hotel to try to get the normal rate for them.
Excellent10,0
Pros: The entrance to the Hotel is tastefully done in a "Southern Charm". Rooms were somewhat small as the beds were full size and not queen size, however, my view of St. Michaels Church spire each morning and evening was breath taking.
Excellent10,0
Pros: Location was great! Nice staff, clean and pool was a great bonus :)
Cons: Would have preferred a fridge in room but not totally necessary. We had a great time so really nothing negative!
Excellent9,0
Pros: Very comfortable hotel room. Staff was incredibly accommodating allowing us late checkout for free and even extending it a second time when our flight got delayed. Very helpful for us with directions, recommendations, and ordering cabs. Highly recommend this place.
Good7,4
Pros: The hotel was very well-maintained and the staff was very friendly. The hotel was centrally located in the historic district.
Cons: Our room, a Deluxe King Bed room, was very tight on space, especially the bathroom. There was no vanity - just a pedestal sink - so there was nowhere to put any toiletries in the bathroom. The toilet was so close to the sink that part of the toilet tank was under the sink, which made it very difficult to reach the toilet tissue which was mounted on the wall between the sink and toilet. The bathroom was so small that the bathmat couldn’t lay flat on the floor.
Excellent10,0
Pros: Our family has made a holiday trip to an historic city a Christmas tradition. This year we chose Charleston and The Mills House. We loved everything about it! The staff was polite, friendly, and always ready to help. Guest Services Manager Alfonce McKinney made sure we had a great room with a terrific view. The location of the hotel was perfectly situated. We were conveniently located within walking distance of everything. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to come back!
Cons: There was nothing we didn't like. Great place!
Excellent9,1
Pros: Beautiful appointments; great staff
Cons: rooms too small; no counter space in bathroom
Good6,5
Cons: Bathroom should had been cleaner, hair on floor Bed not comfortable
Good6,6
Pros: Good location
Cons: Poor staff. Tried to charge me $100 for 8 place settings for the extra suite we paid for. We had paid for 5 rooms and a parlor suite and told front desk three times we needed place settings. We told no problem before I booked and the morning of the event. Then a hour before the event the banquet manager personally comes to the room and says he needs $100 before he can bring up the dishes.
Excellent9,6
Pros: The location was great!
Cons: Parking was limited and expensive. The price per night was a little on the high end for the size of the room.
Good7,0
Pros: Location, grand decor
Cons: Broken luggage racks (2) in room, shower water backs up in tub, immediately three inches to stand in while showering
Mediocre2,2
Pros: Small rooms, smaller bathrooms, no balconies, rooms badly need refurbished. Dingy looking. Not any nicer than a Super 8. It's conveniently located is the best that can be said for it, but at that price it's not worth it. Stay at the Wentworth instead, only a bit more for an actual luxury hotel.
Excellent8,5
Pros: Great Location Clean rooms Friendly Housekeeping staff Convenient Parking if not valet Great location to some excellent restaurants I would stay here again
Cons: Restaurant and Bar in hotel I would not recommend Service poor, house wine limited and poor, do not waste your time there are excellent places right out the door No mooring coffee available in the lobby or at the bar. Was told it would be set up by 6am, but both days nothing between 530-700am
Situated near the airport, this hotel is within 1 mile (2 km) of Charleston Area Convention Center, North Charleston Coliseum and Performing Arts Center and Charleston Tanger Outlets. Riverfront Park and United States Air Force Charleston Air Force Base are also within 6 miles (10 km).

Pros: Friendly staff, luxurious rooms, comfortable bed
Cons: Didn't love being in being in an outlet complex, but you can't blame the Crowne Plaza for its neighbors
Excellent9,7
Pros: I reviewed this hotel a month ago with a very negative feeling the management emailed me almost immediately wanting to correct their mistakes. We came to check in and the staff greeted us immediately room was clean food was delicious management met us on the last day to make sure everything was better than our last visit which it was.
Cons: Some noise reduction from the lobby would be nice and to clean the trusses from the lobby where it looks like mold is growing
Excellent10,0
Pros: The rooms are very comfortable. The staff was very nice and inviting. It is within walking distance of the Tanger Outlet and Walmart along with other stores. It is also within walking distance of many restaurants.

Pros: It was on the water
Cons: they did not give us a wake up call even when we asked for one and it was very dirty
Excellent8,2
Pros: Friendly staff, great view of the marina, river and city. Free shuttle into charleston 5 minutes to downtown. Restaurant was actually quite good, large portion ' s , nightly specials, friendly staff and good service and great view. Clean, but basis hotel. Good value for the money. I would stay again.
Cons: Traffic across bridge to charleston at rush hour. All of the bridges at rush hour.
Excellent8,2
Pros: Comfortable room...nice staff. Great mixed drinks!
Cons: No microwave in the room.
Good7,7
Pros: The location in proximity to Charleston. The view from the top floor restaurant was very nice. The waiters, hostess, desk people and assistant manager, all, very pleasant and accommodating. The room was very clean and comfortable.
Cons: Upon arriving in the afternoon on a Sunday, I found that only one elevator of the two was working. Thus, on Monday morning, I had to wait with my luggage 20 min., yes, 20 min. before there was room in this one elevator for me to ride to the lobby to check out. It stopped three times on my floor filled to the max with folks from a bus tour-The cable TV was out also Monday morning thus no news. I inquired about a courtesy reduction on my bill for these two inconveniences and the Assistant Manager could not have been NICER. She was very pleasant and apologetic and acted on my request-Thanks again!
Excellent10,0
Pros: The shuttle to downtown was amazing! The staff was great! Everyone was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Great location!
Cons: Better view of the water. Better dining options. Kitchen should stay open longer. You could get drinks but couldn’t eat after 9:30pm.
Excellent10,0
Pros: One of the best hotel staffs I've ever encountered. From the shuttle drivers to the people at the front desk, they were all extremely kind and accommodating. We originally stayed here for pricing reasons but I would recommend this to anyone staying in Charleston. Nice views just a bit outside the city. Long walk in or free shuttle ride/uber away. We had a great time.
Okay4,8
Pros: Love the location and view. Revamp your balconies to add romance, with maybe table and chairs or just chairs. Add safety screens and no chairs for rooms with children or just bolt their doors closed. Don't charge guest for extras like cofee in the room or toothpaste. Almost $200 a night and the only thing you don't charge for is an ounce of shampoo and tissues ? PLEASE!!!
Cons: Everything seemed available for a charge. Not much complimentary.
Okay4,0
Pros: The location was convenient.
Cons: The floor/carpet was filthy! My kids feet were black after just walking around the room.
Okay4,5
Pros: The room was clean enough, but that's about all I can say for the place. My room was on the back side, so my view was of the highway and the Waffle House, which didn't matter much because my balcony door was permanently locked, so I couldn't use it.
Cons: It's a poor choice If you don't have a car. The shuttle to downtown runs only every two hours, and often is over-full. When I was there I felt marooned, and once I got to town I felt I needed to stay all day.
Good7,7
Pros: The location was excellent for where I needed to travel to.
Cons: It would have been nice for breakfast to have been included in the price of the room.
Excellent8,0
Pros: Great view. The set up of the hotel was unique. The restaurant on the top floor has the best view of the river and waterfront.
Cons: The location was difficult to enter and exit because it is right between two highways with no entry or exit ramp.
Okay4,0
Cons: I had to walk up and down 10 flights of stairs for 3 days because they wouldn't fix their elevator. It was an embarrassment to bring someone with me and have to make her walk up and down 10 flights of stairs. The hotel has a restaurant on the top which also bewilders me why they wouldn't fix their elevator. This had to be a fire violation. I will never stay here again. What a joke
Excellent8,0
Pros: Holiday Inn Charleston - Riverview is well situated along the Ashley River on the edge of downtown Charleston. It's location makes it easy to get to downtown or wherever in the area you may need to get to. The hotel, iconic and well known in the area, is in good shape overall. It seemed to be well maintained and modern. You have got to also love the views offered by this hotel of downtown.
