Pros: Excellent breakfast, and the owners went out of their way to accommodate my needs as a vegan. The property is beautifully situated, very peaceful but only a few minutes walk from the centre of the village. We had a very warm and friendly welcome. A huge, comfortable bed. Lots of fluffy towels, dressing gowns and slippers provided.
Cons: A small point, but there was a lack of anywhere to hang clothes in the shower room. The two chairs in the bedroom not really comfortable, and heavy to move (though guests can use the downstairs lounge).
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great House and location. Didn't want for anything. Our host Perry was extremely attentive. Room was large, had a massive bed and overlooked the garden. The bathroom was huge and there was an instant supply of hot water. Not sure how they managed that!
Cons: Was not sure about the single dining table? Fortunately all the other guests were friendly which did made breakfast an enjoyable experience. But could have easily gone the other way I expect had we not been?
10,0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful property located in amazing grounds. Walking distance to the local town which is a very quaint village. Staff are super friendly and so accommodating a very welcome change from the norm with a commercial location.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful food and host. Beautiful house.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable bed and country house furnished bedroom with kettle tea coffee making tray and real coffee machine down the upstairs passage if you wanted it proper coffee.
Cons: Personally I like a bath rather than a shower and the bathroom had only a shower, it was a perfectly good shower none the less. I expect had I asked for a room with a bath they would have had but don’t know the answer to that as I didn’t ask.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Location, upgraded room, staff.
Cons: Morning shower was not very hot or powerful. Perhaps I didn't understand the controls?
10,0 Excellent
Pros: clean, comfortable, good host and all you would want from a first class b & b

9,0 Excellent
Pros: Minimal car parking spaces but help was immediately offered to help with our luggage and park the car. Room was well laid out with all that we needed and we were lucky enough to face the waterfront so great views.
Cons: Can't think of anything as all seemed good for us.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Nice room, comfy chairs, good view, good reception staff, nice atmosphere generally. The shower was epic, even if was like being waterboarded :-)
Cons: Noisy heating system even tried turning it off. couldn't sleep because of this and made the following day pretty hard. Restaurant staff not trained/focused or aware. Food Cold. (Hake) Unlikely to use restaurant again.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Luxury surroundings and excellent service. Pay extra for a sail loft room with copper bath to really push the boat out!
Cons: Only issue we had was lack of hot water in the bathroom basin. However, staff were incredibly apologetic removed items from our bill as compensation.

Pros: Rooms clean , good shower and comfortable bed
Cons: No Tea coffee making facilities in the room , though they did have in the kitchen these. Didn’t expect to have to do my own breakfast at the price I paid . My own fault should have read more into the description The room felt cramped as I’m 6ft and our room was upstairs in the loft extension and you had to be really careful not to bang your head

Pros: Beautiful setting. Friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: The food was very strange and extremely poor value for money. I don't think I had one meal I truly enjoyed and had to send a few things back (barely cooked poached egg and a mouth full of fish bones in a mackerel starter. Also had a crab linguine for £25 which was served on a bed of mashed potato(?). Pasta was not well made and I left most of it. The food needs some serious thought.

Pros: I loved the location and the scenery. Self catering facilities were spot on. Staff were welcoming.
Cons: The bedroom was not clean enough. There were lots of cobwebs and dust behind the beds and in between the radiators. Carpets looked dated, and did not look like they've been hoovered. Found about four huge spiders in our bedroom and one on the toilet.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: We always love it here !!! Beautiful views of the sea and a great walk to Thorpeness. Staff are lovely and so helpful ... no complaints whatsoever !!! Xxx
Cons: Nothing to dislike.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: loved the location and the wonderful sea view . Room was clean and well appointed . Heating worked well and it was nice to come back to a warm room after a somewhat bracing walk to Thorpeness and back . Really nice breakfast was available in the grill , staff helpful and friendly
Cons: mini moans only : 1. would like to have been able to open the window in the room a little more as we find it hard to sleep when there is no fresh air coming into the room. We do understand however the need for safety 2. In the bar my wife ordered a Gin Martini ,now this would normally come with a couple of olives on a cocktail stick but here it was served with a twist of lemon. When my wife asked for olives the drink returned with two small olives at the bottom of the glass and an oil slick on the surface as the olives were kept in oil not brine ! I would say a pretty fundamental error on the part of an experienced barman .... who informed us that they don't have any other type .... rush out and get some !
7,0 Good
Pros: I liked the atmosphere.. quiet and relaxed but it wasnt too quiet nevertheless
Cons: Not much... if anything the rooms were a bit tired and the beds not as comfortable as some
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous location on the beach
Cons: Drinks are expensive

Pros: The Staff were excellent and Owner made us very welcome. We were greeted when we arrived and offers to carry our bags. I am disabled and could not fault their attention to detail while we were there. Thank you.
Cons: There was not much room in the bathroom area of the room we were in. Otherwise the room was great.
7,0 Good
Pros: Ease of entry.
Cons: No Cooked breakfast.
7,1 Good
Pros: Relaxed atmosphere, informal check in, comfortable bed and the room was nice and warm and cozy
Cons: The shower was disappointing, as the water pressure/flow was poor.
7,0 Good
Pros: We had a very pleasant room, for which our thanks, in an exceptionally well-maintained period house. Situation of Lattice Lodge was very good for the places/ people we needed to visit - no problem finding this property. Ample parking space at time we were there.
Cons: Unfortunately we hadn't received the latest check-in information so had no idea that there was no "reception", rather a self-service check-in. We managed to get our rarely-used UK mobile phone to work and Martin arrived very quickly to sort us out ! Having said that, I wonder why there's a general assumption that we all have a smartphone, internet on the move etc etc We were the only guests that weekend in the house, so we felt somewhat isolated ! We had looked forward to having cooked breakfast, but that's no longer on offer ! Still, the Italian restaurant Martin recommended was good.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The manager was really friendly and always happy to help with any questions. Really easy check-in/check out process even late at night. Clean, comfy with great parking and kitchen facilities. Would definitely recommend.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Martin was very welcoming and helpful. A very comfortable room with excellent facilities
8,0 Excellent
Pros: It’s was very clean. Comfy beds. We had the use of a kitchen if we wished but didn’t use it so can’t comment. The property was really good for one night and we had a very good nights sleep here. No noise.
Cons: You have a keypad so no one to meet you. There was also a cat roaming the property. We don’t like cats - we just stayed in our room so it was fine.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location and staff are great
Cons: Shower had really poor pressure after working just want to feel refreshed and clean

The property is maintained to a high standard and we would return. The dining was definitely a highlight of our weekend.
Cons: The bed was soft for our liking, but that is only a personal preference. We were in a front bedroom and we were experiencing high winds over the weekend (40mph) and the sign out front squeaked all night as it swung about.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was great and very welcoming to both us and our dog - staff are really helpful and being able to eat at a table with our dog was great. The food was lovely - great stay all round

Cons: The parking was a bit tight.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Superb location, friendly helpful staff, Food at Dinner excellent though I think they are taking portion control a bit too far. for Breakfast the Full English was great for flavour but a single sausage,1 rasher, a slice of Black pudding, 1 Field mushroom and a poached egg doesn't quite cut it for a full days bird watching in December.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice staff with a good warm room best steak I have had for a few years
Cons: Breakfast sausage should be better for this area
10,0 Excellent
Pros: A comfortable hotel in a lovely location. Very nice dining area and the food was good. We didn't realise we had booked a room in the annex but it was fine. In good weather use could be made of the seating area outside. A lovely pub very nearby with excellent beer.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike. Only a very small thing - too much salt added to some breakfast dishes. Particularly the avocado on sourbread. Otherwise it would have been delicious.
10,0 Excellent

7,1 Good
Pros: Beautiful old building
Cons: Needs renovation. Very reluctant to let us into our room early - unless we paid £30. Waited 45 mins for our cooked breakfast.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Extremely helpful lady on breakfast duty who let me have it half an hour before they opened. It is is in a beautiful setting and it’s a lovely old house.
Cons: It’s very hard to keep an old property in really good order and the bedrooms have some quirks so they can be a bit stuffy or draughty.
2,0 Mediocre
Pros: It was a very pretty building with a clear heritage.
Cons: For the price I paid for one night and the photos posted online I was looking forward to my stay. However when walking into my room, the ceiling and walls were peeling, the carpet was stained, the bath was peeling, fixtures and furniture were highly outdated. There was also a stale smell throughout the room. There was dust on the sides and furniture, and hairs on the bed linen. High price for what you are offered.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is set in a beautiful location with stunning gardens and lake. The staff were helpful, friendly and caring - nothing was too much trouble.
Cons: My bathroom let my accommodation down. It was tiny and had an awful smell that went away if I left the extractor running.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: V comfortable spacious room- junior suite for guests with dogs . Very friendly, helpful staff. A dog friendly place, essential for us. Would thoroughly recommend.
Cons: No dislikes
8,0 Excellent

Pros: Great hotel, great location. Loved the bar, restaurant and room environment, very relaxing. Stylish decor, great staff, comfortable room
Cons: Loud smokers outside, car park side (where my bedroom was). Not the hotel fault, just unfortunate and only happened 1 of the 2 nights I stayed
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, neat clean hotel with good amenities.
Cons: The hotel was at first good value for money when booking, but when you arrive the hidden charges appeared,. £8 for parking, then £20 for having a dog with you which I didn't see when specifically booking a dog friendly hotel, then the food and drink were very pricey for what you got, £5.30 a pint, £14 for a pizza, the add ons should be made more transparent. For what it cost us in the end to stay I could have got a dog friendly hotel in the middle of Ipswich for the same money instead of on the edge of town
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Perfect for a one night getaway in Ipswich
5,0 Okay
Pros: Staff friendly as usual, cocktails in the bar very nice
Cons: Definitely seems to have taken a turn for the worse, blood/red staining on the chair and carpet in our room, generally just starting to look old and run down
8,2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, walking distance to station and town center pubs and restaurants. Rooms are good sized and always clean. My number one choice to stay in Ipswich.
Cons: The ‘Free WiFi’ service is practically useless in the room, except in the early hours of the morning, i.e. 2-4am. It works slightly better in the foyer. In my opinion an improved ‘free WiFi’ would present a stronger incentive to upgrade to ‘premium WiFi’.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Very trendy, nice staff, excellent steak, if a bit expensive
6,0 Good
Cons: They advertise free WiFi, but also sell premium WiFi. Need to say more? The free WiFi is close to useless. Otherwise a standard business hotel. Nothing special.
7,0 Good
Pros: Staff/ room/food
Cons: Layout downstairs/ parking/overall look of hotel uninviting/ location poor.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the design and decor, the facilities and the service. The rooms were clean and well presented. The breakfast is by far the highlight and the ingredients were good quality and the the choice great.
Cons: Wasn't keen on the pillows. Only one proper pillow and if you like a plump pillow you might be disappointed. I am certain if I had asked the staff would have sorted it because they were very good. Across hotel there were a few very overpowering air freshener smells, possibly during cleaning though and not too bad. No other issues.

Cons: Could fault it at all

Pros: The property was easy to find and has free off road parking which is definitely a perk as alternative parking would be a bit of a pain. Staff were lovely, very accommodating and very welcoming.
Cons: The cleanliness of the room as a little off, our room had used shower packages left in the shower and a previous guests hair on the shower walls. The rooms themselves are a comfortable size and have all the usual amenities you would expect in a hotel room.
7,0 Good
Pros: Excellent location in the centre of a very pretty town. Under new ownership so change in progress. Comfortable room in a traditional English hotel. Parking on site. Good breakfast. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Cons: Have stayed here several times in the past and there were some issues with maintenance. Under new ownership so will be interested to see how it changes. So far there seem to be a lot of improvements.
