Excellent 8,0
Pros: Owners very pleasant and helpful.
Cons: There was a slight mix-up with the booking which meant I didn't get an en-suite room, but the management contacted me to advise about this, were very apologetic and gave me a reduction. In the event the inconvenience to me was minimal: I never saw the people in the next room who were technically sharing the bathroom.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: I've always liked staying here and have been here over 20times..every thing is good. 10/10
Excellent 8,0
Pros: I have stayed a couple of times there and always very satisfied. All aspects of my stay met my expectations.
Cons: Nothing.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: I chose Abbey guest house primarily because of it's proximity to the station and all the previous good reviews. It was quiet, the room was really clean and had everything I needed - comfortable bed, decent TV with a good choice of channels, a desk and lots of power points. The owners were also lovely. I would stay there again.
Cons: Nothing. It was all good.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Nice and comfortable...owners very polite
Cons: Nothing all goid
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Because of coronavirus they couldn't offer breakfast but the room price was reduced which was very reasonable. The room was very clean and comfortable and wifi was good.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.
Good 7,7
Pros: The owner was really friendly and helpful with all enquiries. The breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious!!!
Cons: The heating wasn't on when we went into our room but it didn't take long to warm up once we had turned the radiators on
Good 6,3
Pros: I found everything to my satisfaction. Mandy and David were very easy to get along with, helpful and attentive, but not 'over the top'. The accommodation was comfortable, clean and the guest house had a peaceful ambience, considering how close it is to a busy city. The breakfast was first class and nothing seemed too much for them when trying to ensure the stay was living up to expectations.
Cons: I have nothing to state regarding this, as everything seemed to be very well catered for.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: This was a very nice budget hotel. It was simply furnished, but it was clean, it includes a full English breakfast, the owners are helpful and friendly, there were nice extras (free wifi, TV with many channels), and it's close to the train station. I felt very comfortable and my room was large.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Very pleasant people.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: The hotel is a converted [large] terrace house with rooms that vary from small non en-suite singles to 2/3 bed en-suite. Cleanliness and friendliness were key elements of this hotel (plus a darn good English breakfast). It is close to the centre of Norwich and very close to the rail station. Be realistic in expectation, at only £29 I did not expect a plasma TV and bar in my room - there was a small TV in the room and a good pub very close - but that £29 did include the excellent breakfast.. I have stayed here twice, first time one night this time three, and I will stay again when I am in Norwich. Beware of old reviews of this hotel I believe it changed hands this year and the new couple have upped its quality.
Cons: nothing negative
Good 7,6
Pros: the breakfast wide choose

Good 6,8
Pros: quiet place, a very good staff very kind and careful

Pros: The most wonderful place in Norwich, so welcoming, the room was amazing. The staff could not have been more accommodating. Wonderful night, will be back.
Cons: There was absolutely nothing not to like. Amazing stay.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Staff responsive. High quality interior design and room facilities.
Cons: Central heating not working so the room was freezing. It took us to point it out then told to wait for half an hour whilst radiator heated up. Then chasing as radiator didn't heat up. Then chasing to be moved room. However, once dissapoitm my with service was pointed out, great customer service kicked in with card apologising, chocolate and money off bill.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Brilliant place... bags of character... outstanding breakfast.
Cons: What’s not to like?
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Location, style, room sizes, decoration.

Pros: Fantastic Breakfast
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Room was fantastic. Loved the comfort of the bed and the adjoining large bathroom.
Cons: My husband is vegan and we let them know in advance. They made a great veggie breakfast, but when he asked how they cooked the mushrooms because they were so tasty, she replied ... worcester sauce and butter...

Pros: Room was lovely, staff were helpful, breakfast was excellent. Would go back highly recommended
Cons: nothing

Excellent 9,0
Pros: building staff breakfast
Cons: Being told i was the only guest so would be alone overnight ( with a night watch on call) also left my phone charger
Excellent 9,2
Pros: The staff, the facilities and the general upkeep
Excellent 10,0
Pros: I received a warm welcome and my bag was carried to my room. The room was extremely spacious and rather grand. The bathroom was roomy and shining clean. There were some yummy home-made shortbread biscuits in a jar on the hospitality tray! The bed was uber comfortable. The property is very convenient for attending any show at The Norfolk Showground.
Cons: There was nothing negative to say - the owner and staff pay attention to detail and make you feel like friends but treat you as their special guests. The decor is lush, there are some charming paintings to admire and the building is altogether charming and well maintained.
Excellent 8,8
Pros: Outstanding service by very pleasant staff. We are served breakfast by the owner Richard who was very friendly. Meals were first class. Everyone involved with providing a service here had the right attitude to customer care. As an example we wanted to book a table for 4 for Sunday dinner but were told that the restaurant was not open. When I explained that we were hoping to have dinner with my recently disabled sister and her husband they arranged for the Chef to come in on his night off to cook for us. They went the extra mile for us. You can tell that this business is not part of a chain. We will be staying at the Stower Grange again.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: The room itself was clean and spacious- a little dated in some aspects but huge big bed and everything you needed. I dined in the restaurant in the evening and the food and service was excellent. Breakfast was also brilliant- the continental buffet could do with a little more variety but could not fault the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Very good food
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Great location and a very friendly welcome. Hotel layout is old (good) and very homely. Rooms large with comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. Evening meal was outstanding in all aspects - especially on the B&B&D rate. highly recommended. B'fast in the same category. Plenty of parking within the grounds.
Cons: Take care on driving to property, there is an IN and OUT. Not very clear at night.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The staff were very pleasant, attentive & most helpful. The room was lovely and all of the food amazing.
Cons: Having to leave
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Beautiful old converted Vicarage set back from the road. Excellent and friendly staff. Dinner was delicious and a good choice as was breakfast. A definite must when I return to Norwich.
Cons: Absolutely nothing!

Excellent 10,0
Pros: Staff were friendly and attentive
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Comfortable bed, spacious room, excellent breakfast, good heating, we liked the way the history of the building was presented
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Location and room superb. It was all very clean and the rooms were beautifully dressed.
Cons: Breakfast was pretty average and lacked attention to detail. Really not matching the quality of the establishment.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Large ground floor room, decorated in black and gold. Splendid floor length heavy curtains at the front covered the radiators, so we faced a decision, keep warm or be private? There were two well-placed chairs enabling us to watch some TV in comfort. A well-equipped bathroom / wet room. Nice dining room for breakfast beautifully decorated for Valentine’s Day, the default breakfast being a full English unless an alternative had been requested before 9pm the day before. This was a quiet location outside of the city centre but nice and close to the bus stops, so we could visit the city without struggling to park.
Cons: The bathroom light was triggered by a motion sensor, which was okay in the day but a bit of a shock in the night and the water for the shower travelled further than expected, so we had to make a mental note, not to pad around in socks.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Beautiful room and very friendly and warm staff
Excellent 8,0
Pros: The bed was very comfortable and slept very well, nicely relaxed. Breakfast again was very nice with the service being relaxed and friendly.
Cons: The shower door court the floor and would squeak at night
Good 7,3
Pros: The privacey that we were given, the freedom to come and go as we pleased, the facilities and relaxed mode.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: We stayed at Old Catton Hall for 3 nights as we were going to a wedding nearby. The history of the place was very interesting and the luxurious rooms were fantastic. Dianne the owner was very attentive and the breakfast were very good. We would definatley stay there again.
Good 6,3
Pros: Owner very nice and friendly, really good choice of breakfast, room very comfortable, enjoyed the numerous books on offer to read. Is a beautiful house.
Cons: I think the hotel would be more suited to the more mature person, but have nothing bad to say about it at all.
Good 6,7
Pros: Room faultless with all conveniences. Staff very helpful.
Cons: poor location for eating out; nowhere within walking distance.
Good 7,7
Pros: Old manor house with character. Bedroom was large, airy and tastefully decorated. On suite was excellent. Breakfast was individually cooked and very tasty, with fresh fruit, not tinned, available. Highly recommend.
Good 7,2
Pros: beautiful place, well kept.
Cons: the price of the drinks from the honesty bar.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Convenience - near to coast and Norwich - comfort and facilities in hotel itself
Cons: no
Good 6,8
Pros: 4 poster room , everything available from coffee milk to cold beers from fridge
Cons: bit noisy from grandkids and traffic and squeeky floorboards! [but added to charm]
Excellent 8,0
Pros: The frendliness of the owners / staff and excelent welcome and service

Excellent 8,0
Pros: The hotel has been drastically improved in recent years (decor particularly). The main bonus in staying here is the central location.
Cons: The bar is dingy.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Beautifully decorated room, old English charm, very comfortable, separate dressing area. Restaurant very good, had dinner one evening, lovely food, well presented, good wine selection. Good selection of food for breakfast also, from full English to continental. Free and convenient car parking at rear of hotel. Hotel very centrally located, ideal for walking to all the city attractions.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Very comfy bed, good parking and location
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Great Location , did not expect the rooms to be as modern as they were.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9,2
Pros: Very tastefully modernised
Excellent 10,0
Pros: When we arrived we greeted warmly and the staff made us feel at home. The standard of the filby suite was excellent. The food was exceptional, especially at the the prices sold. The drinks were standard and not over priced. The staff were friendly and attentive in departments across the stay. Would definitely go back again, lots also in the area to do.
Cons: More updated selection of drinks from the bar. More selections of gin , vodka and whisky as a base. More selections of pale ales and ciders. More of a selection of bar nibbles and snacks. The iPad is a good idea but didn't work. The alternative was using there app on my phone which wasn't an issue. And didn't really bother us, everyone these days can get access to the Android or iOS store.
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Great central location with free parking. Hickling Suite was beautifully decorated
Cons: Room was too warm. Snazzy iPad-controlled heating seemed to reset to 22.5C on a whim.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The staff is friendly and the onsite restaurant was fantastic! Rooms are modernized and spacious. Location is excellent. Couldn't have asked for anything more!
Excellent 8,0
Pros: A comfortable recently modernised hotel in a delightful inner city location with a free car park, Also the restaurant is excellent and the staff generally helpful and courteous.
Cons: Nothing! It ticked all our boxes.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Excellent location lots of original feature
Cons: Leaving
Okay 5,7
Pros: The helpfulness of your staff was certainly appreciated and available when needed. Also a pleasant bathroom.
Cons: Our bedroom could have been more comfortable and a large stain on the carpet on entering did not give a good first impression. The duvet was most comfortable but softer pillows would have been nice.
Good 6,8
Pros: The Paston room was excellent, but the key fob did not have the room name on it, just the number which confusingly was 412 even though the room is on the second floor.
Good 7,0
Pros: Hotel is very conveniently located. Has own car park. Rooms are clean and comfortable and well equiped.
Good 6,8
Pros: proximity to city centre
Cons: $review.cons
Good 6,0

Pros: In the centre of Norwich - right by the cathedral and excellent choice of pubs and restaurants etc. Near good shops and The Forum
Cons: A minor point was that the foyer internet access did not work. The room was cold at night due to a problem radiator but they supplied a room heater

Excellent 8,0
Pros: Clean comfortable room. Helpful staff. Plenty of parking.
Cons: Nothing really.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: The outstanding feature of this hotel is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The receptionist very kindly found me a double bedroom on the first floor as a replacement for my originally-booked single bedroom which was on the ground floor and quite near the restaurant bar so I was concerned about noise and security. This change was made at no extra charge which I very much appreciated. The room was very clean and warm with excellent wifi. The breakfast is also exceptional - a long and generous menu, nice gluten-free bread and lovely staff. Great location for the UEA campus area.
Cons: Better quality (or newer) bed linen would have been nice.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: I found bed extremely comfortable (- I have a bad back). Really good sized twin room with a very pleasant view. Nice that hot chocolate sachets provided in room - suitable for teenage guest! Reception staff all very friendly as were all but one member of staff in the bar area. Reception staff happy to look after our case while we went out for day on our last day. We were made to feel very welcome. Very comfortable surroundings in hotel. Facilities generally very good. Very good location, just off the main road but with buses into city centre close by. Short and therefore cheap cab journey back in the evening. Would stay again.
Cons: Smell of damp as you entered room; didn't notice it once in. Couldn't be helped that drilling going on outside bar restaurant as extension being built.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Everything!
Excellent 10,0

Good 7,3
Pros: Good, friendly staff. A clean and comfortable hotel ideally situated to visit the city.
Okay 4,8
Pros: Clean room with good bar facitities and friendly staff.
Cons: Room was far too hot even with radiator off. We had to sleep with window open wich was not a great feeling because we were on ground floor. Also the rooms were noisy with other guests well into nigt and airconditioning/heating running.
Okay 4,7
Pros: Didn't spend too much time at the hotel but the staff were helpful.
Cons: Couldn't trun off the central heating properly so the room was roasting. A member of staff had to disable the radiator (which they did promptly)
Good 6,0

Pros: The breakfast staf were wide awake and cheery even in the morning!! i certainly wasn't!
Cons: Although requested non smoking my room was the only 1without no smoking sign.I think thats why i had a pervading smell of airfresher.
Mediocre 3,6
Pros: The staff was very nice and helpful.
Cons: The room needed urgent updating. Specially the bathroom. No minibar. Above all, they put a perfume in the rooms and corridors that is so strong that makes you sneeze. The bed is not comfortable.

Cons: No food was available as you arrive, restaurant shuts as you are allowed to book in also room service stops very early

Excellent 10,0
Pros: Very comfortable hotel in a very convenient location to Norwich City College. Good breakfast, very clean rooms, luxury feel throughout and nice staff. Can not say anymore!

Good 7,0
Pros: Nice friendly staff. Nice food.

Excellent 10,0
Pros: Location excellent. Short walk to city centre. Staff very frendly.
Good 7,3
Pros: Reception staff were very friendly and helpful before and during our stay. Food/bar was good.Room had a bit of character and was very comfortable.Nice atmosphere.
Good 7,7
Pros: It was within walking distance to all attractions
Good 6,3
Pros: We often stay in Norwich and have tried several hotels and B&Bs over the years, both expensive and cheap. This hotel is the best so far! Our room had a spa bath rather than a shower, which was an enjoyable surprise. Hotel is three converted Georgian Grade ii listed buildings so ambiance was great if you like 'period' styles - and so much nicer that the corporate sameness of many 'chain' hotels! Good breakfast cooked to order and staff all very friendly and helpful. Only a 5 minute walk to the city centre so could leave car at hotel and save on parking charges. Only stayed for one night and didn't try the restaurant, but the menu looked very interesting with lots of dishes we could have happily chosen.
Cons: Very minor point is that the hotel is a "listed building",so non of the windows are double glazed, so you can hear the traffic going by outside the hotel. However, this didn't stop us getting a good nights sleep in the comfortable bed and shouldn't put you off booking here.
Good 7,0
Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful, hotel was family orientated.
Cons: Shower didn't work properly.
Okay 4,0
Pros: The decor and location were pleasant and was well placed for the venue we were attending

Pros: private room space with garden outside. Easy access to parking and patio.
Cons: the patio needed re-doing next to the room was a garden rubbish pile never enough milk pots. why do hotels provide the little tubs? breakfast amount changed on the two days from good to fair.
Okay 4,8
Pros: Friendly staff. Close to City centre.
Cons: The quality and presentation was not as good as I expected.

Pros: The room was good and the food was excellent and staff friendly
Cons: Nothing
Good 7,5
Pros: Food in the bar was excellent and the breakfast was good.
Cons: I stayed here before a couple of time but a few years ago. However now I feel it’s lost some credibility and atmosphere.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: The staff were amazing
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Very clean, staff very nice and restaurant great with lovely food made to feel welcome
Cons: A little dated but comfortable
Poor 1,0
Pros: Staff where very friendly.
Cons: Rooms are very dated, bathrooms are dirty. We had a women next door to us dropped off by the social services due to some abuse then the partner turned up shouting and arguing in the night. We had stayed at another local hotel about 400 yards away the week before costing nearly £100 pound less for the week and it was beautiful. I would advise to stay clear of this 1.
Good 7,5
Pros: Good price and just were I needed to be
Cons: A little dated, remote held together with cello tape

Cons: The bed was too hard. It needs a mattress topper.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Classic, airy and bright room located a pleasant 20-30 minute walk from Norwich city centre. The check-in and check-out process was very easy, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast basket provided in the room was a nice touch and made for an easy start to the day.
Cons: Some of the facilities were a little tired. The overhead 'rainfall' shower head would have been a lovely touch in a spacious bathroom, but unfortunately the head was cracked and so instead of a gentle shower of rain it was more like an out-of-control high-pressure jet. The bad was also quite soft, might have been OK for some but was not supportive enough for either of us.
Good 7,0
Pros: Perectly functional hotel with a fair sized room. Clean and tidy. Onsite carpark that was quite busy. Nothing wrong with it at all. Would recommend to others. Perfectly good breakfast in the room on arrival. Fridge in the room was a nice touch that you don't see that often.
Okay 5,0
Pros: Breakfast was very basic, could do with a greater selection. Room was clean and bathroom was a good size.
Cons: Food menu in pub very limited (burgers only) Not a good location for Norwich centre

Good 7,6
Pros: Very helpful staff throughout. Room was very good. Bar and resturant service exellent. Had a very good stay.
Mediocre 3,3
Pros: Nothing, it is overpriced and expensice for what it offers. The only plus is it is close to the airport and park and ride
Cons: Everything. No soap for baqth for time of our stay. No ligjt above bed for length of stay (5 nights). Very noisy very hard to sleep due to big mouth southerners smoking drinking banging doors until the early hours(4am). Poor parking arrangements due to moronic boxing event and the hotel being full of visiting knuckle dragging morons.
Okay 4,7

Pros: access available at all times to room, car parking, walking distance to town
Cons: Ensuite facilities were to small for comfort, I believe not worthy of 4star rating, as was food quality at breakfast! deep cleaning of some elements within room needed (extractor fan) also I would suggest needs uprating as condensation is affecting decoration (rm 16)
