helpful and friendly staff
Very helpful and friendly staff, excellent location over the road to the station, car park only 2 min walk from hotel over the road. My room was on the first floor so not having a lift didn't make any difference to me, I did see staff carrying luggage for someone who was on the third floor. My bed was really comfy, best night sleep I have had in any hotel. Great breakfast. I will definitely use this hotel again if I am in that area.
Staff helpfull food good
There was nothing I did not like at the hotel
being left to our own devices and not being troubled un-necessarily by staff.
Staff were overall very friendly. Location next to train station ideal for people arriving late. Food in the restaurant bar was good quality, although the choice was fairly limited.
Hotel is in a fairly old building so there was no double glazing in the room and there was some noise from roads and neighbouring buildings.
The hotel was comfortable and clean with a gteat view just outside the front door. A gteat place to rest your head from beautiful Yorkshire sightseeing.
The menu available in the bar was very limited and did not change day to day. It would have been good to have a couple of vegetarian options.
Have stayed there many times, it is convenient for the railway station and Halifax centre, some rooms are better and quieter than others, but the hotel is usually ok.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were dated but clean and functional.
Reception staff very good.
Breakfast staff bored and the whole breakfast experience was shoddy. This left a bad feeling after an otherwise very good stay.
The location was perfect, across from train station. The place was attractive and reasonably priced in the market.
There was no access to the internet, and the hotel staff were uninformed about where such access could be found. Also, there was minimal information about local community services.
The staff there were very friendly and helpfull.
The staff were very friendly and willing to joke around whilst being extremely efficient and eager to help. They went out of their way to do things for me, and did them very well. I had read online reviews from 2005 which said the hotel was grotty, etc., but either people have incredibly exacting standards or they have had refurbishment because the room looked just fine to me. 3 stars is entirely appropriate, I think.
