9,6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was simply superb,
Cons: The only drawback really is that the hotel is quite a hike (along winding roads) to visit major touristic sites in the area.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Nice place to rest
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The whole hotel was amazing but the choice of restaurants and free exercise classes were highlights
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place, nice and helpful staff, accompanied by great food. We had the feeling of being really taken care of.
Cons: Nothing. I would only slightly improve the beds which were a bit small.
6,3 Good
Pros: Amazing location and the three and one star restaurants are fantastic. Food quality is superb.
Cons: The hotel let’s itself down. Unorganised every day at breakfast (they kept forgetting we had a table). You also need to book any of the facilities including spa and restaurants months in advance - which you are not told of at the point of booking. Also note that while the restaurants do accept Amex the hotel bizarrely does not. Uncomfortable beds and extremely noisy at night as there are events on.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Big spacious lovely
Cons: Have to be naked in main spa
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Spacious and stylish rooms. Quiet, peaceful. Great place to rest. Great service. Great food!
Cons: Overpriced. The check in service was not great.

Cons: It`s a massive hotel with many restaurants but the staff still had a personal touch.
7,9 Good
Pros: Very good Michelin 3 star restaurant with relaxed service , but very knowledgeable and professional.Good wine list .
Cons: Room towels were hardly fluffy , more like a hair shirt!

9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very good value for money, and I was treated very welcoming. Good restaurant.
Cons: The parking is a bit difficult to use for long cars.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Both the restaurant as the neighbouring bar served excellent food. We also loved the selection at breakfast. The staff is very friendly as is the beauty therapist. We stayed for 4 nights which was long enough for us to explore the area including a visit to Baden-Baden.
Cons: It would have been nice to have a kettle in the room.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: We liked the environments of this hotel. This was a peaceful, warm and nice hotel in black forest. the room was very clean and comfortable.
Cons: It was more convenient if the room had a hot pot or a coffee pot, or a hot pot to borrow for the customer need. it is better If booking shows more direction to reach to this hotel.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Liked the location easy to find. Staff are awesome...very accommodating. Place is clean...loved the ambience of the hotel...very cozy. Room had balcony, big windows, lighting was good. Nice sitting area in room, bathroom had tub/shower combo.
Cons: No fridge in room. Parking...if you are not there early, you have to park on road and the later you arrive the farther from hotel you may have to park Parking lot is very small. For the location of our room, there was lots of traffic, as it appeared that our balcony was on a feeder street up the hill for the local residents.
7,5 Good
Pros: The location was excellent for hiking. The breakfast had a good choice although too many 'white' bread buns were available with the nice brown, seed buns rather rare.
Cons: The bedroom and bathroom were a huge disappointment. I have not seen an avocado bathroom suite with shower curtain since the 1970's. The bedroom was big and clean but depressingly old-fashioned fittings, carpet and one curtain missing. The room did not at all reflect the price of the hotel. I have stayed in over 20 hotels and guest houses in the Black Forest and never had a room and bathroom as ugly as this one. The hotel needs to invest in a re-vamp.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Large room, Breakfast, Large bathroom, almost everything
Cons: The wifi was not very good. Also as a matter of taste and habit, we did not like the location of the TV, which was at the side of the bed and not in front. We couldn't use the TV as a result.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good, but a surprise to pay for it.
Cons: We liked everything especially the service from Susanna.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Superb hotel with great staff. I had a single room and it was large, with a balcony. The restaurant was very good, inc breakfast. A good centre for exploring the Black Forest by car or train.
Cons: A little less snow!!!!
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast, nice flowers outside, friendly staff.Good games and playroom.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the window boxes and balcony for our room. The convenience of the restaurant and bar were an added delight. The staff were helpful and friendly. There was parking under cover right behind the Gasthaus. Would return again if we could.
2,7 Mediocre
Pros: There are limited parking lots available on a first come first serve basis. It was lucky for me to get one lot. It is even more lucky to get a room at same level as the carpark. The dinner at the hotel was good, and the breakfast too.
Cons: The hotel is located up the hill and is not near the central of the town. The hotel does not offer drinking water for free, but priced a litre of water for 2 euro. Only the owner speaks some english. The room offered does not have view and is not in front like the one you see in the picture.
5,3 Okay
Pros: The food is very good
Cons: Car Parking is very poor as there are not enough parking spaces.
6,0 Good
Pros: The owner was especially helpful and explained exactly how we could get to a very nice walk fairly near to the Hotel and lent us a map to do the walk.
6,0 Good

Cons: It has limited parking spaces.
8,0 Excellent

8,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely....friendly, helpful staff. Super clean and comfortable. Nice food.
7,6 Good
Pros: Wonderful restaurant attached to the hotel. First-rate Black Forest breakfasts with "Laugenbrotchen" and "Laugenbrezen" - warm pretzel buns and warm pretzels, with an excellent selection of cold cuts, cheeses, muesli cereal, and juices. The hotel restaurant offers dinner too, and has a very nice Black Forest and Swabian menu, i.e. maultaschen, spaetzle, etc.
Cons: Nothing. Not a thing.
7,6 Good
Pros: Friendly staff,very good food.

Pros: .nice views from the terrace, friendly staff.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly hosts. Nice breakfast menu. Good evening meal alternative for those who don’t have a car and don’t want to walk to a restaurant.
Cons: It was just a bit out and up for a no-car couple travelling on trains. We are used to hiking so it was not a big deal. Rooms were a little noisy.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Pension Talblick is a jewel in the heart of the Black Forest. It offers a wonderful view of Baiersbronn, a filling, delicious breakfast and a warm welcome. The hosts were super friendly to us and shared lots of useful tips to make our stay really enjoyable. The flammkuchen in their restaurant is super yummy, definitely worth trying! If you travel with dogs, this is also a perfect place for them, you just need to pay a very reasonable extra charge. Our little furry friend got a nice welcome, he got a few treats, a towel for after walks in the woods, and a bowl for water/food. We are definitely coming back for a longer stay.
Cons: We missed that there were no complimentary toiletries (shampoo, body wash...). Luckily we were prepared and brought our own. Except for that, this place is really nice and great value for your money.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Wellness, breakfast, location
Cons: Actually nothing
9,6 Excellent
Pros: We ate in restaurant both nights and the good and service were fantastic and good value for money. The room and hotel were really comfortable with a good pool and a great location for exploring the Black Forest for a few days on our return from Italy.
Cons: We booked as a family room but reception had no record of our children. I think this is a issue but having seen other reviews with the same issue I think both parties need to sort out. However, it was all resolved with no issue just a little frustrating.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful room for a solo traveler. It wasn't large, but everything I needed. Also a very comfortable bed and the balcony was perfect to relax after a day of hiking. Next to the extremely clean room you have a very clean welness and a relaxing dining experience because of the friendly staff.
Cons: I couldn't lock my room from the inside so that felt a bit weird that strangers could walk in while I was sleeping.
7,1 Good
Pros: Our room was clean, big and comfortable. Nice pool and outdoor sauna.
Cons: Breakfast buffet a bit poor for a hotel category. Some room for improvement of food quality ( some tomatoes were over ripe) and arrangement as well (simple pilling of deli is not very attractive). On our day one croassons on first come basis! Boking half board was not possible, but we were recommended to eat a' la carte in a hotel restorant. Which was fully booked when we arrived from hiking in the afternoon. Unfortunately, yonug staff at arrival obviously forget to inform us about this possibility. Very unpleasant experience in a small village with scarce food offer! As outdoor sauna is really nice it is a pitty there is no cold pool only one feeble shower next to the empty barrel that could be easily filled with cold water.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was beautiful inside. Breakfast was excellent. Dinner menu excellent and all the food was mouthwatering- absolutely gorgeous!
Cons: Village of Mitteltal bit disappointing- very little there but fine once got in car and drove bit further. Only downside was too soft pillows and tissues and bin liner not replaced in bathroom one day although appreciate could just have asked and that would have been sorted.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent quiet location with great hiking right outside. Welcoming, friendly, and very helpful. Breakfast was good and the cakes were amazing, we tried 5 different ones! The restaurant food is highly recommended. We stayed 3 nights and every evening after a full day out sightseeing and hiking it was wonderful to return to a warm and comfortable house.
Cons: WiFi is not the best, but not really necessary. Pillows were a bit lumpy.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Great, personal service from our hosts - made us feel at home
Cons: Breakfast could be better. WiFi didn't work because of satellite connectivity issues.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Spacious room with a fantastic view! We got the Jr Suite while we paid for a standard room. No aircon but even at 38 degrees Celsius outside it was absolutely fine with the shades down. Loved the atmosphere, style, authentic, good value for money. Food & drinks from restaurant were pretty good, we did not really plan on it but ended up eating here 3 nights. Very friendly staff in traditional clothing. Breakfast excellent. Easy parking, walking paths few steps away, 400m from village with some Michelin star restaurants and shop with dirndl dresses. Great area. You really come here for the peacefulness, you hear the water stream from the small river down the hill. Wonder how pretty it will be in winter season.
Cons: Beds a little bit soft to our taste (but we like firm, very personal) and bathroom pretty standard but all OK!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast is perfect; the host even made us lunch packages.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: First class hotel and setting. Everything was perfect. My daughter and her husband enjoyed jogging and trekking around. We all enjoyed the pool and relaxed a lot. We greatly appreciated our dinner, quality meals, wine from the region (Baden-Württemberg). Outstanding breakfast in the morning!
Cons: Nothing although, unfortunately, the 2-star Michelin Chef was off when we stayed there. We will have to come back!
8,3 Excellent
Pros: This is an old establishment, very well operated as far as hospitality goes--warm, clean, traditionally decorated, and kind of romantically cozy with a good and comfortable athmosphare. The hotel was said to have been rennovated a few years back, expanding and renewing its facilities, etc. (nice gym and sauna area) however, we thought the room carpet could use a slight refreshing treatment. Overall was quiet and relaxing for the most part. Breakfast was rich with a nice assortment of cheese, cut meats, breads, fruits and cake--good coffee and great service. Location is convenient either with a car or without--you can get train tickets from the hotel to the nearest busy town around. Crew of working/service people was really nice and largely accomodating.
Cons: Be aware at the time you book your room: we booked a double standard room according to which we saw on both the hotel site and on The size of the rooms showing (when we viewed the type of room we wanted ) seemed spacious enough and right for the 5 nights we planned to stay. When arriving we were surprised to find no resemblence (in size) to what was shown for this hotel in general and in particular to what was shown for the type of room we picked! No mention and no pics show the small-size room we ended up getting!! (we will mention that intially we asked for 1 double bed (instaed of 2 combined), but the only room they had with such a bed was even smaller than the one we ended up getting--it was quickly relaized (by the staff too) that 2 people can't fit comfortably in there). As said, the room we got instead, (with 2 beds combined) was very small as well, did not face the forest but rather had a door to an outer courtyard shared between a few rooms. This was dissapointing considering the number of nights we came for, and the comfort we expected to be included within the price of 200 Euro per night. Also decievingly so, the printout of your booking will show only a picture of the bathroom (which is the same in every room) but won't show the room itself. Just pay attention to that because with no picture of the room you booked it is pointless to later complain; for that reason alone we decided to deal with what we got rather quietly and did not attempt to insiston a different/larger room.
7,1 Good
Pros: The pool was excellent.
Cons: Separate mattresses are suboptimal: It should be indicated at the booking There can be circumstances for an elevator to be (temporarily) out of order BUT in which case staff should take care of the luggage, incl. at the departure..
5,0 Okay
Cons: It does not meet our expectation, nothing at all. It is 2 star but they told is it is 4 stars. The pictures does not reflect the real situation.

Pros: Location was great. Hotel was clean and had a great view from the balcony of our room. Good breakfast available.
Cons: Due to unforeseen circumstances we were late arriving at the hotel and received a very frost reception. The owner waited for us to arrive which was great, however I didn't need a frosty attitude to our arrival after travelling through several unforeseen roadworks and traffic jams. The owner explained it was his day off but I feel he shouldn't have taken my booking or he should have payed for a receptionist to cover our late arrival. Due to the hotel night off we had no bar or restaurant facilities.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Superb breakfast. We wanted to leave early and our hostess was kind enough to prepare it a little earlier for us. It was also extremely hot when we arrived so the indoor pool was extremely welcoming.

Pros: What a delight! The hotel was full of character that only an enthusiastic family run hotel can do. Our first meeting with the hotel he thought we were Dutch which made booking in interesting. Pros: Well-preserved traditional site in charming medieval town. Great breakfast.

Pros: Stunning location with great walks right from the hotel.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is positioned close to the train station and to the well-known hiking trails in this part of the Schwarzwald. The restaurant is very good, with great local dishes and a good selection of local wines (and beers). Also very nice cakes. It is very well equipped, there is a pool, sauna, quiet room... Rooms are large enough for a small family with spacious and clean bathroom. The staff was very welcoming and helpful.
Cons: The only negative thing is the lack of an electric kettle in the rooms. Sure, you can get your coffee and tea in the restaurant but this (an electric kettle) would be more convenient.
7,1 Good
Pros: Clean, well maintained hotel, friendly staff. Easy parking.
Cons: No real bar... had to have a seat in the restaurant to order a drink. The evening dinner did not look appetising, so we decided to venture out and find a restaurant. It’s a very quiet village/town with very limited options. We found a tiny bar/Home cooked food place about 350m away. It was rustic and the staff spoke no english, but they were welcoming and had a laugh with us as we attempted to converse in Frenglish ! Food was fine, only one option for vegetarian and only ice cream for desert. It was an experience! People were smoking whilst we ate though.

7,1 Good
Pros: The quaint location on a hilltop which provided an excellent view of the valley below. The breakfast was basic but sufficient to provide enough energy to the start of a day.
Cons: The staff could have been a little more friendly. Not sure if it is due to language issue or they are just generally straight faced.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The host was very nice. The room was very big and nice.
Cons: The connection to th internet in the room was quite weak.
6,7 Good
Pros: The hotel is situated in a beautiful spot
Cons: Only around breakfast times there seems to be staff around which can help. Breakfast was quite basic, with a very limited selection of fruit and vegetables. The room needs to be renovated.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were all related and it was a very welcoming house. I felt at home.
Cons: It would have been nice to buy a drink at the bar and sit and watch the sunset, instead we purchased a bottle of wine. When we arrived there was no one to check us in for over an hour, however when they did arrive they apologised and explained the reason for their lateness.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent. Close to the train station and wonderful walking routes. The view from the balcony was splendid. Frau Faisst was very helpful and a really good host.
7,1 Good
Pros: Large room for family with separate rooms for Teenager and Mom/Dad. It was overall a pleasant experience as it was within traveling distance to a lot of the places while being in a quite neighborhood.
Cons: A few things 1. Toiletries could have been move helpful as the provisions were very limited 2. Breakfast table was being cleared by 09:30 - 9:45 already and lack of options during breakfast for Vegetarians / Vegans. 3. Personally prefer better pillows and the ones provided were very uncomfortable to sleep in.
