Pros: Location was excellent for our needs - close to the railway station and on the way to the city centre, which was a convenient and very pleasant walk along the river Salzach. Very professional and friendly staff on reception. Very comfy rooms and quiet. Great night's sleep. A quality hotel. Didn't have chance to sample the Pitterkeller underneath but the menus looked great.

Very professional and friendly staff on reception. Very comfy rooms and quiet. Great night's sleep. A quality hotel. The great Johanneskeller restaurant is directly across the street, and the Mozart Wohnhaus is around the corner (the Café Classic by the Wohnhaus is great for a cheap, traditional breakfast or lunch). Parking was easy at Mirabellplatz, a few blocks away (it is 30€/day in 2019).

Cons: This was our fault for not looking closer, but when we arrived we went to the wrong hotel location (there were two). Took us only 10 min or so to correct the error and get to this one. There is really nothing we didn't like. We did not try the breakfast so have no feedback on that.

Cons: No restaurants, cafes nearby. I need to walk almost 2 km to reach Altstadt (old town) where all good restaurants, cafes, and shoppings are. But, this hotel have a nice restaurant or bar (I didn’t try it, but from the look I believeI they are nice). I feel this hotel is good for business people who just want a nice room where they can relax after long meeting or whatever. Not for a tourist

Cons: The reception staff was quite unfriendly and did not make us feel very welcome. They initially tried to put us in an unacceptable room on the ground floor that they then after we complained exchanged for a nicer one on the third floor. We had stayed in this hotel two times before (as a couple for several nights as well as with the whole family) already, but this time probably was the last.

Short bus ride to old town and I could access my business meetings from the trains. Environmentally conscious, great breakfast facilities and friendly staff. I needed a better wifi connection and hair conditioner in the shower dispenser would have been really nice. I would return with my family on vacation here but may choose another hotel for business.

They were redeemable at the bar but I am not a bar person so I handed them back unused at the end of my stay so did not actually get a benefit from agreeing not to have daily room maintenance. I was told that the whole building has a central control which precludes any independent room control. So don't expect to set your own room temperature.

Pros: The tile in the floor in the bathroom has a few chips in it (about 5). Each chip was black as that was the color of the clay under the finish on the tiles. It created an impression that the tiles were dirty even though it was not dirty but chipped. For a high quality hotel they should definitely replace those chipped tiles or, if necessary, all the tiles on the bathroom floor. The button on the wall for the toilet did not work right. If one pushed it the water would keep flowing through the toilet.

Pros: Amazing location close to tour pickups and restaurants and shopping. The hotel rooms are huge with two windows that open and tons of space to relax. It’s quiet and peaceful. They offer free coffee and tea in the lounge and were very helpful in restaurant options and I was even able to book a tour through them. The manager was even nice enough to print my train boarding passes. Loved our stay here.

Cons: Booked two superior double rooms. Got two rooms on the 5th floor which were vastly different. One was half the size of the other and didnt have some of the facilities of the other. That was very disappointing since we paid the same amount for both rooms. No kettle in room to make a cup of tea. Coffee machine provided in room. Tea coffee juice provided in lobby area.

Pros: The hotel scherer is a small hotel, located very close to the central station, 5 minutes walk only. But since the city is not really big, you could easily walk to all the landmarks of the city. The room was also very nice with good beds and breakfast was really wonderful and taste. Last but of course, not the least are the wonderful staff of the hotel who kindly kept our luggage until the time we requested and also ordered a taxi for us. Many thanks to this nice place!

Bathroom had a shower in the tub but as it was an old bathroom and shower was added, no protective glass around shower,so despite best attempts, water ended up on bathroom floor. Room was quite dirty (found a plastic glove on the floor), fridge did not work and air conditioner struggled to keep room cool.

Cons: However, as we were checking out, we felt that a staff named (Sarah) was annoyed at us for asking questions about the hotel deposit refund. We did not have clear understanding of the system and requested for further explanation but she gave us short brief answers. As we asked more questions, we felt that she couldn’t be bothered giving us deailed clear explanation and made us feel like that we should know better. We believe that she was handling the situation very unprofessionally and was very rude. We believe we should be entitled to ask as many questions regarding financial transactions if we do not have clear understanding of the system. I must say thay we had very pleasent stay at Mercure salzburg till our encounter with a rude staff at the end of our stay.

Pros: Great location and secure parking ( first come first serve) reception staff excellent, I raised a small problem with a floor rail in our bathroom which had come loose, The staff sorted problem next day with no fuss ( late checkin ). Breakfast ok but depending when you got down for breakfast it could be full and the staff running around like mad trying there best, but once the coach party left things got back to normal. I would visit again PS bus stop outside hotel for town and the number 150 which serves a popular day trip route.

Cons: The buses are a bit confusing and this hotel is not walkable distance from the train station. The room itself was nearly perfect. The only thing I think could be improved would be to add USB outlets as this is very handy for international guests. I wish I could have stayed all 3 nights at this hotel while I was in Salzburg, but the rates move around dramatically from night to night. This seems common. I saved about €100 by staying in a different hotel each night of my stay in Salzburg.

Pros: Great location and secure parking ( first come first serve) reception staff excellent, I raised a small problem with a floor rail in our bathroom which had come loose, The staff sorted problem next day with no fuss ( late checkin ). Breakfast ok but depending when you got down for breakfast it could be full and the staff running around like mad trying there best, but once the coach party left things got back to normal. I would visit again PS bus stop outside hotel for town and the number 150 which serves a popular day trip route.

Cons: It is a little further from the Old City than we thought. At least a 20 minute walk. Not much F&B offering around the hotel. Hotel restaurant closed on our first night due to staff issues. It was raining so not happy.

Cons: The hotel claim to be 4 stars but it looks like a cheap 3 stars, completely overpriced (2 nights for 408€), super cheap furniture, awful and nasty carpet, the bathroom wasn’t really clean, hair from someone else and mold between the ceramic, we ordered a pizza and nachos with cheese, the pizza was completely tasteless and like a package one, same the nachos. A really bad experience and *really far* from a 4 stars hotel.

Pros: Great location, close to everything. Parking lot was full at the time, but they had arrangements at a second lot within a block of the hotel (in the mountain- very cool!). The room was lovely, well decorated, clean and tasteful. The beds etc super comfy. Staff were helpful and on it, managing not only our party of 2 but large bus groups. Wifi was excellent. We did not have breakfast on site, but opted per another recommendation to eat around the corner for half the price... worked better for us.

Cons: First we were accommodated in top floor attic small room with angled ceiling which cannot fit 5'10'' tall men, plus lack of water in shower (my wife couldn't wash her hear) and even missing hear conditioner. After my complain we were moved in another room on first floor across of which almost all day there was noise of drilling machine because of capital renovation of another room.

And we add one bed for adult,the bed looks like a folding military bed with the wide of about 1.2 meter,which is a little harder than the original bed. We love all 3 beds. And the hotel let us leave luggage for 2 days after check-out,which is so nice to our trip.

Cons: The parking is paid, costs 13 Euros. Was quite unexpected at the moment of check-out, and nobody warned us at the check-in it's paid. At some point, our kid got stuck inside the automatic rotating door and we had to "save" him manually forcing to press the button inside.
