Pros: It’s beautiful! Quiet area. Peaceful. Feels like you’re on a proper break away. Lovely big room, great bathroom. Very good breakfast. Great staff.
Cons: I wouldn’t say ‘didn’t like’ at all, just a few points... Bed was a little soft, so we rolled together into the middle. Fine for winter though! Need water supplied in the room please. Take earplugs if squeaky floorboards bother you. Beautiful old houses do have these issues. Not a big deal.

5,0 Okay
Pros: Heating was more than adequate
Cons: The general standard of the room. Well below what I’m used to.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I stayed at the White Lodge from 22 to 26 November 2019, and was delighted not only by the warm welcome from the property's manager but also with the comfort, cleanliness and elegance of the house and its decor. It is traditional in style without being old fashioned, and tastefully furnished and decorated to an appealing, though not overly modern, level. Comfort and space is everywhere and the staff could not have been more attentive. My room was a double with a very clean, modern en-suite bathroom, HD television, tea/coffee making facilities, and a very comfortable bed. The room and BnB were pleasantly fragranced and always warm and homely. There are also many local attraction brochures in the hallway for the visitor. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide choice of cereals and cold and hot drinks, and a full English breakfast that was to me perfection in proportion, ingredients and quantity. The location of the White Lodge is also excellent. It is a short walk from the railway station and easy to find, and there are regular buses to and from the station and into Southsea and Portsmouth, with bus stops outside the BnB. It is also handy for bars, restaurants, takeaways and shops. In all, I was delighted with my stay at the White Lodge, Having already extended my stay there, I would not hesitate to return and would heartily recommend other travellers to do the same. Thank you, White Lodge, it was great staying with you.
Cons: Leaving such a pleasant, comfortable place.
6,3 Good
Pros: Generally clean through out. Value for money
Cons: Very uncomfortable bed, hard to sleep on also not wide enough can easily fall out. Very outdated
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Superb accomodation, very friendly owners, spotless, spacious room nicely furnished. Close to a busy road but traffic noise was acceptable. Highly recommended
Cons: Just a little pricey
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good, and plentiful. The location was as close as we needed, although on a main road not really romantic. Cleanliness was second to none and the complimentary toiletries were of a very high standard (as graded by a very fussy teenage daughter). The air freshener discretely placed in the bathroom was a very nice touch. Hairdryer and other amenities (fan, kettle etc} were all very beneficial.
Cons: Unfortunately the hostess was a little too formal as even after being told my name continued to call me sir. This was the only downside that we encountered.
7,7 Good
Pros: A lovely room and nice staff. Good location within half an hour walk of Southsea, Portsmouth centre and the docks.
Cons: Would be great if you didn't have to slam the front door to shut it, we came back quite late and tried to be quiet, but then had to slam the front door and probably woke everyone up.

8,0 Excellent
Pros: Met my expectations.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Lakeside room, and lakeside breakfast.
Cons: Requested twin beds, this was confirmed. We were still on the same bed. Not good for the one right next to the snoorer.
7,9 Good
Pros: I was very disappointed by the attitude of the reception lady when we arrived. The lady was very abrupt with me. You should not approach your customers who are paying very good money to stay at your hotel in this way. Also in our room there was a piece of paper with chewing gum stuck on it the cleaning lady made no attempt to clean it up. I’ve been here quite a few times but I don’t think I will be returning in the near future.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: staff were brilliant I wouldn't ask for better service especially when it came to dietary requirements, the staff cooked something for us that helped and didn't make us feel like it was an issue whatsoever. I would highly recommend and would stay again
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful staff - smiles & very professional. Room exceptionally clean. Spa was lovely especially outdoor hot tub. Excellent breakfast.
Cons: Would have enjoyed a fried egg with breakfast lol
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel and spa lovely staff and wonderful spa experience definitely recommend beautiful bedroom and grounds and spa beautiful
Cons: Nothing
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Hot plate at the breakfast is great idea, and breakfast it self was also good. Lakeview was nice, suite room was roomy and good enough for 2 people.
Cons: Drainage in the shower room wasn't good and I believe somebody must have forgotten to clean it up. Spa was fully booked at the time when we arrived, and considering it was our primary objective to choose this hotel, they could have advised us to book the spa well in advance.

Pros: Huge double bath and large bed, lots of room
Cons: We were actually moved to the Florence house hotel as they were building work in the number four hotel.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was delicious, the room was lovely and light with a comfortable bed and a clean en suite bathroom. Everything worked as it should. We even managed to park on the drive.
Cons: We were given one bath towel each, plus a hand towel for the bathroom basin. Personally, I like to use a washcloth for my face and a smaller towel for my hair, and I think most hotels provide them as standard...
5,0 Okay
Pros: Good breakfast freshly cooked
Cons: We were displaced from no 4 to florence house. Not as good a location or accomodation but same money. No offer of any type of compensation for downgrade.

Pros: Everything was lovely
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very clean even though it was old
Cons: The lifts
7,0 Good
Pros: The location of the hotel
Cons: Noisey central heating
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Apart from the above, our second stay at this hotel was excellent.
Cons: In the early evening we waited for a taxi in the foyer. It was blowing a hooly outside, with the entrance door being blown shut, making it very difficult to open for two groups of party goers. Two members of staff were at the door directing entrants to one of the two parties. They commented repeatedly on the wind and rain outside, but did absolutely nothing to assist guests entering the hotel. We were shocked at this total lack of care for paying customers. Not impressed!
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, good value for money and a clean hotel.
7,0 Good
Pros: The location is over the road from the beach and peer, and you can go on a really nice coastal walk towards the historic harbour.

5,4 Okay
Cons: Too far from anywhere
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was big and comfortable . Enough space to move around. The beds were comfortable. Very clean.
7,0 Good
Pros: Cocktails and the staff
Cons: My breakfast wasn't right 2 times
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, professional and helpful staff. Breakfast had a lot of choice and was good quality.
Cons: I don't think charging for parking in an out of town location makes much sense. Everyone would need a car so it's really just disguising total cost.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Bed was comfortable, view from room was nicer than looking into courtyard, bathroom was clean and tidy and liked the toiletries provided
Cons: Room service was poor, no corkscrew provided and had to phone down twice to get one sent up. Pizza we ordered had very limited topping that was ordered and chips were lukewarm. Air conditioning in room was noisy and didn’t seem to work very well given that I kept waking up in the night feeling de-hydrated. Had a fridge but no bottled water provided which was disappointing. When we had drinks at the bar service was very robotic and lacked any atmosphere in the bar.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: 2 double beds so 3 adults can stay ie kids who are 16.
Cons: A little too far from city center. Nowhere to walk to. Quite industrial location good for motorway. Pool full of kids and noisy when in bar. So didn’t use Pool

Pros: Great location for our visit to the historic dockyard. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast buffet.
Cons: Bed was worn out. Carpet stained. No AC, so had to open the window.
3,0 Mediocre
Pros: The bed was big
Cons: Room over priced. Handle broken in bathroom, wood on floor in bathroom needs re painting , flooring outside lift was bare floorboards looked really shabby. Breakfast was average, not that hot and would expect to be served for that price . For £118. A night is ridiculous . Wanted to spoil my partner who would have been happy in a Travel Lodge but I thought this would be much more up market. I was embaressed when I saw the state of the landing and bedroom.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast is very good value for money. The location is superb. This is a regular venue for us.
7,0 Good
Pros: The staff were very attentive, when I told them about my room floor, they changed and upgraded us. I was happy for them just to hoover! Very polite. Bar staff really lovely. Bedroom was warm but not too hot. Great location.
Cons: The first room I was allocated was dirty, the floor hadn't been hoovered properly, when I was working out I could see lots of hair in the floor, clearly not mine. The hotel it's self is pretty dated.
6,7 Good
Pros: It was in a great location, breakfast was good.
Cons: The room smelt of drains, the bed was very uncomfortable along with the pillows. Room was a little dated. There wasn’t a lot of parking, had to park across the road and pay extra.
9,1 Excellent
Pros: Very close to the Historic Naval Dockyard and railway.
Cons: Nothing
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good along with the staff. The bar was good with sport on TV.
Cons: Leaking water from underneath the bathroom sink, not sure if it was clean or waste water? 204. Forgot to mention it due to very active weekend in Portsmouth.
9,4 Excellent
Pros: We had a room with a large double. There was also another room with 2 bunks - great for children. Located a couple of hundred metres from the entrance to the Historical Dockyard (Allow 2-3 days to see everything!). Great food in Horatios restaurant. Nice staff
Cons: Room slightly dated but clean and tidy.

7,0 Good
Pros: Very good full English breakfast in basement dining room. Very convenient location with own car park at the rear. Price was reasonable especially for the quiet Garden Suite, bedroom & lounge both with TV, two easy chairs and small single bed in the lounge. Newly decorated, tasteful nice curtains.
Cons: No signage on car park, had to guess that it was for the hotel on arrival. Car park very untidy, remains of a bonfire obstructed two parking spaces, lots of old rusty paint tins and unloved garden/patio area outside the Garden Suite. Poor room preparation. Had to trace extension lead and plug in to get bedside lights working, same for lounge TV. No full length mirror or dressing table, very noisy fan in bathroom, dripping hot tap unless turned off very hard. Henry vacuum cleaner left in hall by bathroom door and another in corridor to breakfast room.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were lovely. Breakfast was fabulous. Our room was spacious and homely
Cons: Bed too soft for us but didn’t spoil our trip

Cons: Rattling windows in room, communal areas could have been cleaner
7,0 Good
Pros: Yelf's hotel is in an excellent location, in the middle of the main shopping area of Ryde and a short walk to the sea front. The staff, at Reception, behind the bar and at breakfast, were all very friendly and efficient. The public areas were clean and quite welcoming and I enjoyed a drink at the bar in the evening. My room No. 21, was clean, comfortable and excellent value but a little dated.
Cons: I don't think anything can be done about it but the sound insulation around my room, room 21, wasn't good - I could hear quite a lot of noise coming from other rooms, I think particularly from upstairs.

2,0 Mediocre
Pros: Food wasnt bad. The young girl on the bar was pleasant and hotel isnt far from gunwharf quays.
Cons: Our room was so small, the skirting boards were dirty and the room and corridor needed decorating. The hotel foyer was freezing cold as was the bar/ restaurant area, we had to ask for heating but even then it was still cold. Staff were quite miserable except the gentleman on reception when we arrived. The room service was disgusting, I had to ring at 1pm and the next day 4pm to have our room serviced and the girl who turned up the second day had a mouth full of food and couldn't speak.

7,0 Good
Pros: Efficient and friendly check-in staff. assisted with instructions to Gunwharf Quay by actually leading us outside and pointing out the road that we needed and adding a useful bit of information about a rugby pitch.
Cons: Not a lot - it provided what we needed for one night prior to boarding a car ferry.
7,9 Good
Pros: Helpful staff
Cons: Extremely noisy when trying to sleep
7,5 Good
Pros: It was in a fairly good location and close to the shopping centre. You couldn’t hear much noise outside when the window was shut. As we’d had it open for short times it was fairly noisy so that was a positive.
Cons: The room was quite small and tight in areas which wasn’t clear from photos. There was a menu in the room which would indicate room service but this wasn’t available. It wasn’t clear what time that food that wasn’t listed as 24/7 meals was available until.
