7,9 Good
Pros: The staff was wonderful. The service was generally speedy. The menu was extensive and diverse.

Cons: TV channels did not work properly, bathroom a little bit tired but very clean no prob at all, would change OJ at breakfast buffet
10,0 Excellent
Cons: Beautiful common areas and the bedroom was large and luxurious. The warm greeting from the resident cat was the icing on top.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff, the staff, the staff. What a nice bunch of people.
Cons: Bed was a bit firm for our liking but that's just personal preference.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very historic. Built in 1633 and having many original features. Lots of atmosphere, real fires, cosy nooks and a lovely garden. Bedrooms are modern, attractive and with good facilities.
Cons: The view was disappointing.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the olde world charm and features of the beautiful building.
Cons: The price of 3 scoops of Ice cream was approximately £8 which we thought a little high.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely comfortable suite, very comfortable bed, lovely staff. My partner and i have had a terrible year with family issues and the death of my mum. I booked our stay at Holdsworth as a well earned luxury break and it ticked all the boxes for us. Thank you for making a difference.
Cons: The bar prices!!!
7,0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was nice with quality ingredients.
Cons: Given the season, the place seemed a little understaffed at times. Rooms rather small and I would say, a bit overpriced

1,0 Poor
Pros: Not a lot, complete waste of money.
Cons: To start with the bar which states 'open til.late' closed about 9.30! The sheets had makeup on them and I found a grey sock in the bed, which wasn't mine! The bathroom paint had been touched up with the wrong colour. The unappetising breakfast had milk swilling around in the bottom of the bag & 2 squashed muffins had seen better days. The room was about 42 degrees, nearly died of heat exhaustion. The wifi was unsecured and could see everyone elses devices connected!! Oh and couldn't find any staff around to complain to...
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous meal Spotlessly clean and well equipped. Clever and thoughtful design features. Wonderfully comfortable bed. Great breakfast. Can't praise it highly enough. Will definitely be back.
Cons: Nothing to dislike
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service and very warm rooms
Cons: Far from McDonald’s lol
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Nice clean room, very well thought out. Staff were very welcoming and nothing seemed too much problem for them. Would use again.
Cons: The breakfast basket left out by your bedroom door is a great idea but.... the milk in our was off. I am sure if the pub was open it would have been rectified and it certainly wouldn't stop us from using this place again.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed here as we were at a wedding at The Venue so the location was ideal for us. The staff were so helpful and friendly! We stayed in the small double, it was comfy and had everything we needed. They left the breakfast in a basket outside the door in the morning which I thought was nice. Overall lovely stay :)

7,0 Good
Pros: This place is typical of the old city-centre hotels that are suffering from newer competitors on the edge of town. I expected it to be more down at heel than it was. The things that mattered: staff, comfort, breakfast, were all fine. The decoration, carpets, etc could do with a refurb. But for anyone who likes to travel by train this hotel, and this kind of hotel, now represents excellent value for money.
Cons: There's a slight feeling of gloom and underinvestment.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly welcome, comfy bed, great value for money.
6,0 Good
Pros: breakfast super always plenty to choose from
Cons: the room is very dated and in need of a revamp but I am sure that many people before us have commented on this and the bed was very uncomfortable due to springs sticking out all over. The staff are always helpful andpolite keep up the good work.
7,0 Good
Pros: Nice breakfast. Very nice staff.
Cons: Dated decor
7,0 Good
Pros: Overall our two nights stay was good Room was very clean great value for money Right in the centre
Cons: A couple of points were no view from frosted windows room very dark, a lot of noise in the early hours on both nights. We’ve not been to Halifax for many years so didn’t know what was the best places to eat and drink etc. Reception staff were nice but would of been better if they would of tried to speak to us more tell us about things in the area.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Superior double rooms had large bathrooms and good shower. Beds comfortable. Reception staff extremely helpful and friendly, breakfasts good and freshly cooked.
Cons: Parking is the hotel's biggest negative, due to being in heart of town and not built for today's car volume. Staff have to help getting car into and out of the yard, and very keen to do so knowing the problem. Charge £8 per day. Alternative is on-road parking outside the hotel and around the area but charges start at 8.00am until 6.00pm; I hour max outside hotel, two hours max behind the Town Hall (50 yards away) shopping/entertainment centre nearby has pay-for parking, and Sainsbury's 400 yards away) has free 25hour parking. So if intention is to use car during the day, use free overnight street parking near hotel and pay for the hour or two before you drive off.
2,0 Mediocre
Pros: The location was convenient, some of the staff were friendly and efficient. Most facilities were as expected, wasn’t expecting anything amazing
Cons: The bed was horrendous, could hardly be used as a double bed. You literally sank into it, bending neck. It was small and when my partner lay on the bed trying to sleep the mattress sunk down. The radiator was on all night and couldn’t be turned off. The window had to be opened with difficulty and the noise from the town lasted nearly all night - drunks, fights and workmen very early on a Friday morning. God knows what this would be like on a weekend. Breakfast was mediocre at best, i left most of of mine - egg white watery on fried egg, dried up bacon, poor quality sausage, cold coffee after adding milk, warm orange juice.

Pros: Breakfast was very good. The Dining room was very stylish and welcoming. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The bedroom we stayed in was very nice and clean. The bed was very comfortable and the bed linen was fresh and clean.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Stayed for 2 night over new year. Staff polite and hotel lovely will be coming back at easter
Cons: Csnt fault the place
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful and friendly staff, excellent location over the road to the station, car park only 2 min walk from hotel over the road. My room was on the first floor so not having a lift didn't make any difference to me, I did see staff carrying luggage for someone who was on the third floor. My bed was really comfy, best night sleep I have had in any hotel. Great breakfast. I will definitely use this hotel again if I am in that area.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and welcoming staff throughout the hotel. Clean comfortable rooms. Hotel bar (nice surprise) serving reasonably priced drinks. Excellent breakfast. The hotel is in a great location for visiting Halifax with attractions in walking distance. We would not hesitate to stay there again.
Cons: Unfortunately we didn’t sleep well due to the inconsiderate guests staying in the room next to ours who argued into the night and then again the following morning not the fault of the hotel though.
4,0 Okay
Pros: Location good, staff friendly, free car park nearby.
Cons: Very loud a/c unit outside bedroom. Moved us for second night. Very noisy in general. Ancient cheap furnishings - like the 1980s. Broken plug in bath. Tired cheap bathroom fittings. Catering disappointing - no english mustard at all for breakfast. no 'real' beer in bar. Sausages needed a taste injection....

6,0 Good
Pros: Beds were comfy. It was clean
Cons: Bar shut at 8pm.
7,5 Good
Pros: Rooms spacious and comfitable good value for money. Rooms clean.
Cons: The breakfast on the 2nd day could have been hotter . The bar restaurant wasn't opened on first night. But undstandable straight after new year. Telly didnt work very well.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are a very good size and excellent value for money- £40 for a suite including wifi and breakfast. Wouldn't get a suite again though because it meant the tv wasn't in the bedroom and we like to watch TV in bed before we go to sleep. The welcome drink was a nice touch and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: The breakfast wasn't great, it was full English but pre cooked and out on hot plates etc- none of it was very nice as I think they used very cheap low quality ingredients. Still couldn't complain for the price we paid for the room though.
