Pros: Historical fabulous hotel not to be missed. We enjoyed the storytelling tour to learn about the historical background. The staff were very attentive. We had an issue with a loud air conditioner and within 10 minutes a repair man came and took care of it. Splurge and you wont regret it! The food was also outstanding.

Pros: I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed this hotel. You have all the amenities you could want from a top grade hotel, paired with a friendly/warm staff who make it feel more like a boutique hotel. The restaurant on the first floor (Harry Sasson) was also great. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Cartagena!

Pros: The location for the hotel was perfect. The hotel itself was beyond gorgeous and beautifully decorated. We stayed in one of their junior suites and it was amazing. It was spacious and had all the essentials. I'm very much into details and I loved the fact that they gave us two robes and slippers. Also, I liked the fact that housekeeping did their turn down service twice a day.

Cons: The staff was extremely friendly and professional. My only advice is that I think the wait staff should write down orders. They almost always got our orders wrong after we told them. We speak Spanish so it wasn't a language barrier. It can get a bit frustrating to go back and forth when ordering your food and I'm not one that likes to send back plates but it just made the dining experiences less than stellar. With that said, the staff was always pleasant and helpful.

Cons: Our room was fine facing the back but our friends had a room facing the street and it was very noisy. They heard the traffic and all of the maintenance vehicles all night long. They had to switch rooms and the second room was next to bar which was very loud as well.

Cons: Hotel charged us $300 dollars upon checkout for VAT & city taxes even though we booked and paid through KAYAK!! No bill was given!! No gym, no buffet breakfast, mediocre service simple room, simple shower, nothing special except the location. Won't recommend this hotel. Go for Helton or intercontinental.

Pros: The hotel is positioned well, with nicely decorated rooms, the view of the sea is nice. The Lobby is poor with mildew and mold odor, I was in the 16 floor, the corridor stinks, there is a permanent smell of burnt frying oil, of fried fish, fried eggs at any given minute of the day. The same bad smell hits you when you go to eat breakfast. If you have allergies or have a bronchial issues you will get sick from this air quality. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone no ever go back there

Cons: Encountered some very unfriendly staff. If you want to get one of the hotel beach chairs, be sure to be their no later then 07.00 hours to reserve them, otherwise they (15 pairs with an umbrella ) are all occupied... leaving no other option to rent them next door (25000COP). Roof top swimming pool does.bot have umbrellas. Breakfast is good in buffet form, also here be early, or its crowded. Elevators are mostly crowded and not very clean. Don't expect an European 4 star, more a small 3 star.

Cons: The area is a bit run down, buildings are unfinished so if your looking for something pretty then it’s a no go. All the food options in the area are fast food. I would advise to take this hotel if your looking for something functional, a stop for example.

Cons: I didn’t like two things, (1) the elevator is a chaos when you want to move over the building because the lobby is located in the 17 floor so all the time elevator is crowded and moving from one floor to another. (2) The access cards every days they erase and you need it to ya the elevator that sometimes read or not the card.

Cons: The Hotel is ordinary. Checking in was a nightmare poorly organized with little care. Girl started looking through my passport at check in. I was like what are you doing another lady stepped in and apologised 4 stars not at all 3 stars at best. Cons: I need the invoice for my stay at the Hotel, at the front desk just gave a receipt. I was on business trip, I need the invoice to report my expenses. at the check out, they told me they don´t have the invoice, where can I claim one.

Cons: the resort it so old, it needs a lot of work the swimming pool too small and the only had one. I have stay at De Cameron in Panama and el Salvador and that's why we choose this one thinking it was going to the same. We made a very bad decision. very disapointed

Very loud in our room due to openings in the door frame with no seals around the doors. 1/2 inch to an inch openings so much so light shining thru which of course sound flowed freely thru. Which meant noisy rooms. In addition maintenance was being done across the hall hammering and sawing noises!

Pros: I had booked another hotel, the Hampton’s by Hilton and I didn’t even checked in because the receptionist was really xenophobic and they gave me a hard time. I had to rush to find another hotel for that same night and luckily I found the Atlantic Lux, it’s not the fanciest one bit it’s ok and staff is amazing

Pros: Great hotel on the main road with lots of restaurants nearby. Not directly on the beach, just a street away. The pool was small but clean and nice to have. Sitting area in the sun and under shade. The buffet breakfast was good with fresh fruit, juice, scrambled/hard boiled eggs, empanadas, bread, and cereal. The room was small but clean with a big window. AC worked really well and the bathroom was great with a big shower. There is a casino on site and we looked around but didn't spend time there. Seems nice.

Cons: The room didn't have ventilation so there was a slightly smell of humidity. Also the room's door didn't have a proper key card, the system broken so I had to use a metal key for the door and a card key for the electricity into the room.

Cons: First room was dirty, with blood stains, even the shampoo had drops of blood inside. They changed us to a bit better room, but it was not possible to control the airco, so it was very cold and my daughter was getting sick. Rooms were old, place has bad decoration, was dirty, food was okeysh, not great, not good, not bad. There were no refunds.
