Excellent location. Room was very nice and especially for the price. A lot of nice little touches. Very quiet in a noisy part of town. The staff was very good. The hotel is putting in the effort to make this a great place to stay. Lots of towels and they were good ones. Not cheap but thought value exceeded cost.
Nit-picky thing. A humidifier showed up in room but staff did not empty everyday so full alarm went off in night. Phones (2) did not work. All other things were addressed quickly or were not really a problem.
Close to town, beautiful hotel, comfy bed very good breakfast
Nice, well appointed room, large bathroom.
We had an awful check-in experience. Allison greeted us unsmilingly and coldly. My "hello there" was met with a stony silence (and it wasn't as if I had appeared in rags, enveloped in bad odor!). No greeting. No hello. Just a blank stare as if daring me to make the first move I had booked two rooms for one night. She informed me that she needed my credit card, and then inexplicably added "right away." I got the impression that she suspected i would run away at the crack of dawn without paying. She then apparently asked me for an ID. I didn't hear her so she again stared at me blankly for a while instead of repeating her request. My wife interjected and said she needs my ID. Ah ok. I hand over my driver's license. So much for Southern hospitality that is touted in a printed letter by the manager in the room. I requested for nice rooms. She proceeded to inform me that one of our rooms overlooked Market St and the other the parking lot. She said the hotel was busy and there was absolutely no other room available. As it turned out, one room did indeed overlook Market St and was nice. But the other room had a window that stared into a wall! Yes. There was no parking lot behind the window but an enclosed chute behind the faux window! Why would I want to pay $250 for a windowless room in a so-called luxury suite? So, back to the front desk to express my unhappiness. To her credit Allison gave us another room with a proper window. So the hotel was not full after all. Other reviewers have had excellent experience at check-in. Maybe mine was an outlier experience. Maybe Allison was having a bad day. Maybe she was tired after pulling a double shift. Maybe it was because of the color of my skin (not white). But all in all a very distasteful and insulting experience. Oh by the way, the room has "breakfast" included. But that's actually coffee, croissant, muffin and Danish kept on a stand in the hallway. Please help yourself.
LOVED the pool and upper dining area. Excellent location. The morning breakfasts were very nice!
It was a little noisy but that’s to be expected in that area.
Property was lovely and staff especially so. However as a solo traveller it’s hard to rate somewhere as good value for money when in essence I’m paying twice what half a couple would pay. Ok, I get twice the space but I think hotels should try and cater for solo travellers even if the room is small. Thanks however for a great stay
